Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wakem It gets my day going.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It makes me lab of it.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Mac and Schmidty in the morning on Star one of
five point seven. Hey, good morning, Schmitting.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Oh, welcome to Friday.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Thankfully is TGI have to all of us for sure?
Hopefully the week flew buying for you. I normally feel
like the holiday week's coming out of them are really trag.
I felt like this one was a blink, and I
think that's just this time of year.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Okay, attragged for me, So I'll take that one for
both of us. Yes, indeed, I think I have been
working for the last seventy four days.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I apologize for rubbing it in.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Then basically, all right, we're all at that end of
the year. It's wild, especially for us moms. I'm just
trying to keep my head above water.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
I mean, today I am going to volunteer at fourth
grade Fun Day, not to be confused with fourth grade
field Day, which was last week. This week, it's just
a fun day apparently, And I guess my lovely wife
and I are going to be working a water station
that involves buckets, sponges.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
And square morning or afternoon afternoon. Well, you might not
need the buckets and spongers.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
It's true.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
There's a possible pop upshower, which, if you ask any kid,
is the coolest thing ever to have happen at school
when you're outside movies, music, and all the gossip in
one place.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Well, this will be very interesting. FBI Deputy Director Dan
Bongino is insisting trying to squash those conspiracy theories that
convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was not killed in jail,
and he says there is video to prove it that
will be publicly released. Yesterday, Bungino was on Fox and

(01:44):
Friends disclosing the existence of video for Metropolitan Correctional Center
in Manhattan, and he claims the footage shows no one
else was involved in Epstein's death other than Epstein.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
There's video that when you look at the video, and
we will release That's what it's taken a while on this.
We are working on cleaning it up to make sure
you have an enhanced and we're going to give the
originals so you don't think there were any shenanigans. You're
going to see there's no one there but him. So
I say to people will tell if you have a tip,
let us know. But there's no DNA, there's no audio,
there's no fingerprints, there's no suspects, there's no accomplices, there's

(02:18):
no tips, there is nothing.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I do think it's interesting though, that he still says,
if you have a tip, let us know.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
That's because Dan bin I can't even say his last name, Banngino. Yes,
literally had spouted for years that Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself,
and then when he was in a role where he
could look at evidence, he's like, well, actually, guys, I'm
really sorry, but yeah, he guilds out.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
And apparently we will be seeing that evidence very very soon.
The investigation is officially completed in that awful, awful golf
cart accident where John Elway lost his agent and best friend,
Jeff Sperbeck, and cops are saying there is still no
evidence to suggest a crime occurred. Riverside County Sheriff's Office
said please. Officers have now spoken to all parties who

(03:02):
were in the area near where Sperbeck fell off of
that Lway driven golf cart back in April and said
there's no evidence or statement to indicate this is nothing
more than a tragic accident. So I guess good news
in one way, you know, maybe collnet guilt. But in
the other way, just to hear it out loud, just
a tragic, awful way to lose a best friend, he

(03:25):
was a husband, he was a dad. Just really sad stuff.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Yeah, life is fragile, going from golfing to that unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
And finally, my Bravo fans will love this. The Housewives
are hop in the pond? Are you ready for this?

Speaker 5 (03:37):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
You is actually the NBC universal streaming service that hosts
Bravo over in the UK, and has announced the Real
Housewives of London. Six England based stars include Ladies of
London alum Juliette Angus, a former model named Amanda Cronin,
Real Housewives of Jersey alum and Laundry Peace, former actress

(04:02):
Juliette Mayhew, socialite Panther Parker and businesswoman NeSSI Welschinger. I
kind of love what they're saying about this series. Whether
they're hosting lavish dinners, escaping to a Scottish castle, or
rebuilding bonds over bottles of champagne, they're all navigating life,
legacy and loyalty with big personalities, deep histories, and no

