I live this time of year, all the holiday, all
the fun, all the shopping, and it's coming together tomorrow
night outlets of Castle Rock. I have helped light the
Christmas tree, this massive Christmas tree for years and they
always have the best entertainment. But this year, hey, it's taking.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Up a much.

Speaker 3 (00:24):

I'm doing wonderful and Naya Damison.

Yes, I'm so happy to be here. Thank you.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
I'm happy to have you both in studio and I'm
excited to see you both perform tomorrow night.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Oh we're ready to go?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Yeah? Does? Is this your first trip to Colorado?

Speaker 5 (00:42):
This is my first time. I've been to the airport
many many times, but I've never left the airport, So
first time really.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
In Denver, we have a massive airport, don't we.

Speaker 5 (00:50):
It's very big DA Airport.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Do you ever hear the and you flew into DA too?

Speaker 6 (00:55):
Right?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Have you guys ever heard the conspiracy theories about DA? No?

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Tell it?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Well, if you walk around before you leave, okay, before
you fly out, walk around DA and you'll see these
strange I think they're still there, all these strange murals
and paintings, and they're like, what does that mean? There's
lizard people living below? Oh, and there is this massive
tunnel system underneath DA and people are saying, oh, that's
where they're going to hide when the world comes to

(01:23):
the end and apocalypse and then the big Lucifer horse
with the red eyes. Yeah, well google conspiracy theories at DA.
I'm gonna do it, yes, before you go back, so
you can walk around and check it out. All right,
let's get to the happy stuff. So the outlets of
Castle Rock. I live close to there, you guys, I've
lived there for over twenty five years. It has massive,

(01:43):
it has grown. I shop there all the time. As
a matter of fact, you see that handbag Michael Cores, Yes,
thank you.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
I know I'm ready to shot. That's one thing for
sure too.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
That's like I saw the coach outlet. I'm already making
a bee line for it.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Yes, they have so many cute things. The cosmetic store
to get all the makeup and everything. So but on stage,
we're not only going to light the gigantic Christmas tree,
which I think is probably the biggest Christmas tree in Colorado.
It's beautiful. But we're also going to have you guys
perform on stage, right, So Trevor, let's talk a little
bit about your experience. Where did you start with singing?

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Yeah? I started when I was eight years old. Kind
of the first thing that I remember was singing in church,
as a lot of Southern people and country music do.
And started singing with the local orchestra when I was eight.
It was like my first time performing for like a
thousand people. I I want you back by the Jackson
five oh, and had a lot of energy. It was

(02:41):
really really cool and got a standing ovation that night
and just kind of remember like, oh yeah, this is
this is fun. That's what I want to do with
my life. And went to Belmont University, got a degree
there and have just been putting out a lot of
music since I graduated.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
And you know what's so cool is you talk about
being brought up in the church. Is it Southern Baptist
or Southern Baptist?

Speaker 7 (03:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah, yeah, so coming from a church like and where
they sing can you hear him Jesus?

Speaker 8 (03:10):
Right?

Speaker 6 (03:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:11):
So my husband's Catholic, so when we go to the
Catholic church. I would actually sing at a wedding at
a Catholic church and they're like, we don't sing like
that here. It was like, what, so it's much more like.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
This choral more of a choral thing.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah. I had to learn how to like bring it
back a little bit. People looked at me like oddball.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
All right, Naya.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
When you walked in, I said to you, I knew
you before I knew you because you're not only a singer,
and you're also an actress. And you were on Gray's Anatomy.
You paid played a patient that unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer,
but you wanted to sing, and you wanted to go
to Broadway.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
So she wanted to sing on Broadway. I played Kimmy
Park and it was such a special experience. It was
my first time really on set of a TV show,
and all of the cast members treated me so kindly,
and it was so amazing to be able to combine
singing and acting.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
And also it was such a heavy.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Acting role, so much drama and yeah, and then I
got to I got to sing Broadway as well, So.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah, fun.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Even though it was a heavy roll, you brought so
much light to it. And with your singing there. How
old were you when you tape that?

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Goodness?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I think I turned thirteen on set. It was so interesting.
They were doing a surgery scene and I actually had
like like a fake brain on top of my head
and I had to sit at the side and they
were singing Happy Birthday while I was just laying down
with that thing on my head.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
I was like, thanks, guys, okay, I'm ready to go now.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
And it was so it was almost like a year ago,
because tomorrow's your birthday from what I us said, Yes, right,
so it was. And how old are you now?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
I'm gonna be twenty tomorrow?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Oh so almost seven years ago.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
So long ago.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Wow, And Trevor brought his geeitar so we might have
to sing her happy birthday.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Travel.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
That's very cool. Now at twenty years old, you would
be running around the hospital looking for mcdreamiam e steem
me exactly.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I'm at that age where I can play a doctor.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Is crazy. Yeah, that's cool. They should have you back.
You're so good. And Trevor, I know you're really involved
in social media. Oh yeah, yeah, I mean, and you
have a lot of followers. Is that impacted your career?
In the way you do things now.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
It's honestly been everything for me. I started releasing songs
in twenty twenty. I just decided, you know what, we
got a lot of stuff not going on so with
COVID and everything, so I might as well start putting
out songs, putting them on TikTok, and it's just been
really awesome to see people connect with I love love songs.

