Speaker 1 (00:00):
At Kwiclorado dot com. He'll be on after the Rockies.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
We have the coverage show of the Royals Rockies game
coming up at five o'clock tonight.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
He'll be on after that with more insight.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Of course, we're going to be live from Broncos Park
power by Connor Spirit tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Starting three o'clock. The draft starts at six o'clock.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
We're go in of all sorts of really cool sound,
all sorts of great interviews, opportunities to check in with
the prospects as we often do, and we're obviously grateful
for those opportunities. We'll get back to the draft of
here for a second. But I really haven't had a
chance to ask you. I'll start with you, Dave first,
on this about the Nuggets and now one in one
in their series versus the Clippers. I don't know, man,
how are you feeling now that they have lost home

(00:37):
court to La Well.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
I thought the Clippers could and would win at least
a game in Denver just the way they were playing.
Kawhi is healthy. I mean, obviously game two, what are
you get? Thirty nine? The bad thing about it is
I didn't think the Nuggets played great in Game two,
and yet they're right there with a chance to win

(01:01):
it at the end, and Joki had that I mean, again,
no bigger fan than me, but he did have that turnover.
When they're down three, they don't even get a shot
up right, and then at the end of the game
they really got a horrible shot as well. So I
think the Nuggets are capable of winning a game in
La Now I think it's going to be I think

(01:23):
it's going to be uphill.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
I think there's a reason.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
I mean, the Clippers were favored in Las Vegas prior
to the start of the series, and the Nuggets had
home court. Well, now the Clippers have home court, so
you gotta expect them to be favorites in both Games
three and four. But I but I do think the
Nuggets will get one of these two games. And I
think this series more than likely comes back to Denver

(01:46):
for Game five.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Tied to two, the series is going seven.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Vince, I think you probably watching it and watching out
evening match, you know both of these teams are one
team will get up that the team always come back,
and you know, vice versa. But I just it's it's
really tough to really judge Nuggets because they're so inconsistent.
You don't know what team you're gonna get, you don't
know what you know, even the players Michael Porter Junior
just randomly just has a you know, resurgence again in

(02:13):
the middle of you know, in the middle of the game.
And and it's what the Nuggets can do and that
and that's the exciting part about the Nuggets. They can
they can be great if they choose to. And so
I think they're gonna end up splitting in La. I
think it's gonna go one in one and they're gonna split.
I just think this game is gonna this series is
going to go fully to seven and it's going to

(02:33):
one game. You know, Nuggets will win, Clippers win, the
next game Nuggets win. Is gonna go back and forth,
back and forth, and it's gonna be great for basketball
because there's some good ball going on. But the one
person that has to make better decisions is Joker has
to make better decisions, but also to many mistakes when
they need it. So the end of the game, he
almost cost them in both games. And it's free throw shooting.

(02:56):
What's going on with this? You know what I mean?
Missing free throws not being as reliable, and so in
order for them to really reach their potential, their best
player has to be the best player.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
No, I think it's gonna go seven as well.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
And it is sort of tough because you don't want
to look ahead, right, But we get to talk about
these things because Oklahoma City looks like they're just going
to handle things against badasts like that that whether they
sweep them or not, it's it's going to end relatively quick.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
This goes seven.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Whoever ends up facing Oklahoma City on the other side
of this is going to be just beaten and bruised.
Here you go, Well, no, this isn't even a negative thing.
This is just an acknowledgement. I still picked the Nuggets
to win this series, but I did say at the
beginning I thought it was going to go seven, So
I feel at least real again.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
We all said we thought it would go seven.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
I really believe whoever wins the series has a very
good chance of beating the thunder.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Really, I don't believe all.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
I don't believe that they have what it takes to
stop the Nuggets. Like with Joker inside and check lack
of body, I would say they don't really have the
people to beat.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Them, but also comes from a guy looks like you.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
So the Clipper, the Clippers have superstars, two superstars, and
right then a superstar power like that right there will
will them and crunch time because out of SGA for
the Thunders, you know, if you lock him down, who
shooting in the last shot.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
I would think that the Thunder right now would be
hoping the Clippers would beat the Nuggets because they match
up better against the Clippers, right I mean the Clippers
Kawhi can can hurt you from mid range. That the
Clippers are more with with the Beard and Kawhi, they're

