to our Cairo practor once again back in the house
from James Cairo Practic. Doctor Bobby Myers. Good afternoon, doctor
(03:49):
Bobby Myers.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Good afternoon, good afternoon. So happy, Bev, so happy, Thank
you so much.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
How you doing brother?
Speaker 5 (03:58):
Hey, listen, it's so funny because I've started this new
intermitting fast thing and I was listening to you talk
about that good old food and I'm like, oh, I'm
ready to break my fast right now. Oh my gosh.
I know where I'm going at lunch time today. I
have been meaning to try to and you know what,
and you know what, And I'm so happy that you
said that too, because usually when I go to lunch,
(04:22):
one of the things that I try to do is
I either try to go to my car or try
to go to the break room or go to a
restaurant and sit down and eat, just because I like
to just change the environment, change your setting, just to
reset my mind.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
And then lately I've been so busy that I've had
to go and just pick up the food and bring
it back to the office. So I'm glad to know
that the Rock and Chair actually does have you know,
where you can you know, go in and get some
food and you know, and bring it back.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
So oh yeah, you can take you and go there
and doctor Bibby, don't worry. They have they have plenty,
plenty vegetables that you can choose from.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Don't want to meet.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
And then also they have good bake chicken. If you
have to do some baked chicken.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
That's awesome, That's awesome. You know, as I'm as I'm
as I'm kind of going through this new wellness journey.
I think some of the some of my patients actually
knows this because we kind of talk about this in
the office. But at one time my blood pressure was
around one sixty five, one seventy one seventy five. I
(05:29):
was just taking on too many responsibilities. I had some
loved ones that were uh in the hospital, and I
was just trying to be there because they trusted me,
they knew I would ask the right questions understanding the
medication that the doctors were trying to, you know, put
them on. And I think many of you all know this.
(05:50):
When you're in a lot of pain, a lot of
times you really are not mentally even though we're mentally capable,
but sometimes you kind of drag you from the medication.
So you just want to make sure that whoever is
watching you is very mindful of what the doctors or
what the nurses are doing. I strongly, strongly advise if
(06:12):
you are in the hospital to have a loved one
there with you, someone that can ask the proper questions.
But anyway, I said on it to say that I
was kind of overstanding myself, and uh I wasn't sleeping,
you know very well. Uh I wasn't in my own bed.
Uh you know, waking up with back pains, waking up
with a crook in your neck, trying to take care
(06:32):
of other people. So I definitely my heart goes out
to all the people that are caring uh for different
loved ones. Uh. But my blood pressure had got up
to be there, and uh So for the past couple
of months, probably at the past year, I've been trying
different types of healthy redmends, drinking more water, get into
(06:57):
the sauna, doing the sea malls, you know, you know,
trying to sleep earlier in the day, Uh, taking some naps,
just trying different things to try to get my blood
pressure down. And so now my blood pressure is down
one to one thirty two and I'm so happy. So
I want to keep that consistently. So again, as we're
(07:18):
going out and eating different meals, one of the things
that I found was there was a lot of salt
being put into the foods.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
In my mind, I'm saying, I'm not putting salt in
the foods and eating the foods, but now realizing that
as I'm going to different restaurants, you know, they're putting
salt into the food. So I've been so happy to
get some good recommendations from a lot of my you know, patients,
a lot of people that I just know, uh, and
(07:48):
also people that actually own some of these businesses that
are kind of letting me know that they do have
special sides, they do have special you know, vegan options,
or they do have some you know options if you
do have high blood pressure. And that's something that I recommend.
So if you are going to some of the local establishments.
Make sure that you let them know that you do
(08:09):
have high blood pressure or you do have diabetes, and
they can give you some different, you know, options that
will probably be better for you. I just realized it
just dawned on me that next week is actually Good Friday,
leading up to Easter. Uh so I definitely want to
say happy Easter to everyone, and just to let you know,
(08:29):
we will be open this Saturday, which is April to twelve,
and will also be open on Good Friday from nine
to twelve. And so I strongly encourage you, you know,
if you're looking for the perfect day to come in
or looking for a massage, maybe your schedules kind of music,
kind of hectic. Those are two days that we just
(08:50):
opened up that would be good to get some good
stretching in, some good massaging in, and also to get
your body in proper alignment. So again, the listeners out there, again,
I'm so so so happy we're in April right now.
