(04:57):
A the Bev Johnson show E it is indeed a
beautiful Wednesday in Memphis, Tennessee. It's April sixteenth, twenty twenty five.
Enjoyed this fi fabulous day today. As always, he is
back in the studio. He's back. Love this guy. Automotive
(05:21):
Specialists put a handle onto BEB Johnson. Mister Terry Spicer,
good morning, Terry. How are you? Good morning, my beautiful
radio Hall of Famer, Miss BEV Johnson. How are you
feeling today? I'm feeling fabulous today, Terry. I'm not complaining.
I'm not gonna do any more complaining when I do,
(05:43):
and I'll tell you why because you always ask me
what's going on? That's right, Terry. Oh, and I want
to tell Terry this. And I went downtown Terry and
got my specialty day. You know, I got my my
my delta. Oh yes, you talked about that last week. Hey,
(06:05):
I didn't want that Bell Bell's tag, and Bell said,
I don't want that tag. It looked plain just regular.
I want to spend and I want to apologize, Terry.
Terry looked at me. When Terry came back, he said,
he showed me. He said, mister mad I got your
tag on and I look like I don't want that
regularly want that tag? Where's my specialty tag? Where's my
(06:26):
delta sigma theta sorority tag? And Terry looked at me.
Then he explains it, miss mav you got to you
have to go anyway anyway. Tis So, since we're on
the subject though, so when you do get your regular
jask and you want to get a specialty play, what
is the I'm gonna take? Oh gosh, okay, So I
took my little paperwork down there, went down there and
(06:46):
I get and forgot Terry to take the tag. Oh,
so I had to go back. Well, I went down
there anyway, so since I didn't have my the tag
on the car, and they said, missus Johnson, you got
right where's the tag? I said, okay, I didn't know
(07:07):
I had to bring that. I thought it just brought
the paperwork. But anyway, so if you're going to get
a specialty tag and you have your old tag, you
have to turn that back in. So Terry, I had
to turn that back in. And then I got my
specialty tag, my delta sigma theta sororities tag. I got that,
and yeah, and you know have the paperwork with you. Yeah, yeah,
(07:30):
would it have been easier Maybe this is off the
air conversation, but it would it have been easier for
you to just transfer your other tag back when you
bought it with that Well, I don't know if you
could have done that. Maybe we need to ask. You
need to find that out. Yeah, you know automotive specialist.
You need to Well, I don't know if you. I
wasn't in the office with you when you When I
was in the office when we talked, it was evident
(07:53):
that because she said, I said, I have a specialty tag.
She said, oh, what is it? And she was writing
everything down and what it is? She said, okay, And
I was assuming that because she put on the paperwork
the no I was getting this specially taged. I'm saying,
you thought she was getting that tag to be transferred
to your car, the one that you already had. No.
I thought it was going to get a new I knew. Oh, okay, okay,
(08:14):
a new one. Yeah, that's something I'm going to focus in.
But focusing because I don't know if I could have
transferred Well, you know what, no, because a friend of
mine down now, she says, once you relinquished that car,
you know, my PT Cruiser that had that tag on.
They said, oh, if that's gone, she says, they wiped
(08:35):
that out the system. That tag is no longer valid real,
So I had to get a new one. So yeah,
she told me that that tag, She says, no, ma'am.
She says, they wiped that out. So because you sold
your car, you know, relinguished all that, She said, that's
gone because it was associated to that car, right to
(08:55):
that PT Cruiser. Because I was saying I could have
kept she says, no, you have to get a new
So anyway, I'm okay because I was able to get
a new one. Yes, okay. So my thing is the folks,
if you're gonna get a specialty tag, you want one
because they have all kinds. Do you have to turn
in the old tag that you're that's on your car?
The license plate y'all? I should say plate, the plate
(09:19):
that's on the car and turn that in. Yes, So
what I did, Terry, I did. I had to when
I go back. I went back, had my plate, had
the paperwork, turned it in and uh, I think I
on the old had to pay forty four dollars. Okay.
The difference I got you. Yeah, the difference because because
specially tags, y'all those a little higher. Yes, and they
(09:39):
have all kinds. And it was so funny. I laughed.
It was a gentleman in front of me. He was
a veteran. He was fussing too, and he said I
wanted my veterans tag because he was a veteran and
he said I want my And I said, brother, I
hear you. I know how you feel. But uh yeah,
so yeah, I just like and all my cars I've had,
(09:59):
I had the Delta Sigma, Theta Sorority, gotcha. So now
at home in my garage, I got all these tags
lined up De Sigma. But I have a new one though. Okay,
so I have a brand new Have you ever transferred
your specialty tag through so you you can't. So you can't.
I've never because I thought I could, so I never.
So I've never done that. So you do have to
(10:21):
get I guess when they say this all especially if
you get a new car. Yeah, and you and or
you sell or get rid of your old car. If
you have a standard plate, you can transfer that plate.
I know you can do that. You can do that,
especialty plates to get a little. I'm not real sure,
but you just gave me some information I didn't know.
So I guess if someone has a specialty plate and
they go to buy a new car, I didn't know
(10:42):
that they couldn't transfer that play over. And when you
went into Bethane's office, it was no way for me
to see. Yeah, conversation. Yeah, but we did have the conversation,
and I saw her do the paperwork. So I was
just because when when That's why I was surprised when
you said I got your tag, and that's why I
was looking crazy. That's not what I want Terry. Y'all listeners,
(11:05):
Terry saw the bull came out for a few minutes,
the whole bull. The bull came out for a few minutes.
I screwed that tag on tights? Did you get it all?
I did it. I took it off and I put
my new tag on. How to do that?
Speaker 9 (11:19):
I put?
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I put the tag, I took the tag off, and
I put my my new license plate on it going on. Yeah,
but I let people know. But yeah, I wanted to
tell you that, and we got into that subject because
I said I was downtown and telling Terry, I don't
complain because terry because I went down there early in
the morning. Oh my Lord, and you see the number
(11:41):
terry of homeless people that are out. Oh my gosh.
I didn't know because I hadn't been downtown early in
the morning in a long time, because we you know,
when we had the station was down there. Yeah, and
I saw, Lord, have mercy, and I said that it's
since we got a lot of folks who need help,
(12:02):
homeless and a lot of people with mental challenges. You know.
So I'm doing okay, tire. Hey, that's right, brother, I
ain't gonna I'm doing okay tire. Yes, I'm good man,
because I saw that. But anyway, so shout out to
brother Mike Williams who works in the clerk's office, and
(12:22):
clerk wanted Halbert. I saw them. They came out and
hugged me and made sure I was okay cause I
was fussing. You know, I get to it. She'd get
in her fuss mode she don't like something. I was
at a fuss mode because I didn't want to go
down town. The fuss mode is when you go downtown,
it's trying to find somewhere to park. That was my
only fuss mode trying to find somewhere to park. But
(12:45):
I found some places you have to pay pay the park. Well,
there are some places that you have to pay the park,
but I found the places I have to Terry. I
found some places I didn't have to pay the park.
I ain't gonna tell y'all my place, but I found
a place where I didn't have to park pay. But
I see now, and they know it's a problem, Terry,
(13:06):
and I see now that they're letting a lot of
people park on the street. And a lot of people
were parked on the street in front of the courthouse
and down by the Criminal Justice because it's no way
to park, and so a lot of people were so
I was able to park on the street out I said, oh,
here's a park, and I got in there. But yeah,
(13:27):
but it's it's it's it's that's the only thing that
I hate about going downtown, the parking park. But I
made it through. I'm good. I'm happy, Terry. I have
my Delta Sigma Stata sorority license. Here's a question. So
I've never ordered a specially place, So do you design it?
Speaker 5 (13:45):
You know?
Speaker 2 (13:45):
They well, no, they already have them in place. They
have sororities, fraternities, they have colleges, they have Jackson State,
they have Lemon, they have like I said, veterans, they
have one. They have Elvis, they have red birds, they
have arts, and you just pick out probably if you
could go online and look what they have, but you
(14:05):
choose what you want. I don't think. Only thing I
think that you can design get is your your if
you wanted your initials or your name on your plate,
and then that has to you. Not to wait, that
comes from Nashville. But they have they have specialty tags
already there that you if you want to choose, if
you wanted something else on your car rather than the
(14:27):
regular tag. But you all know it costs a little extra.
It's gonna cost a little extra, that's right. But I'm
a little extra. I'm a little extra. So I had
to tell Terry. I couldn't wait. I said, I can't
wait to tell I started to call Terry and tell you,
Terry got my got my plate. I got my plate
(14:49):
because I didn't want that. I don't. I hate how
they change at all. No, not on my red I
want my red and white plait. Oh my car, Oh
my red cars, right, red convertible. Have you been driving
with the roof back yet?
Speaker 3 (15:09):
No?
Speaker 4 (15:09):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Saturday, I put the the roof down and I started
to drive, coming from the sister Strutch. Yes, Then I
changed my mind. I said no. I said, I wait,
I'm gonna wait a little while. But because everybody, I said,
why y'all rushing me to ride with the top, Doe,
I'm all ride. We want to see you enjoy yourself. Oh,
(15:32):
I'm gonna ride, brother, don't worry. I'm going to ride.
But I'm in cherry. I mean, oh lord, I'm enjoying it.
It is, it is. It's a good, good, good good automobile.
And I like it, and it's moving. I'm enjoyed. So
I can't wait when I get that top. But I
had to practice first, tear Like, how did Terry show me?
(15:54):
He told me to pull something down in the trunk. Remember,
it's just the button. You pull the button back and
everything is it does it by itself. No shade in
the back, right. Need to make sure the shade is
back so the machine knows it's not because if it
detects something back there, it won't retract. Gotcha, So you pulled? Yeah?
I made sure. Yeah, because I was wondering when you
told me that, And I said, I got to pull down.
(16:15):
So I open the trunk and then I look in
the book and and and they said, make sure that's right.
And then so I practiced and I got it. I
got it. That's awesome. We have in great weather. So yeah,
there was in abut Cascota. They don't they don't make
that car anymore. But yeah, it looks like a brand
new car though they've even says it. Sometimes folks ask me,
(16:35):
what is that twenty twenty c And they don't believe
you too, because it looks like it's a twenty twenty six.
You got a lot of technic vehicle. How's it your technology?
Kind of it's coming, Tell it's coming. I'm coming with you.
I'm gonna get it. I'm gonna get it. It's good.
I'm good. I'm a thank you. Well when you asked
me how was I feeling? So that's how we got
it speaking, and I said, I don't complain because when
(16:57):
I saw those folks downtown, yes, you know, it's just
it's just, you know, it's kind of angless people. I
had been a long time. It's a lot of them out.
