Wakem It gets my day going and makes me laugh.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
I of it.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one o
five point seven. Well, good morning, Smitty, Good morning. Welcome
into your Wednesday, into wet one, that's for sure. As
we saw, of course, those showers last night into today,
and they'll basically stick around on and off light rain
throughout the day across West Michigan and cool tap size
only into the mid fifties.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Real hard to get out of boud this morning. We'll
just say that.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Without a doubt. I did say yesterday I had multiple
things going on baseball and softball games. Amazingly, the rain
made my schedule clear right out last night.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
It no, Yeah, my best friend's still sat in the
lacrosse game.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
You know. I gotta tip the cap to lacrosse parents
and soccer.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Parents across and soccer parents.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Yeah, you guys are going at it. That's where you
sit in the car and you just honk a horn for.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Good plays, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
It's the celebrities scoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Man, I posted this news almost as soon as it
broke yesterday, and I had so many messages just saying
not Norm. George Went, famous for his starring role in
the long running NBC show Cheers, has passed away, His
family confirming the news that George died early yesterday morning,
passing peacefully in his sleep at home. An official cause
(01:24):
of death has not been given. George's family remembering him
as a doting family man, a well loved friend and
confidante to all of those lucky enough to have known him.
Of course, Went starred as Norm Peterson in all two
hundred and seventy five episodes of Cheers. He earned six
consecutive nominations for a Prime Time Emmy. Growing up in
(01:46):
Chicago as one of nine kids that set him up
for some solid comedy. He joined Second City after graduating
from the University of Notre Dame. He was in shows
like Taxi and Mash before getting that big break on Cheers,
but only seventy six, which just feels so young to us.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Man, It definitely does, and what an icon for Cheers.
When I think of that show. When I think of
George Went, I think of him at the bar in
Sears like I picture his. There's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Great George I Isham's people are sharing this morning coming
up in next hour Scoop. One of his final public
appearances was actually with Woody Harrelson and Ted Danson. It's
a really fun conversation. Justin Bieber is making a head
turning admission, and it is definitely not helping those rumors
of marital woes. So, Haley Bieber has landed the latest
(02:37):
cover of Vogue, and Justin is admitting, during a huge
fight the couple had a couple of years ago, he
threw at her, You're not good enough. You would never
get something like a Vogue cover. Haley looks pretty great.
She talks about everything, marriage, motherhood, modeling. But yesterday, on
his Instagram stories, Beebs writes, I told Hales she would
(02:58):
never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes. I know,
so mean. For some reason, because I felt so disrespected,
I thought I gotta get even. I think as we mature,
we realize that we're not helping anything by getting even.
We're honestly just prolonging what we really want, which is
intimacy and connection. So baby, you already know, but forgive
me for saying you wouldn't get a Vogue cover, because
clearly I was sadly mistaken. Kind of a fifty to
(03:22):
fifty reaction here. A lot of people are like, already
owned ump to it, but some people, including a few
of the Kardashians Haley calls friends, were like, bro, that
was actually pretty terrible.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
It was terrible, but he said it was terrible.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
What really doesn't that I wouldn't have posted it, like,
you know, like what everybody's talking about right now. And
the last thing I think Haley needs is people going,
you married a serious red flag. Right She's already stressed
out enough. I'm sure finally cover your ears if you
don't want to be spoiled. We have another Voice winner.
It went down last night season twenty seven of The
(03:55):
Voice on NBC, and you're a big winner.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
The winner all the Voice is David.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
Adam David, the thirty five year old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
been doing it a long time. A winner.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, so that is from coach Boublay. That is Michael's
second consecutive win as coach. A lot of people were
really excited about this. David was born and raised in
South Florida. Started playing the guitar at a super young age.
