Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is between two shows podcast on iHeartRadio. Hey what's up.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm Dave and I'm Ja and it's philled And today
we're going to talk about our buddy filled little Pumpkin
Chronicles and we need more detailed.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
My little pumpkin chronicles.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
And how long have you done these pumpkin chronicles?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Nine years? This is the ninth season, the ninth He's
called them seasons, seasons and episodes.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
So what you do every October? You eat or drink
or or do something, consume the work, give something.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Pumpkin, pumpkin or pumpkin spice related, yes, every single day,
every single day, and then you rate it for I
will rate it. I give it a pumpkin meter.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
You do have a punkin meter.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
I didn't know about the pumpkin meter.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
So let's talk about the pumpkin meter. What you got here?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
So the pumpkin meter is the scale of one to five,
one being the absolute worst with basically no pumpkin flavor,
no taste, what's whoever? And five being it just blows
your mind and just punches you right in the mouth
with pumpkin stuff. Okay, okay, So like the past couple
of days, I have just hit the one on the
pumpkin meter, because these these places that I have trusted

(01:15):
with my pumpkin, you know, since I guess, have failed
me with the with the flavor. So there has not
been and the biggest failure of them all has been
the Eminem's. Okay, I thought also that was my most
recent the Eminem's pumpkin pie. No, no taste at all.
It's just like a regular regular okay.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
And that was dropped off by our co our former
co worker, Kim york Blade.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Yes, so she was very sweet for her to drop
them off. So you're saying that they sucked because because
she gave them to you.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
No, no, no, no, Kim, Kim is Kim is guilt free here.
This is she has nothing to do with this. This
was packaged by the Mars company. She did not make them,
that's correct, but she gave them, and she gave me
some other it's like pumpkin marshmallow something. I'll try that
later this month.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
But yeah, she's not at fault. It's the Mars company.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
But she found them for you.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Yeah, it was okay.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
So you're saying they basically taste like regular Eminem not.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
The peanut kind just the regular chocolate. They're just bigger.
They have the fall I guess color scheme.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah, but it doesn't matter. Doesn't like pumpkin, doesn't what's
the point?

Speaker 1 (02:21):
I grab it. I'm like, I'm excited about this. Yesterday morning,
I grab a handful. I'm like, here we go, crumbling
in and I'm chewing. I'm trying to taste. I'm like, well, okay,
maybe it's early in the morning. Let me try something out,
let me do it again. And I did nothing. So
I took him to uh, our coworker, Carla, because she
likes pumpkin stuff too. I said, can you taste any
pumpkin in this? And she said, no, I can't.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
Okay, yeah, no, I was.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
I was actually concerned that my pumpkin palate was just
diminishing of overuse.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Your pumpkin palate.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Okay, well, let's see.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
You've also tried some pumpkin Danish, some pumpkin bagels, You've
tried pumpkin spice donuts, and now the one thing that
you brought in for us to try that was absolutely
blew our minds. Was the better than sex pumpkin cake
or better than.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Baby?

Speaker 4 (03:13):
So?

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (03:13):
So better than pumpkin cake which your wife made.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Is that correct? Absolutely? Okay? Five? Five on the pumpkin meter. Actually,
I hate to tell you this, buddy.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
You put four on the.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
It was a four on the pumpkin meter. I don't
I don't understand why that wasn't a five. I said
it was five, but she said, no, I don't think
it's a five. It's more of a four because I
can't taste as much pumpkin. So I'm okay, Well, to
honor her wishes, I put it down to four. Around here.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Listen, you baked this delicious thing for me, and I'm
gonna talk craft right now. Okay, now, no, listen, that
thing was amazing.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
That was absolutely tib.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I took some home for Heath. The two pieces that
I took home. He ate it all and he absolutely
loved it. He said that was incredible. He goes, you
need to get that recipe.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I hope I can make this.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
I'm going to ask you to have you I haven't.
I've seen a few of your posts. I haven't seen
them all. Have you tried the pumpkin spice hot chocolate
that you brought.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I have not. I'm saving that for this weekend. Okay,
So when I get up in the morning and just
you know, I'm just sitting there in the recline or whatever,
I got to have some hot chocolate. It's pumpkin spice
hot chocolate.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
Let me give you my quick little review because I
tried it this morning. Okay, first of all, I used
our cake cup machine. This yere at the station. Jin
said that was not recommended.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
You don't know and what and where the water came from.
It's been there, listen.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
So I put it in the machine and as it's brewing,
I'm not thrilled with the smell. Okay, I was like,
oh boy, I'm a little nervous. And then once it's done,
I look at it and smell again, and yeah, I'm
not I'm kind of concerned. Actually, take a little it.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
It was really good, really Okay.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
The brown water didn't affect that.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Okay, the pumpkin spice hot chocolate. Listen, I'm a fan.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
You think that's a wind.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
What would you give it on the pumpkin meter the.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
Pumpkin meter, hmm, Okay, I'm not going four and I'm
not going three.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I'm going three and a half on the pumpkins.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
But if you can't do that, you don't have a
half a don't have a half a pun.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
You've got to do solid day, you know, hit it.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Or miss it.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Go okay, Still a three is three?