They still have the shelter for the homeless. They do
have some shelters, but I don't know how long they
can stay in. You know, sure, you know, yeah, But
Terry is here. That's right. So Terry, go in and
(17:19):
tell what your topics gonna be. Then you're gonna tell
us the topics. Then I'm gonna take a break.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
I'm gonna let you right. That's awesome. So let's first,
as we always do, let's give a super high salute
to all of our police officers, our firefighters, those who
serve in the military, active and none active. And of
course it's always our first responders. Those who work in
and around the hospitals are doctors, nurses, all who keep
(17:47):
us in good health. We salute, and we think you
all misspelled. So before I get going though the Southern
Herritage Classic, I saw some photographs. It's like, what is
it like? Eight nine thousand people down there for our sisters,
the Sisters Baby, we had seven yeah, seven thousand and
eight plus. Terry was at the Sister Strutter on Saturday.
(18:08):
It was good those folks were out. It is good
that y'all moved the date from that rainy day into that. Yeah,
and it was a beautiful day. Yeah, it was a
beautiful day. But we had the folks there. Terry, Oh
my goodness, I saw your boy. We'll leave it like
that really well, wish I got, I got. Yeah, Oh
(18:31):
I thought you saw my father. No, father wasn't there.
I saw he may have been, Terry. It was so
many folks there, man, I mean it was. We had
a pack. I saw some pictures and it looked like
folks as far as that I could see. Oh, yes,
like a sea of peace. Yes, it was, it was,
and it was, it was. It was simply fabulous. It
(18:52):
was because, you know, people coming out to celebrate breast
cancer survive and then we also looked at them celebrate
those people who have gone on right, you know. But
they were there, and I just loved it. Oh my goodness,
they brother, they were there. That's right, that's right. I
(19:14):
was gonna do my best to make it as bell.
But good news. On my end, we were busy. It
was a pretty day. There were a lot of folks
out shopping and I was thank god, I was busy.
I had I had lots to do, and uh, we
moved a lot of units but let me go ahead
and give a couple of you will. I just I
just wanted to get that number because you asked. We
had over seven thousand, two hundred people to register. It
(19:35):
was more than that out there and saw eight thousand
plus in attendance.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Also, Terry, we were able to give out one thousand
wigs to breast cancel pas and survivors. Goodness, one thousand,
one thousand wigs. That is awesome. Who's a supplier for that?
I don't know. I have to ask our promotions, our
(20:01):
regional event director Caroline. She will tell it. That's all
changed the name, but I will ask it. But yeah,
but last year we gave out we had wigs to
give out. Okay, Yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
It gets bigger and better every year it does. Yeah.
I'm sorry, Terry going It's all good. It's your world.
I'm just a squirrel trying to get anot. Okay. So
we're gonna have a couple of topics here. Of course, tariffs,
they're still on the headlines right now, terraffs and how
the terroft are going to affect the automotive market. I've
had a few people to ask me the question should
I buy a car now? And I've had customers say
(20:34):
should I sell my car now? We're gonna talk about
best strategies for you. It is not a silver bullet answer.
It's more of a tailored situation. But after the break,
we're gonna talk about tariffs and what you should do
if you're thinking about getting in the market to buy
a vehicle. Also, I told this young man I talked
to him last week and got his permission to share
(20:55):
this story. So last week I was on a test drive.
I came back from a test drive. I had missed
a couple of calls was and I returned the call,
and this young man the first thing he said when
I said hello, is this You mean to tell me
you left my granddaughter in the dealership all day and
you ain't said one word to her. I was like, wow, yeah, hey,
(21:19):
I don't play. Hey, get on your kids now, miss Bell,
you know, he said, get up, bringing out that mama,
that grandmama. Yes, get But we're gonna talk about why
was this young man so fire hot? Be if he was?
He was mad as hell Michigan? Did you know there
(21:40):
was a city in Michigan called Hell. I didn't know that, Yes, sir,
you know so I actually looked at it.
Speaker 10 (21:48):
Help.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
I talked about the places I know in Michigan and
like Detroit and ann Arbor and Ipsil and and uh.
I don't talking about Hell, but yeah, you looked up here.
I saw that say Hell, Michigan. And it's an unincorporated
community in Livingston County in Michigan. I had no idea, so,
unt Essie, I didn't say the word Hell without saying Michigan.
So I'm naming a city in state, honess. I don't
like me saying anything. It sounds like a bad word.
(22:12):
But we're gonna talk about that topic here. Ms bebout.
I'll stop it there. We'll go to the break, and
we're gonna have some good information for you after the break.
It sounds good. And already folks calling you up here online.
Hold on, callers, Hold on, y'all. We are talking with
our automotive specialist. He is in the house today, Terry Spicer.
If you have a question or two four Terry, you'd
(22:34):
like to speak to Terry nine zero one five three
five nine three four two eight hundred five zero three
nine three four two eight three three five three five
nine three four two will get you in to us.
You're listening to double You d I A.
Speaker 5 (22:55):
The Bethto saying show.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Don't go away.
Speaker 11 (23:09):
The BEV Johnson Show returns after these messages.
Speaker 8 (23:39):
Your mind.
Speaker 7 (23:45):
I'm telling you to just keep the.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
Fir around picking up the shopping show, because we have
got you.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
And I'm talking with my automotive specialist Terry Spicer. Terry,
we are going to our fountain lines to talk to
my friend Terry and my friend only.
Speaker 12 (24:15):
Hey, my Steve, Hello, my most beautiful flat African Rose Tuler,
Violet Alsaida, Radio Hall of Fame Beverley Elaine Johnson. That's you, Bill,
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
My Steve.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
No cousin, cousin, cousin.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
You owe me your car.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Man, if you gonna use my words, you owe me
your car. I'm playing bell if I'm gonna say something
to you. And I got a course for Terry Terry Man,
I'm that that family reunion on the four getting big
and bigger. We just secured two big pontoon but here
we're gonna be a hot springs down there with Piard.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
You know he retired fourth for July.
Speaker 12 (24:58):
I thought I told you, yeah, we'll.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Be down there, from Thursday to Sunday. The whole family.
Everybody is going. So if you get a chance, we
get a chance.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
Called here.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
He told me to you call him anyway.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
But Bell, let me say this.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
I got personalized tag.
Speaker 12 (25:14):
I got Wildlife all black because I got a black.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Truck and my my tags almost two hundred dollars. Now,
you know we had everybody had to get a new
license plate. You know when it changed over, this wild
was so bagged up down there. But when I went
down there, you know, I got down there when they opened,
and I think I was in line probably about twenty
or thirty minutes, and I got my tag. Now, when
when my tags go out? You know, answer work downtown
(25:39):
every thank.
Speaker 10 (25:39):
Russe the court.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
She usually walk over there on her lunch break. She
get thirty minutes, she can walk up to the cap
the kiosks, they got a kios in there, get my
sticker and walk back to work. Now, next time you
have to go down there, call me. I will drop
you off. You can walk up them stairs, get your
tags and walk right out of there.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
You Steve, you know I won't be going downtown. Well
you know it's one down by me, Bill going. It's
one down by me on Riverdale and I've used that,
but I had to go downtown because the Riverdale office
didn't have the specialty tag. So that's why I had
to go downtown and get the Delta tag and Steve Steve,
(26:21):
I actually do my tag work on line. They mailed
it to me. I haven't been to the tag office
and I don't know five six years I did that.
One year they meilt it to me. But when I
tried to do it for the especially, they said, no,
you need to come in. I said, okay, oh, I got.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
You what Terry And the reason I had to go
because everybody had to get another take right, So I
had to go down there and get the tag that time.
I think it's a last year. I went down there.
Uhe Angie got in line. I picked off from work
and uh, she got in line. I parked the car
where she worked, walked over there, got back in line.
(26:58):
I was like the phil perk and I want in
there thirty minutes, got my task. But like I said,
she usually just go on her lunch break. She'll walk
over there. They got a kiosk when she downtown, walk
up to that and they'll print the stick in your
paperwork out.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Okay, well that's good information for folks to know, Steve.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
So they do have there and.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
When you go downtown, it's probably two or three dollars
more just to get it, but it's worth It's worth
it because I ain't been down there, like I said
last year. For that, I'm like y'all, I ain't been
down there in a year. But Terry, I want to
ask you a question real quick. I talked to Staying
the other day and uh, I went downtown thurday, men
and Amber. They had ninety so many Corbits. I ain't
(27:38):
ever seen so many Courvets.
Speaker 9 (27:39):
In my life.
Speaker 12 (27:40):
Had a ball.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
But I want to ask you this because you the main.
You the car main if I ever decided when we
trade down to the car, we already see it.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
We calling you.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
But like I said, we had no more problems out
of it. Terry Stan said, you know they got a
lamborghined truck, right, Yeah, they gonna have ever have a
Corvett truck. Stan said, it was into making that.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
I think they head.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Cards with bowl in Green Kentucky. That's where the Corvet's
come from.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Have you ever heard of any any word about they
supposed to be making a Corvette truck, you know. And
I'm Bill, I'm gonna hang up at least, and I
got my buzzy. I gotta go up in these places
like all right, love y'all got.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
All right, he's he's listening. Okay, that's right, hailou. That wait, man,
let me get this. Let me you want to answer
Steve before I go to hold on, hold on the second, Luther.
So to answer that question, Steve, there are if you
go online and you look up, you can type in
any kind of car. You can whatever car you want,
and somebody probably has a concept car. I have not
(28:50):
heard an official word that a Corvette truck is coming.
As a matter of fact, they've got the electric Corvette
that I'm waiting to see. So it's there's some things
that has to happen before Corvette truck. I'm online right
now looking up. The Chevrolet. Chevrolet Corvette pickup truck is
a concept that combines the iconic performance and design of
(29:11):
the Corvette with the practicality of a pickup truck. So
this I would have. This is not from Chevrolet. This
is an AI generated response. There are videos here, I
see some other photographs twenty twenty five Chevrolet Corvette SUV
is expected to be a five seater with cargo. All
(29:31):
this this is not coming from General Motors. If you
go to General Motors website, that's the place you want
to go to see if it's coming. I will also
in between the break, I'm gonna make a call to
confirm if this is true or not. I doubt it, Steve,
but give me over the break and I'm gonna give you.
I'm gonna call one of my Chevrolet reps who's up
the ladder to see what's really going on with that truck.
Miss Beth all right? Going to our phone lines to
(29:54):
talk to Luther. Hi, Luther, I'm doing well in you Luther?
