Speaker 1 (00:00):
Honey House sunny with the high eighty nine sixty eight

(00:02):
right now. Have to give it to the Beach of
the Jeep Drivers. Jeep Beach twenty twenty five. It's happening
right now, start on eighteenth and goes into the twenty seventh.
Because I remember when they tried to do it and
they were shutting them down. Say, look y'all need to
get some permits. Yeah, we need something. Johan and I've
been talking about this for years off the air. They
tried to bootleg.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah, it did, and they pissed off the city and
so we were like, dude, if they would just do
this the right way, it'd be like Bike Week.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
And they have and now tend they got a it's
gonna be from it. It ends on the twenty seventh.
They got a I mean a lot of the things
going on. I talked to a listener a while back
who she told me, you know that she was an
empty nesster nestor, but her life changed when she joined
a jeep club. Yeah, and she's like, you should join
it too. Now we have a great time to get together,
all of us get out and on the jeps.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
I'm like one of my good friends just bought a
jeep and she said it's so so different. Really, she
just drives down the road now. I only had it
for like a month, and she said, it's so crazy
how different it is. Everyone's like, what's up they see
because you're part of the club.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Just get the little duck thing and people just come
by and put ducks on you your car. I want
a jeep, but I want to old beat up one
with no doors, no ceiling, and you just started with
a popsicle stick. That's what kind of I want, like
a school and like right now it's not too hot
and you just ride out with it. Yeah, you got
one of those radios that you have to pull the handles,
you know from back?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yeah? Yeah, did you pull out? You want to?

Speaker 1 (01:24):
I want to jeep like that man. But they're in
the car club and they were talking his money. Your
sister dated the guy.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
With my gosh, yes, old school little rudder car.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
I think he had it was like a yellow I
think it was a three thousand GT. Oh yeah, holy,
like he named his car. They had the car club
name on the front, like windshields.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
And then they would meet up like all the time
and like parking lots and just like chill with their
cars and just talk about like car pieces.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
And yeah, I hated those guys when I was growing
up because I drove a buck it so my car
wouldn't fit in the car clubs they had. Their cars
were all you know, customized, and they were always at
the car wash cleaning. And I said one they I
don't want to have me a car and I can
take to the car wash, That's what I want.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Who were so serious and they were like, oh, you
need to take your shoes off before you get as Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
When I was in school, it was low riders.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Okay, so there was these two twins and they had
these pimped out low riders. I was friends with them,
but like, I couldn't partner them, Johnny said, because I
had I had a beat up car, but everyone wanted
a low rider. And they all had phrases on them.
Like I had a guy who had a little again
the old school cutlass. He had it dropped and said
champagne for two across the bottom. Yeah, it was champagne

(02:44):
colored crows.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Yeah. Did they love the flea market too because they
could get the market? Yeah, you could get stereos whatever,
I'll never forget that.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
They were at the at the car wash and I
just happened to buy Man because I was friends with them,
and they say, hey, man, you need to roll with us.
I said no, The guy said right out, and they
all jumped in their cars and.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Movies. Yeah, except I didn't.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
I was like, I'm not pulling my bucket used to
in the passenger side. I was never driving my own car.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
It's still you know, you can tell the car clubs
really come out when it's a new, fast and furious.
Oh yes, But now these car clubs are y'all doing
some danger stuff. Well you have it in a while
because the police are looking for you. Will you take
over a block and just spin your car too?

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Bid?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Off for social media.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I want to find out if you're in any type
of club right now, or you're in a car club
or one of those back in the day. Also, if
you go into a jeep beach, I will to make
sure I say it right if you're in a car
club growing up, if you're in one now. I like
the fact they took pride in their cars, and that's
one thing about them. They didn't get in a lot
of trouble because they they hung out with each other,
they did everything together. It was just like, this is
our family, this is our car club. And and I

(04:00):
guess somewhere in life you kind of just you grow off,
you get responsibilities, and you can't put all that much
money in a car. Got a pair of tickets see
Halsey at the Mid Florida Credit Union Ampitheater coming up
on Saturday, May twenty fourth. I want to hear about
any type of club that you're in, or if you
want to in a car club now or is in
one back in the day. You still got the prie,
you still got the shirt and the jacket in the closet.
You know that four oh seven now one nine one

(04:20):
O six seven eight seven seven nine one nine one
o six seven XL mobile four one O six seven
live stream, social media. I want to hear from you
two car clubbers, are in any type of club? Let
us know somebody's gonna go see Halsey. But you gotta
call Johnny's house now, see Abram. It is a six
fifty four in Johnny's house. Expect to be a lot
of sunshine, no rain today once again. Eighty nine is
are high. It is sixty eight right now talking about

(04:41):
car clubs or clubs that you belong to from back
in the day. Because they got the big Jeep week
going on in Daytona. They finally got together because before
they was like, get out of here with you jeeps.
Got a pair of tickets to Halsey for one of
you calling in. Let's go over to Claremont and talk
to Shannon.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Hey, Shannon, Hey, how are you good? Good? Who was
in a car?