(04:37):
more of a perimeter like team. That I don't think
the Thunder matches up well with the Nuggets, not at all.
So I mean Thunder will be favored in that series.
Thunder's playing great. Thunder is the number one seed. I
mean they should win with new Dort, but I think

(04:58):
they're hoping to get the Clippers okay.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Well, Also the relative health of the Nuggets.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
We don't know what mpj's deal is, if he's gonna
be able to play or not. Put Gordon Gordon. I
think it is going to be good. I mean, have
you heard anything more recently. I just know MPJ is
gonna be questionable. Pj's got the shoulder, right, yeah, left shoulder. Fortunately,
we'll see. God that was a brutal turnover for him too.
I mean, you know, I get hurt on it. Yeah,
but you get that defensive rebound. He just sort of

(05:28):
like he's got indecisive or something, and he fumbled it
and then it goes into the hands of the Clippers
and Palells sinks to three. I mean, he's a massive
sweet and then ag missing.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
A dunk, a point blake dunk.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
That right there just sucked all the energy out of
the team, out of the crowd. I'm watching it from
at home. I'm just like, oh, like, wow, was I
expecting that from one of the best dunkers in the league. Yes,
you know what I mean. And it shows that, you know,
at any time, anybody can have a mishap.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I was wild, and you brought it up to not
only Joker with the seven turnovers, the team had a
twenty turnovers. And it was amazing because the Clippers had
twenty turnovers in the first game and also a very close,
tight game at the end, so they're all going to
be like that it's as you mentioned, it's tremendous basketball.
The way the other is a fan of basketball, it
is absolutely outstanding, way more competitive than that Bucks series.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
As back in action. Gabe Landeskog, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
That's not the biggest story seriously that you can think
of recently.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Tremendous as far as the Denver sports story.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Three years, man, three years, that's I can't wait to
see it.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Not going to the game, but I mean the energy
at ball Arena tonight's gotta be like just nuts.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
There's some reports that he might be on the second line.
I'm not so you we'll see what that ends up
looking like. But man, I mean not not only coming back.
It's not like you're hiding him somewhere on the fourth
line and maybe you him out there for a few
minutes just you know, it's like, hey, you're gab Landis Gog.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
You're our captain.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
We expect you to help contribute to a win tonight,
not just be a feel good story.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
I think it's so just cool because you know, he
came back, Lonzo Ball came back. It's known that they
both had the same knee procedure, and it just shows
like the the how special modern day medicine can be Yeah,
you know, just coming back from a situation like that
where you feel like you can't even walk, you know
what I mean, you can't even load your knee up.