Speaker 10 (30:01):
All right, I'm doing good. Look, I'm interested in a
murder transmission? Do we ever got to sell me? Or
motor and transmission?
Speaker 2 (30:10):
What kind of car is that? Miss two.
Speaker 10 (30:12):
Two thousand and nine DTS Cadillac.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
You want to contact my good friend, our good friend
over at a Winchester title line. That's gonna be Adrian, right,
he specializes in that type of that type of we're Luther,
go over there, over there, yes and tell Adrian ask
for Adrian. Tell Adrian that that bev and and Terry
sent you over there.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
That's right, all right for you?
Speaker 10 (30:38):
Thing I gotta say, Uh, I knew you one. I'm
still looking for a third.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Chevrolet three fifty.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Pickup truck Ford Chevrolet. You said, you said a Chevrolet pickup.
Speaker 10 (30:55):
Truck, Chevrolet or gotta put my Yeah, I gotta put
my snow plow on it.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Oh you're the man. You got all kinds of stuff
going on. Yeah, so I need are okay. I have
both those models for Dodges. I mean pretty much every model,
every truck that you want. I have it in my shop.
Are you able to stop by maybe sometime today or
tomorrow or this weekend?
Speaker 10 (31:19):
Well, I'm on this. I'm on a job today, but
I can come you sit out of coveting type.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
No, I'm off I'm in Bartlett on Highway sixty four,
not far from the Wolf Chase mall.
Speaker 10 (31:28):
Yeah, yeah, okay, I know, okay, I come there. Did
they ever get that uh new design cut some uh
pickup truck Dodge were coming out with.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
I'm not sure. Did they come out with a new
design Dodge. Oh, I'm sure it's coming if it's an
electric vehicle, yeah, that's that's the that's the best wave
of that.
Speaker 10 (31:52):
Yeah. When I went to Contested, they had a thousand
peoples up there and they didn't have one.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Huh interesting you know interesting electric vehicles. You know Blue
Oval that is being built by Ford. You know, they
were they were hide and heavy about a year and
a half ago about getting that facility built and ready
to go. But they've kind of pulled back on those
electric vehicles because the market is kind of cooled a
little bit. All all of the the folks who really
wanted the electric vehicles, they have them what they call
(32:19):
the the first adopters. They got the vehicles, but the
mass the mass market is still trying to be sold.
Like Bell Bell, you'll never get her across over to
the electric vehicles. She has no interest in.
Speaker 10 (32:30):
It at all. Because I was up there, one of
them caught on the fire.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Where were you at?
Speaker 4 (32:37):
You know.
Speaker 10 (32:38):
They had the the g Convention that Littleville, Kentucky October, Okay, and.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Then they had a male and a brand new one. Okay,
let me pull this up. What's the name of that event?
Speaker 10 (32:55):
The g I E Experience and.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
Expo in Louisville, Kentucky. Okay. I see it popped up.
Speaker 10 (33:05):
Okay, well, they have all the ladies venting technology and everything,
because that's why that's why I brought my Andrea doll from.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
So a more more more burst into flames. It was
a more Is that right? It's not but Trump let
me see burst into flames. I'm pulling it up here, Luther.
I'm trying to find I'm trying to verify what you're saying.
So a vehicle catches.
Speaker 10 (33:36):
On my cell phone. I'll say it to you, but
I think it's saying I'm trying to sign out.
Speaker 9 (33:41):
Is good.
Speaker 10 (33:43):
All this modern technology is coming in. We are obsolete.
I never see us nowhere in the future.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yeah, I'm still on this. I'm still on this vehicle
that burst into flames. You got my nomber, so you
can send me that picture because all I'm pulling up
is a more caught caught fire. I don't see the truck,
the mertann sound.
Speaker 10 (34:03):
Everything called on fire too, because they said they was overheated,
but they had a dimmer truck.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Okay, send me those pictures there, Luther. I want to
make sure we give it out good information. Send me
those photographs.
Speaker 9 (34:14):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Well, when I when I get out there to see tomorrow.
Speaker 10 (34:17):
I'll bring it to you, Okay, do I have it
on that and beb tell your blood Denby, you better
get ready for that volcano that sea can hit Jellerstone
instead of word about method, protect his rib.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
All right, Luther, thank you, Luther. All right, be safe
out there.
Speaker 7 (34:37):
W D I a Hi caller, Hi, bab, This is Andrea.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Hey Andrea, how are you great?
Speaker 7 (34:45):
I've spoken with you before, and I love Missuspicer and
the next time I buy a car, I'm gonna get
with him.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Yeah, he's the man. I appreciate that.
Speaker 7 (34:54):
I've got a quick question. I've got a friend that
her daughter just bought an electric Cadillac. I think it's
a twenty four uh something like that, but anyway, I
told her it's that's that's uh that that U boat
has sailed because she's already bought it. But down the road,
I wanted to know if, if if I ever get
(35:16):
an electric vehicle, should I get the hybrid that uses
the gas and the electric or just the electric. And
I'll hang up and and let you answer, because ultimately,
I guess all of us at some point might have
to go to electric vehicles. So in my mind, I
want if I if gas, if using the gas and
(35:38):
the electric is is better having a hybrid. I guess
that's the word. Which one would be better? I'm going
to hang up and listen. Bye bye, bye bye.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Was interesting bill shaking here like nowhere. I don't know.
I don't want an electric vehicle, no, sir, really no, no, yeah,
I think myself I'm somewhat included because I work around them.
I'm more adopted to. I'll take one like the Hummer TV.
I'm still considering the Hummer EV. But what she's saying,
(36:10):
they still have vehicles out there that uses gas and electric.
Meaning when you're on a long trip, when the when
the batteries are charged, it's gonna use electric power, and
it's gonna shut off the gas engine when the electric battery,
when the when the when the when the cells get low,
it's gonna convert back over to the gas and use that.
(36:32):
So you'll have both means of propulsion gas or electric.
And I believe for those who are concerned about distance
they call it a range anxiety, then the hybrid would
probably be the better way to go, for sure.
Speaker 9 (36:48):
For sure.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
Now all electric, of course, it is what it is
it's all electric. And one of the I guess one
of the pinch points for people is if I'm driving
from Memphis to Oklahoma City, Let's say, am I gonna
have charging stations along the route?
Speaker 11 (37:08):
Now.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
A good friend of mine told me he owns Tesla,
and he says, inside the Tesla, when you're driving, it
carefully maps out charging points to show you where to go.
And I'm sure most of the electric manufacturers have are
implementing this same type technology in their vehicles to where
it will show you where the charging points are so
(37:29):
you can be comfortable. Now, the people who own electric
all electric vehicles, Miss Andrea, I don't hear them making
any complaints. I think they get used to the technology.
They know, you know, they get the feel of when
they need to charge it. Of course, a little more planning.
They're probably taking a minute or two to plan the
trip if they're going to go a longer distance versus
US with the gas engines. We just said, you know what,
(37:51):
I'm taking a road trip this weekend and just jump
in and drive out, because you know, there is gas
infrastructure all over the country. So in summary, Andrea, if
folks out there, if you do have range anxiety, and
as you know, most or all manufacturers are going to
electric vehicles. Maybe consider the hybrid one so it can
(38:13):
you can get relieved of the range anxiety. You don't
have to worry about running out of seale battery power.
You know your gas is available for you now if
you have a If you're going to be getting a
vehicle and you're going to be only in the city
and you want electric electric vehicle, there are some savings
on those electric vehicles. I think the government is even
even providing incentives for you. So strongly considerate. But miss Andrea,
(38:34):
I would say in your situation, based on how what
I'm hearing, maybe the hybrid may be the better way
to go for you. Misbel anything before we move forward, Yeah,
we still do. Let's do it. Go to our phone
lines to talk with you. Thank you for waiting. High caller.
Speaker 12 (38:49):
Yes, yes, O hey.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Oh j oj.
Speaker 10 (38:55):
Yeah uh that's in the hybrid. I met a palon.
Speaker 4 (39:03):
Two. I know he stopped making him in twenty.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Two, but you know I don't have any avalanes available
right now on my property. But I'm gonna give you
a resource here. There's a gentleman, a good friend of mine.
His name is Chris Taylor. He's over at the Chuck
Hutting store in white Haven, right there off the interstate.
He does not mind me giving you his telephone number.
I want you to give him a call. He probably
has that vehicle on his property. His telephone number if
(39:27):
you're ready, that number is nine zero one two three
three three three three zero. Give it again, Terry nine
zero one two three three three three three zero. His
name is Chrish with a K. Chrish Taylor. Yeah, Christian,
and he's a good guy. He's a good guy. Oh, Jay,
(39:48):
he's he's a good guy. Yeah, he's a super professional. Yeah,
he very professional. He'll help you. You let him know
that you talk to us, and uh he'll help you out.
Speaker 4 (39:57):
That's right, all right, Well, thank you.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
By w D. I a high caller.
Speaker 9 (40:07):
Hello, Hey Frank, how you feeling today?
Speaker 2 (40:11):
I'm feeling fabulous? How you feeling?
Speaker 3 (40:14):
I'm trying to make it. But let me share something
with young folks so they can go get a card.
No married people, I must say, let me share something
with them. When you shop married couples, young folks in
your twenties and your thirties, always take your wife with you.
Young man, Please, it's your bonding and always get her.
(40:40):
Let her give you a corn of you know, to get,
let her ideals or whatever. Don't just ignore her. Make
her feel like that she's a part of this and
what she is is because y'all won. And I'm gonna
tell you something, if you continue to do that when
you get older, you would have a right mind of that.
(41:06):
It cars and stuff is only materialistic, but your wife
is way more importing than anything. But the reason why
I did call because the man that's on here, I
spoke with him. He's a very intelligent man, very nice,
and he's gonna respect your wife. That's the main thing.
(41:28):
You're gonna buy a car. Please call this young man,
because you need somebody that's gonna respect you and your wife. So,
I mean, if anybody like me, you know, if I
tell up to play, somebody get So you're gonna need that, uh,
that respect when you shopping, and then you want to
(41:49):
stay focused while you're shopping as well, and you want
to be happy because you spending money and then you're
making your wife happy and a happy wife is a
happy life. And that's a true statement, y'all men, It's true.
But anyway, That's what I wanted to say. But you
(42:09):
can sell the god Man when you need a positive
person as yourself. You're already always polite, you always know
how to talk, you always know how to treat, and
you never make mistakes because you know why, you don't
make mistakes because you're consistent. Yes, when people are consistent,
they will make a mistake every day of their life.
