Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning. Thank you for listening to Community Access. My
guest this morning is Sloan Williams. She plays Violet in
nine to five at the Little Theater of Manchester. Good morning,
good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I'm so happy to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
The show takes place April eleventh through the twenty seventh,
and it's based on the nineteen eighty comedy classic. Tell
me what's so great about this performance?

Speaker 2 (00:24):
So I went and saw the movie as a kid
in the movie theater originally, so for me just being
able to it was one of my favorite movies. So
being able to play the Lily Tomlin role in nine
to five is so wonderful because there's so many silly

(00:44):
antics between the women. There's humor, there's a little bit
of romance. You know, there are some tricks. As far
as things that are going to happen on stage, I
don't want to give too much away, but I think
just the fact that it's so upbeat and funny, and
you know, people are gonna laugh. There's a lot of dancing,

(01:06):
a lot of singing. It's a great show.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
And what do you hope people take away with them
when the show is over.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I think just the fact that you know, there's still
some discrepancy in the workplace between men and women. It's
gotten a lot better, and I think, you know, what
these women teach us in this show is that you know,
things can always get better, things can always look up.

(01:37):
You have to have a good attitude, you have to
make a choice every day to be positive, and if
something isn't going your way, it's okay to change it
and change it for the better. And I think that's
a really good message. You know, when when people are
feeling down, it's easy to want to maybe give up
and to just look on the bright side. And and

(02:00):
you know, these women have a relationship together and they
rely on each other and at the end, you know
they're rewarded for their hard work.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
What is your favorite part of the show.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
There are a lot of favorite parts of the show.
I think there's a part where we have to take
over the office because our boss has treated us unfairly,
and the three of us come together and I don't
want to give too much away, but if you you know,
it's a little bit different in the show, but we

(02:33):
kind of end up kidnapping mister Hart and putting him
in the trunk of a car, and I think you know,
that is quite funny and hilarious and I think people
will really enjoy that.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
I think so too. I'm speaking with Sloan Williams. She
plays Violet in nine to five at the Little Theater
of Manchester. It's from April eleventh through the twenty seventh.

you so much for being here, Sloan.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