We've had so much rain but yet and still just
know that the flu season is still out there, so
(09:12):
make sure you keep your immune system up and properly works.
Again for people who have sinnus issues with the pollen.
Just know that this is pretty much the first month
that grass couldn't season will start. So if you, you know,
aren't allergic to grass again, you're gonna start seeing a
lot of people start sneezing, coughing, wearing masks all over again.
(09:33):
So again, just please be safe out there.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
And I know because since you made a good point,
doctor Bobby, because last week, oh my gosh, the weather
was crazy, the graid. Oh my goodness. You know what
I said, doctor Barbar. I told somebody, I said, I
thought Noah was coming back. Oh I forgot. It's gonna
be fine next time.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
I know it.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
Already been here, Fine next time.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
And you know what, Beth, you know what's so crazy
is even though there are certain parts of cliffs that
probably did not see some of the you know, some
of the rain as much as others, when you figure
out just how close those other counties, those other cities
where uh, it's just so amazing how God's work is,
and you know, it just makes you just realize just
(10:24):
how blessed and how fortunate you are, uh for so
many people out there. I mean I was looking at
the cars and you know, you got water all the
way up to the top of the cars and uh,
you know, you got certain streets that you can't even
get in and out of. And uh you know again,
you know, just being so blessed and fortunate to be
able to come to work today and ask you to
be able to you know, talk to everyone. So uh
(10:47):
again I tell everyone, please take a minute, you know,
just to reflect on how good God is and also
just to be thankful, but also to pray for the
others that are also going through these times. So again,
our health is so so so important. And I always
tell people health. And I say this because my daughter's
(11:07):
in school right now. She's a freshman right now, and
so it was interesting, I kind of don't want to
say it, but at the school that she's at, one
of the young ladies that lives on her floor just
committed suicide. And she's a freshman, and you know, and
and again, you know, my you know, all I can
do is just think, you know, what was this young
lady going through in her mind, and just for us
(11:29):
to reach out and support. So you know, again there's
also physical you know, as well as it is mental.
And anyone that knows that has went through anything traumatic
even though you're physically able, but when the vine it's
not where it needs to be, it makes it that
much more difficult to do the things that you need
to do. So that's why we always extend out our hand,
(11:51):
you know. And I tell everyone, you know, just call
and just check up on people. Apparently she had been
in her dorm room. She was by herself, and she
doesn't have a rule mat and by time they found
her again, uh, they know that she's been in there
for a little while. So again my heart goes out
to that family and to many others. But again I
just keep praying for everyone.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, wow, yeah, yeah, it's it's it's crazy times going
on like this and and thinking about that. And you know, stress,
doctor Biby, you've talked about this. Stress can affect your health.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Correct.
Speaker 5 (12:26):
Oh yeah, it does. I mean, you know what, And
it's one of those things that affects us in ways
that we don't even realize or know that's happening.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
You know.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
I always tell everybody that, you know, how blood pressure
didn't just happen.
Speaker 6 (12:39):
Overnight, or diabetes didn't happen overnight, uh, you know, and
and and and what typically happens is we think that
we have it under control, and I think everybody does,
and before you know it, you'll find yourself maybe going
off on someone.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
That you really didn't mean to go all on on,
or uh, you know, not being able to sleep as well,
tossing and turning, and so then you wake up you're
not feeling the very best. You don't have that energy.
Maybe you have to drink, you know, an extra couple
of caffeine or something to get yourself going. But you know,
stress is one of those things. It just builds up.
(13:17):
And most of my stids will ask me all the time,
you know, how often should they come in or how
often should they get a massage? And you know what,
everyone's body is so different, you know, so so different.
I will tell you that sometimes I do have problems
with turning my mind off. There's times that I can
(13:37):
lay in the bed at you know, eight thirty or
nine o'clock, and for some reason it hits me until
almost eleven o'clock before my body will finally shut down.
