Guz for its the Top four for It's the four
Bay stories in the world of sports, come on the back.
You got this, Mohawks chevro Lire, they go those Oha
Tana don't. I'm like, I'm like Judge in the field.
I'm like Cole misreading the shot. It's the Top four.
(00:24):
It's probably by Mohok Honda where they always go by
the way to please you. It's war stories. Gosh, you
go ahead, and if it's the World Series, tell me.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
I'll find something to get you excited.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
How about some action on the ice tonight? Some Halloween action?
Oilers Predators on a ESPN plus in Hulu?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Is it the real predators like the ones that fought Schwartzeneger.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
How about Bruins Hurricanes Hurricanes? Could you always like to
see good Boston team get beat? Maybe the Hurricanes can
take them down tonight. The Ducks and the Penguins, all right,
Flyers and Blues, maybe make Philly fans suffer?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Do you know that it takes over two hours to
put on the Penguin make up for Colin Farrell East
be four hours. I did not know that. How about
this one?
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Lavak's some action at the Scotia Bank of Rina tonight.
That's out in Toronto, as the Toronto may Be Leefs host.
One of your favorite NHL franchise is this Seattle cracking?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Dude? Well? Does Phil travel? Phil? Who Pilma Pilma Cracken?
Does he travel mascot? Thank you?
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I knew i'd get you to smile. There you go.
I just had to set myself up for a Phil
McCracken show.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Oh my god, I feel I keep forgeting to tell
you I feel targeted. Remind me at the end of
this to tell you you feel targeted. I feel Ryan
Fitzpatrick just hit me where you want you want to
hear real quick. I think I know what you're talking. Yeah,
go ahead. So they posted about Belichick's girlfriend justin the
Giants gear, which whatever, Ryan Fitzpatrick For all you forty
eight year old, hopeless romantics out there, just think your
(01:58):
future person may not even be born. Ow? What did
I do? OW? I'm just here being forty eighth fat
and old man. Do you have his Twitter up right there? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I get okay, hold it up for me.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
First thing, because, first of all that joke is too
out back, that's a too spot on fim right, Well
you have to agree that strongly. That's not better.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Well he's got that. And then his son, I believe
his named Brady Fitzpatrick, who went viral a few years
ago when he was doing those stats in that textan interview.
He's got a picture with his son. I think he
just recently posted. His son I think is six '
eight and he's like, thirteen, is it up there? He's like,
if you want to feel old, look at this pack,
and I think he's squatting down Ryan Fitzpagger, Oh yeah,
(02:43):
we maybe just like that at d Jeff. How big
do you think that kid is?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Right there?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Is he a legit? Six seven six eight? At least
the viewing of that picture.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Yeah, so was not hopeless romantic.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Ryan Fitzpadick is ripping apart, forty eight year old hopeless romantics.
He's hosting that one of his seven kids might already
go play tight end at Harvard and he's thirteen. And
I also believe he started a fight and threw a
straight at Ryan Talbot, a former guest on this show
who covers the bills for Syracuse Dot com at Upstate
New York dot com because Talbot's like, it's a great
(03:15):
move to bet Anthony Richardson. Mana just tweeting about Anthony
Richardson and Ryan Fitzpatrick wants to start arguing with you
for no reason other than your a blue check mark.
So Fitzi's been wild on.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Social media last week. My herd hurts by heart.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Let's move on to story number three. NBA action tonight
on Halloween includes Bucks, Grizzlies, Rockets, Mavericks, Spurs, Jazz and Sons,
and the Clippers that Steve Balmer continues to be one
of the most energetic athletic owners of Gosh, governors, what
do we have to call NBA people now? Governors?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Right? I think? So it's their team owners. I think
if you say, as long as same with team first,
Like I love that. Such a sensitive society right now
that we think like I literally say my owners all
the time when I talk about you know, Mike, Andy
and Richie, the three owners of the Firebirds, And never
once did anybody go, oh, you're owned vice by other people?
(04:13):
Oh great, No, it's the team owners that I work for.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
I caught myself to like athletic owners, like, I don't
have to do that. We all get there.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
No, we don't. I'm ana supporder.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Did any one of those four games Jazz, Spurs, Suns, Clippers, Rockets,
Mavericks or Bucks Grizzlies catch your interest?
Speaker 2 (04:32):
No?
Speaker 1 (04:33):
No, still said, Okay, well move on a story number two.
They didn't catch mine either. I'm four and oh. In
the NBA, I got more of that coming up, by
the way, and play the day. I got some big
stuff coming up, and play the day.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
While in the NBA Levec there's already news involving Juan
Soto recording to Juan Soto here in story number two,
he's gonna hear from every team. You know, I don't
want to. I don't want to do this right, we
have to do that. I'm not that's more than already.