(07:30):
And then you know what, the advances in modern day
medicine have really you know, gotten to the point where
we've able to get too good, you know, Lonzo ball
and shout out. So it's it's really cool and it's
a great story.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
It's tremendous. Yeah, So we'll see what ultimately looks like.
Me For the ABS, we talked about the Nuggets in
last seven. For the Ads, they're also tied one one.
You knew the Dallas well, they were as desperate as
they could possibly be. They've been on a terrible slide
from the regular season into the postseason.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Took the overtime to win that game.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
I thought they let him off the hook.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
I think they did. You know, that's a great point.
I think I think they did too. I feel fine
about the Apps. Like where they're at versus in this series.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
I'm good.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
I think they're gonna win these next two games. I
think they could have.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Yeah, I think they could have won Game two as well.
And so it did, just because you know, the stars
gotta win. It did give Dallas a little bit of
juice coming in here. So yeah, but I mean that
I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Mackenzie Blackwood, right, he looks pretty good. He's incredible.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
I mean, it's one of those deals like he's he
has no playoff.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Experience, like a guy fell out of a tree, fell
into skates and pads and now he's playing great.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
He's missing all his front teeth too.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Well.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
It's amazing, isn't it crazy.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
That's like a sign of just being a dog in
hockey is when you missing all those front teeth and
it's just like they wear that so proudly.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
He did an interview with the T and T guys
and it was it was just funny, is you know,
because you're thinking, like this is a hockey guy, like
through and through, this is a hockey guy, and they're
asking him like, hey, you know, how did you you know.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Not psych yourself out.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
It's a it's a your first postseason games like it's
any other game.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Whatever.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Hockey guys just that's just their mindset is whatever we're
out there or we're skating.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
But they looked, they look really good. They're very deep.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
You know, one thing I did like about the the
win that they had they had eight different guys, eight
different forwards, all with a point in the game. So
one of the things that we've been talking about for
years now with the with the absence they won the
Cup is they're just not a very deep team, right,
they lost a lot of deeper.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Now they're way deeper. Yeah, they're way deeper now.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
So you know, they'd be nice to see Val maybe
have a night to go off, right, that would be
cool to see Nate just certainly is do a little bit.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
But yeah, Landy tonight.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Man, I don't even I don't even know how to
contextualize it because I don't think we've ever seen anything
like it.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
No, not not in this town. And I would say
this not.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
I mean, when you put it in a proper place,
one of the greatest players in franchise history, whether it's
football or hockey or basketball, what have you, suffers what
many people thought might be career in injury, battles back,
but it takes him three seasons and.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
Now he's back ready to play.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
I mean, honestly, if if you had to match up
all those points and pick another sport, and another player
another city, Denver, wherever.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Who would it be.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
I can't think of one that level.

Speaker 5 (10:30):
I guess not to that level three years. Yeah, I
would say maybe that Vaughn when Vin was out for
a year, you know, with Michael injury, but for three years,
and I'm just interested to see how he's going to skate.
But I was going to play, Like how how will
he look compared to old you know, the you know
the NFL as well as I do. If Vaughn missed

(10:52):
that full year and then couldn't play the next year,
even if Vaughn is Vaughn Hall of Fame player, I
think Vond's going to be doing something else well. Also,
that's the one thing about hockey, baseball, Basketball is fully
guaranteed contract. You like, you have to work with your player.

(11:12):
You're paying him regardless, so it actually, you know, it's
a better investment for you to try to help him
figure it out than to just move on. And that's
where the difference is between all these sports and football, because,
like you said, if in football, if a injury like
this would happen in Lonzo Ball, in football, Lonzo Ball
would be at home with no paycheck coming in. You

(11:33):
know what I mean. But that's the difference is if
you get hurt, even if you get hurt playing in
the game, you don't really have the protection. You know,
that's your contract.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Yeah, I think the combination of him still being here
due to your point, like in not not only coming
back but still being an.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Alf and also having to deal mentally, yes, with that
every day, right. I mean, I don't know about Shelby.
I've never I mean I've missed a season, not in
the NFL, but in college. I mean, you just you can't.
You can't. We're not part of it. You can't wait
to get healthy. You wonder if you're ever going to
be the same. It's just mentally it is. It is

(12:09):
a grind, and this guy's been dealing with this for
three years.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
It's incredible.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
The hour Roman Marquez on the hill taking on the
Kansas City Royals tough luck loss last night. They battle back,
score three runs in the ninth and end up losing
an eleven.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
But you know that's the thing about baseball.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Get a chance to sort of get right back at
it the very next day, and hopefully the Rockies can
get this one, and if they get this one in
the one tomorrow they'll be the first series win of
the season.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
I'm an eternal optimis as you know, Dave, ok.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
No, I'm what do you say, right, what do you say?
We carry the games? We all want the Rockies to
to do well or do better. They haven't. You look
look at them hitting the ball or lack thereof. I mean,
Ryan McMahon is one of their better players is hitting
under two hundred. I think they have two players. Ben