He has been six years sober and performs at rehabilitation
centers every week, hoping to inspire others. He actually had
(04:34):
an interview with Deepest dream Thing. I always come out
with little simple melodies, things on the guitar. I just
like to have fun and it's scary to put yourself
out there, but it's really worth it when someone connects
with you and you change a life. So sounds like
a really good dude.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, very cool. On A big shout out to Iris
Herrera from New Wago, nineteen years old, finished fifth on
the Voices.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Ar right, all of your celeb Scoop at West Michigan
start off.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
He's selling a fine points youah, have a good morning
to you, trying to make it that are feeling good
right now. It's Mackett Schmitty And you know what, I
just got to give a shout out Schmidty to Tulip
Time because the numbers are in in the twenty twenty
five version of Tulip Time that went down of course
from May second through Mother's Day May eleventh, the largest
Tulip Time ever. Oh there we go, pretty cool, drawing
(05:18):
over nine hundred and seventy six thousand visitors, almost a
million right there to the Holland area during that time.
That's thirty percent more than last year and the largest
in the history of the ninety six years of tulip time.
Really cool. I love this statistic though, four point five
million tulips. Man, that is a lot of flowers to
(05:39):
keep alive.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
I know it well in Hollyds.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
That's stressful over there. But the economic impact of more
than fifty million dollars expected there in tulip time for
twenty twenty six already in the work. So congratulations.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
All right.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Sean Horn is all about Detroit's professional sports teams, but
when it comes to playing, he's a high school golfer.
He goes to Renaissance High School in Detroit, and along
with nonprofits, they're making a huge difference in getting clubs
into the student's hands, specifically black students. In fact, community
(06:14):
groups have done the numbers in only about fifty five
zero of the more than fourteen thousand high school students
in Detroit School District play golf on school teams. This
is a big deal. There's so many challenges. Obviously, it
is an expensive sport. A lot of times you don't
grow up in a family that may be played golf,
but this is also a lifelong sport that can have
(06:36):
serious implications to your future, and that's why they are
working towards this. At least two nonprofits offer programs that
teach kids how to play golf. If you've heard of
First Tea Detroit, they have served up dozands of kids
the opportunity to learn golf. They provide high school and
college scholarships. And for Shaan Horn and his high school coach,
(06:57):
Jesse Hawkins, you literally see it making a difference in
the community.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
In my community, when we're growing up, it was just
not a recognized sport.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
It wasn't something that was well respected by our community,
let alone invested dance.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
We put got more golf clubs in black kids' hands,
and just in the black communitian in general. I think
it will elevate us to a whole nother level.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
So I want to.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Play four years in college, get a good education, and
from there on that to use golf as a social tool.
And you know, of course business deals are made on
the golf course. John, keep trying to telling light. When
you get thirty forty fifteen, I'm dang.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Sean was right, Dang Sean was right. Carl Bentley is
the chief executive of First t of Greater Detroit and
says it beautifully. Golf is the why we get them here.
But while we have them there, we're teaching them life. Yeah.
You can check this out at West Michigan Star dot
com Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
It was very sad news yesterday George Wentz, best known
as Norm Peterson on Cheers, passing away at the age
of seventy six. His family confirming the news, saying the
actor died yesterday morning, peacefully in his sleep. We don't
yet have an official cause of death, but I thought
this was so sweet. On One of his final public
(08:16):
appearances was actually alongside his Cheers co stars in August
of last year. If you didn't know, Ted Danson and
what He Harrelson do a podcast together called Where Everybody
Knows Your Name, and the trio actually reminisced about their
time on set, how they got to where they were Wentz.