(05:43):
I put out a lot of love songs and a
lot of people have connected with those and have wanted
me to sing at their weddings and have used it
for their weddings, which is awesome and just definitely a
big honor to be a part of so many people's
biggest day of their life. So it's really cool.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
What do you think is the most popular love song
from you right now?

Speaker 5 (06:04):
If you've heard any of my songs, you've probably heard
the song Keeper and that's actually this just in just
cracked four million strings on Spotify today, so very excited
about that. Another one that I released in February is
actually on track to kind of blow that out of
the water. It's called Promise You That. So those are
the two songs that people have really kind of gravitated

(06:27):
towards with love.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Are you going to sing those tomorrow night at the outlets?

Speaker 5 (06:33):
I am yeah, there's you know what, Christmas brings a
lot of love out of people, and so it's like,
you know what, I can't not sing those love songs.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Oh yes, man, Oh that's going to be so nice.
And tomorrow it all kicks off right around four o'clock.
We're going to go on throughout the evening. I think
the Christmas Street don't we light it at like around
six o'clock? I think I have to look at my
this is so sad. Enjoy just turning twenty because I
have to get readers to read this.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
Here's some small print.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
I can remember. Tell me if you can read that
and be honest, because if it's a strain on your eyes.
Oh wait, you are wearing glasses. Oh my goodness, so
can you read that too?

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Oh my goodness, I have to have it way closer.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Okay, good I was wondering.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Am I really not the only one? Okay?

Speaker 6 (07:18):
Thanks?

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Daul I replied to him. I'm like, hey, can you
make this just a little bit bigger? Plays So you're
gonna take the stage and you're gonna sing those two songs.
How many songs are we gonna hear from you tomorrow night?

Speaker 5 (07:28):
So I've got like a thirty to forty five minute set.
So if you come out, gonna do obviously some Christmas songs,
I'm gonna do some originals, and then we're gonna sprinkle
in some country covers, some classic songs that you definitely
will know. So so don't miss it, come on out.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
I'm so excited. And you're on tour right now.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
I am.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I'm on tour with an artist named Bell's and we've
done fourteen dates over the last couple of months. So
I was in New York last week, was in Los
Angeles the week before that, and we're just we're hitting
all sorts of spots.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Congratulations, doing amazing.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
So Naya, let's talk a little bit about you and
your role that you've been, you know, because in life
you've acted, but you're also singing. Tomorrow we get to
see a lot of your talent singing wise. Are you
pursuing acting still?

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Oh yes, I think well, music was my first love.
I started singing when I was around two years old,
taking to the stage at five, and you know, I
think I'll always come back to music, but acting is
really what I love that I found and something that.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I wasn't good at first but I grew to love.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
And of course actively I'm still auditioning. And you know,
I just did Drakie Laura and Monster Hide the movie Wow,
and so that has been probably one of my greatest honor,
another project where I got to mix music and acting.
So yeah, and I'm releasing music now, so at them
doing them at the same time.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Yeah, talk about them music that you're releasing now and
where we can find it.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Yes, So you can find me on all streaming platforms
at Naya Damison that's n A y A H D
A M A s E.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
N okay And you're going to release some of the
new music on there.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Yes, Yes, I will be releasing a new song called
for the Plot sometime in December. And this is actually
my first year ever releasing original music. And I'm collaborating
with amazing producers that I got to meet on Monster High.
Their names are Matt Wong and Jason Pennock, and they've
been so collaborative, so amazing, and it's been great finding

(09:38):
my voice and my footing in music and I'm doing
it all independently, so oh.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Wow, congratulation. Yeah, thanks, I'm excited to see more and
follow you on TikTok too. Yes, of course, what are
some of the goals you want to achieve in the
new year? Besides you know, of course releasing that new music.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Yes, releasing that new music, but also hopefully to create
a debut album and go on tour is probably one
of my biggest dreams. I love to travel, and to
be able to visit new countries or new states, you know,
like Colorado and get to bring my music to them
is a dream come true and something I've always wanted

(10:14):
ever since I was a little girl.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Oh so cool. You'll have to come back and take
some time to snow too in the high Country.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Absolutely. I know.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I'm leaving the day after the performance, and I wish
I had more time. It's just like, there's so many
beautiful places to sit here.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Yeah, you are. People want to see perform, especially around
this time of year. How long are you going to
be on stage?

Speaker 9 (10:34):
So?

Speaker 1 (10:35):
I will be performing for about twenty to twenty five minutes. Okay, yeah,
a shorter time, but still there to have fun.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Yeah, you're going to be able to knock out quite
a few songs in that time, though.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, I'm gonna make sure to live that twenty to
twenty five minutes as much as I can.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
And Trevor, I forgot to ask you, what is your
handle on social?