(13:07):
was looking at that weird when he was doing his
segment earlier. They got they've got two guys hitting above
two fifty. Yeah, right, you can't. You can't win him
that they've had. They've had decent enough pitching by Colorado
standards to certainly.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Win more than four games. And that's what they won
four in a team.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Yeah, Hunter Goodman's hitting two thirty five, Kyle Farmers at
two eighty four.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Tovars on il but he's two twelve, Moniac.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
I guess two hundred.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Yeah, McMahon is one. It's not good enough. That's good.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
No, it's not good enough. But also it's just man,
the city needs them to do better. I'm telling you,
and I've and this is one of the ways that
I fell in love with the city and just being
around because my first year here in twenty seventeen, uh,
the Rockies went to their playoffs and a lost their
Brewers don't forget and so you are no, but I

(14:07):
just remember because we forget.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Where you live.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Thank you, Dave. You know need to be said.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Milwaukee, Denver. I'll say both of us, no, but I'll
just remember the Eagles. I've been we were playing the
Eagles and my flight was like delayed. I know I'll
remember we're playing the Eagles. When that game, I'm like,
all right, I need the Rockies to win one game
so that I can watch the Brewers and they got
swept or whatever. But I just know that I remember
the city just being so vibrant. So the city's not

(14:35):
the same when the Rockies aren't doing good. And the
same with the Broncos. Always say, you know, the cities
is not the same when the team's not doing good.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
That is exactly right.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
So again, as an optimist, open the Rockies can not
only get this one and I get the one tomorrow. Again,
it's a twelve to ten first pitch, I think tomorrow,
so we'll be on shortly after that. Live from a
Broncos Park, power by common spirit for the NFL Draft.
So the Broncos they have their first rounder, they have second, third, fourth,
and then three sixth rounders, so plenty of opportunity to
do some damage for tomorrow night at pick twenty. I

(15:05):
don't know, Dave, all the rumors and reports today that
it's gonna be, it's so up in the air. And
I think it's so in the air for a most
two reasons because we just don't We just don't know
a lot about where these teams are at as far
as are we going to see a lot of trades.
There are some people out there reporting we're going to
see a ton of trades, and there's some saying that
there's not a lot of interest. Most teams are just

(15:26):
gonna stand Pat, I don't know, do you what do
you feel like? You know, as we're about twenty four
hours away from.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
The draft, man, you can put what I know in
a thimble. That's fair, and you know what, All.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Due respect to everybody reporting all these things, listen, most
of it is conjecture or.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
Sort of a smart way.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Of connecting dots and saying, Okay, maybe they're going to
do this because they're most NFL teams operate, maybe not
to this level, but they operate like the Broncos deuce
that Sean Payton got here. They they either put false
information out trying to mislead people like us and other teams,

(16:08):
or they say nothing and and with the fear of
the Good Lord in them, they're not They're not supposed
to talk about it. So I do think just because
it's the nature of the draft, I think they'll more
than likely in the first round tomorrow be a couple
of traits I think teams will.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
I think there's a chance that.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
We see a big move uh and again connecting the dots,
a big move by a team up. And I think
there may be one or two teams that actually in
that first round move back and try to pick up
multiple picks. That would be my educated guess.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
The draft is it's a different you know, entity and
a different being by once one little domino falls the
wrong way, or it's not like something changes, like like
we said before, if at five ash Gent still is there,
you will see some trades happen, like if Tyler warrens

(17:06):
at eleven, you will see some trades happen like it's
certain players that if they do slide, then you will
see the trades happening and you won't really know until tomorrow.
Like obviously we can guess all we want to, and
you know Ben, you know Ben's gonna say, I'm always
usually right. I'm always usually right on my my mock drafts.