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Give it three solid?

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I'd say two and lower, yeah, you know, away from that,
but three, I'd try it.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, I wouldn't.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
You know, I'm not going to drink this every day?

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Sure, sure, but if you want to bring another one in,
he'll do it another.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yay.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
So you already have several other items lined up to try.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Oh absolutely, Like today, I've brought in the pumpkin spice
rolls from Little Debbie. That is, after back to back failures,
these can't miss. Okay, so this is a whole This
is a five star. I've still got to try try.
I've had it last year, the pumpkin spice cake from
the Shakery and Ironton they have the pumpkin pies back
at McDonald's. The pumpkin pie blizzard at Dairy Queen. We

(06:14):
haven't had that. I've got another pun. I've got to
make my pumpkin bread. I've got pumpkin pie. So I've
got I've got a stretch of days that I think
we're going to recover from these two bad back to
back days.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
I'll tell you what, buddy. So you know, during this
month of pumpkining, calories don't really matter. Okay, got it.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Just last Friday before a football game, I had one
of the kids from the team. His mom came up
to me and asked, me, you know I've read your
pumpkin chronicles. Do you get on the scale at the
beginning of the month and then at the end of
the month. And no, no, I don't you know. No,
I don't. I don't.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
That's terrible. No, you're doing this for funsies. You're doing
it so people know what's good and bad. You're doing
it because you know it's a good public.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Service, if you ask me, paying awareness to the pumpkin.
Pumpkin spice. But did you know, if you saw my post,
there is actually a pumpkin spice tax. Did you know that?
Shout out? Seriously, there's a pumpkin spice tax. The story
I read said that products that have pumpkin spice get
a seven point four five percent markup from an actual

(07:23):
product without the pumpkin spice. Now, it was fourteen percent
last year, but it's down this year. That's still paying
a lot more. So if I'm paying more for my
pumpkin spice, you companies better delivery.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
I am too like they charge you more, you're doing
your due diligence on buying all this stuffs.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I wonder I'm broke, I mean seriously, buddy. But also
where you work and I well that too.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I wonder if any of that has to do with
the inflation. Then we are Currncy currently experienced.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Well, I wonder if that was because the fourteen percent
last year. Yeah, it actually inflation. If you ask, you
know the government, they say it's gone down.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Drink it is right, that's that's what we do. Let's
charge you more.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
I was a fan of the hostess with a donuts Yeah,
the don uh, the mini and I'm a straight chocolate
guy with it. When it comes to those, I love those.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
And Phil, we didn't get to try pumpkin bars from
Sugar and Spice sweets to go, and you gave that.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Five out of five to wear. Those guys the right
to my belly. But those are phenomenal to get the
fruits of your labor. Maybe that was a weekend, it
was probably it was probably a weekend and I ate
them all. O, Phil, you gotta hold it back for us.
Come on, I'll share the pumpkin goodness with you.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Also, the pumpkin pies from McDonald's. Those are my wife
Tracy's absolute favorite. I never had all the pies that
McDonald says they do, all the straw and cream, they do,
cherry holiday apphol Yeah, he loves the holiday pipes.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
I didn't know they do all these different ones for like,
you know, the holiday type stuff like pumpkin.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
I didn't know they do one of those.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
Solid and then what you can do is you can
order a little thing of ice cream with it and
you put that on the on the pie. Mind.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Wendy said, a pumpkins pumpkin frost. I did see that
advertise all. And then the cole Grove Freezet has some
kind of pumpkin what is it, pumpkin fries ers. I
don't know. It's well kind of, I don't know what
it's called. My wife showed me the other day and
I said, I got to put that on the list.
But they've got something over there too. So any any businesses,
any restaurants, any sweet shops out there. I'm willing to try.

(09:42):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
You need an endorsement. We need to get to you
to be the pumpkin man. You got the jacket.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Still wear the jack don't. No, I don't have that second.
That was just a stage photo. That was it like
spirit Halloween five years ago and I just put it
on and took a picture.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
I need you need that jacket, Phil, We need you
know what, somebody out there, if you have a totally
pumpkin jacket for Phil, or if you want a nit
him a sweater cos that.

Speaker 1 (10:08):

Speaker 4 (10:10):

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Come on, I want to hear the David S. Pumpkins
impersonation from you.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