Wentz was born in Chicago, had some time at Second City,
(08:39):
did a few odd jobs before landing that massive Cheers Show,
and a lot of it had to do with hard
work and maybe a little friendly connection.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
Well, I just kept working, you know, in the workshops,
and you know, Jesus, the first time I ever applied
to myself at anything, and so you know, it was
really fun and I dug it. You know who my
buddy us in the workshop, Brandon Tartakoff, whoa Yeah, isn't that.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Weird amazing brand basically responsible for Sheers thaying on the
air that first year.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Yeah, full circle moment And if you haven't gotten a
chance to listen to the episode, it is so much
fun to watch the three of them together in honestly
just one of the most beloved TV characters in norm
of that entire generation.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Tea. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
It was bombshell testimony yesterday from Regina Ventura. This is
Cassie's mom, appearing in a Manhattan court amid the Ditty trial,
and she revealed some shocking details about her daughter's relationship,
including the fact that the family had to fork over
twenty thousand dollars to Ditty. So here's the deal. This
(09:46):
is Regina's testimony. She said, did he demanded twenty grand
from her and her husband in order to recoup money
he had invested in Cassie's career. So if you're not aware,
for a time Diddy and Cassie broke up, she started
dating artist Kid Cutty, and testimony says that really really
infuriated Diddy. He went at her family single listener, no
(10:08):
longer together, you owe me. I put all this into
her career. Regina said her and her husband had to
take out a home equity loan in order to cover
the amount, and when asked why she took out a loan,
Regina answered, for the safety of my daughter. I was very,
very concerned, she said. Diddy's bookkeeper center Info with wire
transfer instructions, they sent it and then five days later
(10:29):
the money reappeared in her account with no further communication
from Ditty or the company. This will be very interesting
because it was also confirmed last night that Kid Cutty
will be testifying.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
That's interesting, that's gonna I'll be interested to see how
the hip hop world receives Kid cutting testifying against Diddy.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I think he has a lot to say personally, and
I think we're gonna just learn even more about this
twisted world. Finally, Hailey Bieber on the cover of Vogue
this month, talking about giving birth and saying, not lying,
it's the hardest thing I have ever done, detailing a
grueling eighteen hour labor where she thought she was gonna die.
(11:11):
It's the first time we're hearing this. She suffered a
postpartum hemorrhage and recalls the fact that she was sitting
there going, I am not going to make it through this.
She's also very open about postpartum, calling it the most
sensitive time she's ever gone through in her life and
learning a new version of herself very difficult as well.
Adding to be doing all that while going on the
(11:31):
internet every day and seeing people going, oh, Haley and
Justin are getting divorced, they're this, They're that, they're doing this,
They're not happy. It is truly a mind blow. I
can't even begin to explain it. It's a crazy life
to live. That doesn't make it any easier, But I
definitely have the support I need.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, the amounts of pressure I feel like that the
moms put on themselves, specifically when their first child is born,
and making sure everything is going right. To think of
the entire world watching every move while you're doing that,
that's impossible, all right.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
All of your celeb Scoop at West Michigan.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Start off out, come on it too. It's Mack and
Schmitty And honestly, looking at the picture of your alarm,
Schmitty gives me anxiety.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Does that make your chest tighten?
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
And that's actually a light today. I couldn't fit everything
in one screenshot. So I was watching the Today Show
the other day and they had on a doctor. I
say it that way because she didn't have any good
news for us. We've heard it in the past. Pressing
the snooze button is actually very unhealthy. It is not
good for you to continue to kind of fall back
(12:32):
to sleep only to wake up to another alarm and
then maybe doze off wake up to another alarm. So
this is doctor Rebecca Robbins who is on the show.
Speaker 5 (12:40):
Pressing the alarm in the morning and then hitting this
news alarm under the idea that maybe I'll get a
little bit more sleep. But this is one of our
biggest myths, the idea of setting one alarm and then
getting a little bit more sleep. Unfortunately, what that first
alarm does is it's interrupting some of the best stages
of sleep. The best solution is to set your alarm
for the last possible time and commit to getting out
(13:01):
of that, which can be challenging.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Who does that? I would love to know what monster
listening right now actually only sets one alarm and then
gets right out of bed.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
I'll throw my hand in the air. That's I don't
even use an alarm.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
I'm really sorry, okay, because I'm not trying to be
a jerk, but you've been late to work.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
I have been late to work maybe like like time. Okay,
but I will use that one alarm and I don't
even use it. So my alarm is set every morning,
and I wake up every day at least five to
ten minutes before that alarm. My brain just goes off.
My biggest problem with the one alarm.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
A little skeptical now, it's.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
How it is the only lar. The biggest problem with
the one alarm thing for me is because I turn
it off before it goes off. Like I don't ever
let the alarm go off because then it would be
wake my wife up, and unless I didn't wake up,
you're not going to hear it. But that's the most
dangerous time. When you wake up, you turn off the
alarm because I don't have another alarm set if I
(14:04):
do pass out right, I could never do that. I
would but I but I don't almost ever because I
woke up on my own.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
So what's your last What is your alarm set at?