Let's do that next. I need to because I need to, like,
(05:05):
I need to compartmentalize it so I can talk about it.
I need to decide what it really means. I'm rocking.
I'm in here rocking. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
No, yeah, let's I see that. But you know what,
I enjoy this challenge today because I know your favorite
team has lost the World Series. But my goal is
to help you continue to give takes about New York
sports and feel better. Help me, please, Let's move on
a story about jamming.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Out in the truck on the way here. It was awesome.
People were driving like idiots. Though it's so bad. I
had alien ant farms cover of an are you okay
with Criminals? One? I had? Uh. I was listening It's
just metal. It was just like rock and metal all
the way over.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
I'm not a country music fan, but I find myself
listening to more Jordan Davis.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
You know who that is? Yeah, I like him. Well,
you don't really have a choice, you so you gotta
listen to the good stuff clean.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
I like Jordan Davis's beard. I feel like you've got
a good, tight beard. I like your beard. I thought
about shaving it today.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
No, I was talking about Jordan. We'll move on to
story number one. It's Thursday night football action here on Halloween.
New York Jets. Take it that there's anything wrong with that.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
The New York Jets take on the Houston Texans tonight.
Our coverage here for Jets football gets underweight six thirty tonight.
I love this game, Jets, Texans.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
You love this game. I love this.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
You know, I don't know if I did a great
job here in the top four four. I feel like
a lot of these stories are all segments alone.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
But we'll do that. How about that, We'll just do that. Well,
I just let me just tell you. I think it's
gonna be a fun game. I think for for a night
when you're you know, you get home from the trick
and the treating, and you know, you go through you
make sure the kid's candy is safe. Now it's your time,
pop cold one, maybe pour something nice by the way. Uh,
I know that dude from New Scotland was in here earlier.
(06:59):
My bottle of New Scotland Winter Winter Week is is MTMS.
But out there that was the yegg's fault.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, whoa, let's go back. He was here earlier, Jesse. Yeah,
you didn't leave anything for us. We were drinking of
stuff yesterday.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
I emptied another. Well, I have probably bought more bottles
of New Scotland Bourbon than anyone everyone in this building combined,
because they were Scottish games and I'm drunking, I buy
a bunch of.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
But I believe they sort of advertise on the station
as well.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Kind of well, I don't care if the advertising not.
I need another bottle. I like drinking local makes.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Me take that up with Danielle in our sales department.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Danielle called me, she's not happy if you by the way, Oh,
she calls you for help recording something. You you brush
her off, So she's I should just called you from
the beginning, And I said, you're right, Yeah, I'm all
over the place right now. I don't know if you
noticed that. I didn't do it. By the way, I
never called her back.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Not only did she recorded, she sent it to me,
and I said, that's not.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Great, not great if it's what I think it is.
I didn't really understand that anyway. I think she's a sweet,
sweet girl. But I don't know if the voice works
for what you're about. What you're trying to know? What didn't? Yeah?
What else were you doing? Where are we? Jets? Are good?
Good game tonight? That Papa Beer asked the pizza, you
did it good? Steal some of the kids candy, not
(08:15):
like that. Evil Jimmy Kimmel says, don't hide all of it.
It's maybe you know, and I think it's I think
it's gonna be a really good game. Especially if you're
a jetsman.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
That was my best effort to get through a top
four to four today with you I number two after
a tough day for you. We will talk about WANs
to coming up here in about one five minutes. I
have I have I need your advice.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
I wrote that Pat and Penny need.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Your advice on how to handle one of these. We
will talk more Jets, what a certain investment that I've
placed that I feel very good about, and what I
should do with that investment. Also, by the way, come
up with the show. I'm not sure if we mentioned
this yet today. How about former NFL player, former Buffalo
Bill Shawan Merriman scheduled to join us in the third hour.
I love that he frightens me.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
He's cares me, but like that intensity that dude always had,
Like even though it's crushing my players. Yeah, yeah, you
were way to keep cheering me up. You he here's
something about him you still had to watch, Like every
one of his tackles was a car crash. I'm gonna ask.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Him if he thinks he could still play, not like physically,
like could you actually go out and play? I'm like,
do you think your style could actually work in the NFL,
because I'll tell him the answers. No, no, I could not.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
You're not gonna tell him anything. You just shut your
mouth when you're talking to him.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
It's your top four to four I thought I did.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Okay, Yeah, I mean listen, it's just I appreciate the effort.
Just you're just not good at it. You know, it's
good at getting you where you need to go. I
don't know that a transition cd t A. I was
over here. I took my own advice today, guys. I
went to c dt A dot org and I learned
about the bus Rapid Transit one Rapid Innovative System BUST plus.