Speaker 6 (05:00):
Well, they didn't have a name, but my dad. When
I was a child, we had to go like every
weekend to every little fast food food restaurant and they
would have all of their car clubs sit out there.
You know, everybody's parked out in the parking lot. We
had to show everything. My dad actually was in a
group that we would refurbish their cars, and so he

(05:20):
had a forty six climent that we would have to
take with us every time, and he called it a
purple slurt.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Now you wanted to go or you had to go.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
We had to go. We didn't have a choice.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Well, listen, he wanted his family with him.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
A lot of people say, well, y'all just stay home,
but he said, no, I want my family with me.
Y'all gonna come out here and just sit and sit
at the car and watch people look at our car
exactly exactly.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
And then it got to the point where you just
were so used to going You're like, yeah, this is
this one. This is a forty six plument, and you
would tell them everything about your father's car, and you
were like, now to this day, I'm like, oh, that's.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
My dad's car.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
And what age you just up going? About thirteen thirteen? Yeah,
that's about three. That's about right.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
And at that point the reason I ended up leave
it not going at that point is it kind of
got creepy, creepy, and we were like, we're like, hey,
there's this young girl here my cow buy.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Your dad's like, yea, go ahead and stay home. Yeah, yeah,
it's okay.

Speaker 1 (06:21):

out what is this is number?

Speaker 3 (06:50):

Speaker 6 (06:54):
Say your name was?

Speaker 1 (06:55):

Speaker 3 (06:58):
So what do you guys do? What do you you
to now? Y'all have the meetups or what do you do?

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Yeah, there's quite a few.

Speaker 7 (07:04):
There are the events where we go out to the
track together or autocross, and there'll be events where we
go there's an event every month showcasing different courses at
a local distillery and we go out and just hang
out in parking lots, talk about cars, you know that
type of stuff.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
How many how many is in the in the club?

Speaker 7 (07:23):
Oh, in the Central Florida chapter on not Train there's
got to be a few hundred. I think.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (07:27):
So yeah, it's pretty fun.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I can imagine you Hold on second, what do you say.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Over to somebody is a part of a ladies motorcycle
group called Stilettos on Steel.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Okay, nice excel moment power by Attorney Dan Neulan interrect
need to check it's in a brander call Attorney Dan
Newlin someone's in a motorcycle riding club.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
They do it every Saturday.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
And then someone said they were in a car club
called over the Limit in the Bronx. They they had
a president, a vice president, and a treasury.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
That's right, that's right. They were real legit in because
you were forced to go to the car club. We're
gona hook you out with a pair of taken seat
Halsey coming up at the Mid Florida Credit Amphitheater, coming
up on Saturday, May twenty fourth, rate Hi of eighty
nine and uh, it got the what did you say?

Speaker 3 (08:11):
It was, Raye? I forgot the righting.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
Now it is currently sixty six.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Sixty six, all right. Yesterday I have to pick the
kid up from school. We sat down and had a
conversation about summer, because school's out in a month. Yeah,
one month or maybe a little bit more or less
unless you're graduating in this before that, man, we were
talking about exams and exam schedule and this that and
the other. And we start talking and we said, okay,
let's come out come up with a plan for the summer.

(08:35):
And we sat down and talked about this and okay,
we'll start your you know, your your driving lessons and
we'll do this, and we'll do this, and is that
the plan? He says, all right, all right, then that's
the plan we're gonna roll with. So that's our plan
for the summer. And you have to do that if
you have kids, because now you're used to that daily
routine of you know, car line school, picking them up,

(08:56):
blah blah blah. But when school is closed, you gotta
find other things. So that's the plan that we have
for him. We'll also probably go to North Carolina a
couple of times, and then he and I'll get away
somewhere and then I'll take a week just unparent and
go do something. What are your summer plans?

Speaker 4 (09:12):
So the kids are going to go to camp. They
have like their one camp that they're going to, and
then they're going to a gymnastics camp and they wanted
to go to Okay, so we're kind of like splitting
it up. And then my dad is working down south,
so we're gonna go see him and have a little vacation.
I'm also having surgery this summer, so I don't really

(09:34):
have any like vacation really, so I'm parenting and surgery.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Wow, great summer. Yeah, Brian, what are you planning?