That's because they ain't but a consistent person. They're doing
(42:33):
it all the time.
Speaker 4 (42:34):
Yeah, no room for.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
You know, we're human mistakes, all right, Thank you, Frank,
Thank you, Frank. You want to say, I want to say,
you know, we're all human, and we do from time
to time we make mistakes. But the thing that I do,
I'm always trying to do the right thing. Always, I'm
always trying to do the right thing, no matter what.
(42:59):
Brief brief story for those who may not know this,
but you know, when I turned nineteen, as Bell, I
was able and blessed to purchase a missus Field's Cookies
franchise in the mall of Memphis. Really briefly, let me
tell you how I was able to purchase that. It
wasn't family money. I wasn't set up to do it.
It was because I was always and I was raised right.
(43:19):
I was raised in the church. I'm always trying to
do the right thing. I was working at Tcby Treats
on American Way when it was there many moons ago.
I was making four to twenty five an hour. I
was in the front mopping the lobby. We were closed.
A young lady knocked on the glass door. She looked professional.
(43:39):
She had on a business a gray business suit. That
just comes to mind every time I think about it.
And she and I went to the door. I didn't open,
and she says, no, you're closed, But I really wanted
to get a blizzard. I saw the five dollars in
her hand, so I cracked the door. I got the five.
I asked her what flavory she wanted. What she wanted.
I went to the back, I got the drawer. I
didn't have to do all this. I got the drawer,
went to the front, put the drawer in the register,
(44:01):
rang it up, put the change on the counter, put
the receipt on the counter, made the blizzard, and took
her back the change, the receipt, and the blizzard. And
she said to me, I really appreciate you doing that.
We're hiring at missus Field's cookies. Would you be interested?
Like sure? Long story short, because some folks will go
to the back. They would just you know, do whatever,
(44:23):
keep the fire or whatever. They would. They would, you know,
because you're in the back, the drugs in the back.
I could have did anything, but I'm always working on
doing the right thing, no matter if someone is watching
or not. She happened to watch every step of the way.
Long story short. After that conversation, about two years later,
I bought that business by always doing the right thing.
(44:43):
I'm gonna tell you a story coming up here shortly
about the gentleman who called me fussing at me, and
at the end, we're like bosom buddies. Stand by for
this story, but misbe if anything going on before we continue. Okay,
I'll go ahead. How much time before the break? H jes,
let me take the break? Okay, let's do it. Let's
do the break. Let's do it. Let's do the break, Terry,
(45:05):
let's do the break. We are talking to our automotive specialist,
y'all see why. He knows automobiles, and he's gonna give
you the best advice you can call Terry five three
five nine three four two eight hundred five zero three
nine three four two or eight three three five three
five nine three four two as we ask the expert.
(45:29):
Right here on w D I a the Bev Johnson Show.
Speaker 13 (45:45):
Got something to say? Say it next with Tennessee Radio
Hall of Famer Bev Johnson on w d iad to
(46:18):
bring you out.
Speaker 14 (46:20):
Day never.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
And we're back with our automotive specialists. Terry Spicer, Terry,
thank you, my beautiful radio haul or family. We are
back and we're talking automobiles. Steve asked the question before
the break. He was saying that he had heard that
a Corvette truck was in the making. So I made
a few I tried to contact Mario Venezuela. He is
(47:04):
a general motors rep. I think he now works in
the mid I want to say the down in Texas somewhere.
I believe he used to be over our region. But
he didn't answer. So I called a couple of my
Chevy stores, James Martin over the Chuck Hutting Store. He
answered and he verified for me, Steve, there is not
a Corvette truck in the making. He's he did say
(47:25):
what I said, It's there is probably a concept car,
and who knows who makes these concept images and put
them online. People see images online and for some reason
it becomes truth. But as of right now, Steve, there
are no Corvette trucks in the making. It has not
come down the pipeline to US dealers.
Speaker 4 (47:44):
Now.
Speaker 2 (47:44):
If it's something that they're drawing up in a rumor
got out, that's a different story. But nothing is being
planned right now for a Corvette truck. Good idea though.
Also I did verify with mister James Martin. He is
a manager for the Chuck Cutting Store right off of
a what is that Mount Moriah and fifty five or
what is that right down the road from us. He's
on Mountain Raah, the Chick Cuting Store. Yeah, yeah, what's
(48:06):
that Interstate here? Is that forty?
Speaker 4 (48:09):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (48:11):
Yeah, anyway, so he said that they do have right now.
It just landed two weeks ago. The electric corvette. He
said that they it just got there two weeks ago.
So if you want to see what the electric corvette
looks like, he has one in his showroom, a black one.
You ask for James and tell him I sent you,
miss Beth. Can I move forward? Yes, sir, Okay, so
(48:34):
we're gonna talk about a couple things here. We will
talk about tariffs as far as like should you buy now,
should you wait? Should you sell your car? Should you wait?
We'll talk about that. But let me talk about a
situation that I that I had last week. And I
did give permission to tell this story. So again, I
was coming from a test drive and just for your information,
(48:57):
is bad, folks. I still operate like a salesperson because
I love the art of putting deals together. I love
serving people and talking about cars. But I'm actually not
a salesperson. You would think that I am. They actually
pay me. I get paid a salary. My job is
so I'm over the social media marketing or all things marketing,
(49:18):
kind of like what I'm doing now. So I do
all the social media, I take all the photographs. That's
what I get paid for. Because I'd love to serve
so much. I will take test drives with my customers
and go over technology and answer questions that they may have.
Speaker 4 (49:34):
Now.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
The technology is super advanced now, so some things, if
I don't know the answer, I don't guess at it.
I'll bring out some of my technology experts to give
folks all the information. So anyway, I was on a
test drive. I came back from a test drive last
week and I had missed a couple of calls, and
I like to always return my calls as soon as
I'm available to do so. So the calls are coming
back to back, and I said, it must be urgent,
(49:56):
so let me find out what's going on. So I
call the number back and the first thing I hear
is and I quote you to have had my granddaughter
all all day and you ain't said hello to her.
And I'm like, who is this? He says, well, my
name is Redmond. Mom's like, well, who will? I don't Redmond,
(50:17):
who my granddaughter's there? So he told me his granddaughter's name.
I didn't tell her. I was gonna say her name,
so I won't. So he told me her name, I says,
I says, mister Redmond, your daughter. She to give you
a little bit of a backstory in the whole summary
of this year is I think there was a communication lapse.
So this is what happened. The daughter and mother. They
were kind enough to travel all the way from Saint
(50:41):
The mother lives in town, the daughter works in Saint Louis.
She drives all the way down from Saint Louis so
that I can serve. She passed many dealerships to come
to me and that means a lot to me. And
we got her into the twenty twenty five Buick Encore GX.
Really nice vehicle. It should serve her will for the
(51:01):
work that she does. So she bought the car and
she left and went back to Saint Louis. The next
day she did, she called me and said that she
was having some connectivity issues. And that didn't surprise me
because I can recall the night of that we were
doing the delivery, the own Star would not activate. And
(51:22):
that's not uncommon. When that happens, the vehicle it needs
a firmware update, it needs it needs to get a
computer update. When that happens, that is not uncommon. So anyway,
since she was all the way in Saint Louis, she
took it to a Buick GMC dealer up north. Now,
they didn't sell it to her, so when they took
(51:42):
the vehicle in, I'm not one hundred percent sure of
what they told her, but I know it was. It was.
It made her panic, and I'm gonna paraphrase I'm probably
not gonna say this, right, but she said that that
dealership said this vehicle has a manufactures era in it.
I think to that effect that translated to her as
(52:05):
electrical problems. She communicated that to Granddad, who had in
his mind, Okay, this vehicle has electrical problems. It needs
to go back to the dealership you bought it. And
he would be correct. If the vehicle has electrical problems, yes,
you need to go back to the dealer who sold
it to you so they can make good on it.
So I wanted to give you the backstory so you
(52:26):
can see why, and I'll give his name here, his
full name. In a moment he did give me a
permission to do so, but this is why he was
in protective mode of his loved one, of his daughter
or granddaughter. So just to give you the context of
why he was fireheart again, I called back and his
question to me was, you've had my granddaughter all day
(52:48):
there and you have not said hello to her or anything,
and she's so Anyway, when I got back, the granddaughter, yes,
she checked this out. We don't have many courtesy cars,
meaning if someone comes in to get work done, there
are two or three cars that we had. We used
to I mean before the pandemic, there were multiple cars,
(53:09):
but now since the pandemic that you'll find that most
dealers don't have a lot of them. They may have
a couple of little two or three or four. Some
may have a little bit more than that, but not
a whole bunch. But I wanted to make for sure
that when she came back just for this work, she
had something to drive. So we actually provided her a
courtesy car. So she came in at seven forty five
(53:31):
that morning, got the courtesy car and left and did
her thing, and I told her, I said going to
be in that the day she came up, I told
I was going to be in at eleven o'clock. So
I was in my office doing some work. She passed
by and said, hey, I'm back them. I think they
want to check on my car. I was like, well, great,
everything working out? She said everything. Everything seemed to be fine.
So she left and I kept doing my work. Then
(53:52):
she came back and said, okay, I'm about to head out.
I said, awesome, they got everything worked out. She said,
I believe everything is okay. So she left in an
hour or so later. Is when I got that call.
And again I do not blame granddad for being protective
of his granddaughter. We all would do the same thing.
So anyway, the granddaughter she came back and she was
(54:17):
up when I saw her this time, she was literally crying,
and I'm like, what is what did I miss? What
is going on? And again I think it's a communication thing.
So she was upset because they wanted her the family
wanted her to leave the car and they were gonna
just pick her up. And I'm trying to figure out why,
(54:39):
why are we doing that? So and I'm trying to
be and she's a beautiful girl. I even joked with it.
I was like, not really joking, but just she's the
type of girl that you could marry. She's a beautiful girl.
She has a career going. And I was saying to her, well,
let me get back to the point. So I said,
if you leave the car and walk away, that doesn't
(55:00):
help anyone. You leaving the car, it's gonna be a
voluntary repossession on your credit. About I says now, I said,
if there is an electrical problem with this car, I
am the first one to fight for you. I went
back to the service department. I talked to the foreman
who runs the old service division and the tech who
performed the firmware update on the vehicle. When I walked
(55:22):
in and said she wants to turn the car back in,
they looked at me dumbfounder, like what what's going on?
So anyway, I got back on the phone with Granddad
and I conveyed the message to him that and they
printed it out. It's in writing, there are no electrical problems.