(04:23):
shortage of designer drama. The series will premiere on that
streamer later this year. I'm not really sure how that
works over here if we'll get it like the next
day on our version of Peacock, but it's supposed to
be really, really good.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Did you say that there is a former Jersey housewife
that is going to be over there with.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
All these lets not New Jersey, Jersey, Okay, not New Jersey,
different spot. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all if you were scoop
it West Michigan Star.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Dot Com stelling on fine point seven, it's Mac and Schmidti.
Let's send you into this day feeling good right now
and this is just cool. Last week, bride and groom
to be Kirks and Sam were on their way to
their wedding in Phoenix and they got a surprise as
they were flying with Alaskan Airlines that has gone viral.
During the flight This is cool. Airline staff actually invited

(05:11):
all the other passengers on the plane to write down
their best marriage advice on the airplane napkins and share
that with the couple, and they wound up having some
pretty amazing people on their flight. The notes included messages
from couple who had a variety of experiences, one couple
married more than forty years, whose advice to the newly

(05:33):
mens was to be communicating, always, never go to bed angry,
cherish those little things. Another note encouraging the couples to
always acknowledge the small gestures and maintain that intimacy like
you're dating still it, admire sun sets together and giving
genuine compliments that it's about those small things. Kirsten said

(05:53):
when she got the notes, she sobbed profusely on the airplane.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
We did this on a flight to California. Yeah, we
had a couple on the way to their honeymoon, and
the flight attendants came around with cocktail mappings.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Were you already married? I know, I was just curious.
If I was curious, napkins. After she's done that there
would be like divorce people on the flights that would
be like, don't do it, or sign a prenup, Like
it's funny that they get those, but instead, uh, they
got nothing but notes that she called so special. They're
actually going to turn it into an art project, display

(06:25):
it at their wedding as well as at their home
as the new couple starts their lives.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
So Indy car driver Connor Daily was in Nova yesterday
ahead of the big Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix this weekend,
and it wasn't just for practice. He was actually speaking
to kids with type one diabetes. See Daily is the
only known US professional race driver with type one diabetes.
He's going to race on Sunday, and he thought it'd

(06:51):
be the perfect opportunity to talk to kids about how
your health is important, but it also shouldn't ruin your dreams.
While meeting some pretty week kids as part of his
new friend network.

Speaker 6 (07:02):
Diabetes has never actually stopped me from doing anything. I've
gone sky downing, race dirt bikes, done all kinds of
dumb stuff that's really fun. But it's just been something
that you know, I've used my family, I've used my friends.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
My friends know about it. They support me.

Speaker 6 (07:18):
You know, there's a lot of there's a good support
system around that's been really helpful. It's it's great to
meet you all because I actually still you know, I
don't have a ton of Type one diabetics.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
In my network.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Yeah, Daily telling the kids it's been an interesting ride
throughout my career, but honestly, it makes us all stronger.
And I just thought that was really cool.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah, definitely. I mean and to be a kid to
see somebody who's zooming around at two hundred plus miles
an hours get what you've got, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 7 (07:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
It helps a lot.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Oh, the Swifties are swiftying yet again, hoping that rumors
that have been circulating for quite a while may finally
come true in some way. Taylor Swift on Dancing with
the Stars. Nope, so it's gotten to be at fever
pitch levels because if you watched the show last year,
they did an entire night dedicated to a celebration of

(08:13):
Taylor Swift, where contestants performed dances to all of her
hit songs.

Speaker 7 (08:17):
Well.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Now, Dancing with the Stars pro Jenna Johnson has revealed
a way that Swift could be involved in the upcoming season.
She appeared on the Call It what It Is podcast
this week, joining the co stars and saying there's somebody
that she would personally love to see join as a contestant. God,
I hope it's Jason Kelcey. And when she said that name,

(08:39):
I was like, oh, she's a football star. Well, she's
a football star, but it could have been anyone. But
when she said Jason Kelcey, I was like, beyond. So
that's it, right, If Jason Kelcey did it, they think
that Taylor would obviously be in the audience with Travis
to Cheerman, and that's as close as swifties think that
we could kiss.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Okay, that's I'm so glad that that's where it wound
up going because the reason I said nope right there
as I was like Taylor Swift, I'm sorry, he's too
big for Dancy with the Stars. Like she might not
say that. I'm not saying that's how she maybe, but
her publicist does.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Jason Kelsey would be phenomenal. Plus he is already doing
so much with ESPN, which, oh my goodness, happens to
be ABC Disney owned, so weird. Finally, next, Shakira fans
who were really excited about her huge show in Boston
last night were left pretty upset after the entire show
had to be canceled last minute. Plus shows for tonight,

