and be joining me here just a little bit. Besides
the Bucks picking up a Mika Abuka wide receiver from
Ohio State with the nineteenth pick overall in the draft.
Last night the NHL Playoffs, the lightning drop. Another one
gets shut out in the house. Now they got to
defy NHL history, go on the road, get a couple
over there in the Panther's house. I think they could
(03:18):
do it all right. So got that going on. And
of course we always give you a daily nugget, something
to take into your day. I got a good one
coming up Pearl Jam. First, there's black on ninety eight Rock.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
When you need a nugget, a nugget of inspiration, this
is your daily nugget with Crash and aj.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
On ninety eight Rock. And as soon as I saw
this birthday on the list today, I knew exactly what
quote I was doing here on the twenty fifth of
April twenty twenty five. Never hate your enemies. Wop, I'll
(04:03):
do it. What should I say? Never hate you enemies,
It affects your judgment. Never hate your enemies, It affects
your judgment. That is a quote not from al Pacino,
but the character you played in The god Father three,
(04:25):
Michael Corleill. Sometimes you get those one liners, those daily
nuggets from movies with one liners. Man, that's a good one.
And this is so true. Man. Don't get fixated on
your rivals, your enemies, whatever you want to call them.
That's called them living in your head, Brent Free. Never
(04:48):
hate your enemies, it affects your judgment. Yeah, a happy birthday,
al Pacino, eighty five years old today. Take that in
your day, my friends. That's your daily nugget. Man. So
much to take away from last night's NFL draft, The
Bucks getting Mika Buko wide receiver, autible house State team captain,
(05:09):
National champion. What a great pick. It was not on
a lot of people's bingo card, including probably Baker Mayfield's.
But here's what Todd Light had to say about Baker's
reaction to the pick.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
I texted him right away and said, you're gonna like
this one, and then uh, he texted back something and
then asked for his number. So I'm sure they're talking
right now.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
I would have loved to hear what you know, you
heard what he said? What do you think he said?
Talk back feature of the free iHeartRadio at while you're
getting those shoving sent on a shoveing Friday, I'll gather
some stories together trending for the morning Quickie. Aja producer
is gonna be in here live after seven o'clock. This
is Papa Roach of Naughty a Rock in Morning for
in the Morning Quickie on Naughty a Rock brought for
(05:55):
all right. So if you can say record breaking temperatures,
lots of sun nineties and sunshine, then congratulations you're a
meteorologist for the next three days, because that's what it's
going to be like, all right. We do have a
twenty percent chance to range Sunday and Monday hopefully, so
maybe that'll happen because we're got drought conditions out the
ying Yang currently seventy degrees and local stories just kind
(06:18):
of disturbing. The US Army identified Vincent Moran as a
veteran who left as a staff sergeant after being deployed
multiple times in Afghanistand now he's the man that was
seen wearing the tactle gear, karen, a rifle, Couseaway Boulevard
and a Brandon before being shot by Hillsboroughs deputies. Someone
that's served alongside him in combat said he struggled with
(06:40):
PTSD and the actions he took during the incident were
common practice in military training. So I hate seeing that.
If you ever have any trouble PTSD, know what, matter
what the form or source of it is, two one one,
there's somebody getting ready to talk to you right there
on that line. It's used to that conversation. You shouldn't
be afraid do that. Two one one, and that's the
(07:02):
crisis center of Tampa Bay, all right, other things going on.
This is crazy.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
Now.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I thankfully say hold the receipt most of the time,
but now I'm gonna double up on that. Apparently there's
another reason to say no to paper receipts. They can
have high levels of a hormone disrupting chemical called BPS,
and holding a BPS laced receipt for just seconds you
can have serious health consequences. Come on, So the receipts
(07:29):
are the devil. That's the latest, all right, the devil report.
Just the other day I heard that my air fire
was the devil, but I didn't pay attention to that one.
I am paying attention to the receipts. And this one's fun.
A website called screenerant dot com putting a list together
of the fifteen best opening lines in rock. All right,
think about that for a second before I throw these
(07:50):
at you, because some of them are kind of the
categories are a little bit mixed up here. Nirvana at
number six, Come as you are, all right, Come as
you are, as you were as I want you to be,
all right, So that you think of that one right there.
Journey at number five, Just a small town girl living
in a lonely world. Yeah, that's a good first line,
(08:12):
right there. One other ones come to mind. Aja Producer
Rex will be in the studio. We'll go over it
with them. Coming up here in just a little bit.