Speaker 1 (14:12):
My alarm is set for four twenty and that's it.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Okay, So I about an hour and a half earlier
than you. My first alarm goes off at three oh five,
and I posted this to our Facebook because I do.
I have a three oh five, three twenty, three, thirty
three forty five, four oh five, four or fifteen, And
then I set a four thirty because that is my
last possible emergency alarm. Four thirty. I can get up.
(14:35):
I can literally just throw pants on and be here
in time for my traffic report at five am. But
it's insane, the bark, and it makes me feel better.
I could never I could never ever set one alarm.
I would never sleep.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Okay, so one alarm. I can understand why that would
make you squeamish. Two alarms. I completely get at three alarms.
If we're starting, what you have here is straight up insanity, SHITTI.
I don't even know. My problem with your alarm setup
is do these actually go off every day because that
would drive me in.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
No, it depends on when I can really commit to
getting out of bed, and then I'll turn them off.
But Steven popt in. I've got three four thirty four,
forty five, five fifteen.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Yeah, that's forty five minutes apart. I can understand the
last one, but man, those ones in the middle seem
like they're just pure damage.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
I think we're just very different people. I am so
anxious about oversleeping. I do two morning shows here. I'm
the traffic reporter. I started this job as the producer.
I was coming in ten to four. I get so
anxious that I think I've I can't, I can't not
set that many alarms to make sure I don't oversleep,
(15:49):
and I think I'm in the majority. Six one, six,
four five eight, one oh five seven, Doctor Robbins, I
don't know you know where she's from or what her
accolades are. She's this is so unhealthy. I want you
to call in and see if you can beat my
six alarms. I know we've probably got some truck drivers
listening right now too that are like girl, I set
(16:10):
like fourteen of them four one oh five, seven or
hit us up inside our iHeartRadio app with our free
talk back button.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Good morning to you. It's Mackagevidio. Wednesdays, we keep it
real with you with.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Another Okay, you cannot lie and say that you have
not once or twice rethought about doing something with your
kids because of the weather. So tomorrow my son has
his very first field day. Also fun is it because
it's fifty five in rain?
Speaker 6 (16:41):
So I.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
Signed up to be a volunteer because that's it's a
huge thing to me. I try to do as much
with my kids at school as I possibly can. And
we get an email from his principal yesterday that literally
is like, gotta love Michigan weather. We are planning on
doing this, so dress your child accordingly. We have put
a lot of effort into this. It's gonna be fun,
(17:04):
but a coat, hat and gloves would probably be a
good idea. And I was sitting there last night like
I'm doing the morning session. So it's like not even
going to hit the peak of fifty five. I was
already wet yesterday. It's gonna be wet today.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
You got a preview.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
I gotta be honest with you, if I didn't just
for a few, well longer moments than I'd like to admit,
think about maybe faking sick and calling off a field
day tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
There is not a sounds off. You're right, you are right,
And I do love it when parents own up. I'm
gonna go that You're like, you're making You're making the
poor parent decisions.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
I'm gonna wear boots, are you kidding me?
Speaker 1 (17:53):
And honestly, after you eat a full dinner and no,
I have baseball practice coming up at seven o'clock for
the next two hours. There it's not a part of
me that's like, oh, I can't wait to go do
this is.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
So glad I'm a dad. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
It's the celebrities gooop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Well, there's just so much we're learning about Cheers. Star
George went after the announcement of his passing yesterday, his
family saying he passed yesterday morning peacefully in his sleep
at the age of seventy six. The beloved Norm Peterson
from the hit NBC show at a start in Chicago
when he was on the Second City stage. He had
(18:34):
parts in shows like Taxi and Mash before hitting it
big with Cheers, but something I didn't know, and I
don't think a lot of other people did either. His
nephew is Jason sudeikis what Yeah, what I said. So
George's sister Kathy is actually Jason's mom, and it's something
that people kind of discovered later on, and it's really cool.
(18:55):
He was in a great interview with the Still Here
Hollywood podcast talking about what he had to give to
the generation of Jason.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Did you have any device for him when he got
into the business.