And so again, you know, I'll come back into the
office and I'll ask my massage therapist, Hey, you know,
do you mind just working on me? As a matter
of fact, today. It was one of those days and
it was set sleep well last night. I have two weights,
(14:01):
I have two weights to go to on tomorrow, and
I have two funerals to go to on Friday. And honestly,
I didn't think that it affected me, but I couldn't
sleep last night and this morning. The first thing I
did was I said, hey, who do you mind just
giving me a massage for about ten or fifteen minutes?
And he gave me a massage, and he gave me
a nice, real good stretch and I just feel so
(14:24):
rejuvenated right now. And so again you're right there. Stress
affects us in different ways. We just have to be
able to listen to our body, pay attention to it,
and give it what it needs.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
And thank you for telling us that.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
I'd always like to ask you to doctor Bobby about
anything special coming up with James Chirol Practic.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
You know our specials right now for this month, it's
really our saturdays that were open. We were hoping last
Saturday and we're open this Saturday. We do have a
spe for any of the new patients that come in.
It's regular price seventy five dollars for the first visit.
We're doing for fifty dollars for the first visit. One
(15:12):
of the things that we are doing this month. Actually,
this has been on my heart for a while, ever
since COVID happened. We've had a lot of people that
want to either come a little bit before everybody comes
or a little bit after work hours just because they
don't really like being around the crowds. And we had
(15:32):
a church that actually reached out to us and they
wanted to actually do a SPA day. So we're having
a SPA day coming up. Someone has already reserved that
particular day, and I've thought about this as an option
for individuals. We're doing it for Mother's Day actually that
(15:55):
they want to set up their own little personal SPA party.
Generally ranges tween ten to fifteen ladies, and we have
the massage therapists there doing a couple of different therapies.
We can even cater the food for them, whatever type
of you know, genre of music, and it's pretty much
(16:16):
there ringing out that whole day. So there's something new
that we're doing at James Karen practiced. Uh So for
anyone out there that wants to do something special for
a women's group, or even a men's group as well. Uh,
there's something that we're going to be starting out in
the month of Terna. So again very excited. It will
(16:37):
be at our white Haven location.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
And okay, that'll happen at the white Haven location.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
Yes, this will be at the white white Haven location.
It's a little bit of a different space, different kind
of layout. We have massage chairs. I mean, we're going
to do it really big. I mean, we can decorate
the off, we can have a nice orders anyway, I'm
I'm just very very excited about that. So that's one
(17:07):
of our new projects that we're starting up next month.
We're doing a couple of test runs on it right now,
just so we can have it down pats. So, but
if any of the ladies that are out there that
has any small groups of about ten to fifteen that
would like to do a SPA party, give us a caller.
James can practic and we'll give you some more information.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Sounds good.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Hold on, doctor Bobby. Will take a break when I
come back. I have a couple of emails for you today. Already,
doctor Bobby. Put you to work. We are, yes, sir,

but he will answer your questions. You're having trouble with

with all.
Speaker 4 (17:55):

legendary do w d I A the.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Bev Offsial.
Speaker 7 (18:37):
Ladies and gentlemen. You're listening to the Queen of Talk,
Bev Johnson on w d i A.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
You're listening to the Bev Johnson Show. Here's Bev Johnson.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
And we're talking with our Cairo practor doctor Bobby Myers.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Doctor Bobby. I'm going to our phone lines to talk
with Carrie Hi.
Speaker 8 (19:26):
Carrie Hi Bell.
Speaker 7 (19:29):
How are you?
Speaker 5 (19:31):
Thank you?
Speaker 8 (19:32):
How about yourself?
Speaker 4 (19:32):
I'm doing well? What's your question?
Speaker 6 (19:35):
Okay?