(17:27):
But I'll tell you this, if if if the Browns
try to trade out of two, you don't think teams
are gonna are gonna jump for Travis Hunter.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
I'm just saying.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
So that's the thing though, It's like it's gonna take
a little cause and reaction to in order for these
trades to happen. But they will happen because I don't
see the Browns trading out of ten. I was just
don't want to hypothetical. I don't see them trade down
to two. No, well, I understand that for something like
a trade that happened, since we're not hearing much about it,
it's pretty much one of these players that are very

(17:59):
well liked suddenly just starts falling a couple of picks,
and then you want to see teams trying to really
sell the farm in order to move up.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Well, it feels like and again, this is my perspective
on it, and maybe just a little bit of what
I've been reading is it feels like maybe there's three players.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
We'll just exclude cam Ward for a.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Second, because he's going number one overall, between Ashton and Janny,
Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter, so kind of the three
premier players of this track, I would agree, And so
I can't blame teams, especially if you're in the side
of the top ten, because most of the time, if
you're inside the top ten, you're thinking you're getting a
blue chip player, somebody that could be maybe a face
of the franchise, like the Broncos. A pick nine getting

(18:37):
Pats or ten for example, like that is that is
exactly the kind of player that you're hoping. If you
had a bad season last year, the twenty twenty four season,
and you're drafting in twenty twenty five and you're in
the top ten, you're thinking, boy, well it was a
bad season, but at least we're gonna get that guy.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
At least we're going to be ranged to get one
of those guys.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
But the fact is, if you're a number picking ten,
like the Chicago Bears, that's not what you were looking at.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
But that, to me, that's a little bit of a
revisionist history.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
Look, because we were were we were you and I.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Doing the show, were there was screwed it up and start, Yeah,
part of even our show at that point, and certainly
from fans that we heard it was a mixed reaction
on patser Tan. There were plenty of people that said,
why not justin Fields? Right, So the reality is the
pick looks pretty damn good now because you've got an

(19:29):
all world corner on a brand new contract and he's
not even he's not even at the height of his
career yet.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
That's how so it worked out.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
But I you know the three guys you mentioned, I
think those three guys are going to go. I think
Carter and Hunter go before genty. And I think both
of those guys, Hunter and Carter in what order. I'm

(20:00):
I'm not sure go two three.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Right.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
So, the the genty pick, as as we were talking about,
right as Shelby was mentioned a little bit earlier, that
that pick becomes interesting at that point if he's if
he's there at four or five, maybe he drops, maybe
he doesn't get picked at four, And now of a
sudden it's like, oh oh, and and Shelby's right. That's
where teams starts saying, okay, call them and let's see

(20:26):
would they entertain this, this, this, and this.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
He also look at this Patriots team. They've been linked
to Will Carabell this whole time. They might be the
ones that might drop out, maybe drop two picks, you know,
not the Raiders who have been linked to gent for
a while, but now everyone's saying they can't get them. Well,
it won't hurt the Patriots to drop two picks to pick.

Speaker 4 (20:47):
Ah alignment, right. So if.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
So, that's the thing that Raiders are actually the team
I mean like that you really want to watch, but
the Patriots are a team you want to watch. When
shot the four, if it plays out how Ben has
with Camo, we're going first, Travis Hunter and going second,
or Abdul Carter going third, that's the spot. Technically, I
feel like if it can't be too far, the teams
can't be too deep in the first round. But I

(21:14):
would saying pretty much from eight on you can see
the Panthers, the Jets, the Raiders all try to trade
up to try to jump to Jacks in order to
get gmpty but that's just you know, if we're just
talking hypothetically, well, of coursehould happen.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Yeah, you know what I mean, because because he represents
a tier of a player that you're not going to
find anywhere else. Like as much as we like this
running back class ashen, he's clearly.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
The best back in the class by.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Quite a bit, right, So that would be why you'd
sort of jockey for position, which makes it difficult for
me to imagine him slipping, you know, the whole conversation
of the slide there.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
It's just it's hard to imagine because either as would.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Have been have picking genty Jackson five.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
And that's why I'm saying that the team of may
be trying to jump them and go to the Patriots,
because the Patriots are going to go you know, running
back at six, you know what I mean. So the
Raiders didn't jump and try to get gent at four
instead of letting the Jags meet them becau Obviously, if
that's what the Jags wann't get, they feel pretty good
about that. Other than the New England Patriots because everybody