(09:31):
Anne Brookston Dunn along with Jason Aldan that won't be performing,
So this is kind of scary. During a routine pre
show check at Fenway Park, structural elements were identified as
not being to standard. That's a really dangerous thing. Shows
were canceled by Boston Inspectional Services. All team members are saved, thankfully,

(09:51):
but unfortunately this is one of those things. It came
down like almost right before showtime. They said, due to
unforeseen circumstances, Shakira, who was supposed to kick off their
summer concert series last night and performed tonight with Jason
el Dian and Brookstunn, also with performances this weekend, would
not be happening. There's no word on whether these will
even be rescheduled. And of course you get the fans

(10:11):
that are like, I flew for this, or I had
paid for a hotel downtown, non refundable kind of thing,
but probably safer to be like, hey, this thing could collapse.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
What about the Is there anything about the Boston Red Sox?
Will they be able to continue to play and use
the stadium?

Speaker 2 (10:26):
I would assume, so I think this would be staging,
just contared stuff. Wouldn't be like a part of a
baseball game, Okay, it's official. Martin Lawrence's daughter just said
I do to Eddie Murphy's son, giving us the ultimate
Hollywood in laws. In fact, it was Eddie himself that
spilled the tea. His son Eric Murphy, and Martin's daughter

(10:49):
Jasmine Lawrence secretly tied the knot almost two weeks ago.
He was on the Jennifer Hudson Show.

Speaker 9 (10:56):
Actually they got married like two weeks ago. They went
off was making the big wedding plans, and then they
decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the
two of them, and then they got married.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
And now Martin in laws.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Now you and Martina in laws.

Speaker 9 (11:10):
Yeah, we're in lawss. So he don't have to pay
for the big wedding.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Now, oh oh, it's really good. He said. Most likely
they'll just plan a huge party. But I guess the
couple got just too tired of planning and said, let's
a lope and do this thing.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
I mean, both of those guys have one volume and
it's shouting, so I'm sure it was a very loud
one there.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
What volume is fun?

Speaker 3 (11:28):
But I was going to say, how great are the
speeches going to be at that? We're a day at
that wedding, I mean Martin and Eddie Murphy giving the
speech at your wedding.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
All right, all of your celeb Scoop at West Michigan
start off on.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
It's mack In Schmitty and you're talking about those sweet
traditions for the end of the school year.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Schmitty And these might be some of the sweeter ones,
because you're talking about our graduating seniors. And I came
across this video yesterday that I thought was just so wonderful.
It's called a Grab Lunch and it actually the seniors
back to their elementary school where they do a day

(12:06):
of hanging out like they did as they were kids.
So this has been a huge success for this school district.
This mom shared the idea that's been going on for
ten years. They start with the PTA providing lunch with
classmates and their former teachers. They then have a Q
and A with all the current fifth graders where they
talk about everything from what to expect in the future,
to mental health to things that you're scared about as

(12:27):
you're entering into a new school. They do a final
recite of the school pledge, and then they all go
out to recess together.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
That's where it's at to me.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
You hear click, I see this video. I see this
video and like, you've got high school seniors and fifth
graders playing with the giant parachute in the gym, kickball,
they've got the volleyball going the toorally slides on the playground.
And so I was looking through these comments and there
are so many schools that do this, and they're like,
it's just it's a sweet send off to our seniors