Speaker 8 (19:36):
I will like ask doctor Bobby do he treat people
will nerve them? It's called they is pronounced two or
three different ways. Mirock uh huh. Do he treat them
just like j pad, a fanger toe arm or something ampotato.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Oh okay, okay, okay, okay, mix Carrie, I will ask
doctor Bobby that question, and you keep listening.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Okay, okay, thank you, thank you. Doctor Bobby. Did you
hear Miscarries's question.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
Yes, yes, I did so. The answer to that question
is yes, we do a lot with neuropathy. What some
people understand is there's different stages in neuropathy and there's
some different kind of treatments such as like different creams
(20:29):
that you can use, but there are some exercises and
stretches that we can do to improve like the strength.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
We do a lot with flexibility, but we do a
lot with the tens unit to kind of wake up
that nerve. And then we also do a lot of
trigger point therapy. We're trying to release the trigger points
or the toxins that are around that area, and then
we try to increase the circulation in that area. So
(20:58):
there's a lot of different type of treatments that we
can use that we have at the office to help
with neuropathy.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
And it won't be a problem doctor Bobby. Because she
said if somebody had amputation or anything, you treat those
people as well.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
Yes, you know, and one of the things that I
do as individuals when they come in is a little
bit about their lifestyle. So for instance, if the person
sits in a wheelchair for a long period of time,
you know how much circulation are they actually getting into
that area. I know I've seen on TV they have
(21:37):
some different devices where you take off your shoes and
your socks and you place your feet on this vibrating
machine And basically what it's really trying to do is
trying to add some vibration therapy to wake up those nerves.
So again, depending on what level they're at, kind of
lets me know what type of therapy will be best
(21:59):
for them. But again trying to understand their lifestyle. You know,
what do they eat, do they exercise, are they overweight?
And just make sure that they're not putting any harmful
substances in their bodies such as alcohol or if they're smoking.
It's really trying to see are there any factors that's
decreasing their nerve and the circulation flow to those particular areas.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Okay, okay, doctor Bobby will get to the emails and
a Jackie wants to know doctor Bobby I've never done yoga.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
Will it helped my spinal stenosis? That's the first question.
Speaker 7 (22:42):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
So I will say this the gym that I go to,
what I did not know is there is an array
of yoga classes. And when I say in an array
of yoga classes, i'm speaking of they have them hide,
they have oh my gosh, they have at least ten
(23:06):
or fifteen different classes that they offer at the gym
I go to. I've only went to one yoga class
and that was I'm sorry, two yoga classes. I went
to the hot yoga and then to the regular yoga.
But my main objective was to increase my flexibility and
range of motion. Now, there are certain exercises and there
(23:29):
are certain poses that I don't recommend for individuals that
have certain types of pain, okay, or individuals that may
have scoliosis, or individuals that have had a bulging disk
or sciatica. So I think yoga overall is a very
(23:50):
good exercise. But to be more specific, there are certain
poses that I would remain excuse me, remain from, and
those are more of the twisting poses and more of
the lateral poses. But as far as anything forward and backwards,
bringing the knee to the chest, opening up your hips.
(24:13):
I think those are phenomenal for anyone that has more
back pain. So hopefully did that helps a lot?
Speaker 2 (24:22):
All?
Speaker 5 (24:22):
Right?
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Then she also wants to know also, she says, doctor Bobby,
have you heard of tart cherry juice for pain and inflammation?
Speaker 5 (24:34):
Yes, so tart carry juice usually is for individuals with guts.
So that's one of the first things that they pretty
much tell you, you know, to drink when you have
gas because the inflammation is so big. And I actually,
you know what, I actually bolts to just have just
(24:59):
at the house just for you know, just for inflammation use.
And it was so strong and so concentrate that it
kind of made me lightheaded. And maybe because I just drunk. Yeah, member,
since I just drunk too much, and it was and
it was it was pure, pure juice. So you're talking
about like a small eight ounce glass was about twenty
(25:24):
five to thirty dollars.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
Yeah, and again and.
Speaker 5 (25:28):
Again, it was so concentrated that I think I was
drinking it was more like a syrup and it was
just so sweet. I think it was just too strong.
I should have actually diluted it with some water, but
I do strongly recommend, you know, the cherry juice if
you do have any type of inflammation. But I would
(25:49):
warn you and say that I would take it in
small doses just to see how your body responds and
how it you see how he responds to it.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Yeah, because I know I was drinking that would drink
chair Drews and you you can get the tart and
then they have a little has a little sweetness in it.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
But yeah, that but but but it works and you're
you're absolutely right, doctor Bobby.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
A lot of people use it for gout.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Yes, yes, And if people don't know your doubt, that's
just y'all another form of arthritis, right, doctor Bobby.