Along with your shove. It's on a shoved Friday eight
hundred and seven three seven double low ninety eight, or
you can drop your shoved right now on the talkback
feature of the free iHeartRadio app. It We're gonna be
your first chance to win one thousand dollars at nationwide

(08:33):
during your ninety eighty nine so don't miss the very
first one. Matthew didn't. I was actually just putting some
ice on my hip because I just had hip surgery.
Speaker 8 (08:40):
I am going to take that thousand dollars and I'm
going to put that towards my medical bill.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Everybody's got a different reaction. He's been out of work
for a little while too, So make sure you get
every one of those chances. Starting at nine ten am
at Spring to Ching. Here's switch butt at ninety eight ron.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
This is where we say the negativity.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Let's get that issue off your chest. This is you
got me Friday Shoot.
Speaker 8 (09:19):
Crash AJ producer X, Good morning, this is Richard the Roofer,
and I'd like to give a shove to these bumper huppers.
I'd like to ride your bumper out in US nineteen
and then they shoot around you and then they cut
in front of you within inches of hitting your vehicle,
just to pull up behind them at the next.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Red Night shove it you go. Great, take right there
once again scientifically well unofficially scientifically proven to release double means.
And that's scientific talk for good stuff coming out of
your body. Yeah, good morning, producer X. Fresh off the
NFL draft, should be expecting a j pretty soon. Here.
(09:58):
It was an exciting night last night. It was holy
smoked some more waists than one.
Speaker 9 (10:02):
I mean, and I mean, for your dual citizenship, I
had to check on you.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah, I mean, it's we'll get into it the sports keg,
but I'm glad you're back in here. You guys got
a little extra sleep for late night there with the
Buccaneers drafting at nineteen. Whole cup of coffee. Man, it
was a late night. I think I pulled back in
like one, what's what do you got anything on your
shove it docket this morning? Here?
Speaker 9 (10:21):
Ah? Man, you know what, I just want to give
a shove it to all the people I saw Ray
J last night not wearing Bucks gear, all right.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
I mean it was a it was a.
Speaker 9 (10:30):
Buccaneer party, but people were repping the Falcons, people were
repping the Saints.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
People were repping the Jags. That's happened like easy, all right.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
But I gotta tell you, man, that's what happens at
NFL Draft party because no matter if you're whatever, your fail,
they show up. That's the protocol. That's a big thing.
You show up, you rep your team. But you know what, whatever, Man, Yeah,
I'm excited about what the Bucks did, but that's a
that's gonna shove it right there. Yeah, AJ's coming up
here in just a little bit. I'm gonna I'm gonna
(11:06):
circle back the week here. Panthers fans. I got a
couple of Panther fans friends. Man. I saw the end
of that game with a Panther fan. Man. Uh, like
you gotta do they gotta they gotta do something that's historical.
Go in, win a couple over there now and then
run it so they can get back in this thing.
But Panther fans to be the sneak and Panther fans,
(11:28):
I don't know how they are for you guys, all right,
because I've lived in the state all my life. But
I don't consider it's the lowest the steak and Panther
fans can shove it. I'm gonna put it out there.
And secondly, you want to know why we're having so
much problem with the trop thing I did because they
(11:48):
found more on mark graves under the trop again again,
they say, more like they already knew there was something
down there. They're, well, they're all over the Bay area
first of all, but there's there's unmarked graves. They just
found unmarked graves under the one of the parking lots. Oh,
the trops. You tell me all those hotdars eight were cursed.
(12:09):
You're yeah, you're you're wondering why we're having so much
problem all of those things, Like a wow, yeah, so
there had to be many people involved that you it
looked the other way. You get that going there, you know,
in the in the gas plant area. So whoever's involved
the list can shove it on this shove it Friday,
(12:30):
all right. So wow, I was just looking at there.
You're gonna be kidding me. They looked the other way
behind grapes, grapes. We take it up. I don't even
I don't want to get into this. I feel I
feel like I want my dopamines to come out right now.
All right, let his grace get your zi's ninety eight Rock.
Your Home of the Bugs is ninety eight Rock.
Speaker 7 (12:50):
We're the nineteenth pick in the twenty twenty five NFL drafts.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select O Mecca Abuka wide receiver,
ot Aja, Produce Rex were there last nine the morning.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Aj Hey, good morning Crush, Good morning Producer X, and yes,
good morning Bucks Nation and NFL Nation for that matter.
I mean, it was quite the night. So many shakeups
within the draft overall, but of course that pick right
there threw a lot of people through a loop. A
lot of people are expecting it to be defense, hoping
for it to be more of a defensive play. And
to see that a wide receiver got picked number nineteen
(13:26):
for the Bucks.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yeah, it's been popping up a lot during the conversation.