Speaker 6 (19:07):
You know, it's funny because he gets asked that a
lot of does a Slatterman or Khenen or somebody said,
did your uncle George have any advice for you? And
Jason goes, yeah, he told me, just get on the
best show on television and one of the greatest shows
of all time and just pretty much take it from there.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
And it was shortly after that Jason landed on Saturday
Night Live.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Oh that's well, that works out pretty well for him.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Yeah, so I thought that was pretty great. Tons of
celebrity tributes more pouring in this morning. We've got those
up at West Michigan Star dot Com. Let's get to
some drama. It's not going to surprise you. It has
to do with Bill Belichick's girlfriend, Jordan Hudson and his
ex girlfriend Linda Holiday, who apparently got into quite a
(19:52):
tussle at a Christmas party. So here's the deal. Someone
has discovered an incident report happened at a party last
year and it was apparently dja'ed by Linda Holliday's twin daughters.
Linda dated Bill for almost twenty years. They broke up
(20:12):
and it was shortly after that he met Jordan. Well,
Linda was at this party. All of a sudden, Jordan
walked in and she was not happy. According to documents,
it was a security video that saw Linda confronting Jordan
with a few of her friends, saying, you need to
back off. She thought it was wildly inappropriate that Jordan
would show up to something that her daughters were DJing.
(20:33):
There is also another woman involved named Melissa Sebpini. She
was hanging out with Jordan. She was also Miss Massachusetts
when apparently Linda, who has a huge role in the
pageant world, told SUBPOENI, if you value your current title,
you'll think twice about who your friends are. Holiday also
had she had many powerful friends in the pageant organization
(20:54):
and subpoenas out in the corner and sobbed. Apparently at
some point Jordan did leave the party, and no one
is commenting.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
About at this point, why is the pageant scene like
what if the most hardcore Oh my gosh from Honey
Boo Boo on up.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
If you have never seen the movie Drop Dead Gorgeous,
it will change your life about pageantry.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
I mean, I saw Miss Congeniality. Is that close?
Speaker 3 (21:15):
We've also got rumors that Jordan has told at least
one friend her and coach Belichuck are engaged. Dude, so
saying this ring on your finger? I think Bill's family
is probably annoyed with it. He's got kids, He's got
There's been drama there with some of the kids talking
about this relationship and age gap.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
He's got kids that are twice her age.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
She has a dad that's younger than Bill Belichick. I
still can't get past that. Finally, Travis Kelsey may have
broken the internet over his back hair. Did you see
this yesterday? So the NFL superstar is working out in
Florida for some pre season stuff and he made his
way to his car yesterday and decided to pop off
(21:59):
his shirt and short words to kind of towel off
before changing. The pictures have gone viral. The dudes got
like some intense back hair, with a lot of people
going red flag, red flag, somebody writing red flag, somebody
writing really tailor couldn't take care of that, honey. She's
got an entire stylish team. While there are other people
(22:19):
that believe it is a very manly, man looking thing
that I have to tell you, almost every person I
follow yesterday posted these.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Pictures, so there's a lot going on back there or
so that.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
It just seems patchy. Like his front chest looks so manly.
You know, you can get on with your bear self.
I get that, But the back end it's just a
little odd, like maybe we wax.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Basically last week. You know what. As a man who's
also got patchy back hair, I gotta just defend him.
There's nothing we can do about this. Do you want
to you want to start waxing your back?
Speaker 6 (22:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (22:51):
I have some fabulous places you can go to all
of your celeb scoop, including the Travis Picks at West
Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
It's back and shitty. Look at it. Get you to
the theater specifically, our Grand Rapid Civic Theater, bring in
one of Broadway's biggest hits to the stage.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Oh it's Waitress. Mark it down June sixth to the
twenty ninth, and we've got your tickets with Battle of
the Sexes. The number one answer is going to win it.
One hundred men surveyed. Name something that would cause you
to panic if your hand got stuck in it?
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Lah, you would panic no matter where your hand gets stuck.
I don't care if it's a can of pringles, you're
going to flip out.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
I need a hand like all of us, they're important. Yeah, six, one, six, four, five, eight,
one oh five seven. One hundred men surveyed. Name something
that would cause you to panic if your hand got
stuck in it? Collar seven. You get that number one answer.