(09:56):
They got the purple, red and blue lines. The busses
are the color of the line you If you get
lost when the bus is the color of the line
you're supposed to be on, that's a you problem. Okay,
it's not any problem. And when the navigator's even easier
to keep track of where you're going, how you're gonna
get there. It's just a great, great app We got
the website. Uh season eight of the CDPHP cycles driven
(10:20):
by cdt A, More locations, more bikes, more adventures, Flex
plus schedule, get those flex rides going. CDTA has come
up with all these different ways to get you where
you need to be. So go to CDTA dot org,
Go grab the navigator app today, get connected with CDT
A listen, I'm hoping the CCA and give me or
A one Sodo's house so I can beg them to stay.
(10:43):
Let's let's talk. Let's do this, rip the band it off,
Let's talk Sodo next right here, Fox Sports Radio ninety
five nine and nine.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Eighty it's levakan Guz on ninety five nine Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Allow everybody line in the GT toys, the studios, toys
with a Z. Surviving, my friends, surviving. People are asking
me questions that don't don't quite make sense to me. Sorry,
just looked over your social media. It's been a tough
couple of hours. I haven't I'm not loving the world
(11:22):
at the moment. Yeah, so we uh we we saw
we we we saw what happened and what what hurt
the most?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
What the boss it's being suck. I didn't have to
Rascal flats up. That was at them a right pretty good.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
There was a lot more flat than Rascal. The like
the false hope, the false hope is what sucks. So
like last night and we mentioned they went up and
they looked good, and they look you know, Judge finally
gets a hit and and everything everything kind of goes south.
Maybe what hurt almost as bad was Juan Soto directly
(12:04):
after the game being asked about like, hey, you know
our your teammates are asking to sday whatever. He's like, yeah,
I'm a free agent. What about the Mets? No, all
thirty teams can get it, Like all all thirty teams
are event on the table.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Let me pause it right there, because we are media
members and not just media members. You also are a
team president for the Albany Firewards, so you have an
interesting perspective offer on both sides of this because you've
done both your entire career now in adult life. I'm
so bothered by that. I get they have jobs. I
get it.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Reporters hosts opinion is every anchors the guy just lost
the World Series. Him and his teammates have.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Just suffered what they would consider in their professional baseball
career is the worst loss in their career. They didn't
win the championship. The dudes probably talked to nobody besides
teammates and mere what minutes less than hours after Dude
sticking to Mike in his face and saying, are you
gonna come back next season? He doesn't know, he doesn't know,
(13:13):
he doesn't know. He's probably not.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
The I mean, did he have to go out there
and say, you know, everybody can get it. I'm leaving
like did he have to? Like?
Speaker 1 (13:28):
That would be like somebody getting divorced Levak and the
minute they walked out of the divorce court be like,
are you gonna get remarried? Will you get remarried? Just
got a car accident, you walk out of your car.
Will you ever drive a car again? That that's not
too far off from those two comparisons.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
I think. I think what bothers me is is you
pretending that you wouldn't have asked that question? I think
you have to ask a question is insensitive? Yes? Does
somebody have to ask it? Yes? Somebody has to ask it.
Does somebody have to ask? If? If, then that's sure
you probably cover the Mets beat. What bothers me is
(14:05):
and again, this is we're talking about Dude's twenty six.
It's a little different. You couldn't go, hey man, we
just lost the World Series. Can I have some time?
Like you couldn't do that. You had to be like yo, boys,
who wants some soda like you like like all thirty teams.
Ye boy is on the market like you couldn't have
(14:25):
like like to your to your analogy, you guys, wife
walked out of divorce court. When I took the house,
I took the car. I love him, have the kids.
Who wants to get freaky? Everybody's available, Like that's what
it feels like. It's hot Sodo.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
It's way different than Kelsey at the Super Bowl being
asked if he's gonna retire because that had been a
rumor he might retire. That's a little different and he
reads up in his coat. Those are different comparisons. This
isn't Jim Gray going at the Late Pete Rose asking
are you ever going to a apologize or admit you
bet on baseball? That probably was the wrong scenario to
do that too. Even though I kind of like Jim
(15:05):
Gray the conversation we've had in the past, do we
really have to ask him like did he did any
human being think soda was going to decide in that moment?