So I'm not I didn't have it on my bingo card,
but I'm not completely shocked. This guy's a team captain
for state national champion and the last time that I know,
Jason Light ends up picking a receiver at number seven
Mike Evans exactly.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
So I mean, well, here's the thing. Not only do
we want to trust in Jason Light, who's been proven
time and time again, but we also had a lot
to learn with last season. I mean, don't get me wrong,
Mike Evans can keep playing until he's eighty seven and
still be putting up these points. I'm sure Chris Godwin,
we don't know how he's going to recover from the injury.
Chris is still going to be Chris. But injuries are
(14:04):
They're tough, you know. Casey Phillips had a lot of
good points in case you missed it yesterday with the broadcast.
But you know one thing's for sure, a good offense
can help a defense. It's about scoring points. And adding
him to this mix is going to be pretty pretty awesome.
He's got incredible leaders to learn from.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
One of my favorite drops was from Jason Light when
they was asked about Baker's reaction check this out.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
I texted to him right away and said, you're gonna
like this one, and then he texted back something asked
for his numbers, So I'm sure they're talking.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
About He was probably speaking Baker there. If you guys
want to fill in the blanks, I'd love to hear
what you think. He said on the talkback tature of
the free iHeartRadio app. Will go over more that here
on your home of the Bucks with the Sports cad
coming up in the next twenty minutes. A ninety eight
rod right, maybe you need some extra money for some
new names on new Bucks jerseys. We could set up
your budget very nicely at nine to ten this morning.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
All right, that's for sure. And you know what, they've
got the new fiftieth anniversary edition with those patches. Take
a look at our socials to get a peek at
some of the stuff to come. But yes, nineteen will
be your first of thirteen keywords going off today for
spring chicking on ninety eight Rock. We got thirteen keywords.
They could land you on one thousand dollars. That means
thirteen people are going to win to day. You just
got to be one of them. Answer I know that
(15:21):
keyword at ninety eight reck dot com, and most importantly,
answer the phone call from the number that says spam,
that says restricted. I'll never see any of our names,
but it happens at the beginning of the following hour.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
I get a Mic Jersey first and foremost another you know,
fifty anniversary Mike Jersey. It's space, and then I just
look at the other ones, just for to be official
on this one. But we got some good players that
choose from We're going to talk about it coming up
here a little bit. On sports kegs, we roll commercial
Free with Hinder on nainety eight Rock Good Morning, Crashing.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
AJ are tapping into the sports k all the local
and national sports headlines on ninety eight Rock all right.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Seven fifty three and a it is the Thursday night.
We're going to cover that right now, all right.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Most definitely, which in case you missed it, the Rays
were wrapping up their series against the Arizona Arizona Diamondbacks
last night over in Arizona. And one thing we did
learn for the game Jake Mangum on the ten day
injured list with a left groin strain, so not going
to be seeing him for another couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Bright spot, really he really has, he really has.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
But you know what, we have another bright spot when
the Diamondbacks ended up falling. It's seven to four in
extra innings last night. For the second straight nights.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Overtime pay for all the players of the Rays. They
get two overtime wins. Yeah, an extra innings and now
we're one game ahead overall record for career record for
both teams were one one game ahead of them. It's
funny how we've both come into the league at the
same time. Yea, that close in stats except for the
World Series they have and we don't.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Yeah, pretty wild there. Speaking of wild, in case you
missed it, the Panthers beat the Bolts last night two
to nothing, taking a two to nothing lead in the
first round of the playoff series, which the Lightning. You
finished fifth of the league in the power play in
the regular season for five well to just two shots
on goal on the advantages.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
We've gotta get the jargon rights to stinking Panthers. Everybody's
got to say stinking before panthers. Just that's the way
it goes.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
I've got other words for it, all right, So you
choose yours, I'll choose mine. One thing's for sure. We
got another chance of redemption tomorrow on the road, all
right in Florida.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
As far as that redemption, you looked up some We
had our research department pretty sure, and he looked up
some things. Would you say, So.
Speaker 9 (17:32):
They've they've come down from to at least two times
before that. I'm looking at two thousand and three against
the Washington Capitals, lost the first two, won the next four,
send it through the Stanley Cup finals, and then twenty
twenty two against the New York Rangers to send them
to the Stanley Cup finals.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
They had to win four straight. So it can be done.
There's not enough. You can't go doing. This is the
lightning we're talking about. This is no other team in
the NHL. We've got some season vets, we've done it before.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
We have the ships stating for the excitement for the
big you know, once we went to Stanley Cup, you know,
for the whole video all thing exactly. Gotta had some
excitement in there. So one pm Saturday, let's go. And
last night, the twenty twenty five first round of the
NFL Draft went down. Starting at eight o'clock. You had
(18:19):
Tennessee Titans with the first overall picks, selecting cam Ward
quarterback from Miami. Then the shake up with Jacksonville and
Cleveland Browns as they hustled out for the number two pick.