There are no issues. There was a firmware update. And
I believe once he found out because he didn't realize
(55:44):
that she had a courtesy car, so there was information
not getting to him, so he first thought it was
electrical problems. And I don't blame it. If there was
true electrical problems, we need to get her out of
that car, that's for sure. But it was not electrical problems.
It was a connectivity issue and a firmware update needed
to be installed into the vehicle. So I took a
test I said, I said, mister Redmond, let me take
(56:06):
a test drive with her, because I have not yet.
So I stopped everything I was doing. We took the
test drive and everything performed like it was no issues.
At all. So when we got back, she made a
communication to granddad. Granddad called me and mister George Redmand
the third sir, I love you because the energy you
(56:27):
gave me, because of the information that you had. I
don't blame you. I would be fussing to it someone
if I felt like someone sold my granddaughter. And his
words were this, and I do not blame him. I
don't want granddaughter driving around and the car just stop
on her because of electrical problems. I'm with you, and
I'll be the first one to pull her out of
that car. But once he got all the information that
(56:47):
it was not an electrical issue, that we did provide
great service. We provided her courtesy car so she can
keep moving while she was there, because she traveled in
just for this. I took that test drive where that
I wanted to make for sure that there were no issues.
There were none, so we got backed. We hugged it up.
I told the whole family I love them, and I
actually called it today to check on I hadn't heard
(57:08):
anything yet. But here's the point I'm going to say that,
you know, miss Bev, I have been doing this car
thing now for a decade. I always try to always
do the right thing even when no one is looking.
That that has taught me a lesson. Going back to
that story about me buying that tea that Missus Fields franchise,
(57:30):
I was blessed and able to buy that franchise because
I always try to do the right thing even when
no one is looking. And when you operate like that,
it's hard to screw up. I treat people as if
you're my blood family. If there is a vehicle that
I have knowledge of that there's a problem with it,
it's an issue. My customers are not going to look
(57:51):
at that car. It's going to be reported to management.
It needs to be pulled out of inventory. So when
you deal with me, and let me remind you, I'm
not a salesperson. I don't get paid a commission if
you buy a car. My salary is the same every
two weeks. But I do this out of a passion
and a love to help people. I want to make
(58:12):
for sure that people get the best deal. I want
to make for sure that people are not being taken
advantage of. So when you deal with me and let me,
let me move on to this next little part here.
That was a gentleman I said, I was going to
say his name. He gave me a permission to do so.
His name is Marty Boyd. He stopped by a few
days ago. He and a friend of his were looking
(58:33):
for a Nissan. Now I have some Nissans, but they
were pretty particular on what they wanted, and I told
them that I can get that Nissan for them through
the Smart Auction or through a Dessa. I can get
that vehicle in. But when they said, well, we want
to get the vehicle certified, I says, well, you have
to go to a Nissan store. They actually they had
(58:53):
already found the car that they wanted. They just wanted
to make for sure they were going to get a
good deal for it. So when I show old him
what I can get him and the price that I
had for mine was the same price as a Nisign store.
But third car is certified, I said, mister boy we
don't need to talk anymore. That's the car you need
to go with. The same situation that happened with the
lady that came to me. She wanted to buy a
(59:14):
brand new twenty twenty five Chevy Trailblazer. She was pretty particular.
She wanted the exterior body of the vehicle to be
white with the black roof. I went to Smart auctionj
just to give you the context for this. I don't
sell brand new Chevies at Sunrise Barlet, but I can
(59:36):
get one pre owned with a thousand maybe one thousand
miles or whatever the mouths or I can find that
vehicle practically new at the auction and I can bring
it in and I can certify it. So this was
my plan. If she were to go down to Sarah
Chevrolet as an example in Barlet, and she can buy
herself a twenty twenty five Buick trail Blazer with no
mouths on it, her warrant is going to be five years,
(59:58):
sixty thousand miles. My plan, and I said, you come
in to see me. I'm gonna find the vehicle on
the Smart Auction. I'm going to bring that blazer in,
then I'm going to certify it, which is going to
give you six years, one hundred thousand miles of powertrain warranty.
We were gonna work the system and get her more
warranted without her paying for it. But because she was
(01:00:18):
pretty particular of the style and the look of the vehicle,
I couldn't we didn't have. It was too new but
not I think it was maybe one or two out there,
and it wasn't the right color. So I always make
for sure. And I can say this here, mister John
and Janis Bowers of a couple of weeks ago, they
(01:00:40):
bought a brand new gmc Acadia. She couldn't be more happier.
They were also looking for a truck, and a particular truck.
So because I didn't have this particular truck they were
looking for, I gave them all the information they needed
if they go to another dealer ship of how to
(01:01:00):
get a successful deal. And she will vouch for that.
She could. You don't have to call Jennis. I know
you will, but she can. She'll tell you that. My objective,
even if you don't buy a car from me, when
you leave, I'm going to set you up to win
at your next stop, because that is what makes me happy,
Miss Bath, is to serve and to make for sure
(01:01:23):
that my newfound friends are getting the best deal. Anything happening.
Let's do it. Yes, let's go to our phone line
w D I A hey caller, Hey beb Hey Terry.
Speaker 14 (01:01:36):
This is Pat from Kark, Illinois. Hey Pat, I look
forward to winning space.
Speaker 6 (01:01:44):
So I can hear Jerry is trying to convince me
to gon and get this car. My husband is retiring
next month, and he keeps telling me, baby, we got
to get a new car. No, we don't need any car.
Speaker 14 (01:01:56):
But anyway, I'm like, Terry, I need to hear about
the terror situation.
Speaker 6 (01:02:03):
So you know that'll that'ld way way my decision.
Speaker 14 (01:02:08):
Sure, sure, because I have I currently have my my
my I'm a one owner of a Kia Optimum I've
had since twenty Eighteen's got like a one hundred and
twenty one thousand miles on it, and I do have
a little Yeah, brand new had five miles.
Speaker 6 (01:02:31):
On it when we got it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
How many miles now?
Speaker 6 (01:02:34):
One hundred twenty thousand, nine hundred and seventy eight.
Speaker 14 (01:02:37):
I'm sitting in and.
Speaker 5 (01:02:38):
That that's a mountain.
Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
So you drive, you drive a lot of miles?
Speaker 7 (01:02:42):
I see, so dispurment.
Speaker 8 (01:02:44):
Pardon me?
Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Do you drive a lot of miles? I'm saying I'm
calculating about about twenty thousand miles a year roughly. Do
you drive a lot?
Speaker 5 (01:02:50):
Not?
Speaker 14 (01:02:51):
Not anymore? Not anymore?
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:02:53):
You know I've gotten older and I like taking a
train in the plane.
Speaker 8 (01:02:59):
So, but he was working.
Speaker 6 (01:03:02):
I was taking him to work.
Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:03:04):
So now that he's already retire next month, He's like, well, baby,
you were supposed to check on the lease, and you
were supposed to check on.
Speaker 8 (01:03:12):
What are you going to do?
Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
You shall to put you to work.
Speaker 6 (01:03:19):
I'm going to I just want to know if this
is Do I sell my car, I keep my car?
Do I lease a car?
Speaker 12 (01:03:28):
What do I need to do?
Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
Great?
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
Let me ask you a question you don't have to
give me. Is your score is it over? Would you
say it's over seven hundred? Your credit score?
Speaker 5 (01:03:38):
It is?
Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
Okay? Well at leasing can be an ouption for you.
Speaker 6 (01:03:40):
It is?
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
Now how many miles? So let me make sure I
get so you bought that vehicle in twenty eighteen.
Speaker 14 (01:03:44):
Right, twenty eighteen. We bought the car in September twenty eighteen.
We were just going to go and get a low
finance rate.
Speaker 12 (01:03:54):
That's what we were.
Speaker 6 (01:03:55):
Supposed to do because I had a key of soul. Okay,
And he was like, well, they're going to just.
Speaker 14 (01:04:00):
Because his credit improved tremendously, He's almost.
Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
At eight hundred.
Speaker 14 (01:04:04):
That's awesome, is only like six seventy but that's okay.
Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
Right, if you're eight hundred and six seven and you're
still good, that's just still good. So you bought it
September twenty eighteen, So let me do some maths. So
nineteen twenty, twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, twenty four,
So that's seven years. And what's the miles again?
Speaker 14 (01:04:20):
One hundred, twenty thousand, nine hundred and seventy eight and
seventy eight.
Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
So I'm gonna do some maths. I'm gonna divide that
by seven. That's seventeen thousand miles a year. And you
say you don't drive as much.
Speaker 14 (01:04:30):
Anymore, right, No, cause I don't take them to work anymore.
Speaker 6 (01:04:35):
I won't be taken on the work. He's retiring next month, gotcha.
Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
Awesome? Awesome. I was gonna say, now, now that's good information. Now,
if you were consistently driving the seventeen thousand miles a year,
leasing might not be the way to go unless they
got some kind of special incentive out there. But seventeen
thousand miles is a lot, fifteen to twenty is a lot,
twenty five is excessive. If you drive between ten thousand
to fifteen thousand, that's about normal. We're real close to normal,
(01:05:01):
even with these miles. But let's go to the because
one of my topics is about the terriffs, and I
had a customed mind. He called me and he asked
me the question about a truck. He says that he
probably wouldn't mind if I say his name, but I'm
not because I didn't give permission to give this story.
But he bought a truck not long ago and he
was thinking about selling it. He asked me, should I
sell my truck or should I trade? And here is
(01:05:22):
my response to that. We are in a We are
in a time right now that in my life I
haven't seen. Bell verified that she hadn't seen this before,
where a president is putting tariffs on neighbors, neighboring countries
and China and followed nations for that matter. He's putting
tariffs on all these countries. And as you know, vehicles,
the parts for the vehicles are made all over the world.
(01:05:44):
So even though the entire car might not be tariff,
parts may be the engine of the metals. So we're
in this funny time to where we're trying to find
out what's going to happen. And Miss pat we're gonna strategize.
This is what I told the gentleman who called me
on the phone the other day. Same thing for you.
We need to pay attention to what's happening with the market,
because you know, I think miss Bellviche is the terriss
(01:06:07):
on pause again. I think, I really it's changing. He's
just crazy. It keeps changing fast. So check this out.
Let me give you the extreme. Let's say the teriffs
are put into place and it drives the prices of
the of the of the automotive market. I said, the
prices go up like it did in the pandemic. If
it if it does like it did in the pandemic,
(01:06:29):
we have a playbook what you would want to do,
and I'm just giving you an hypothetical situation. Let's say
in two months prices jump back up for use and
new cars. What you would want to do is to
go and sell your car, and but don't buy. Sell
it while the market is high, get all the money
(01:06:50):
out of your car, even even more because there'll be
a high demand for it. But and then you need
to sit down or use a second car and just
do not buy. Because we got the play book, we
know the market is going to eventually get back to normal.