(12:57):
because they get to be kids one last time. And
it really gives our fifth graders confidence that we can't
necessarily as teachers and parents give them for this next
big step into junior high. Right, And I'm just sitting
over here in my fields, like, what an amazing idea.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
I love it too, because also even if you think
about the teachers with it, getting to see each other
with their former students and having those full circle moments
for they're back in their fifth grade classroom again, that's
got to be such a trippy thing for those teachers too.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
I'm curious, like what school districts do in West Michigan.
I don't have kids old enough to have reached this point,
yet I know a lot of people do kindergarten graduation.
I think that's so cute. But I know when I
when I was in high school, we went back to
our elementaries, and I went to a Catholic school, so
we were all kind of feeder schools, and we would
go in our cap and gown for a bacclaureate mass

(13:48):
at church, and then we would go and sit all
together like we did in eighth grade, and then all
of the kindergarteners would join us.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
That's awesome, that's really sweet, really sweet. I don't member.
I don't recall any specific senior traditions that I have,
but I do have one for graduating fourth graders. For
my son and daughter's elementary school. On the last day
of school, they do like a like a fourth grade
walk through the halls where all the younger kids get
to see them and clap and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
So does your school end at fourth grade?

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Then, so they ended fourth grade, and then fifth and
sixth grade are their own schools. Seventh and eighth grade
of their own schools. It's a little different, but as
fourth grade they leave this elementary school, as they do
the march through the hallways at the end of it,
is all of the parents of the fourth graders making
a fun noodle tunnel.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Yeah, our fifth grade does that.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Our fifth grade does that. Yeah, so they go to
junior high exactly. Yeah, so I thought that was a
cute thing to do, for sure.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
I just I don't know. Let's talk about you guys,
let's cry together, because I'm already I'm already in my
fields today because my daughter is she is done with
preschool today, and then we are actually done with this school. Wow,
We've been there for five years. So I'm having a
really tough time with that, very very in my feels
on it. Six one six fourth one oh five seven.

(15:01):
Do you does your family or your school have a
really cute end of school year tradition? Shout it out,
give us the school and what they do, and if
someone does this grad lunch. I think that should be everywhere.
I love it. Six one six, four five eight one
oh five seven.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Uh smy. I wonder if there's more tears coming from
kids at the end of the school year or moms
like yourself. I really wonder whether they'll a it's just a.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Stone cold woman. I will be the only one with
the emotion at that picnic. Today, I assure you.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
Take me to Starbucks for a kid pop and let's
get through some of Amack and Schmitty in the morning
on Star one oh five point seven. Time spill into
take time.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Spill the too, sweetheart.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
That's right, it is time for you to spill it.
Your chance to share the drama going on in your life.
We keep you anonymous, so just hit us up and
send those messages. In messages in at West Michigan Star Smenny,
we got this message, and I'm actually I really want
the female perspective on this because in my head it
just kind of I think it went over my head.
All right, So hey Mack and Schmidti, this is a

(16:10):
hairy or hairless situation. They appreciate a good bun all.
My sister twenty four and I twenty two, are really close.
She's been dating Josh for about three months, and at
first I really liked him. He seemed nice, has a
good job, pays for everything when they go out, and
I was really happy she was dating someone. About a
month after she started dating him, she suddenly dyed her

(16:30):
hair brown or dyed her brown hair bright blonde and
casually told me, Josh thought i'd look better as a blonde.
I did. It did look good, but I thought that
it was a little weird since I've never heard her
mention the idea of going blonde before. I didn't really
think more about it until a few weeks ago when
she told me she was getting laser hair removal because

(16:50):
quote Josh likes it and he was going to pay
for it too. To me, that's kind of creepy. I
can't help feeling like this guy thinks he can change
my sister to fit his physical preferences. Is that a
red flag or quote unquote totally normal? Like she keeps
telling me so.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Literally, everyone on Facebook has said red flag.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Literally that literally every surprised me because I guess in
my head, I was just thinking maybe the guy just
likes to throw his cash around a little bit and
thinks that this is like a cool way to impress
his new girl.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
H No, it's definitely a red flag. I will say
this though, if it's something your sister actually enjoys and
he is going to continue to pay for it, because
here's the female for that one and done, Honey, if
you've got if you are a brunette and you're as
a blonde, you're going to that salon like every three
to four weeks, babe. So if he's going to keep

(17:40):
that up and you like it, and he's going to
pay for all of the laser hair removal services, I
feel like that's okay that as long as you are
good with it. It does strike me as kind of
a oh my eye twitches a little bit at it.
But if you like it and it's coming out of
his pocket, you do you girl?

