The blame game heating up between Aurora police and federal
immigration officials after two Venezuela men escaped from a local
detention center Earlier this week, koa's David Kale joining us
Live with more on this argument.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain says, simply his department should
have been notified much earlier the men had left the center.

Speaker 5 (00:45):
The Aurora Police Department was not given immediate notification of
an active escape. Instead, we were informed hours later, after
ICE GEO had already lost valuable time for their own
internal response.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Chamberlain says it's unfair and unreasonable to call out his
department for a situation that should have been owned by ICE.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
The Ror Police Department was never asked to conduct an
active search at the time of the escape, nor were
we provided with any of the necessary details to do so.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Chamberlain says there are what they call hot and cold escapes.
Hot one that's reported to police within fifteen minutes, Cold
an escape that's reported later than that. The two men,
ages thirty two and twenty four are still not in custody.

up to Loveland Highway thirty four or forty minutes on
your drive time there and heading into the mountains not

twenty five to southbound is backed up enough you're going