Speaker 5 (26:26):
Yes, uh huh, totally totally uh. And you know what,
I will say this again. I always tell everybody that
everyone's body is different, and it's amazing how something that
will work for me may not work for another person.
And then it's also amazing how the levels are different.
(26:49):
So for instance, if I was to drink three or
four SIPs of a coke, I will not be able
to go to sleep at nighttime. So caffeine effects me
so differently, whereas somebody else can drink coffee and he
doesn't do anything for them. Or they can have two
or three coffees and it doesn't bother them at all.
(27:12):
It's because of their body has just got used to it,
and coffee does not excuse me that caffeine does not
bother them. But for me, if I have some caffeine,
I literally cannot go to sleep at all that night.
And so I even had even my kids when we
would go to the dentist and they would have to
give them something to actually calm them down or to
(27:32):
do some type of surgery. And instead of that, instead
of that, lords have actually causing them to relax and
be more relaxed. The lords have it just the opposite
effect and have them more and more anxious. So again
everyone's body is different. But I will tell you that
the benefits for the tart juice does decrease the inflammation.
(27:53):
But I would recommend just to take any smaller dosage
just to see how your body responds to it.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Okay, thank you Jackie for those questions. I re appreciate this.
Another question Doctor Bobby for from Carolyn, and she says,
Doctor Bobby, how often should I get adjustments on my back?
I feel that my spine is curving. Is that a problem?
(28:20):
Should I see a kylepractor.
Speaker 5 (28:24):
That's a very good question. It's probably one of my
most common questions that I get. And again, so everyone
that comes in typically, if we have some X rays,
I can see if they're in the early part of
the generation. I can see if the spine is degenerating
faster than normal. I can see if it's you know,
(28:47):
a lot of curvature. Also, I just see what they
do for a living. So if you're an individual that
you have more of a labor intensive job, just know
that you're wearing your body out a lot quicker and
faster than someone that probably has a job where they
sit at a desk. And individuals that sit at a desk,
which you typically see, is they have a lot more
(29:09):
lower back problems. And that's really because they sit down
for so much. And so what happens is that lower
part of their backs starts to get compressed around your
L four L five, which has to do with your
primary of your bending forward and backwards. And that's why
individuals that have jobs like that typically has more sadic
(29:30):
pains more than anybody else because of the nature of
the job. So again there's a lot of things that
I look at that I take into account when I
try to answer that question. Is many variables. Generally speaking,
I'm going to say once a week. There's some individuals
that come in that are twice a week, and there
(29:51):
are some individuals that come in three times a week.
If we have someone that has migraine headaches and these
headaches are reoccurring and they've gotten worse and worse, maybe
maybe maybe when they first started, they only started for
lasting for about a day. Now they're lasting like three
or four days. We have to really really be proactive
(30:13):
and get ahold of this problem before it gets bad.
And then there's individuals that excuse me, that are already
taking different types of medication, or maybe they're going through
a bad time in their life. Maybe they're an accountant
and they're doing a lot with their taxes. Maybe they
just had death in their family. Maybe they're a caregiver.
(30:35):
And again, those are the kind of issues that don't
just go away. When you're a caregiver, you're a full
time thinker. Your mind is constantly moving, is thinking, and again,
when you're mentally stressed, it just put so much other
stress on other areas of your body that you don't recognize.
So so those individuals don't need a one some a month.