Speaker 3 (17:58):
So as long as no one's forcing laser beams on
y SCHMITTI you're cool.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
We want to get smooth on someone else's dime.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
I'm down six one, six five seven. Monica from Holland.
What do you think, Monica?

Speaker 10 (18:09):
I think she's a little bit overthinking that. I mean,
just because the guy wants to do something nice, that
girl take it.

Speaker 7 (18:17):
I mean, you know.

Speaker 10 (18:19):
This for your laser Hambert Moval's not like he's marrying
you was behind his If he was one to control her,
you would think of something more than I mean, come
on now, like I'm gonna pay for your laser surgeries
now I'm going to control No, he would think of
something more insidious than that. Nah, girls take it, have fun.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
See you know, like, if it's not that big of
a deal, I'm actually interested to hear the guy's perspective
on this. Schmitt Steve from g R on the line,
what do you think, Steve?

Speaker 7 (18:44):
I think it must there's other sign showing that this
is a guy that needs to take control and like egotistical,
narcissistic vibe, then maybe it's something to look out for.
But just me hearing that he wants to pay for that,
that seems like a nice gesture to me. If it's
something that she wanted to get, I mean, I think
that they should discuss it. But unless there's other things,

(19:05):
you know, that are pointing to him being egotistical or
like a maniac trying to be in control, I think
she should chill out on that.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Just let him do it, all right. That's two in
a row, Schmitdi the think it's not that big of
a deal. But like you said, every single person on
Facebook said this is a major red flag. Where's the disconnecttion?

Speaker 2 (19:20):
I just like the guy out there, that's like, as
long as he's not a maniac. Bro, have you watched
a crime doc. It's not like they walk around.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
With a sign laying on this one. We got enough
for you right now on Facebook at twest Michigan start.
Of course, always send us that latest drama going on
in your life. We'll keep you anonymous each and every
week with tea time here on stuff.

Speaker 8 (19:40):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
It's the celebrities scoop on Star one oh five point
seven plus.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
The trial against Diddy continues. You just never know what
names are going to come up. And yesterday the legendary
Prince was brought into it or his security team. So
this is one of Ditty's former personal assistants that testified
yesterday and said Prince's security team actually had to intervene

(20:09):
when Ditty was starting his attack on Cassie Ventura outside
a party hosted by the Purple Rain singer. The female
assistant only going by a pseudonym Mia, So she worked
for Ditty as his personal assistant and later as director
of development and acquisition for a Revolt Films, the media
company that Diddy founded. She said she witnessed did he

(20:29):
get physically violent with Cassie on multiple occasions, including as
far back as twenty ten when they were all at
a party hosted by Prince. She said the night before
the party did. He told her to stay with Cassie
and that he was going to be at his house
with his kids. She says she heard about Prince's party
and she and Cassie debated if they could maybe sneak
out and go to the bash. The issue what Mia

(20:51):
told the jury Cassie was never allowed to go anywhere
they wanted together and never without Ditty's permission, or she
would be punished in bad, scary, terrifying ways. Mia says
her and Cassie ended up going to Prince's place, They
had an amazing time, and then Ditty showed up. They
locked eyes, Diddy pulled Cassie out of the party, started

(21:13):
beating on her, and that is when Prince's security team
intervened to get them apart. She says this was just
one instance of how insane and abusive that relationship was.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
I mean, it's wild to think of how long all
this stuff was going on and yet we're in we're
in trial about it now, Like.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
How how long has Prince been not with us?