When the market gets back to normal, that's when you
buy because you buying at fair price. Same thing I
(01:07:11):
told the guy they called me on the phone. Now
I'm giving you these hypotheticals because no one knows because
the President keeps changing if the tariff is going to
be in play, if it's not going to be in play. Now,
let's say here's another hypothetical. Let's say nothing happens. And
by the way, miss pat if you read the automotive
sales for last month, the market did really well because
(01:07:36):
people are fearing that the terroriffs are going to make
vehicles expensive, and they will be writing in that fear
because if the terraff's going to effect, then prices are
going to jump up. So people are trying to buy
ahead of it to make for sure they get a
good deal. So here's some advice for everyone. If you're
thinking about buying a vehicle in the next three four months,
maybe like kids are going back to school after the summer,
(01:07:58):
people like to go and buy cars for for the
new college kids. It might be a good idea to
definitely watch the market, but it may be a good
idea to go ahead and make your purchase a little
bit in advance if you're planning to do it anyway,
versus waiting till the market gets high and then you're
overpaying for a vehicle. Miss Patt, I probably gave you
a more information than you bargained for. But did I
give you something that that is of a value?
Speaker 6 (01:08:22):
You know what, Terry, you always give me something of value.
I still want to keep my Optima.
Speaker 8 (01:08:28):
My husband is so hell being on getting a new truck.
Speaker 6 (01:08:32):
I don't want to ask you be so. I was
hoping you were going to say, just keep your car,
you know, don't don't trade it in.
Speaker 1 (01:08:39):
That's what I'm hoping.
Speaker 6 (01:08:41):
I don't want a new car with the one I have.
Speaker 2 (01:08:44):
Hear Let me, let me, let me add some mispat
let me ask you he's looking he's looking for a
pickup truck right, No, No, no, he.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
Wants an.
Speaker 6 (01:08:54):
I told him when we go he can rent an.
Ask you lead. I don't need to ask you, Va.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
I'm fine with the well.
Speaker 6 (01:09:02):
Two years and no car notes. Already three years of
no car notes.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Here's a question for you. Have you done any repairs
on the vehicle since you've paid it off? Nine that's awesome.
Speaker 6 (01:09:13):
There was a recall Onkia Optimus H two years ago,
so they put an engine in here for free.
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
You know what you got going on?
Speaker 3 (01:09:21):
Because the engine came on.
Speaker 6 (01:09:24):
It came on a couple of times, and I take
it to the tea dealer they put the and they.
Speaker 14 (01:09:29):
Gave me a rent car for that month that they
can't pick because it took forever for them to give
me my car back.
Speaker 6 (01:09:34):
But no, I don't I don't want to trade my
car in. And I was hoping that you were going
to say something as your question.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
This may be helpful because a lot of people are
like you, me and Bev with the same way. Why
don't you want Why do you not want to trade
it in just so you cannot have a note?
Speaker 7 (01:09:51):
I don't pay the.
Speaker 14 (01:09:52):
Note anyway, So he doesn't really mad about that.
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
So I always tell folks when you have a vehicle,
because the vehicles for me.
Speaker 6 (01:09:58):
I don't want to ask you to be content when
you have something that.
Speaker 8 (01:10:01):
Works for you.
Speaker 9 (01:10:02):
That's right, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (01:10:04):
Yeah, I'm seventy one years old.
Speaker 14 (01:10:06):
I want to live, you know, drive a limo every week,
and that's what I do for a living.
Speaker 6 (01:10:11):
I'm a limo driver.
Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
You're seventy one. Yes, in July, you got some you
You sound youthful, You are blessed. You sound good. Hey,
before you get.
Speaker 6 (01:10:26):
Off of my mom is ninety one, So I'm good.
Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
That is a blessing. Here's some advice for those who
because I have this happen quite a bit. Folks may
have a vehicle with a bunch of miles on it,
and they like me and bell. If you get the title,
you don't want another note. And I always tell folks
at some point in time, because it is a machine,
it is not going to last forever. If you think,
if you're thinking about maybe getting something else, I always
(01:10:51):
advise folks to trade it or sell it while it's
running good. That way you get all the money out
of it. What you don't want to happen, which it
happens to quite a bit of us. You'll drive the
car till it doesn't run anymore, and then you try
to go and pivot and get something new. When the
value now is going to be If you take it
to a dealer and try to trade it in not running,
(01:11:11):
they're going to give you two or three hundred dollars
for it versus if it was running, that could be
thousands of dollars. So I always tell folks to kind
of plan out in the future, what do you think
you want to do? How many miles on it? Because
you know cars we try to get two three hundred
thousand miles out of them. And that's good if you
do that, But if you're generating those mouths and you're
going to be putting more moles on it, maybe considering
(01:11:33):
selling it while it's running and the no chickens in lights.
That way, you get all the value out of the car,
and you can start with something either pre owned, certified,
or preferably brand new. And by the way, before I
got into the car business, I myself would always buy
pre owned certified cars because I was scared of buying
a new car. But here's what the people that buy
new cars. The reason why, one of the reasons why
(01:11:57):
they buy the new cars is because they use the rebase.
If they're looking at a car that's a fifty thousand
dollars car, it may have a rebate or of five
thousand dollars or so on that vehicle, which is basically
five thousand dollars off. It doesn't say five thousand dollars off,
but that is what a rebate is. So still consider
And while I'm on the subject, a lot of my
(01:12:18):
customers they have challenge credit and they come in looking
for something a used car that's cheap. I have to
give them their information to say, if I can get
you into this car with two hundred thousand miles on it,
which your challenge credit, but your interest rate is gonna
be twenty percent. But check this out. I can go
to a new car, brand new, no miles, full warranty
with a rebate three or four thousand dollars rebate to
(01:12:40):
go with your two or three thousand dollars down, and
you're gonna probably get a rate in that's gonna be
half of the twenty percent. Maybe it may be twelve
thirteen percent, but you have a vehicle under a full
warrant that so consider this family. When if you have
challenge credit and your first thinking is to go and
buy something cheap, your rate is gonna be high because
it's going to be high risk to the bank. Look
(01:13:02):
at something new with the rebate. But miss Patt, I'll
probably give you way more than your bargain for keep
me updated. If you don't mind on what husband does.
And you say you live where.
Speaker 6 (01:13:12):
And call your man Park Illinois, right outside of Chicago.
Speaker 2 (01:13:16):

you tuning into the Bell Johnson the Queen Bee? What

I love you back. I'm doing nebulous.
Speaker 14 (01:18:35):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
Orlando?
Speaker 9 (01:18:37):
Doing pretty good?
Speaker 4 (01:18:38):
Doing pretty good?
Speaker 9 (01:18:39):
I have always listened to Terry, but I never called
in to ask him a question. But I got one
to fore him now, and well I actually got two questions.
He mentioned something about the New Cause and then he
mentioned the words certified. What do certified mean when you're
speaking about New Cause? One is certified, another one that's not.
(01:19:00):
There's set definition to what you mean.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
Third a fact, great question, Orlando. I'm glad that you ask,
so I can give clarity for other folks who may
not know the difference. So a brand new vehicle, Orlando,
from the manufacturer. And again, different manufacturers have different powertrain
warranties or warranties in general. I'm gonna be speaking about
general motors. I work for a General Motor store Buick
GMC store. A brand new GM vehicle, the powertrain warranty
(01:19:27):
is gonna be five years, sixty thousand miles. That's gonna
cover the engine, the transmission, or anything the motor oil
comes in contact with under the powertrain warranty. It also
comes with the bumper to bumper warranty. It's gonna be
three year, thirty six thousand miles bumper to bumper to warranty.
So that covers like your radio, your buttons, knobs or switches,
(01:19:49):
things that shouldn't malfunction. It's covered now, winshield, wipers, the
tire getting low. Of course, that's normal wear and tear.
Those are things you replace yourself. But things that should
should not wear and tears covered under the bump of
the bumper warranted now, so that's for a new car
a pre owned certified vehicle. One of the ways manufacturers
(01:20:10):
keep the value of their vehicles up it's with their
certification programs. So the certification vehicle the powertrain warranty. Again,
from a new car five year sixty on the power train,
a certified vehicle, your powertrain warranting moves to six years
one hundred thousand miles. That's more warranty than a new car,
(01:20:31):
and if you buy it at the right time, you
can actually get more warranted than a new car. Bump
and the bump of the bumper moves from a three
year thirty six up to a forty eight month bump
of the bumper coverage. So the new car comes with
a powertrain warranted for five year sixty and the used
vehicle it goes to a six year one hundred thousand.
You may say, well, why is it. That's kind of
(01:20:52):
odd that they would do that. Well, again, it's a
way that the manufacturers keeps the value of their vehicles
in the marketplace. They keep the value you how because
another thing that people may not know is when you
look at a pre owned certified car and it's being
submitted to the bank your interest rates, They almost look
at that car like a new car. You can get
(01:21:12):
almost new car interest rates on a pre owned certified vehicle,
mister Orlando, Was I able to give you clarity there?
Speaker 9 (01:21:20):
Yes, sir, because one of my next question was going
to be, I have a XT four, got like HT
four and it's got one hundred and read it, one
hundred and twenty nine thousand miles on it?
Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
Right now?
Speaker 9 (01:21:35):
Would that cover well anything like that come on or
that dealership that.
Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
Well, what year is it, mister Orlando?
Speaker 4 (01:21:42):
What year is that vehicles?
Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
Nineteen twenty nineteen? And did you buy new or pre owned?
Speaker 9 (01:21:48):
It was pre owned?
Speaker 2 (01:21:49):
It was pre onned. Not that you have to know
the answer. Do you remember remember the miles on it
when you bought it?
Speaker 9 (01:21:55):
Like, well, I bought it. I gotta hear it two
years man, I haven't even put five thousand miles on it.
Just so you've had one hundred and twenty five thousand
on the one I got it.
Speaker 2 (01:22:03):
Okay. So the answer to this question is you can
get warranties when you go to the dealership. Now that
that vehicle does not sound like it would have had.
Speaker 8 (01:22:14):
You.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Did you buy it from a Catillac store or a
GM store.
Speaker 9 (01:22:17):
No, sir, I bought it from a private owner.