The Jags gave up their number five pick, a second
round pick, a fourth round pick, and a first round
pick in the twenty twenty sixth draft to the Browns,
who gave up that number two pick as well as
(18:40):
a fourth round and a sixth rounder.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Didn't have that one on being Ocardi there there, it
was a lot of excitement right there.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Yeah, how'd you feel about seeing Travis Hunter getting selected
to the Jags.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
I'm excited. If those of who don't know, I grew
up in Jacksonville, so I have dual citizenship, and so yeah,
super excited to maybe see those guys win a few
more games, not what they do and jack the bill
a whole lot.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
But yeah, should there Sanders still on the board. He
had a massive party last night, so I'm curious to
know does that party continue, Like, are they gonna do
another one today? Is it gonna go on throughout the
entire draft weekend or just sleepover? A sleepover party and
still going.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
They're gonna have all that. They gona wake up with
their party hats on. But we'll get some more ice
for the coolers.
Speaker 9 (19:21):
Ye, Daddy Diano, come in serving pancakes.
Speaker 10 (19:24):
I mean it's gonna happen, you know. So, yeah, it's
still exciting for him. Sorry, I slid quarterback. He's gonna
get picked. Aaron Rodgers dropped the same way. Damn Marino
dropped the same Tom Brady and I'm not gonna put
his name in the name with those people, but I'm
just saying he's Yeah, it's gonna be there's a lot
of at the end of the world.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
No, never, never, there's so many great picks that come
from all the rounds. Are you kidding me not to.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Mention that I mentioned he got the most nil money
to anybody in college football, so he's gonna be fine.
Point out here, he might take a pay cut getting drafted.
Might actually.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Oh and of course our Tampa Bay Buccaneers landed another
play maker for Baker right there in the first round.
What pick number nineteen, We're.
Speaker 7 (20:05):
The nineteen picking in the twenty twenty five NFL drafts,
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select a Mecca Abuka Ride receiver
o Hi State.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
There wasn't enough Bucks fans in that draft, but there
was here, okay.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Which you know what a little bit of a mixed reaction.
A lot of people shocked. I think overall that was
the general vibe, what you know, a lot of people happy,
some that were like, wait a minute, I thought we
were gonna go on those round so, you know, but
that's always it doesn't matter who's chosen, there's always usually
going to be some sort of shock. And that's the
beauty of the draft, the drama, the suspense.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Yeah, I mean I was looking at some of these
interviews Jason I was talking about you know, yeah, there's
questions of why, you know, was it because of anything
they were worried about.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Chris is still on track. We're still shooting for Week
one with him, and you know, this wasn't had nothing
really to do with Chris's injury rehab right now. This
had everything to do with you know, he was a
player that Todd and I and our staffs obviously had
a lot of meetings. But Todd Knight, at the end
of the day, we had some players that said, if
(21:11):
this player is here, we're gonna take him.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
I mean, he's the captain of Ohio State, won the
national championship. He was basically the big brother all the
badass receivers they got on that roster at all.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Getting drafted, Oh yeah, and he's had some incredible legends
to be you know, working alongside and learning side from which,
in case you missed it, ninety eight Rock We're the Draft.
Last night, we were the first to hear from him
after he was drafted by the Bucks. A great interview
with Pat Donovan and Nick Wise, who hosted the show
last night, and he ended up opening up on his
experience of being drafted, what he brings to the table,
(21:43):
and which butt player he knows and finally gets to
be teammates with.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 11 (21:49):
My guy Dalen got drafted there not too long ago,
so it's been pretty crazy to see the process play out.
He played for a seven on seventeen out here in Washington,
and he was He was a year older than me,
and we never really played together, but we knew he
knew each other. We played against each other a handful
of times, and we stay connected throughout college. So watching
(22:09):
him at the University of Washington do a thing and
then be successful as far in the NFL has been
amazing to see. So I'm excited to be teammates with him.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Finally, I'm gonna have like four receiver sets with four badasses.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
I mean, heaven forbid if anything happens, Man, We've good.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Offense helps a defense that's been said a couple of times.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Are that's there most definitely anyone else helps. Getting free
tickets to check out Billie Idol and Joanes Yet we've
got another round of Florida or not Florida on the way.
If you want to play to win, stand by, it's coming.