(30:57):
Those individuals need a little bit more that maybe you're
an average person. So to answer your question again, on an average,
I'm going to say once a week to once every
other week is what I typically recommend for most of
my patients that are on maintenance care. Uh, And that's
(31:18):
just maintaining what they have. And I'll be honest with you. Then,
it's amazing when my blood pressure was one seventy five,
because of my job and because of my work ethic,
I was still going to work and pushing through. And
I think for a lot of individuals out there, no
matter how much pain you're in, when you have kids
(31:41):
and uh, you know you still have to get them
ready for school, and you know when you have a
job that's demanded, you tend to take a couple of
asping and just keep going. I think that we constant
keep going. But I will tell you that since my
blood pressure is down to it's one hundred and twenty
five to one thirty right now, I feel five thousand
(32:02):
percent better. I don't have to struggle as much. I
don't have the brain fall as much. So even sometimes
when I go out, I find myself wanting to eat
certain things. I really don't want to feel like how
I felt before. So when people come in and they've
been in sadding pains, or if you've had a toothache
that nagged and lasted you forever, you really don't want
(32:26):
to go back. You know, you really don't want to
go back. You really want to learn what was it
that caused it, so I can stay away from that,
you know. And so the mindset I think is changing
where people really do want a better quality of life.
They really want to learn and understand what do they
need to stay away from and to make those changes.
(32:48):
Because doing it once or twice and you know, you
kind of get away with it. But after you've had
that pain and it's lasting longer and longer, and you
start seeing that you can't maybe wear those heels, or
you can't try, or starts to affect your quality of life,
that's when I see the biggest changes in people. So
again I always ask, cause you know, how bad do
(33:08):
you want to live? How bad do you want to
continue doing all these different things that you love to do.
So once or twice a month, excuming once a week
or once every other week, something that I would recommend
for everybody to do that.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Okay, well, I was going to ask you one of.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
The things that I know that as a chiropractor in
your staff, doctor.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
Bobby, you all believe in that in that stretching and stretching.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
And then I've been hearing lately people stretch that a stretch,
you know, I see it in the morning show. So
what is really the benefits of you stretching every day?
Speaker 5 (33:45):
You know, the business is of stretching is to elongate
the muscles. So we started seeing someone in their postures
starting to change. A lot of that comes from tight muscles,
you know. And also going back to what we said
about you know, individuals that sit down for so long,
their muscles just become very very tight, right, and so
(34:06):
instead of them walking fully erect and straight up, those
hips have been contracted for so long that when you
go to stand up, they continue to pull and they've
been the body forward.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
You know.
Speaker 5 (34:22):
Also, individuals that don't stretch a light you'll see them
start to lose their height as they get older. You know,
you'll also see individuals that don't stretch, they usually have
circulatory problems. Going back to the whole neuropathy issues. People
that don't stretch also means that those joints don't typically
move as well as they need to move. My mother
(34:45):
is in a wheelchair, and so one of the biggest
things that we try to do with her is one
is to keep her knees moving back and forth. And
I also have my massage therapist there's someone doing the
sage on the lower part of her limbs, because I
know by sitting down for a piece of time, there's
(35:06):
no circulation that's going to that area, and that's where
the blood clots come in. And again on top of that,
especially if you're not eating properly, you're not giving your
you're basically making your heart work harder to pump that
blood that's just sitting there and it's not moving very often.
(35:26):
So if you do have a desk job, it's really
good that you can kind of move your feed back
and forth, kind of kick them back and forth, so
you can keep that circulation going in there.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
So that stretching is good for So you're really stretching,
are you saying, doct Bobby stretching out those muscles?
Speaker 5 (35:48):
Oh? Yes, yes, yes, definitely. So the stretching again has
a lot to do with excuse me, has a lot
to do with the flexibility, and really more with the
posture is one of the biggest things. And also it
helps with reducing stress and anxiety. You'll be surprised on
(36:09):
just that movement alone what it does just to help
you with a better mood, and just increases the blood
leveled to the muscles. And again that's so so important
because there's oxygen just being delivered with stretching, and getting
that oxygen through all your muscles into your lamb just
(36:30):
wakings up the body. So those are pretty much the
main benefits that I've really seen. And again I get
a lot of athletes that come in to get stretched
because again one, it allows them to grow taller, okay,
and it also prevents them from having injuries. So if
you're an individual, you know, right now and you're not stretching,
(36:52):
you can go and work in your guard and you
can hurt yourself or injure yourself because your muscles are
so tight because guess what, you haven't been using those muscles.