(22:19):
else is kind of locked into what they need. The
Patriots are the one team that uh we could pick here,
we could pick at six, we could pick it eight.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
We're taking a tackle.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
That is a big observation from this class. Specifically, there's
the expectation of a lot of offensive linemen in this
first round, which you could be good news for the Broncos,
but a lot of offensive linemens. So it's like one
of those, well, maybe we don't have the elite tier
players here, but we can take an O line, we
can take a D line, and we can feel pretty
good about adding to our depth and just bringing some

(22:53):
developmental players.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
I think a move like that would only make sense
for the Broncos if they rank the depths of the
running back class good enough that one of the guys
they really value they're assuredly going to be there in
the second round, right, then you can afford if you

(23:14):
find alignment that you want, because they have to address
the running back room, I think, and you know, I
haven't seen their board obviously, so I don't know if
they are as love as much as some of these
draft prognosticators are with the depth of the running back class.

(23:36):
It looks like it's a pretty damn good class, and
maybe they've got again two or three guys that they say,
you know what, we're fairly certain they're going to be
there when we pick in the second round.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
I think they are.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I mean, and that's always the case, right, we always
get to day two, we're like, I cannot believe.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
That Henderson a notch above those two or three other guys.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
And once again like for this entire pre draft process,
we've had chance at one in his own tier or
and then most people have thought is Omari and Hanson
is number two. But that speculation, yeah, I've seen plenty
of people out there that think Trevion Henderson deserves to
be in that conversation as the second best back. So
in that case that the Broncos are looking at it
a pick twenty, that may be one of the reasons
why they just go ahead and pull the trigger and

(24:15):
do it.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Then, to Ben's credit.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Here he has Shadoor Sanders going twenty one to Pittsburgh,
which again makes it an ideal spots makes sense if
you're say the Browns who just drafted Travis Hunter and
want to trade up and get Shador, you can probably
talk to the Broncos at twenty.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
The Giants also have done a lot of work on
Shador Sanders.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
So that's what I'm saying. So if you look at
the you know, at the draft, at the draft order,
there are a lot of possibilities and a lot of
spots for trades, and there's a lot of options, and
I just it's not that many people. And we've heard
this a lot about about this draft class, about how
it all there's not much blue chip talent in this

(24:56):
draft class.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
It's not as deep as not.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
As deep like pretty much the guys from the mid
first to the to the third fourth round. You can
get all like quality players at different positions, and that's
what makes the draft great. You know, the one year
is gonna be good, one year's gonna be bad. I
just think it's gonna be interesting because, you know, just
looking off for Ben's saying, I just have an issue

(25:22):
seeing some of these guys getting drafted as high as
they are, and I think you're going to see some
of these guys drop and I.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Think somebody's picked.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Yeah, and everybody every.