Speaker 3 (23:46):

Speaker 2 (23:47):

there was there a money line on that. I'm asking
for a friend. I mean I wasn't because I was
interested in it.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
I mean elementary age and that's where that is terrible.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
I would never ever bet on that, ever same same,
crossed my fingers. Seriously, I would not.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
Well, thanks for sure, though this is pretty wild. We
gotta know, though, what do you think, Chelsea? Is it
Florida or is it not Florida? Not Florida? Jonesboro, Arkansas?
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Wow, that sounds like Arkansas, all right? If they had
headgear on what you could we bet on?
Speaker 10 (24:29):
Then?
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Yeah? I mean they got mouth yards and stuff like that.
We don't know that they didn't. Hey, congratulations Billy Idol
and Jone. Yet it should be a great time, all.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Right, going down May tenth at the amp with what

Speaker 2 (24:51):
All right, shovey Friday, a lot of you gotta get
the negativity out of your body so you can get
into to the weekend. Right, And that's what we specialize
in here on crash and AJ. This is done from
planned City.
Speaker 12 (25:05):
I'd like to send us shove it to all those
door to door solicitors and to shove it to my
mother at the moment for leaving me with a what
finally huge mess, So just shove it.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
Guy. Sounds like a US one thousand dollars right there, probably.
Speaker 9 (25:20):
Yeah for sure, Yeah, sounds like he's just over it,
just shove it.
Speaker 12 (25:25):
Well.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
I hope that helped you know, if you've ever tried
it before, it's free therapy, It really is. It feels
so good at shut up.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
I'm not a scientist, but I think the dopamines come
out of you when you do that, all right.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
I feel looking you finally get to release and let
that go, so that way you can concentrate on other
things like maybe one in a thousand bucks.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
There you go. That's put your focus on nine to
ten this morning. Yeah, that all right.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
Remember enternet ninety eight rock dot com, and most importantly,
answer that song. Call from the number that says bam
happens at the beginning of the following hour. Good morning,
We're ninety eight rock.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
I'm tying for in the morning, quick on ninety eight Rock,
brought to you by Barto Ford. Record highs the next
three days apparently lots of sunshine ninety plus inland, maybe
ninety minus around the beach. Is bug will be hot.
And everybody's weather man this week. You can predict the weather.
You're a meteorologist, and you're a meteorologist, say all right, day, taking.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Morning, Welcome, Happy Friday, Happy shoved Friday, which I'm surprised
we haven't heard of shoved about this one. You guys
here with the City of Saint you just know, uh
thinking about doing here the rumblings they've got a new
vision for the waterfront, okay, one that does not involve
Elan Stadium.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
I'm on man.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
The plan was present of the city Council and shows
an expansion of the Dolly Museum in promis of the
Happy Theater and the construction of a new conference center.
But where al Lang Stadium is sitting, a new Amphitheater
would be built.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Hmm.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
Which Alang was built in nineteen forty seven, and before that,
that's where Babe play ball right there at that same location.
A lot of teams use the facility for spring training games,
and of course the Rowties currently call it home. Which
anybody that's a fan of the Rowdies or anybody else's
is a fan of Alang.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Yeah show.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
I mean in regards to these plans.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Right, if you've been in the Bay Area for any
amount of time, you know the history of that.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Well, I'm sorry, what are they doing with it? Because
I just you had me at bulldozing. What was that?
Speaker 3 (27:23):
No, exactly now hopefully they'd have a backup plan if
they're to do this when it comes to al Lang
and where the rowdies would play. But a report to
the city council says that the faculty has been renovated,
it's still dated and they feel that it's underutilized. But
this this plans only in the early phases quote unquote,
according to one councilman, but this is their new vision
(27:45):
for the whole new and improved waterfront area to try
and expand the Dolly and the Mahafe by knocking down
down Alan to put a new Amphitheater.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Which I mean, I'd like the thought of expanding, but
that's kind of like come on, robbing to pay Paul.
As far as historical stuff in the Bay area right here, and.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
I mean, we already have the parks, you know, so
many great spots where people put on performances things of
that nature already with.
Speaker 9 (28:12):
The Amphitheater on the Tampa side shows My life's live music.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
But you come on, man, comebye sleep.
Speaker 9 (28:19):
If they want to do concerts at al Lane, guess
what they can do that.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
We've done it before.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
I can do that.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
It's happened before, all.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
Right, Ah you got that on a bad idea board.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, shove out. So around one hundred thousand mourners have
now crowded Saint Peter's since Wednesday, with the sheer number
of people wanting to pay their respects, keeping the church
open twenty three hours. The only close for one hour
yesterday morning and plan to do so once again today.