You're not you know, you said bending over for you know,
thirty minutes working in the yard. You know, so again,
stretching is just so beneficial in so many different ways.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
One of the things I wanted to ask you and
about when we talk about because I know you you
help treat the spinal synosis and psy attica and stuff.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
Why is it, doctor Barbie?
Speaker 2 (37:23):
And because I thought about this when you were talking
about bending over. When if you have that and you're
bending over, you feel better than standing up straight?
Speaker 4 (37:34):
So what's going on with that?
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Yeah? Yeah, so that's that's that's a very good question,
and I'm gonna see if I can answer it this way. Okay,
if you were to injure your left foot, you're not
gonna lean towards the left side because you'll be putting
more pressure on that side. Okay, You're gonna find yourself
(38:01):
favoring the right side.
Speaker 5 (38:03):
Okay. When you have final stenosis, it takes pressure off
of your spine when you've bend forward, so your body
doesn't want to stand all the way erect because that's painful.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:23):
So when you start seeing people that are leaning to
a particular side or leaning forward, they're basically leaning forward
to take the pressure off of the opposite direction. Okay,
So when someone has final stenosis automatically, they're gonna want
(38:47):
to lean forward because leaning forward takes pressure off of
the spire.
Speaker 7 (38:53):
Yes, but you will not know.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
We want to sit up straight and go all the
way straight. But but because of the spinal stenosis, it
won't allow you to do that for a long period
of time because of the paint.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
Right.
Speaker 5 (39:09):
So, so.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
What can help that? Does coming to you help it?
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Physical therapy help it that you can try to start
make sure you're walking straight, standing up straight.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
Even though you have the stenosis.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
Yeah, right, So the first thing is when we first
we try to prevent the senosis from happening, and we
try to tell you know, moms, you know, try to
tell their kids to sit up straight, okay, because and
again I think a lot of people think when parents
are telling the kids to sit up straight, they kind
of think, Mom, why it doesn't bother me, I can
(39:46):
still you know, go this way. But there are some benefits.
There are some things that happen when a person doesn't
sit up straight that happens over time, and again that
is one of them, which is spinal stenosis. Women that
typically carry a lot of more weight in the breast
area typically has spinal stenosis because again their weight is
being poured forward, so they have to focus on use
(40:10):
the muscles to bring themselves back. So when a person
has spinal stenosis, what is happening is the canal with
where all of your nerves are going in and out.
They should be nice and big, okay, But when you
have stenosis, that hole that encloses those nerves are a
(40:32):
lot smaller. And so what happens is when you move
into the backwards or the extension direction, it squeezes. That
hole gets smaller, which squeezes those nerves. So if you
go forward, it opens up the spinal canal. So when
(40:54):
you're in a lot of pain, you don't want to
go into position in the position that's going to squeeze
the nerves even more. You want to go into the
position which is moving forward, which is going to take
the pressure off of that nerve. So that's why it's
more comfortable to bend forward than it is to bend
(41:15):
backwards when you have spinal stenosis. So what you can
do is we can wear a back brace. If we
wear a back brace, a back brace will help support
and to help us sit up more upright versus sitting forward.
We also have a spinal decompression machine at our office,
(41:35):
which is also very good because it helps to stretch
out and takes pressure off of not only the lower
part of the back, but it takes pressure off the
middle part of the back as well. Okay, and then
we can do it. We can also do an adjustment
in the middle part of the back. But again it
depends on what stage that that arthritis or what stage
(41:59):
that spinal stae noses in. So if the spinal sonosis
kent to now is very very small, then we may
have to use another type of device because of the
sensitivity to that area. But if it's something that just started,
we can make significant improvements, you know, with some different therapiest.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
Sounds good. Hold on, doctor Bobby, so while we take
a break. Oh I love doctor Bobby. You working today.
You're working today.
Speaker 3 (42:28):
Brother.
Speaker 2 (42:28):

Speaker 2 (43:57):
And we're talking with our Cairo practor doctor by Myers
anything else. Doctor Bobby you like to add on this
day and uh make sure our listeners know what specials
are going on at James Chiro Practic.
Speaker 5 (44:12):
You know, I think beb I really just wanted to
just tell the listeners again, you know, just keep praying
for the families that are out there, uh that had
a lot of water damage, uh and from the weather.