Speaker 5 (25:30):
Year though I always say this every year though, there's
always the surprise pick Clinton.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Farrell clin Fair, Oh my god, that's a name.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
Right, like the seventh pick in the draft.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
I thought it was like fourth hol on fourththall, but
it was fourth that was it is the top ten.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Yeah, hold on, I'll tell you, but I remember that one. Yeah,
fourth overall pick twenty nineteen.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Like wait what, but you're just draft in that way
to your point.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
This one sets up perfect for stuff like that, where
we have this consensus conversation about what we think are
the talented players. I mean, you and I have been
talking about the D line every single time you're in here.
We're talking about these defensive linemen.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
And you're like, I don't like that guy.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
I don't like that gu I don't like I'm like, well,
I like that guy, but I don't love that guy.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
And I do think that there's gonna be a little
bit of this.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Draft is gonna be like, well, you know what, I think,
Maybe not Mason gret Let's just say like Walter Nolan
or something along or Kenneth Grant.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Karen's Caves an even better example.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Kenneth Grant has been mocked in the first round pretty
much every single monk, but he's like in the twenties, right,
there might be a defensive lineman that we have like
penciled in as a third rounder that somebody says, I
don't know. I think they're about the same. I don't
see much of a difference here, and I have to
make a.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
Pick that that's we all know. That's how the draft
works exactly, Manette. We had talked last week about the
interesting thing. If you, I mean, if you take five
veteran scouts from around the league, five guys that have
been doing it for a long time and they've been
successful at it, you give them ten films to watch

(27:08):
of one player. Now, they may agree on certain things,
but I promise you one of those five is going
to see something that he doesn't like that the other
four sort of look at him, maybe feel like they
can bypass. What matters to this guy because he's been

(27:29):
with that team for a long time. Is they like
their you know, if it's an offensive lineman like him
to be a little bit quicker, they can be able
to pull this guy maybe is more of a mall
or he's bigger, and so they Every scout has a
predisposition built in based on where he's scouted and who
he has scouted, four on how he views film. That's

(27:52):
one of the biggest reasons why the draft is such
a crapshoot because you have thirty two teams, all of
which have diverse scout scouting departments that just look at
things differently.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
Man, I just if you look at this draft, I
just wouldn't be surprised if a team tries to drop
out of the first round and tries to get get
a second year. I just think it just makes more
sense because you know, like you said, though, are you
gonna go with a first round pick that you necessarily
don't love or would you rather trade and try to

(28:27):
get a too and have a second first.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
Round pick for next year?

Speaker 1 (28:32):
Exactly?

Speaker 5 (28:32):
So I think, well, I think you will see that maybe,
and it just depends where in the draft, but you
will see them. And I think a team will end
up being like, you know what, we're going on the
first round. We can get all the players we need
from second to fourth.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Okay, again, the Lebroncos, that's amazing. That would be.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Amazing if your Cleveland Browns would give them a call
when they're on the clock at twenty and move up
out of Day two to take shore standers. Thrilled, let's
do that. Like you're sitting here, you could be the
kind of the go between all this.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
I don't want to be They're not doing that.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
What I'm just saying, you have connections.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
You know, why do you want to Browns to take Shadur? Yeah,
he's just why are you putting nothing?

Speaker 1 (29:15):
It's Shador and Travis. Wouldn't that be fun for the league?

Speaker 4 (29:19):
For the league? I don't care, Thank you say.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
My intrigue of seeing Shador and Travis day together.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
You're you're in, You're the lead. We should worry about
You're intrigue.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Are you saying you're not interested in something like that
as a former Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
I mean, I really don't care. They had a good
connection to see you. I want to see Travis Dewey's thing.
I want to see Sho do his thing. But I
don't They don't have to be in the same team.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
No, not at all.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
Actually, I think it would actually be cool for them
to go against each other. I think that's what more
people want to see, Travis playing dB and Shador throwing
them a pick.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
He's gonna be a wide receiver.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Well do you know he claims he wants to do both.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
You think that.

Speaker 5 (29:58):
My daughter says she wants to be an astronaut. I
believe her.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
You don't what are you gonna tell your daughter at
this age, Like, don't even try.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
That's what you try.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Nobody before.

Speaker 5 (30:11):
That's what you're telling is when did we start? When
do we start telling our kids?

Speaker 4 (30:15):
You're saying you don't think Travis will get any snaps.
On the other side, you will.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
You won't be full time. You won't be full time
both ways.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
You won't be full time in one way.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
That's like saying, you know what, tomorrow, the sun's gonna
shine at least for thirty minutes.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
I mean that's big. If true, that's yeah true. Way
to go out in a limb