Of course. The funeral mass is scheduled for tomorrow ten
am Local time three am here Eastern time if you
(28:51):
want to catch it on TV or online. As of yesterday,
one hundred and thirty foreign delegations have confirmed that they'll
be present tomorrow at the funeral, with include about fifty
heads of state and ten rating sovereigns. So good news
of your fan of Green Day. They're going to be
getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in
twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
Oh go by time.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
The twenty twenty five class was announced, which also includes
Jane Fonda, Prince Colin Ferrell, Keith Urban, and David Beckham.
They say each Chenorey will have an individual ceremony to
dedicate their star in the Hollywood Boulevard. The exact dates
to be announced.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
Oh yeah, they go about picking those people, it's your
turn to be on a sidewalk. Prince already not have one.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
Well, there's a couple things at play, and of course
you also have to be a part of it as well,
to my understanding, and even pay some money for this.
So there's a little bit of things happening, you know.
But they do say that recipients have what up to
two years to schedule their ceremony, and dates are typically
revealed to the public just ten days in advance.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
No, I think would be really cool because of Barry
has got so many so much history, and so many
celebrities have come out of this area. It'd be cool
to have some sort of stretch of sidewalk for Bay
Area people that should be on there.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
I love that. Maybe they should reach that. Let's get Jane, Yeah,
let's get marriage.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
On the fun one good idea on the morning Quick
the entire river walk just stars, be sure or something
like that. There is a long stretch.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
I mean, there's so many areas already in Tampa where
you can, you know, through the different parks and stuff,
where you can engrave on the stones. Maybe they should
start doing that. People pay to have you know, their
family engraved on there.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Yeah, you read your first here on crashing a j
that's our idea we're taking to the city. If we
get it done, we'll take total credit for it.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Oh yeah, So guys, heads up, you might want to
start using gloves if you handle receipts a lot. Health
researchers say that the thermal paper receipts often have high
levels of a forever chemical called ak BPS, which is
similar to b p A which is in plastics. Uh.
And it's hormone disrupting. Basically a mimics estrogen and can
(30:58):
throw off the normal functioning of the body and voting metabolism,
growth and development, and reproduction. The chemical can be absorbed
through the skin when handling receipt and it's so intense
it just takes ten seconds to have serious health consequences.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
In other words, receipts for the devil, all right, just
throwing it out there. We find out what's the devil
every once in a while. And if anybody ask you
if you want a receipt, would you asked him were
you trying to kill me or something?
Speaker 9 (31:22):
No? I mean I feel like I should be dead already.
The amount of receipts I'm handled in my life. I
feel like I should be dead already.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
They say this isn't a new discovery. They've been working
on this, and German researchers first started warning people the
serious damage back in twenty twenty one. This sucks. Everything's
the devil, but this is terrible.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
You know, I'm not going to pay attention to my
airfire being the devil because I heard that's the devil too.
But receipts come on, man, shove it, shove it, shove it,
shove it.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
And if you travel to what's town where there's AI
ride share, you might want to opt for the humans
because we've been receiving a couple of reports here in
they're talking about an inside the Morning quickie of ride
shares gone wrong, the AI ones. And here's another one.
A self driving waymo taxi over in Austin, Texas. When
haywire this past we get end up stranding passengers on
(32:11):
a busy section of the Mopack Expressway. The car unexpectedly
diverted from its route and stopped underneath the overpass, blocking
traffic in a high speed area. The poor passengers trapped
inside for several minutes, the vehicle unresponsive even Waimo's were
support support remote support team could not regain control. They
(32:33):
couldn't move, it couldn't do anything. Several minutes. Yikes.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
I mean there's not there's hardly any regulations on these
self driving cars. And the taxis the right self driving
ride shares. How easy would it be some brainiac to
hack one of these bad boys? Who knows?
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Maybe that's what happened there. Maybe they're just testing the waters.
I don't know, but I think, yeah, stay with my
human dry Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
I like human drivers, I like human everything.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Yeah, let's be doing business.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
I'm going to take the bus. A matter of fact,
you can just hand hand and write me a receipt, please, human,
all right, just hand it, write me a receipt, will
be good, all right? Yeah, crass and take a blood receipt.
At that point, just tell me how much and I'll
take your word for it, all right, all right. Thirty
minutes away from what we learned, and of course, your
(33:25):
chance at one thousand dollars of spring to Ching cash,
all right, team minus twenty minutes away from that first
nationwide k keyword for spring to Ching. What's your name?
Speaker 6 (33:35):
My name is Angela?
Speaker 2 (33:37):
All right, Angela? So We always talked about reactions. We
hear when you get the phone call. So if you
get the phone call, what and what will you do
with the money?