Speaker 2 (01:22:20):
Okay, well it will not be certified then. Speaking of that,
if you if sometimes when folks are out looking for
a vehicle, if you try to buy a vehicle certified
to the CarMax can't certify any cars. They may add
their own warranty to it. But I just want to
put that out there too, because I know sometimes people
will think that they can buy a low mild vehicle
(01:22:41):
and get it certified at a CarMax store. Only the
manufacturer can certify the car. So here's an example. If
you're looking for a Lincoln vehicle and you want it certified,
you can only get that at the Lincoln store. So
to answer your question, if you bought this from a
private person, then no, sir, you would it would not
(01:23:01):
have any warranty on it. You would have to get
that warrant through your credit union. I would visit your
credit union, tell them what kind of car you have,
and they're gonna they some and the credit unions do
different things, so you definitely want to call them and
ask you because they may ask you to go and
get it inspected first and bring them to the inspection paperwork,
and then once they know the car is working and
(01:23:23):
running fine now, then they will provide you a warranty.
I had a good friend of mine a week ago.
She has a twenty sixteen Buick Verano that she bought
for me. I think, I want to say back in
twenty sixteen. But anyway, her had she had an extended
warranty on it that was going to be expiring on
the fifteenth yesterday, and she doesn't put a lot of
(01:23:45):
miles on it, and she says, you know what, I
want to go ahead, and I don't want to buy
a new car. I just want to put warranty on
this car. So she came in and bought the premium package,
a three year, thirty six thousand miles full warranty to
go on top of the vehicle. And he told me,
she said was fifty four hundred dollars. I paid fifty
four hundred dollars. But that's gonna be cheaper than me
trying to go and buy a new car right now,
which makes sense. So I'm probably giving you more information
(01:24:08):
than you ask me for Orlando. But if you do
want to if you do want a warranty, you can
check with your credit union. You can go by the
Cadillac store and see if they they will provide your warrant.
You go by then and see what their warranties will
cost you, or bring it by my store, Sunrise in
Bartlett on Highway sixty four. Now, because your vehicle most
(01:24:29):
likely doesn't have warranty, what they're going to ask you
to do is you're gonna spend the I want to
say the inspection fee is roughly one hundred and fifty dollars.
That number is not accurate, but it's somewhere in that ballpark.
They're gonna ask you to get the vehicle inspected. Once
it's inspected and you go to the front to buy
the warranty, that one hundred and fifty dollars it will
be absorbed in the cost of the warranty. So it's
(01:24:49):
not like you if you do get the warranty, you're
not paying for the inspection and then paying for the warranty.
They're gonna minus that from the warranty cost. But is
your vehicle Is it run? Think okay, mister Orlando, Yes.
Speaker 9 (01:25:02):
Sir, matter in fact, it is running so good since
I've owned it, I've been own it. Oh, I own
it over a year and uh change the only thing
I did for it. You know it's I ain't never
had a car that talks to you and tell you
when it's time to change the oil.
Speaker 2 (01:25:16):
That's awesome.
Speaker 9 (01:25:16):
It tells you everything.
Speaker 4 (01:25:18):
I think.
Speaker 9 (01:25:18):
It's telling me I need to get get a filter
change on it now somewhere.
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
Oh that's awesome, man.
Speaker 9 (01:25:24):
You know I never I never had cars to tell
you where it's time for you to do something.
Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
You know, these news all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
Yeah, these new cars, mister Orlando. We have cars now
that when we're driving, you can say, okay, Google, uh,
take me to give me the directions to the nearest
Starbucks with your voice, and then it pulls up on
the screen of map and gives you directions. So this
voice technology is definitely in style now. I mean, that's
that's what what manufacturers are competing again. So they're all
(01:25:51):
trying to do one better than the next manufacturer. So
it's going to get better and more convenient for us.
That's another people always ask why car is getting more expensive.
This is a part of the reason. And all this
technology they're putting into these vehicles.
Speaker 6 (01:26:03):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
And of course inflation has a big role in that too.
But it sounds like you got your stuff together, mister Orlando.
We certainly appreciate you well.
Speaker 14 (01:26:12):
This question.
Speaker 9 (01:26:13):
Now, if one of the things I know dealerships, I
carried it in for us. That was the first time
it told me it was time for me to change
the oils. So that I had it and I carried
it to a dealer to get it changed. So they
was running a great ad on the on the on
the on the radio. But when it came down to uh,
what a matter of fact, television and radio. But when
I got there, the aid that they ran all at once,
(01:26:34):
it caused me more than what they had was to
change the or So you could be careful about this
sort of thing. But one of the things I worried
about with the car is that you know, builders is
in the business of selling cars, in the business necessary
of fixing cars.
Speaker 4 (01:26:49):
And this was my sex.
Speaker 9 (01:26:50):
Of course, if I don't if I own a Cadillac,
what I want a kid to a Cadillac dealership to
have them do all the work on it.
Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
I would recommend going to the Cadillac store. But any
GM dealer shop, any Chevrolet Buick, GMC store. Cadillac store
can do the work because it's the same company now,
But it depends on what type of work though, because
the Cadillac they are their own entity sort of speak.
So if it's if it's if it's a if it's
(01:27:18):
a really technical thing that needs to happen, you want
to be at the Cadillac store. Let me also say
this here too. I have customers that will call me
about the work that they're trying to get and people
like to take their vehicles to the dealership to get
the work done because that way all the records are kept.
But I want to just tell all the listeners out
there when you go when you go shopping for a car,
(01:27:39):
you're probably looking online and comparing prices. You want to
make sure you get the good deal. That's not really
happening on the service side, but I would recommend to
you sometimes it may be a good idea to get
a second opinion. If it's going to be a big
price to get something fixed, take it to the dealer
and then take it to a good reputable You know,
there's several mini shops we men built. Talk about one,
(01:28:01):
but it's always a good idea if you can if
you can afford in the car doesn't have any problems
moving around. Get your second opinion, because if you compete,
if you compete on the service side, right, if you
compete on the service side, they got to they have
to know. The price can't be because you know, if
you just go to one shop they say this is
the price and stare at you. If you don't say, well,
(01:28:21):
let me get a second opinion, then that's what the
price is gonna be. So just just so keep that
in mind. I know that maybe sometimes people may think, well,
I don't want to do that. It's gonna be a
lot of hassle, But if you want to save money,
that's what you have to do. Even my customers that
come in to buy a car, the folks that get
the good deals are the folks who don't have to
(01:28:42):
get a car that day. Those are the folks that
get the good deals. The folks who don't you know,
they don't have any wiggle room or they have no
other options, They're gonna pay. That's just the simple truth.
Speaker 9 (01:28:54):
Yeah, you know, one of the things. One of the
things about the car I have, and I know, but
I didn't put no more about over a year and
I ain't putting no more about four.
Speaker 4 (01:29:03):
Hous of miles.
Speaker 9 (01:29:04):
I really don't drive it here in Messige. I've driving
mostly when I go out of town. That's what I
bought it for on the road, you know, driving sure.
And uh, and I got a truck that's a ninety
second and right now it's when I bought it, and
they bought them. Shows you how old I long I
have had it. I bought it at Lewis Forward. Oh wow,
so it was in nineteen ninety seven. Yeah, and now
(01:29:26):
it's running great.
Speaker 4 (01:29:28):
And uh.
Speaker 9 (01:29:29):
People see it and they say, ain't you ready to
sell it? Because you know I keep it, you know
in garage most of his life, and it's got a
nice paint job and everything. So he say, no, I
ain't ready to sell it as long as it's running,
but I want to set it for Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
Some folks like to keep their vehicles for sentimental reasons
or just because they it's a classic to them.
Speaker 9 (01:29:46):
Yes, sir, well that's what they called me. When I
carried it to a shop for for all a change.
The guys came back out and he said and he said,
you got oh, you the guy that got the antique truck.
Even realized me.
Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
I said, Antique, what.
Speaker 9 (01:29:57):
What kind of truck you're trying to He said, that's
food out there. I said, man, I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
Gonna he's giving you a compliment. That's a good thing.
Thank you, all right, You're welcome and appreciate you that
that is definitely a compliment. Hi Jannis, Hello, how are
you all willing yourself? Is this is this? Is this
(01:30:21):
the Jannis? Oh yes, that's the lady you met last week?
Miss Bell?
Speaker 10 (01:30:26):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
Yeah, yeah, interesting enough, real quick before you get going,
Miss Jennings. I was talking to Miss Jennings. She says
she's been listening to Bill for a long time. She's
a lawyer, listen to w d A. I said, have
you ever met miss Bell yet? She said I hadn't
met her yet. I said, well, I got a surprise
for you. Come around the corner and Miss Bell was
in the showroom. That just that was just And I
got a picture of you, of both of them on
my on my Facebook page, So check that out, Miss Jannis.
(01:30:48):
Thank you so much for colling. What do you got
for me today?
Speaker 8 (01:30:52):
Oh Terry, I just want to say thank you for
the word that you were done for me and John
You're very awesome, your heart, your compassion person, and I
really appreciate you. I am enjoying that twenty five Arcada.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
That's right.
Speaker 9 (01:31:08):
What I like?
Speaker 8 (01:31:09):
That has some super crews and it drives itself.
Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
Wow, I'm afraid of that.
Speaker 8 (01:31:15):
Jams a little bits to Miss Tad that called in
and did not want to get rid of her awtimate.
Now the what is it?
Speaker 1 (01:31:24):
The kill?
Speaker 2 (01:31:25):
Yeah? The kill?
Speaker 8 (01:31:28):
Okay, So what John and I, you know, we always
think about our future. We're getting older and sometime we
get a little nervous and we don't want to drive.
So that's how come I got a car that can
drive itself on the highways and expressed it.
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
I did say that.
Speaker 8 (01:31:42):
And other things in these cars, the new cars, they
parked themselves. They they will talk back to you, you know.
Uh the google of this Google that.
Speaker 6 (01:31:52):
It's just a lot of new.
Speaker 8 (01:31:53):
Technology and a lot of safety features on the car.
Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
Did it save you any money on your insurance, miss
missus Jennie.
Speaker 8 (01:32:00):
Yes it did because US provide a safety package. Uh,
and so I got that and then plus my car
got all these safety pictures on it. Yes, you know
our insurance they did go down and Terry.
Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
He helped.
Speaker 8 (01:32:15):
So, you know, we just was looking and I traded
in my terrangeing alley.
Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
I think it was a twenty one beautiful and.
Speaker 8 (01:32:26):
And Terry was like, I'm gonna do two deals in one.
Speaker 7 (01:32:28):
And I'm like, look at my husband.
Speaker 8 (01:32:31):
Oh, We're not gonna get two trucks at one time.