Speaker 2 (09:43):
It's always my wife and I's anniversary because we got
married in July, so we're gonna have a little get
together at our house for our anniversary. But then we're
also going on a cruise. So we've got a seven
day cruise planning in July.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Seven Yeah, we got a good deal on it.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
They were running some special where they include a bunch
of stuff, so drink packages and all that stuff included,
and I had like a twenty percent of voucher from
my last cruise, So.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Yeah, we got a really good deal on it, and
it reason what are you doing? I feel like with
all this work that I've been doing lately.

Speaker 8 (10:11):
Somewhere here in the next couple of weeks, are you
going on to the cruise? What are you find I'm
going to cruise with my family. Yeah, yeah, oh gosh, wow,
that's coming up so quick. Yeah, doing it for my
mom's birthday. But I mean, you guys know, I work
so much. I think what I really want to do
this summer is spend quality time with my family and friends.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Like my god son down in Boca Ratone.

Speaker 8 (10:29):
He's in a basketball league and I can't make a
single game and it hurts me, you know. So I
want to like hang out with the kids and my
nieces and nephew and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
So yeah, when we have.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
When we have like a summer and winter break from
the show, I do something with a kid and then
I break and y'all know, I just connect. Y'all won't
find me.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
I'm understanding me.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
I don't post nothing unless somebody hit me with something.
I am off the grid and then I come back
ready to recharge to do it all over again. So
my thing to you is, what are your summer plans?
What are your plans with kids? Camp now? Growing up,
because there was such an age difference in my family,
I was the youngest, so my older brothers my side

(11:08):
of sister was like seventeen one, there was sixteen, so
they were the camp So when my parents went to work,
we camp backyard. Soon as they left for work, y'all
getting out of the house because you're gon dirty it
up while are they at work, and we had to
play in the backyard.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
It was not fun.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
It was not fun, but we have any money to
go to camp until we snuck into that one because
they thought we lived in the hood.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Right, another story.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
All right, so I want to find out what are
you doing for the summer for yourself, for your kids.
They said a lot of people because of the economy,
aren't even taking vacation. They're not going anywhere, not even
doing a staycation. Because that's how it was growing up.
My parents weren't vacation. They just stayed home. They didn't
go anywhere. Yeah, we never had family vacation. Yeah, I
know what that was. It didn't They didn't work. So
it was like, Dad, you didn't work today. No, I'm

(11:50):
on vacation, So what are you gonna do? Y'all needs
to be cut, that needs to be fixed, that.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
I didn't think my mom really took vacation because she
was a teacher and she worked in the summers. Oh,
when she was supposed to be off, she worked. Really,
she didn't have a week here or there when school
was out, but she would work.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
So you don't never call you mom taking No, never, really,
not until she retired, like well she was working.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
No, I never I mentioned before Brown's mom went on
the cruise and got out of control, and she pulled
me to the side and said, Johnny, you gotta stop this, man.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
I can't. This is I cannot this isn't what we're about.
I can't stop it. What were you doing? Amazing? No,
it was the listeners. Listeners. Oh yeah, somebody decided to
hot wheel and forgot to put some money.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
And then climb up on a chair and then set
on someone's head.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
I was like, mom, I can try stop that. See
I want to find that my mom's last cruise. She
didn't come back with her girlfriend. And I can't imagine
if that was my mom. Yes, my mom going to
the Capitol. Yeah, going to turn around. I don't think

(13:07):
i'd be allowed to go next year session.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
In the chaplain. Let's get the chap out here on
the deck. We're gonna have a Saturday afternoon service. Hey girl,

something like that, because that YBS is free. But like
my older boys, they go to camp Mommy swim swim program.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
They come along with me and then we just get
swim all, you know, and we've never had like a
I can't you know, I can't afford like a vacation.
But my girls have been asking if we can go
on a vacation. We can go on a vacation, do
like an overnight trip at a hotel by you know,
a theme park or something like that. But but I don't. Yeah,
I don't get a Some school ends, and some lessons start,

(14:59):
and and then the school starts and do it again.

Speaker 1 (15:02):

teach this old man how to swim, she can teach anybody. Timpany.
I told him on the air when out. You said, listen, Johnny,
you're tall enough that you're pulling like that deep. If
you fall in, just pop up and reached the rail.
And you said, all right, pop up, and like, nope,
not gonna do it, Johnny, pop up.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
You know how deep your pool was because you never.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
I'm not a swimmer. What I know about the deep bend?
It looks nice. I had a lot I didn't passing.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
When I got Alex in there, he did fantastic.

Speaker 3 (15:36):

It's not something that you have to qualify for. But
I mean former MLB players that they all talk about
their summer at Cooperstown. When you're when you're twelve of you,
it's uh like the highlight.