You're going to see Waitress with our Grand Rapid Civic Theater.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Good morning, sir. Who's this Mike, Mike from Kalamazoo. Let's
get you to waitress with our Grand Rapid Civic Theater. Mike.
One hundred gentlemen like yourself, rest to name something you
stick your hand into that would cause you to panic
if it got stuck.
Speaker 6 (24:00):
That's an odd question.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
I've never heard that question. I'm really a little torn
on this, so I'm like.
Speaker 4 (24:08):
I don't know, like a a meat grinder, try to grind?
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yeah, a meat grinder. I gotta be honest, Mike, You're
you're very close. But meat grinder is not listed on there.
But yes, if your hand is stuck in the meat grinder,
panick the better said, and because that's not gonna be good.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
Yeah, that's an odd question, but I love I love
the question.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Nobody's looking for ground hand. Thanks Mikey my god, Hi Star,
who's this, Lindsey, Lindsey, Mike just gave me a guess.
When one hundred guys were as to name something that
you stick your hand into that would cause you to
panic if it got stuck, Mike said a meat grinder, which, yes,
(24:51):
that's definitely gonna make somebody panic. However, that was not
on the list of top answers. What do you think
it is?
Speaker 5 (24:59):
I'm going to say, like an animal cage.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
An animal cage, Yeah, depending on what kind of animals
on the other side of it, that would definitely be freaky.
That's not on there, though, I'm sorry, Ah, all right,
thank you, Thanks Lindsey, Hi Star. Who's this, Chris? Chris,
where are you calling from today? Hi? Chris. I've gotten
a couple of guesses so far, one hundred guys. We're
asked to name something that if you stuck your hand
(25:22):
into you're get to a panic if it gets stuck.
So far, I heard a meat grinder, which was not
on the list but would definitely make you panic. And
I just heard an animal's cage. Yeah, I mean, if
there's a tiger on the other side, you're getting a panic.
If there's a bunny on the other side, probably not
so much. But that was not on the list. So
what do you think it is, Chris?
Speaker 5 (25:42):
I'm gonna say garbage disposal.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
You're going to say garbage disposal. I think that every
single person who has a garbage disposal has had that
sort of day mare of getting your hands stuck in
it when the when the disposal gets turned done. I
mean we've all imagined that before, right, Yeah, you drop
a or something in there, you gotta go get it.
(26:05):
And it doesn't even matter if, like you'd have to
throw a switch when you're down in there trying to
pull something out. You're just a little freaked out that
somehow it's gonna be turned on all by itself one
hundred percent. And that's why drained garbage disposal is the
top answer. Yes, it was, it was drained, followed by jar.
(26:26):
I mean you could get it stuck in there and
then I guess never get it out or something. Uh
your nose was the number three answer. Yeah, you get
a finger stuck in there. I think I've got my
kids doing that before. And then uh, toilet. Yeah, you
throw your hand into a toilet and get it stuck.
That's a perfectly justifiable reason to panic. Congratulations, you are
going to see Waitress with our Grand Rapid Civic Theater.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Great, thank you.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Yeah, this should be a really cool show, and we
are trying to get you in as well. We'll give
you another chance. Battle of the Sex is eight fifteen
again tomorrow. You're on Star Wars five point set. Good
morning too, It's Mack and Schmidty. And I'll tell you
something that doesn't feel good setting. When your kids out
smart you.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Looks like they're a little brain ninjas.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Now, it really is a humbling experience. And my son
gave me a pretty good one the other night, right
in front of his mom too, which is gonna make
this one sting a little bit longer because she's gonna
keep bringing it up. We play basketball all the time.
We're always outside, we're playing horse and playing around the world,
and my son loves to bet on the outcomes of
these games. He's pretty good. We go back and forth,
(27:29):
and usually when he's betting, it's for a trip to
Frosty Boy to get some ice cream or for some
sort of treat or Pokemon cards.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Something like that.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
And for me, it's always like either extra chores on
top of what he already has, or sometimes I go
the foot rub route where I make him give either
me or his mom foot massages with our massage gut interesting. Yeah,
so we do it three minutes at a time. When
he loses, and I had won nine minutes of foot
rub time from my son, and he won a couple bads.