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Go ticket?
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Okay? All right? Ever like yourself? We like that.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Somebody has a plan already aged.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
For sure, which, by the way, heads up next is
going to be the beginning of May talent. And you
know what about every single week day in May, we're
gonna have a chance for you to one tickets.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
To Metallica because nobody has more tickets than us.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Why all right, tickets on the weekends too. It is
all going down all May Tallica a month long right
here on ninety eight Rock. And speaking of tickets, don't
forget your chance to join us for our official tailgate party.
Tickets on sale.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Now ninety eight Rock Duck, thousand chains on ninety eight Rock,
Tampa Bay's Rock Station. And of course you're in the
middle of ninety eight minutes commercial free every morning we
do this, and bonus, you're less than five minutes away
from one thousand dollars opportunity one of thirteen you'll get
today with Spring to chang Ah. Good morning, we go
over what we learn here.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
We certainly do, which you know what, I learned that
it's pretty exciting going on with our number one draft
pick for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Learned quite a few
things from Jason light as to why they went on
too that strategy, but also learned that he's got a
relationship with Jaylen McMillan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah. Matter of fact, here's him talking about that relationship
right now. Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 11 (35:05):
My guy Jalen got drafted there not too long ago.
So it's it's been pretty crazy to see this process
play out. He played for a seven on seventeen out
here in Washington, and he was he was a year
older than me, and we never really played together, but
we knew he knew each other. We played against each
other a handful of times, and we stay connected throughout college.
So watching him at the University of Washington do a
(35:27):
thing and then be successful thus far in the NFL
has been amazing to see. So I'm excited to be
teammates with him.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
Finally. It's got a good feeling for him, kind of
like to howready have a relationship on the team and
make him comfortable because yeah, you're you're jumping in from
one championship team to another team of grown men. So
that's it's got to be a pretty good feeling. I
want to win my favorite SoundBite from that whole thing
last night, I.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Texted him right away and said, you're gonna like this one,
and then he texted back something and then ask for
his number. So I'm sure they're talking right now.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Baker Mayfield texts something.
Speaker 9 (36:08):
Didn't have an f on so yeah, wild Wild guess
b L.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
Which if you missed the broadcast on Idea Rock, he
missed another awesome moment when Pat town Of and Nick Wise,
who were hosting, actually talked to him after he was drafted,
and uh and during that conversation, that's when he found
out that his Ohio State teammate TYLERK. Williams was drafted
by the lines, right there, live on air. That's cool, wholesome,
awesome moment right there to His reaction was just so pure,
(36:41):
so beautiful.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
And of course there's more draft action going on today.
It was one of the more interesting NFL drafts in
the first round you'll ever see. And Yeah continues this
weekend and producer Rex would you learn man?
Speaker 9 (36:53):
I learned that they are just trying to piss me off.
And I say they it's the people of Saint Pete
when they're gonna talk about dope. Was an aw lang
to do their thing with it, and I just I
get so angry at it. Yeah, it's such a beautiful spot,
and if you're gonna redo it, why not make it
a combo stadium with the rays? Are I throw that
(37:17):
idea in there? May If they're gonna redo the whole area,
are spitballing right, why not put the stadium right there
and watch them jack home runs into the bay there
into the water center field, make it water.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
I don't know, man, some engineers probably got a light
bulb going right now when you said that. I'm sure.
Speaker 9 (37:32):
It just makes me mad that they're trying to do
that for an amphitheater when they can put music there anyway.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
I forgot they could do it a lot.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
There's a lot of spots already for music.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
I think I have an empatheater in my backyard. Actually, I.
Speaker 9 (37:44):
Mean, come on, I love it. Come on, it's a
great spot for a stadium in general. I mean, they
can't put up any more high rise luxury condos down there.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
They can't do it.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
They can't.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
I know they're gonna do, but they can't put any
more up there. I think these people are taking Waterfront
for granted. You know a lot of times when they
it's beautiful ideas.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
It's such a great stadium.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
All right, you know what, I'll go with this one?
The fifteen best opening lines in rock. This website came
out with a list here, and I think it's pretty
interesting when you think about the fifteen best opening lines
and rock. Is there a song that comes to mind
that may be on this list? Between the two of
you right now, best lines for rock? Yeah, the best
(38:32):
opening lines right off the bat, like number six, all right,
number six on this one, come as you are, Come
as you are as you were, as well you want
to be. And that's that's that's a really memorable line
right there. All right? Is there one for you guys?
Speaker 3 (38:49):
I want to rock bad?
Speaker 2 (38:53):
That's a good one right there.