Speaker 1 (01:32:34):
But my we were gonna do it.
Speaker 8 (01:32:37):
My husband slowed around and thought about it. By the
time we made our mind up, somebody had bought the
truck that he wanted. But Terry did give me the
information of the bank that approved us, and blah blah
blah blah blah blah. So we was to another dealership
when we did get the truck. Another truck for Johns.
So we have two trucks and yeah, two white trucks,
(01:32:59):
his and hers. And I am, you know, just enjoying
the new veto for now. When I want to go
somewhere and John does not want to take me, I
get in Marcada and I hit the super clue.
Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
My girl, you are a brave sister. You are a
brave sister.
Speaker 7 (01:33:19):
It changes lane for you, it would slow down for you.
Speaker 8 (01:33:23):
You don't have to do number Sit there, that's.
Speaker 2 (01:33:25):
Right, that's right. She's talking about she's talking about. If
you're wondering what she's talking about, she's talking about a
twenty twenty five GMC Arcadia and a lot of the
GM GM cars are coming with that self driving technology. Now,
miss Jennes, it drives on the major roads, not the
back roads, right, fact.
Speaker 8 (01:33:44):
The major roads like highway and the expressways, you would
drive that, but not the back rock that's right. But
you know, as long as it get me on the
expressway in that highway, I'm fine.
Speaker 2 (01:33:56):
Answer this question. Let me ask this question, Jannis. So
you are sitting are you sitting under the wheel?
Speaker 8 (01:34:03):
You sit in the seat, Okay, I'm sitting under the wheel.
The camera has to see your fade.
Speaker 3 (01:34:10):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:34:11):
You just takes off the wheel and you take your
feet off, your foot off accelerator, and it does everything
for you. It would slow the truck down when it
gets too close to vehicle, It'll change the lane for you.
Speaker 2 (01:34:24):
So you know, I'm and miss Jennis. If you if
you take your attention away from the wheel, what happens?
If you if the camera sees that you're distracted, what happens?
Speaker 8 (01:34:33):
It would start flashing red and it'll tell me, it's
going out of super cruise mode.
Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
Oh, keeps it. It keeps you making It makes for
sure that you are staying focused on even though it's driving.
It's making for sure you are alert and not falling asleep.
Speaker 8 (01:34:46):
Correct, that's right.
Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
It's a great technology.
Speaker 8 (01:34:49):
And so you know, this is my retirement car. I
told you the only way I get another a new
car is they start flying space.
Speaker 2 (01:34:57):
The only ring missus, Dennis, go fly in space. You're
gonna fly in space?
Speaker 8 (01:35:02):
One no, no, no, no, no no, you might have
to have specialize.
Speaker 2 (01:35:07):
That's right, all right, sister, Well, thank you for explaining that.
That's great.
Speaker 8 (01:35:12):
Yes, yes, it was a pleasure meeting you too, Miss Johnson.
Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
Can you too, Jannis, be safe out here, be safe?
That thank you, Janie till john I said, hello, I
will do, thank you all. Thank you. Bye bye, Hi, Barry,
hey beb hey.
Speaker 14 (01:35:31):
Hey Barry.
Speaker 4 (01:35:33):
Look you gave me such a good deal about five
years ago, and now I need two things from you.
I just heard where you are, and I'm so proud
of you. Thank you, and I'm thankful for you for
giving us all this knowledge and everything. Yes, now to you,
you know you the Queen of queens and your every fact.
(01:35:54):
But I'm with you on that. I'm gonna tell you
that son has never fallen and his name is but
ain't nowhere in the world. I'm gonna let.
Speaker 2 (01:36:06):
You got that right, You got that right.
Speaker 4 (01:36:09):
And it goes like this and hey, and different structure
for different folks. I'm just for old school, and it
goes like this, anything man, make wheell.
Speaker 2 (01:36:19):
Break that's right, and there will that's right.
Speaker 4 (01:36:22):
So that's I mean, that's just for me. Everybody else
you do whatever they want to do. Now what I need.
I got where you're at on sixty four you said sunrise.
Speaker 2 (01:36:32):
Sunrise, Yes, sir, on sixty four where we actually sit
on or we share the same corner as the Sam's
in Walmart. So if you know where the Walmart and
Sam's warehouse is in Bartlet, we sit right there in
front of them.
Speaker 4 (01:36:46):
Okay, I'm on sixty four now, Okay, yeah, I know exactly.
But now the other thing is I know this. I
got two things happening. I need a car thirty five hundred.
It needs to be a car to get me back
and forth the work. Then I need a mechanic.
Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
Okay, we can help you. Yeah, we got you covered
on both those.
Speaker 4 (01:37:11):
Ends, okay, and uh, when I want to come in
and talk to you personally, yeah, you know, okay, because
you did such a great deal and everything, so I
know where you are and you can give me all
that information.
Speaker 14 (01:37:26):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:37:26):
If I don't get in there, it's going to be
a young lady coming there by the name of Sandra Boys.
If I'm not with her, Sandra Boys, and I'll tell
her I talk to you today. She might get through
there today. I'll say give her between today. If soon't
get in there today, I'll get in there tomorrow for
(01:37:46):
awesome and uh, and we'll we'll talk from there. What time?
What time is a good time for you tomorrow?
Speaker 2 (01:37:54):
Today, I'll make it back to the dealership at about tomorrow.
I'll be there at eleven a m. I'll arrive tomorrow
at eleven am.
Speaker 4 (01:38:04):
Okay, So okay, she gets off at three, so I'll
probably get through that today. I got some running to do.
I'll probably get through that today. That's awesome, Okay, Hey man,
thank you, and I'm proud of you. You deserve your
own shot man. You bad boy man.
Speaker 2 (01:38:23):
I appreciate it. I always do the right thing and
treat people like family. You operate like that. You can't
go wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:38:29):
Yes, you man, there you go. That's what God looks right.
Speaker 6 (01:38:33):
Thank you, Barry.
Speaker 2 (01:38:36):
Before we get ready to get out of here, Terry
email says, good blessed afternoon. What good blest afternoon to you,
Sheery and Terry. What is a rebuilt title?
Speaker 7 (01:38:50):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
That?
Speaker 2 (01:38:51):
I think they're referring to a vehicle that has been
in an accident. It has been like a total loss
in the vehicle has been rebuilt. When that happens, the
title gets rebranded as a rebuilt I think that's what
they're referring to. When the Let me repeat it in summary.
If you are looking at buying a vehicle and the
(01:39:12):
title says rebuilt or salvaged, that means that vehicle has
been in an accident. It's been most likely a total loss,
and someone that still purchased that vehicle and they have
rebuilt it. The caveat which you must know if someone
wants to buy this car just to get from point
(01:39:32):
A to point B. It may be an okay vehicle,
but you must know if you try to If you
buy this vehicle and at some point you try to
trade it in, whatever the value is supposed to be
for that car, and it has a rebuilt title or
salvaged title, the value is going to be cut in half.
So let's say the value is supposed to be five
(01:39:53):
thousand dollars for this car, if it hasn't been in
a total loss accident, that would be the value. When
they see that title or they see that car fax
and it says it's been you know, and it's been
a total loss in it and it has a salvage title,
the value is going to be twenty five hundred dollars.
That's what I tell folks who are looking at buying
cars that have salvage titles. Just know that you you
(01:40:14):
must know what you're getting. If you buy it and
it drives great. Hey, it may work, but you just
know that if you try to sell it and get
out of it, the value is in half. I believe
I answered that question all right. Last words, you like
to say this day you've been walking today. They worked
me today and I love it. Y'all always call and
work me. I love to get our information. Sometimes when
(01:40:35):
you ask questions, it will allow me to give the
answer to that and maybe add something extra that I
was going to probably add but didn't have the context
to put it in. Let me give a few shout
outs before I get out of here. I want to
give a super big shout out to Jerita Richison. She
came in about herself a brand new GX. I want
to give a super high salute to my friends Demon
(01:40:56):
Young and Ramon Young. They miss bev April sixth on.
That was a Sunday, I believe, or maybe the fifth,
but anyway, a couple sundays ago, they bought their mother
a brand new twenty twenty five buick Enclay. When she
came to the dealership on that Sunday, she thought that
(01:41:18):
she was coming to the dealership to watch one of
them pick up their cars. Let me see what was
that day? Yeah, that was a fifth No, no, she
came on the sixth. So you can go and check
out the video. We don't have to be friends, but
you definitely want to look at this video. Go to
Facebook type in Terry Spicer. I have on a blue suit.
The video was posted on April the sixth, so scroll down.
(01:41:39):
It's a real That video of miss Bill has gotten
fifty over fifteen thousand views because I captured her coming
in not knowing what's going on, and he said, pull
the sheep back off the car. The sheet went back
and he told it that was hers, and she screamed.
She couldn't believe it. But a big shout out to
those young men, the missus Dora Young. She got a
(01:42:02):
brand new beautiful Buick Enclave. And Jack Winley, who's a
sales manager there, he walked over. This is on the
film too. He says, I've been doing this for thirty years.
I have never experienced anything like this. It was a
really special moment. But big high salute to those fine people.
Big shout out to my friend Carrie Grater who purchased
a certified twenty three Chevrolet Traverse.

Speaker 2 (01:42:23):

My friend. Cassie La Bounty bought herself a brand new
twenty twenty five Buick in Vista, which is the hottest
selling vehicle right now in the market. If you want

it's going to be the Buick in Vista. It sells
more than any other car right now in this market place.
(01:42:45):
Miss Lisa gil Chris bought herself a twenty five GX.

and the sun got himself a brand new twenty five
GX and the reason why family people are buying the
Encore GX. Check this out if you want to get
some savings and you do not have to trade. But
check this out. If you own a two thousand and
(01:43:30):
eleven or newer none GM vehicle meaning it cannot be
a Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac. If you own it
it's at the address where you live, you qualify for
a three thousand dollars rebate. It's what General Motors called Conquest.
You can trade, but you don't have to. Matter of fact,
(01:43:51):
it could be your spouse's vehicle, her non GM vehicle,
and you're going to qualify for a three thousand dollars rebate.
On paper, it looks like down payment. So imagine if
you have Challenge Credit and you got a three thousand
on a rebate and you were already putting two thousand
dollars down. The bank is gonna look at that as
if it's five thousand put down on a brand new car.
(01:44:12):
It's hard for them not to approve that. So keep
this in mind. If you have Challenge Credit and if
you want to come by and visit with me again,
you don't. I would love for you to buy your
car from me, But if you don't buy your car
for me, I'm gonna give you the information you need