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (10:54):
Mine is just Trevor Martin Music.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Trevor Martin Music, easy enough, And I got to warn
you both, it's going to be packed tomorrow night. I
love it the entire town comes out for this. It's
like a Hallmark movie.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
That's perfect.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
It really it's a lot of fun. So what are
your some inspirations some of your inspirations for the new
year or Trevor.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
Yeah, So for twenty twenty five, I'm really looking forward
to just kind of doing what I did last year,
or at least ten songs in twenty twenty four and
just being able to see everybody kind of connect with
those songs in a unique way has been awesome, and
so I just kind of want to do more of
the same and continue to keep feeding Spotify, keep putting

(11:32):
those out and hopefully have people want to use another
song for a wedding or want to use it and
just throw it on their playlist and listen to it
every day, So yeah, just kind of continuing to put
more songs out. Kind of my thing right now is
like Naya said, you know, just we're always trying to
discover what our sound is like and just how do

(11:53):
we make it better? How do we keep going? And
right now kind of my thing is like I want
to Lewis Capaldi, you meet country Music, meets Dan and Say,
meets Ed Sheer and meets Trevor Martin. So kind of
all those inspirations.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Wow, that's not like any challenges there or anything. There's
some amazing singers.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
Yeah, well, you know, big Lewis Capaldi has big, booming,
emotional songs, and I feel like that kind of is
a void that was left open after Rascal Flats was
kind of like, hey, we're gonna kind of retire for
a little bit and not do some stuff. So hopefully
kind of coming in and filling a void there of
just big emotional country song.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
You're so talented though, you really are. I mean, you
can fill those shoes. Listening at Trevor Martin Music, check
them out and you will agree, go, yeah, I get that,
I get that, And so I want to mention again tomorrow.
It kicks off at four o'clock at the Outlets of
Castle Rock, huge place. It's going to be beautiful. Get
ready to shop afterwards too, because there's gonna be plenty

(12:53):
of deals for you to shop for your holidays. The
outlets is such a special place to shop, with so
many different outlets at really affordable prices. Before we get
to the music, Naya, is there anything you have coming
up you want to promote? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:06):
So along with my upcoming single for the Plot that
will be coming out in December, I will also be
in a musical theater project in California. So if you're
out there, go ahead and check it out. It's with
the Linko Family.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
What part of California.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
It'll be in Thousand Oaks, Thousand Oaks, California, So that's
in SoCal And I'll be in Peter Pan a tinker
Bell at Christmas Story and I'll be playing tinker Bell.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Gosh, so cute.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Do you know why I'm originally from southern California?

Speaker 5 (13:35):
Are you really?

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Yeah? Part on Riverside, Okay, but we moved there from
there when I was just turning thirteen. I was about
thirteen years old and we moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Speaker 8 (13:45):
Oh wow.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Yeah. And then I met my husband in HAVISU when
I was nineteen years old and he was from Colorado,
and that's how I ended up here. Nice thirty three
years later, we're still married. Yeah. So and what about you?
Anything you want to share? This stub coming to promote.

Speaker 5 (14:00):
You know, right now, this coming off of the tour
is kind of like a reload. I'm writing a lot
of songs with some really incredible people in Nashville, one
of which is my best friend and a guy who's
really like my brother, is pretty big here in Denver, Colorado.
His name is Spencer Crandall. I don't know Spencer at all,
but we actually just wrote yesterday and then I flew

(14:20):
out here last night. So just kind of working on
writing as many songs as I can and just having
something that, like I said, I've said it a lot
of times today, but just something that connects with people.
And so I'm trying to find that next thing that
I feel like is really going to connect. So yeah,
that's kind of the goal for moving forward is just well,
you'd write and keep putting them out.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Can't let you go without singing. You brought your guitar,
So go ahead and get in there.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Yeah, we'll do it.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Let's do it. We will at least have to sing
Happy birthday to Naya. And we have mom in the
studio too. Okay, Me me, me, me, I gotta get
ready to twenty, to be twenty again, my gosh, and
you're just so listen. Take every picture you can right now,

(15:05):
every seriously. I mean, you are simply gorgeous. You're gonna
age beautifully, You'll always be gorgeous. But at twenty years old,
oh my gosh, geez. If there were cell phone cameras
when I was twenty, I'd be like, snap, snapsack. Are
we ready?

Speaker 5 (15:19):
Driver, We're ready, let's go.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
You want this?

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Here you want Yeah, it's fine. Whatever you're comfortable with.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Happy birthday, Happy birthday too, happy bed, Happy birthday.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Yeah, many more, a big two.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Oh yeah, I got your vocal.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Please hear many more? Come on, will you mind singing?
You're one of your biggest hits keeper.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 5 (15:53):
This is to celebrate four million streams on Spotify, So
go check it out, ma'am.

Speaker 7 (16:02):
Look at her and see it all down to the
blue Jean family portrait on the wall. Yeah, I ain't
held all like this before, because I ain't ever been
so sure what I got. So i'm'a keep her safe,

(16:25):
keep her close, keep her laughing when she needs a joke,
keep her issen on the stars, keep her wraps up
in my arms. I'm'a keep her young even when we're great.
He bats mine along her face. There's no way in
the world I ever believe because my girl, she's a keeper.

Speaker 8 (16:53):
My girl, she's a keeper. Yeah, she's a keeper. And
there's no world out every leaven she's a keeper.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