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Said? Twenty sixteen coming up.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
It's like this is absolutely insane. Moving on to a
really cool moment. Yesterday, we have officially our scripts National
Spelling Bee champ and it was kind of a shocking
moment because for a while we weren't sure if you
was even gonna last through the round. Fazonzucky got a
pretty impressive word.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
E C L A I R C I S S
E M E and T a physical that is correct.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
So here how excited he was getting when he realized it.
I can't say the words. I think it's a French word.
I think it's a clon. I'm gonna say, but the
thirteen year old from Alan, Texas is obviously much better
than me one more with the French. Think it clears small.
I took Spanish, y'all. Uh. That is a very big

(22:35):
deal because he actually lost in a lightning round tiebreaker
last year, so this is kind of, you know, a
comeback story. Finally, it's very Gwyneth Paltrow vibes, isn't it.
Actress Sidney Sweeney is selling her bathwater in a soap
far what Yeah. The Euphorius star has teamed up with
a company called Doctor Squatch Soap for the bathwater Bliss

(22:58):
Bar Complaine, with a certificate confirming it is made from
the very water that Sydney has bathed in, as well
as some outdoorsy notes in an odd to her Pacific
Northwest roots. It's a very limited edition, you guys. Only
five thousand bars were made and you can pick them
up right now online.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
I honestly think like this is people who buy another
person's bathwater are the most disgusted. Like, I just don't
understand you look at this differently.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
I'm jealous because I'm linkedang it, Why didn't I think
of that? Like, whatever, get your flowers, girl, if you
are paying your rent any way, possible bathwater and soap
to me is kind of like the most PG thing
you could do.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
What are you going to do with this certificate? Are
you going to display that super weird person?

Speaker 2 (23:43):
All right? All of your scoop At West Michigan Star dot.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Com, it's time on a fine points seven. It's Mack
and Schmiddy Battle of This section is looking to get
you over to our Frederick Mountner Gardens for their summer
concert shows, which, by the way, kick off tonight sold
down show with the Head and the Heart there. But
it's next week that we're getting.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Into oh Man, shock a cup on a Wednesday night.
You've got today's number one answer with Battle of the Sexes,
and we've got your tickets ready to go. One hundred
men surveyed, Name something living in your house you may
never see?

Speaker 3 (24:12):
Oh, parents, but teenagers will say them, then we'll tell
you I.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Immediately mice, spiders?

Speaker 3 (24:18):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (24:18):
This terrifying fact that, like, you're never more than ten
inches away from a spider.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
I was just trying to do that to my daughter
the other day because she was saying how much she
hates them, and she's like, no, that's not sure. Go
to the internet. Body, it's one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Full six one six four five eight, one oh five
seven caller seven, give us that number one answer. One
hundred men surveyed Name something living in your house you
may never see, and you're going to see Shaka Khan
at the Myergardens next week on Starck.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
Good Morning, star Chris and Brody. All right, gentlemen, let's
see if we can get this for you. One hundred
women were asked to name something that might live in
your house but you might never see it. What do
you think The top answer is there, guys, well, a mouse. Yeah,
you know, if you you don't see the mouse, you
might hear it. Screening across a little bit. That's a

(25:08):
terrible sound. But mouse is the number three most common answer.
I'm sorry, guys, thank you, Hi star. Who's this Michelle?
I just heard from broody And when a hundred guys
were asked to name something that excuse me, one hundred
women were asked to name something that might live in
your house but you may never see. He said a mouse,
and that was the number three most common answer, but

(25:29):
not the top one. What do you think it is?
I think a ghost? Ooh, a ghosts yes, you're not
gonna see Casper probably, but ghost is not on the list.
I like what you're thinking though. That was a good guest, Michelle,
Thank you so much. Bye, Hi Star, who's this? You said? Gabe? Keith?
All right? Keith, all right? One hundred women were asked

(25:51):
to name something that might live in your house but
you might never see, and so far I heard a ghost,
which yeah, you're not going to see if they're in
your house, and also a mouse, which was the number
three most common answer, but neither were the top answers.
So what do you think it is? Keith?

