Speaker 1 (00:00):
He's deeper in the din with dangerous date. All right,
let's talk beverages. Okay, So the fact that a coffee
and soda company did this poll makes it a little suspect,
but it's hard to argue that it isn't true. The
company that owns Kerrig and Doctor Pepper and a bunch
of other brands released a State of Beverages report. They

(00:20):
found that the most important drink of them all is
you guessed it, coffee. Top beverage Americans say they can't
live without. Sixty two percent agree with that statement. My
day doesn't start until I've had a cup of coffee.
Sixty nine percent agree with drinking coffee every morning is
my happy place. It doesn't mean, though, that coffee is
our favorite drink. It's just the one we need in

(00:41):
order to function during the day. I know some people
that are like that, they're desperate without their coffee. America's
favorite beverage, though, is soda. Fifty three percent enjoy the
taste more than any other beverage. Well, that's because it's
not proper to be drinking beer in the morning. Deeper
in the There's countless excuses for voting tasks off, but

(01:01):
what do you need to do to get in the
zone and get stuff done? People online sharing weird productivity
hacks that actually have worked for them, and I guess
I'm thinking anything's worth a try, right. Some of the
best ones include how much can I get in before
this song ends? The five minute rule? If I have
a task that takes less than five minutes, I should
do that right away. Listening to the right thing, whether

(01:22):
it's generic white noise, classical music, something instrumental, just to
get the work done, switching rooms depending upon the task,
writing kitchen emails, bedroom floor. My brain thinks it's a
new job each time, and I stay alert, burning a
candle with certain sense every time I do a new task,
and having a resistance band around my legs and my
work chair and doing extensions when I get distracted. One

(01:45):
person said, hating somebody and wanting to do better. Well,
anything that motivates you to get your work done, I guess. Also,
before you start anything, think for ten minutes, how are
you're going to do it? Tidy as you go, Train
yourself to look around before you leave a room, pick
something up and put it away before you are going.
Other weird productivity hacks that have worked for people give
themselves a deadline, they'll make it. They'll get it done.

(02:07):
If they don't make a deadline, then they won't get
it done. One person said, every time I make an
important call, I put on something that makes me feel
more confident and professional. Also, putting slips of paper in
a jar and drawing one randomly, it's like a game.
It makes the list a little less overwhelming. Also, one
person said, put an entire row of garbage bags in

(02:28):
the garbage can. It's much easier. I guess that's a
productivity hack. And one person said, pretend to be incompetent
so somebody will step in and help you do it. Really,
is that what everybody around here is doing, because man,
they're good actors. To me, they can for another episode
of Deeper in the Den with Dangerous daved right here.
