Huked harked, you know, those were the calls outside the
Ice Detention Center in Aurora last night as activists learned
about the arrest of Denver immigration advocate Jeannette Viz Gerra.
She's been in the country since nineteen ninety seven and
gave birth to two children here.

Those children didn't know.

This Garra had been arrested until other advocates called down.

back in two thousand and nine for a minor traffic
violation and falsified documents about her status. She took sanctuary
in a church during President Trump's first term. Senator Michael
Bennett says he's concerned about IS's actions. Senator John Hickenlooper
says that targeting Visgera won't fix the immigration problems.

Only a trace of snow left to the metro area
for some parts this morning, but the wind was the
bigger problem over night, gusting up to seventy miles an hour,
creating white out conditions on the eastern plains.

Still some gusty winds throughout the day, so there are
going to be some blowing snow regardless of whether it
is snowing.

Probably the bigger impact a little bit to the north
of Ia seventy.

National Weather Service meteorologist Bruno Rodriguez says the winds have
already died down along the Palmer Divide, that wind creating
treacherous conditions across southern Colorado.

The Colorado State Patrol responded to five separate rollover on
Interstate twenty five near Wolsenburg. Two big rigs, a Chevy Suburban,
a Toyota Tundra, and a Dodge Ram fifteen hundred, all
pulling trailers were involved in the accidents. Only minor injuries

That same system kicked up a dust storm in New
Mexico last night, leading to numerous crashes.

A prisoner van wrecked on a dust shrouded highway, sending
three inmates to the hospital, and then many vehicles tangled
on I twenty five in near zero visibility conditions. Troopers
had escort drivers out of the area because they couldn't
see the roadway well enough.

They say five semi trucks tangled on US fifty four.
Many highways were closed due to seventy five mile hour
wind gusts stirring up the dust.

The National Weather Service has issued more wind advisories today
for New Mexico, along with Oklahoma and texasvisiting from Kansas
has died while skiing at winter Park. Investigators say the
twenty year old struck a tree on a trail meant
for intermediate and advanced skiers. Life saving efforts were unsuccessful.
The man was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time

Crash and arrest made and the murder of a twenty
five year old mother of two and Frederick back in
two thousand and seven.

Seventy two year old Darryl Berkland has been arrested and
Nebraska accused of the murder of Jessica Brigano. She was
stabbed to death in front of her four year old
daughter and two year old son. Berkland arrested through DNA evidence.

Denver police working to drastically reduce the number of stolen
cars in the state. More than eleven hundred have been
reported stolen so far this year.

DPD, along with Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority known as CATPAW,
is now partnering with the police to provide four hundred
and fifty free air tag and smart Tag Bluetooth devices
to those who register for the Denver Track Auto Theft
Prevention prom Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas Ver Track is part.

between Denver and some surrounding areas.

Oh, that's for sure, Chad. Here in town, of course,
the roads are dry. Volume is not too bad. We're
seeing a little surge certainly in some areas, so we're
a little sluggish, like two seventy and I seventy six.
But yeah, to the west, I was just taking a look.
The foothills early on this morning were pretty icy, especially
Mount Vernon Canyon, Floyd Hill area. They're dry now and
it looks pretty good all the way to Georgetown from

that point west getting up to the divide, and eventually
two Vale will be partially snowpacked anyway, and there is
a closure on the eastbound side right now at Vale.

That's due to a bad accident.

Speaker 13 (05:50):
Of course, out east we've got closures on I seventy
and numerous other secondary highways.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
That's all due to blowing and drifting snow.

Speaker 13 (05:57):
And then of course down south has been tough between
Castle Rock and Colora Springs on I twenty five, and
that includes Highway eighty three to two between Franktown and
the Monument area or Highway one to oh five. So
it will be icedic and partially snowpacked down to the
south also.

But yeah, here in town looks pretty good.

We're not dealing with any problems anyway, Jonathan Steele on

the Central Bank will keep those interest rates right where

we are often trading right now. The Dow is up
one hundred and forty, the Nasdaq is up eighty five,
the S and P is up twenty. The effort to
sell its tariffs continues. National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett
tells Mornings with Maria on Fox Business that just the
threat of tariffs has other nations trying to cut deals.

Countries are coming to us and saying, hey, you know,
we've been acting pretty rough on you guys, but let's
conceive this. Let's conceive this ahead, ahead of our announcement.
And so there's really a lot of positive movement going
on in trade right now.

Yes, It says, he's actually hopeful the teriffs won't need
to be enforced. The EU and Canada s a they'll
impose their own tariffs on US goods right now. When
people get an Amazon order that doesn't work for them
for whatever reason, they can return it by taking it
to a Coal's store.

But that could be changing.

Cole says it's testing out removing its Amazon return services
at least at some stores. Cole started accepting Amazon returns
in twenty seventeen. One of the big problems for people
driving electric cars is how long it can take to
charge them.

There's a new development on that front.

Byd says it can now charge its evs in about
what the same time it takes to fill up a
gas car with fuel. The Chinese carmaker says its new
flash charging system can deliver a megawatt of power in
between five and eight minutes. Good for about two hundred
and fifty miles of driving. BYD doesn't operate in the US,
but last year it became the top producer of battery

both directions basically from here to there and down south.

delays with snow covered roadways and very icy, treacherous driving.