Speaker 5 (26:06):
I believe it, I wrote, you believe it's a roach
as somebody who when I moved out to Las Vegas
lived in multiple roach infested apartment buildings.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
I can guarantee that you don't see them until three
o'clock in the morning, and then you flip on the
light and all of them scurry out of that kitchen.
Grossest thing ever. Roaches is the top answer where to go? Yeah,
you're gonna go see Shaka Khan next week. Thank you,
You are so welcome. Keith. Yes, it was cockroaches, termites, mice, ants,

(26:41):
and spiders rounding out those top answers. Good thing, good
thing you went with your gut, Sarah. Keith, we are
gonna send you to Shaka Khan next week, and if
you would like to be there too, we've got another
chance for you to win those Frederick Meyer Garden summer
concert shows if you want tickets West Michigan Star Doc

(27:02):
Smack and Schmitty. And forget feeling good, you're feeling great.
And teachers are also doing backflips as we get ready
to end the school year for basically, if you're not
ending this week, you're ending next.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Week pretty much half and half.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
And I then we get into summer vacation, which you
know tailor's old as time. Every kid is jacked about.
But it is not the same as it was when
we were kids, right, It is not even close. And
so this is my last year, Schmitty of not having
a teenager in my home. This is my last year
of not having a teenager. For the next several years,
there will be at least one team in my house.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
That makes her chest tighten.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
It really does. And I know that kind of controlling
their time a little bit when they're on summer vacation.
As they get older, it will be harder. They'll have jobs,
they'll have more friends, they'll have things that are going
on in their lives. They'll have probably gadgets, they'll have phones.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
When they're more into their tam even if they're at home,
they're not going to want to hang out with you.
They're not.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
Yeah, And so I feed my wife and I were
talking about how this is kind of one of our
life summers where we've got two kids, just kids who
are out there who want to have fun. So we
are we're doing some tablet stuff where we're just not
allowing screens in our house basically before five pm, all
summer long. And because the idea is that we just
want them out living life like we did during summer

(28:18):
vacations as kids. So I wanted to know what you
would consider doing for your kids for an old school summer,
because right off the bat mine starts with a very
simple baseline. You are on your bike all the time.
You are going to do stuff on that bike. You're
going to your friend's house. You're going across the subdivision
down the road to hang by the river on the

(28:40):
little beach there with your friends. You are going to
be out of this house and having adventures all summer long, independently.
Because I think that that's so important.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
It's crazy, because I feel like we live in this
gym because that is the life my kids lead. Yeah,
somebody will come over at like an as school is done,
our doorbell rings, Hey cam. Also if you come out
and play, Yeah, guys, just you know the rules, like
you got to be home in the street lights turn on, yeah,
and they are on their bike. We'll gets on his
bike and goes to like six or seven different friends' houses.

(29:12):
I saw them building a fort in our woods the
other day. That's a great Like this seems to be
such a rarity, But I'm looking home like they are
growing up actually exactly the same way I did in
neighborhood life.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
That's interesting because we have kids in our neighborhood, but
they're within you know, you have to go, like to
the street next door to us, or go several houses.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Yeah, I know this is all, but I'm also surrounded
by parents that also, like, none of the kids have phones.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
It's okay.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
I'm surrounded by parents that are like, we aren't doing
it yet.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
With my daughter being twelve, almost most of her friends have,
we are we are not. We are like holding on
for our life because we know that that is going
to be such a suck of her emotional, of her energy,
of her time, all of those things, so we don't
want to do it. Instead, I looked at this list
of old school stummer stuff. Chasing down an ice cream truck.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Yeah, we did that last summer.

Speaker 11 (30:04):
You know.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Now you're just making me feel bad because.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
I said, I think you guys should all move to
my neighborhood and we can hang out.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
What would you do to give your kids an old
school summer? Whatever are they drinking from the hose?

Speaker 7 (30:15):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Our hosewater's delicious?

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Well, there you go. At least they're getting that experience
going into the weekend feeling good. I'm starting a fine points.
H haven't getting you there? What's going on? Minute?

