One of my all time favorite movies ish Some Like
It Hot? Yes, love it, love it. Have not seen
the Broadway show? Okay, So from the Broadway show, Edward,
I don't know how to say your last name, Javier Hoovier.
So you're in this Broadway touring of musical right, Yes.

It's a musical version of the classic film Some Like
It Hot that starred Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemon
and they have taken the old story and revamped it
and sort of made it fresh for today's audience.

So how has it changed about giving.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Any spoilers away. It's taken some of the problematic tropes
that maybe exists in the old film and it's sort
of embraced it in a new light. So yeah, and
brought it to the new audiences.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
So how long have you been with the company now?
Speaker 3 (00:50):
The touring company we opened in September, okay, yeah, and
we're contracted for another year, but the show goes on
for a year after that. So you know, I'm very
excited to be presenting this show, especially here in Saint Louis.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
So talk about who you play. I don't want to
give too much a way a can yes.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
And no spoilers, but I play osgood Fielding, the third,
who is the proprietor of the famous Hotel del Coronado,
which is in.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
San Diego where my brother lives. Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Absolutely, And the show is set in the nineteen thirties
during Prohibition era, and I play a millionaire in that
time period who falls in love with one of the
characters in the show and really just opens everyone's heart
to acceptance and accepting who they are. So it's a
really special role. It's actually my favorite role that I've
ever played.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
That's a huge thing to say.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
It really is. And I don't say that lightly. I
really don't.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, because you've done a lot of plays and musicals,
You've been doing this ear braking a.

Living at it, which is wonderful.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Absolutely make your MoMA Papa proud. Yes, you've been to
Saint Louis before us.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yes, I've done so many shows at Stages Saint Louis,
starting like an two thousand and five, I believe. Wow,
I've done almost twelve shows there and I'm big friends
with so many of the arts community here in Saint Louis,
the actors, directors, designers, This is such a wonderful city
for the arts. They explore it, they accept that, they

embrace it. So it's always a pleasure to come back
to Saint Louis.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
People that are from here, and I'm originally not from here.
I'm originally from LA. And people are more into the
arts here.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yes than in LA.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yes, especially theater. It's really a wonderful thing with the Muni,
with a rep, with stages and so many wonderful theater companies.

What is the one thing that you love to eat
when you come to say this?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
So I've just been answering this question.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
I love the ribs at Pappi's, Come on, they are
so good. But really, all the food in Saint Louis
is terrific.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Little toasted rab is good, yeah, se rabs.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Yeah, the easy gooey buttercake. Oh, come on, we love
all these things.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Lewis, you've done a lot. I'm looking at Godspeed Pioneer.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Yeah.

Yeah, so was it stages Yeah, yes, they miss yes,
PanAm of the op.

All at the Fox Theater. I did they miss and
Phantom at the Fox Theater? So I'm so fabulous to
be back there. Fabulous at the Fabulous Fox.

Isn't it amazing?
Speaker 2 (03:10):
So wait a second, that would mean that your signature
or picture is up somewhere.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Yes, yeah, this will uh some like it. Hot will
mark my fifth signature on the walls of the Fabulous Fox.
If you don't know, they have these incredible everyone that's
ever played at the Fox and every show that's ever played,
all the cast members and crew and everybody signs on
the wall. So this will be my fifth time. I'm
so excited.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Now when you're touring all these different theaters, is the
Fabulous Fox one of the few that do that?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Uh? There are many theaters that do it, but not
so many with the history that the Fabulous Fox has.
You know, it's really one of the great roadhouses of
the country.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I totally agree with you.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
I know, people that come for the first time go,
oh my gosh, factors, performers, artists, mean just it's it's incredible.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah. Camp Usually theaters are really special in the lobby,
which of course the Fabulous Fox is, and most are.
But what's special about the Fox is that it's it's
even more special backstage. Yeah, that is that really brings
the history to it.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Well, I'm so glad that you're here. And for people
that know nothing about some like it hot nothing about
the Marilyn Monroe film. I know it's it's it's basically
song dance. It's spectacular numbers. But is it more a comedy?
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Is it more?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
How would you expe it is one percent of comedy.
You will be laughing hysterically. So just a quick little
blurb on the show. It is a It's about two
brothers who witness a mob killing and they have to
go on the lamb and disguise themselves as women in
an all girl band and from their high jinks and zuits.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Yeah, And I don't want to give away I remember
in the movie. I think they both kind of like
the same girl.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Well it's a little now. This one has been updated, okay,
so some of those storylines are just broadened the little
in our version. I like it, Yes, and it brings
it into the new world.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
I love you.

So if you love the old film, you will absolutely
love this new version.

And if you are new to it completely even more so.

Yes, absolutely Yeah. Many people actually experience this story for
the first time with our musical and they end up
loving it. So it's great to bring this old classic
story to a whole new generation.
