Speaker 1 (00:00):
Like pretty challenging circumstances tonight, but also probably a lot
to like where do you fall in terms of the
emotion of tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Well, obviously we're disappointed we didn't we didn't get the result.
But I thought, you know, I thought we competed hard
all night long, and you know, for long stretches of
the game, I thought we controlled the game, We controlled territory.
We had a significant amount of offensive zone time. You know,
I think in the first the first two periods in particular,
I thought Philly pushed back in the third, but in

(00:28):
the first two periods, you know, I thought we we
had a significant amount of zone time, offensive zone time.
Sometimes when that happens, it gets good to you a
little bit, and you don't have you know, you you
don't have the same diligence or the same conscience. Defensively,
I thought some of the chances that we gave up,
although they weren't that many in the in the first

(00:49):
couple of periods, they were high quality looks, breakaways, those
types of things where you know, we just didn't manage
the puck where you know, we're trying to force plays
to the slot. We start the breakouts, the bat the
blind back diagonals, which for me is a recipe, it
is not a recipe for success. So but our compete

(01:10):
level I thought was was terrific all night long. These
guys are battling hard.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Did did your team over these past five games show
you something as head coach? Show you as management?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I mean I'm proud of these guys. You know, like
they're we're playing hard. I mean, let's let's just state
the obvious. We're a little under manned lately. And uh
and these guys are you know, they're they're stepping up.
You know, they're stepping up. They're playing hard. We're competing.
It's not perfect. We're you know, we're gonna make some
mistakes out there. It's a game of mistakes, but you
know most of them are mistakes of enthusiasm and we'll

(01:42):
we'll live with those, will work through them. You know,
we're we're competing hard. I I just think I think
we got a good group. I think we have h
we have good people. You know, these g these guys
are high character guys. They care an awful lot about
winning and and trying to play the game the right way.
And you know they're tensions are in the right spot.
You know, it's it's a hard league. It's not easy

(02:03):
to win, and I think these guys are competing hard.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Carl.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
Another result wasn't there tonight, But are you guys, I
guess proud of the way you battled without said, without Gino,
without Rusty. I mean, that's not an easy task for
for this team here.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
No.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah, I think we played well today. I think we
played really well yesterday as well. You know, obviously on
the back to back today, but it felt like, guys,
you know, we were into it and and I think,
you know, for the better part of this game, you know,
except for scoring goals, we played really good. And again
I think we played with some passion and we had

(02:38):
great effort, and you know, when we made mistakes, everybody
was there to back you up. And you know, we
worked hard for each other. And you know, I think, uh,
you know, we felt good about our game today, even
though the result wasn't, you know, exactly what we wanted.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
It wasn't like to see Racks get in a on
his jersey. With the season he's kind of having to
sort of get I mean, you don't want it to
be because of injuries, but just you know, it's sort
of a reward for the way he's he's played this year.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
I mean, he's obviously had a great season for us.
He's a very vocal guy for us, and you know,
he gets guys going and you know he's out there.
So again, I think, you know, I think he's one
of those guys that you know, his his effort and
and you know, obviously his his play on on the
ice this year has spoken for himself and he's one
of those guys that that leads by a quiet example,

(03:24):
and you know, it's obviously nice to see that. You know,
he's getting that recognition and you know, I know, on
a team like this and in this organization, you know,
for a lot of people that is that is very
very big moment, and you know it's very hard to
come by with with the guys that they have here.
So you know, it's well deserved on his part.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
I thus last one the sun, which means you had
your dad here for these couple of games, which he
said it was his eighteen during thing, he's gone to.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
Ye that you can play.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Yeah, he's been around now for for quite a while.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
You know.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Unfortunately he lives a little bit too far away, so
he hasn't been able to come, you know, on a
zone throughout the years. But you know, he's made pretty
much every father's trip, and you know, this year he
got lucky that it was in two rinks that he
hasn't been to, so he was very excited about that.
So I think it was seventeen eighteen for him now,
you know, and again only pretty much on father's trip.

(04:17):
So that's that's pretty good on his part and hopefully
we can get him to thirty two eventually.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
Tonight is it one of the nice you battle, just
couldn't find a way, like, how would you sort of
assess assessment?

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Not the result we wanted. I think we dominated at
the beginning.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
They had one scoring chance in the first it was
a breakaway that we gave up.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
They scored. We gave up too many admate Russia, and
I think.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
We were we were kind of dominating the ozone, generating
good opportunities, and then a couple of breakdowns here and
there led to their great a looks and then it
kind of takes momentum away. But I thought overall we
didn't come away with any points. That's sort of that's
the main goal.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Every night.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
But I thought everyone stepped up, worked hard. I thought
we had a lot of looks.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
You have a score that second goal. I was standing there.
I could see the puck the whole time.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
I was, uh, kind of shocked the waves it off,
but I mean not everyone had my view.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
I could see the puck the whole time time.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
So I was nervous that we weren't going to be
able to challenge it. Uh and then uh, when we
challenge it, I felt pretty good that I was gonna
be a goal.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Good. Thanks for you that aquest?

Speaker 7 (05:38):
All right, easy.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
I won't ask you about the goal from halfaway there?
Did you kind of hesitate there getting out there?

Speaker 2 (05:49):
No?

Speaker 7 (05:49):
We was gone to a fifth to fifty situation, like
if it's like I.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Should go out or should know?

Speaker 7 (05:57):
And I chose to go out and he was kind
of close to me so there was no hard to
to shoot around them. So I touched touched the guy there.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
But that was a time just get it to center.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yeah, it's been a little while since you've you've had
a start.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
How'd you feel tonight? Yeah? Pretty good?

Speaker 7 (06:15):
Uh uh first, a little bit nervous, but that's I
mean pretty normal. But yeah, it's the game went on
better and better.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
Yeah, what does it helping you go in apartments like that?

Speaker 7 (06:26):
You just kind of home. Yeah, I mean he's awesome.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
Yes, a lots of experience on this league, so yeah,
it's it's nice to have a guy guy like him
with me here. So yeah, l lots to learn from him, Like, uh,
the the one gold discoverment you came out of the
neck you kind of take as through.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Your throt horcess is how you wanted to challenge on
that play, the hold.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
It how you went it.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
Yeah, it was kind of fifty to fifty buck if
if I should go out or no, and I chose
to go out, and and uh, yeah, they were pretty
close to me there, so it was hard to get
the pack around them