Speaker 7 (30:25):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Last night was incredible. It was one of the first
times I've really been able to experience a wish being
granted by Make a Wish Michigan. So a big shout
out to so many people involved in this. Chef Jenna
actually hosted us at her gorgeous restaurant Amore, and we
got to meet Chef Caleb. So let me give you
some background on Caleb. Caleb loves to cook and he

(30:50):
has always always wanted to experience a Michelin Star restaurant,
and in fact, his parents had scheduled a trip the
senior year of high school very recently to head Toshicago
and actually check out that Michelin Star restaurant. But if
you've ever listened to Radiothon, you hear stories like this.
He was feeling a little ill, have a little pain,
so mom and dad took him to the pediatric er

(31:12):
and Caleb was diagnosed with stage four leukemia. He was
fifty days in the hospital, some days required more than
twenty hours of chemotherapy. He was thinking about starting college
and instead was completely sidelined by this.

Speaker 7 (31:29):
Well.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
We got to meet Caleb last night, the twelve thousand
and five hundredth wish granted in Michigan. Caleb will be
headed to California to check out the French Laundry, one
of the most exquisite world renowned restaurants out there. The
executive chef will be making a personal meal for Caleb

(31:51):
and his family. Caleb will be invited back to the
kitchen not only in California, but they just happened to
have a very cool connection to their French Laundry in
New York City, where he'll get to meet the staff there.
He said it for seven days to California, a San
Francisco tasting tour. It is absolutely incredible and everything was
a surprise. He got a personalized chef coat. Last night.

(32:15):
He got his very own line of designer knives. He
is being sent with top of the line swag. This
was his dad talking about how amazing granting a wish
can be to these critically ill kids.

Speaker 12 (32:27):
It's a symbol of hope and a reminder that even
after the toughest battles, there's still beauty and wandering to
be found and through the storm we gained such a
deep appreciation for the.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Blessing of community. It was in those.

Speaker 12 (32:40):
Small things from family, friends, neighbors, caring strangers, amazing nurses
treat dodgors and make a wish.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
I think my favorite part was at the end. He
was just so stunned by everything. They were like, did
you want to say anything, no pressure, and he said,
I don't have much to say except this really feels
like the birthday I missed out on when I was
in treatment. Oh man, Oh, it's incredible. I've got a
bunch of pictures and videos up that I'll share at
West Michigan Star. And I just want to say, hashtag
Caleb Strong.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
That's really cool. Yeah, I love that. Chef Jenna has
got to be involved in Then all you guys over
there last night too, so cool, all right, Schwinnie. This
is just an incredible case of the Internet doing its
thing right. Just hours after graduating from Mills Creek High
School down in Georgia last week, an eighteen year old
Mikail Baker he had to go to work. He had
a rush to his job at Burger King after he

(33:33):
had walked across the stage received his diploma, and he
was actually still wearing his cap and gown when he
arrived at work, and then a customer, Maria Mendoza, spotted
him in the kitchen working with a couple of his
sashes and metals still on from some of his academic
achievements while he was in school, and she was just
sort of taken aback by his humility and his work ethics.

(33:55):
So she took a video of it, and it blew up.
It went viral. So then she decided to launch crowdfund
to support his college plans, and that blew up too,
raising over twenty thousand dollars in just a matter of
a couple of days with more than a thousand donors,
and Mendoza got to return to that burger king a
few days later and the two actually got to meet

(34:16):
in person.

Speaker 8 (34:16):
And next night, I'm like, you know what, I'm gonna
post it on TikTok without even thinking about it, put
my phone next to the nightstand, I went to sleep,
and when I woke up, it was like blown blown away.
And so my daughter Jasmine was like, Mom, you should
do a GoFundMe.

Speaker 11 (34:31):
I feel happy, like I just want to say thank
you to my parents and all the people that see
the dot in me and they believed in me, and
that really donated all the money to me, honestly.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
Yeah, and donate all that money to be honestly because Schmidty,
as of this morning, that GoFundMe is now over eighty
three thousand dollars for this kid's college dreams. He's planning
on enrolling in a technical college to study mechanical trade.
Now instead of taking a gap year while he was
saving money, he can now get to college just like

(35:02):
he wanted to do. Pretty incredible, feeling good. Always here
to show you something awesome going on out there. We'll
do it again for you next week. Every weekday six
forty five and nine twenty here on Star Mack and
Schmidty in the morning weekday starting at six am on
Star one oh five point seven