Speaker 9 (38:54):
I mean for me, it's was a Bohemian rhapsody Mama
right start?
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Yeah, that one I could I lost the words right before.
All right, number I'll go, number of Top five, here's Journey,
just a small town girl living in a lonely world.
All right, it's number five. Number four. Won't get fooled
again by the who. All right, we'll be fighting in
the streets. That one I'm not sure tracks with me
(39:23):
too much, but Steve Miller the joker.
Speaker 9 (39:27):
Oh yeah, I mean actually that one. I throw everything
I said away that one. Bruce Springsteen thunder Road. Uh
at number two.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
On that one, I'm not familiar as with Bruce Springstein,
So I'm not sure sure on that one, but I
think they got number one. It's kind of threw me off.
Staying alive by the Beachies. You can tell by the
way I walk with no time to talk know the
(39:58):
words are to take the iHeart Radio app for the words.
That's number one the list though. So that's uh what
I learned on the show and hopa roach on ninety
eight rock and I wonder what Jacoby Shaddocks was saying
when we asked a question earlier about iconic first lines
and songs.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Yeah, what do you think is the best opening line
in rock? Which screen ran dot com put together a
list of their fifteen best. We went over some of those,
but we're also taking your suggestions too. Feel free to
drop them on the talk back feature. On the Free
I Heart Radio app.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
Good Morning Morning Crew, Happy Friday, Chuck carvera Joe here.
I'm not a huge Zeppelin fan, but I do appreciate
led Zeppelin.
Speaker 7 (40:39):
But most iconic opening lyric, Hey, hey, mama said the
word move gonna make you swearch go move.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
I mean, come on, how was that not on there?
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Heyday guys, good good choice.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
But Beg's number one, by the way to sell you
know their list was Papa Roach on that list, cut
my life out, she would be.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
How about this one? Uh, let's go crazy from principal. Yeah,
that's on the list that we are gathering here today.
You do this thing, all right?
Speaker 9 (41:11):
I could think of a billion maybe crazy lots.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Of right there, you hit those dog backs, we'll plas
so as long as you can shoot this one. Only
until ten o'clock. But I got your crash test coming
up as well. Green Day, Good riddings on ninety eight Rock.
It's nine thirty. This is the crash test on ninety
eight Rock. All right, jelly roll tickets all week long,
(41:37):
and uh, he just got a question for you. There's
so much to cover, there's no telling what category the
question is going to be.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
From today the crash Test, which this is to see
Jelly Roll. Next week he's gonna be here with Country
Thunder Big Festival happening a Lot four outside of Raymond
James Stadium. He'll be headlining the Sunday Night Show next
Sunday Night. Uh and you could go there, that is,
if you can correctly tell us which ninety eight rock
artist was announced as part of the twenty twenty five
(42:03):
Hollywood Walk of Fame and we'll be getting a star?
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Got the answer? You get the stuff. That's the way
it works, all right, eight hundred and seven three seven
double low ninety eight? Well, se who's got the answer?
A minute to naety eight rock? Nawty eight rock? Is
this John? All right?
Speaker 8 (42:21):
Man?
Speaker 3 (42:22):
So John, can you tell us which ninety eight rock
star was announced as part of the twenty twenty five
Hollywood Walk of Fame and is going to be getting
their own star?
Speaker 8 (42:31):
The answer is Green Day.
Speaker 2 (42:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
Oh, do you have the time?
Speaker 2 (42:36):
Yeah? And I think we created an idea earlier in
the show that maybe Tampa should have its own rendition
of the Walk of Fame. There's so many notables from
around the area.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
Yeah, and it can encompass everything from veterans to you
name it. You know what is our own version of
the Walk of Fame, which, by the way, the criteria
for receiving a star includes professional achievement, longevity in the
category of five years of more, contributions to the community,
and the guarantee that the celeb will attend the dedication
ceremony if selected, which, by the way, they do collect fees.
(43:09):
Anybody that gets chosen for this got to pay about
what seventy five thousand dollars, which helps to fund the
creation and installation of the star as well as the
maintenance of the Hollywood Walkers Star.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Maintenance is something you don't realize. Good, Oh yeah, you
got somebody's got to wipe that.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
Thing off exactly. Keep it clean. Yeah, man, keep the
keep those streets clean. Well, thanks for paying attention. Guess
what you and a friend get to be a part
of the crowd when Jelly Roll takes the stage A
country thunder next work? Nice any song you're hoping to
hear in particular.
Speaker 8 (43:39):
I like them all?
Speaker 5 (43:40):
Nice?
Speaker 3 (43:41):
Well, enjoy the show with what radio station? The Rocks
the Bank
