Speaker 2 (05:09):
Pat Weard will have those stories coming up next.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
First of all, though, let's get another check on traffic.
Jonathan Steel and the Kowi Traffic Center. Quite a difference
between Denver and some surrounding areas.

Speaker 13 (05:20):
Oh, that's for sure, Chad. Here in town, of course,
the roads are dry. Volume is not too bad. We're
seeing a little surge certainly in some areas, so we're
a little sluggish, like two seventy and I seventy six.
But yeah, to the west, I was just taking a look.
The foothills early on this morning were pretty icy, especially
Mount Vernon Canyon, Floyd Hill area. They're dry now and
it looks pretty good all the way to Georgetown from

(05:40):
that point west getting up to the divide, and eventually
two Vale will be partially snowpacked anyway, and there is
a closure on the eastbound side right now at Vale.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
That's due to a bad accident.

Speaker 13 (05:50):
Of course, out east we've got closures on I seventy
and numerous other secondary highways.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
That's all due to blowing and drifting snow.

Speaker 13 (05:57):
And then of course down south has been tough between
Castle Rock and Colora Springs on I twenty five, and
that includes Highway eighty three to two between Franktown and
the Monument area or Highway one to oh five. So
it will be icedic and partially snowpacked down to the
south also.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
But yeah, here in town looks pretty good.

Speaker 13 (06:14):
We're not dealing with any problems anyway, Jonathan Steele on
KWAIT eight fifty am and ninety four one.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
FM Business and Money News sponsored by the Alpha one
Taxi Wealth Managements Financial radio show. Pat Woard joining us
as the Federal Reserves second meeting of the year looks
like it'll have the same result as the first.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
And that result is no cut in interest rates that
we pay on things like credit cards and car loans.
The Fed winds up it's two day meeting today with
an interest rate announcement at noon. The expectation is that
the Central Bank will keep those interest rates right where
they are for now. Investors on Wall Street are maybe
keeping their powder dry until the announcement comes out, but

(06:53):
we are often trading right now. The Dow is up
one hundred and forty, the Nasdaq is up eighty five,
the S and P is up twenty. The effort to
sell its tariffs continues. National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett
tells Mornings with Maria on Fox Business that just the
threat of tariffs has other nations trying to cut deals.

Speaker 14 (07:12):
Countries are coming to us and saying, hey, you know,
we've been acting pretty rough on you guys, but let's
conceive this. Let's conceive this ahead, ahead of our announcement.
And so there's really a lot of positive movement going
on in trade right now.

Speaker 7 (07:24):
Yes, It says, he's actually hopeful the teriffs won't need
to be enforced. The EU and Canada s a they'll
impose their own tariffs on US goods right now. When
people get an Amazon order that doesn't work for them
for whatever reason, they can return it by taking it
to a Coal's store.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
But that could be changing.

Speaker 7 (07:40):
Cole says it's testing out removing its Amazon return services
at least at some stores. Cole started accepting Amazon returns
in twenty seventeen. One of the big problems for people
driving electric cars is how long it can take to
charge them.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
There's a new development on that front.

Speaker 15 (07:56):
Byd says it can now charge its evs in about
what the same time it takes to fill up a
gas car with fuel. The Chinese carmaker says its new
flash charging system can deliver a megawatt of power in
between five and eight minutes. Good for about two hundred
and fifty miles of driving. BYD doesn't operate in the US,
but last year it became the top producer of battery

(08:17):
electric vehicles in the world. Mike Debuski, ABC News or
gas powered.

(09:01):
one last night as Chase Dolander struck out seven in
three and two thirds innings.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
I'm constantly learning every time I go out. So it's
been a lot of fun, you know, just being around
these guys and learning from them and learning from the coaches.
And yeah, I mean, I feel like I'm in a
great spot and I'm ready to go.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
The rookie is trying to make the starting rotation out
of spring training.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
Manager Bud Black says.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
One thing Dolander can work on though, as being more
efficient the best.

Speaker 16 (09:25):
Scenarios that throws the least amount of pitches as you
can right over the over the course of a game,
get in the strike zone, stand the attack.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
And I think he's gonna be cabled out. I mean, yeah,
I think.

Speaker 16 (09:35):

with some confidence, especially his last two outings.

Here's Jonathan Steele. Yeah, it's been an exceptional drive here
in town.

Speaker 13 (14:40):

many problems at all. I twenty five up north is
sluggish from North Glen to downtown. I seventy six down
from eighty five through eighty eighth and two seventy bull
directions here out of Commerce City east side two to

It does break from there heading into I twenty five.
It's the weather related delays west course winter driving, and

I seventy eastbound over Vail Pass has actually been closed
due to a crash in and out east with the
blowing snow. I seventy remains closed all the way to Kansas,
both directions basically from here to there and down south.
It's been kind of grim also on eighty three as
well as I twenty five. So we are looking at
delays with snow covered roadways and very icy, treacherous driving.

choose who I'm going to choose.

Speaker 2 (17:02):

everybody's brackets.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Both Michigan and Michigan State are in the tournament. Are
you going to?

Schoolings otherwise, but we we bleed Maison Blue in our family,
so it will be Michigan. I'll make them go pretty
far in it, for sure. But I'll have to outweigh
my other.

of time left to do that.