(28:00):
And then we are sitting on the couch looking at
a movie Sunday night, Smitty here over the weekend, and
we wanted to watch Twisters. Yeah, so good, right, We're
super excited about it, and we're watching the movie and
I had not seen This is not a spoiler either,
and I'll tell you why in just a moment here.
But as we're watching a Glenn Powell and whoever the
girl is in Twisters, I never remember her name, but
(28:21):
they're forming a bond and they're sitting at the rodeo
and there was just a tornado is seen like three
seconds before this big action scene, lots of tornadoes, and
then there's this slow scene where the two of them
are sitting together at a rodeo and they're just relaxing
and talking and my son goes, I bet you tornado's coming,
(28:42):
and I was like, nah, I don't think so, buddy.
I think this is just.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
A part where they're meeting each other, getting to know
each other, and he goes, I will bet you that
there's a tornado that's about to happen here at the rodeo,
and I was like, the vibe for that's all wrong.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
And they just had a tornado a few seconds ago.
On that it's on the wind picks up. They start
seeing the chart, you know, the wind shines go up. Yeah,
and immediately a tornado starts going. And he looks directly
over at my wife and I and goes, I saw
it in the trailer.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
I was just gonna say, did you not see the
trailer like that going first thing that came out.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
I hadn't seen the trailer in forever, and I did
not remember any part about it. He was so proud
of himself for hustling me out of this season.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Some great a observation skills on your cart there, Dad.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
I mean it wasn't good, I'll be honest, but I
had to be proud of him for taking advantage of
a sucker like myself when he saw an opportunity.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
Well, it is all celebration for our Clerk Cup champions
in Moskegan. What a night last night, the Miskegan Lumberjacks
facing off against the Waterloo Blackhawks in Game five of
the Clark Cup Finals. This was a big one series,
tied two to two heading into the game, with our
Lumberjacks win four to three in overtime. Unbelievable. Jack Christ
(30:04):
actually scored that game winner alongside Lumberjacks head coach Parker Burgess.
Boil boy, was it a night.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
It's just an.
Speaker 5 (30:11):
Awesome feel and I'm so happy for this group of guys.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Y'all.
Speaker 5 (30:14):
We battled all year long and there's no better way
to end at that on top.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Our guys were able to stick with it. It was a
great series.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
All these people, man, it's for them and couldn't be
more happy.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
Yeah, I'm waiting to hear details on some kind of
party because we got to host something. Muskegan's first championship
since two thousand and five when the then Fury went
the United Hockey League.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
I mean, really cool. What a series? Two so overtime
in Game five, It was overtime in Game three and
Game four too, but not.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Enough to hold back our Lumberjacks Clark Cup champs.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Awesome to see. It's finny. This is gonna be awesome
to see because how about seeing NFL players finally in
the Olympics. No, regular football not going to be there,
but you've probably heard flag foot ball will be an
Olympic sport at the Los Angeles Games in twenty twenty eight,
and as of yesterday, NFL owners have unanimously approved permission
(31:10):
for NFL players to participate in flag football. This is
going to be really interesting. There's some rules for it now.
Only one player from any team can actually go and
be a part of this. SHMITTI, who would you want
to see from the Lions? Do you think.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
I'd probably take Dan Campbell. I just want to see
him in a tight out and out there grabbing flat,
not a coach. I want him out there on the grid.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
I I was thinking about Sonic like Jamior Gibbs would
be perfect for this because it is a lot different. Okay,
there's only going to be ten players. It's five on five,
so having you know, some versatility is a premium there
for sure, because you'll not only be on offense, but
sometimes you'll be on defense as well. But yes, we
will see NFL players and there's some who have already
(31:55):
said that they would like to participate. I mean we
heard from Patrick Mahoehames, Tyreek Hill, and Moore saying they
want to represent America at the Olympics. Be pretty sweet
to watch this go down with some of your favorite
players and we'll figure this out as it goes as
they're going to be naming the rosters over the next
year and they'll actually be able to compete against each other.
(32:16):
Feeling good coming at you a couple times today, I
always want to tell you about something interesting going on
on there. We'll do it again for you tomorrow six
forty five and nine twenty here on Star, Mack and
Schmidty in the morning weekday, starting at six am on
Star one oh five point seven