And I just want to say, I know I saw
a lot of car accidents happening. Please please please be safe.
(44:33):
And it's something that we do at our office. We
specialize in car accidents and for anyone out there that
we've had a lot of people just sneezing and you know,
calling in and just talking about their sinuss each and
every day. So I just want to make sure everyone
is just mindful about those sinus pressures and again, visit
us on our social media. Our social media is James
(44:55):
kind of practice. I'm always putting different UH health topics.
Feel free to d me there and if there's any
information that we talk about that you want to know
more information about, or you know, give me some suggestions
for next month. Bet I have to say, you have
some of the best, best best following some of the
best listeners wherever I go. Sometimes I'm just out to
(45:17):
eat and they'll pull me to the side and they'll
just say something to me and I'll tell them it's very,
very encouraging, especially because when I get on the radio,
there's so many things that I just want to share.
God has blessed me with a special gift and I
love using it the right way. So anything that we
can do to just help somebody share something with somebody,
(45:40):
I definitely want to do it. So again, we'll be
open this Saturday, which is able to twelve, and we'll
also be open on Good Friday, which is next week
from nine to twelve, and both of those appointments will
be at the Cordova office. We have two locations. We
have a White Heaven location as well as the quart
(46:02):
over location. Uh. The phone number is seven five to
two eight eight a three. That's seventy five two eight
eight a three. Again, now that this weather's breaking, I'm
hoping individuals are starting to get up and start stretching,
being careful as a get out there in these streets,
(46:23):
and just trying to improve the circulation. Uh, and just
understanding what real health is about.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (46:30):
And again there's anything that we can do for you.
Please just let us know.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
Sounds good, doctor Bobby, you work today, good information. We
do appreciate you. We do, we do, we do, we do.
Speaker 5 (46:41):
Thank you so much, you know. And listen, I'm gonna
get out of here and I'm going to go over to.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Uh the rock and chair, the rocket chair.
Speaker 5 (46:49):
All right, brother, I gotta get something to eat real
fast before I get back.
Speaker 2 (46:53):
Well, you can get it to you can get it
to take out Dtor Bobby and take it on back
to the office.
Speaker 5 (46:59):
Yes, you know. So what is your favorite? Uh? What's
your everything you'd like to get over there?
Speaker 2 (47:05):
I like the smothered turkey nicks. I like the baked chicken,
and every now and then I'll get me a smothered
pork chop, doctor Bobby.
Speaker 4 (47:18):
But they have a they have pot rolls.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
They have all kinds of good stuff and plenty of vegetables,
greens and beans and gabbage and oh grand oh yeah,
they got a desserts to doctor Bobby.
Speaker 5 (47:30):
Well Am on my way right now.
Speaker 4 (47:31):
So you tell them when you're going to out, said
Bev told me to come.
Speaker 5 (47:36):
Okay, I sure will, I sure will. And just to
all the listeners out there, again, I want you all
to have a happy, happy Easter, be with your family
and like I said again, I'm just so happy just
for each and everybody. And if you get some forget
of time, get an opportunity. Take a look at my
social media, which is James Karen Pranctick. We're also just
having different things that's going on in the city and
(47:58):
I started doing a high light an athlete of the
week again for some good young men, good young women
on and off the field. I think it's very good
to be an athlete, but it's also what you do
with your influence outside of the sports that you're playing.
And that's what I'm more concerned with, is about the
character and being a good influencer others. So again, just
(48:21):
trying to support all of them into all they do
into all the wonderful families and parents out there who
are making the difference in their lives. So it's our
job to teach them. You know a lot of times
I hear us criticizing things all the time, and which
is fine. But at the same time I always ask
the question, what are you doing about it? So don't
be that person that's just talking about it and hiding
(48:44):
behind the phone. Be that person that's actually getting out
there and using your voice and using and putting some
food work behind it to teach them the proper way
to go about doing it. So again, I love you
all and I will see you all back next month.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
Thank you, doctor Bobby saying out there, brothers, thank you,
bye bye bye.
Speaker 4 (49:04):
That is our Cairo.