Or was it just for the click or was it
what you just said. They're like, hey, SODA's immature enough,
He's gonna say something stupid and that's all they want
out of that or the wrong thing out of that.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Well, no, like they had, like you said, they have
to ask again. They like they had, they have to
and if he is just great whatever again? Uh, I
don't I don't even know if I if I'm entitled
to have an issue, but like my issue is, don't
(15:46):
say yes, don't say anything yet. Hey, while your ex
wife is walking out a divorce court and someone walks
up and goes, hey, are you single? How about a
little hey? He's right, the little respect, little respect, because
this is like it was treated great. Thirty one million
(16:07):
dollars year of baseball, you know, five five deep into
the World Series? How bad we live? There's no have
you even disrespected by the Yankees? Hey, I've been waiting
for the Yanks make me an offer and they won't
make me an offer. So I'm ready to go anywhere. Okay, cool, No,
(16:27):
it's hey, I'm a free agent. Everybody's in Like, dude,
I don't need to hear that right now. Like I'm
I'm already on. I'm already on the struggle bus. I'm
gonna make Yankee fan feel a little bit better. I
really feel like this is potentially how Yankee fan can feel.
I don't know if the World Series played a factor
in Soto's decision. I really don't.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
The athlete that keeps popping up to me when I
think about how a season finished and whether or not
that played a decision final say on where they were
gonna go is Johnny Damon. But I'm about a year
off on Johnny Damon. Johnny Damon the Red Sox one
and OH four. He left the Red Sox and O
five and joined the Yankees when he hit free agency.
(17:10):
But the Yankees would go on to win a World
Series in two thousand and nine. So Johnny Damon could
be an example. You know who's another example of this.
Albert Pool host is probably the greatest example of this
of all time. For those who don't remember, Albert Pool,
Holst's final season for the Saint Louis Cardinals was in
twenty eleven, and if you remember what happened in twenty eleven,
(17:33):
the Cardinals won the World Series. Albertpool hosts. At that time,
Levac was twenty nine years old. U thirty one, thirty
one years old. I just played in the Fall thirty
one years old, and pool host left Saint Louis. You
want to go play for the Angel So as much
as I'd like to say that, like, well, the fact
that the Dodgers beat the Yankees in the World Series
(17:55):
means he's going to the Dodgers, I don't think that's
necessarily that simple. Does that make you feel better?
Speaker 2 (18:02):
No? I just and listen, I'm not that. I'm not
that naive of a fan where I think the only
way you could possibly win is with Sodo. Like, if
you don't get soda, there's moves that can be made,
but you should be able to get soda. Like you're
the Yankees. You know you should be able to get soda.
(18:26):
You should at least be making a huge play for Sodo.
I just again, I just lost the World Series and
I feel like I lost it, you know that, Like
I'm that kind of fan, I say, wee And if
you don't like it, tough, I don't care. I feel
like I lost and you and now you're already like
picking the bones, You're already out of here. How dare you? I?
(18:50):
I just man, I'm mad. I'm a set I'm not okay, Well,
let me let me try to help you out a
little bit more here.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Let me try to maybe ease the pain. There could
be other factors of players who are an impact in
the series that could be sticking around.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Maybe what we going about.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Like Soto is the name that jumps ount to everybody
that Sodo potentially is leaving the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Well, I mean he's the number one free agent in
the world.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
G Labor Torres is he definitely gone.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
I think that'll be up to the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Anthony Rizzo definitely gone.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Probably, but that is that bad thing. I mean, he
is older. Now you're playing with broken fingers and stuff.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Bullpen arms, pick one.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
You don't think the bullpen needs to be upgraded.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
They're gone too.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Like, there's a lot of the people leaving or potentially leaving.
I said, Labor or the way Labor played is a
lead off hitter. I'm assuming they'll find a way to
keep it. I'm assuming. Now, if Soto commands six hundred
million dollars and you can't keep a lot of these guys,
you gotta go down to the farm systems, Well, then
so be it. Jason Domingez has come up, all these
(19:56):
other guys supposed to go, Austin Will's wal they started
looking better. I'm there. There's there's two things that I
really really want in the offseason as a Yankee fan.
I want Soto to stay and major upgrades in the pitching,
Like major upgrades in the pitching, because we is starting
(20:17):
pitching even the most important thing anymore. We the Yankees
run five nothing and then when it went to bullpens,
they got they got smacked around. Like you you need
some starters who can go, but you need bullpens. And
if you have a if your bullpen is deep enough
and you score runs, you're gonna win a bunch of games.
(20:38):
So you you tell me, like, how do the Yankees
get from losing the World Series in five and the
easiest path to the World Series ever to winning it?
And I think it's I think it's Arms and Sodo.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
That is the best path to get there. That is
the answer. Yes, And proving those two spots increases the
likelihood for the Yankees to bring home a World Series
add another championship to the legacy in the tradition of
the New York Yankees. I say this half choking, But
I am kind of serious with this. Avoid the Dodgers.
Hope you don't get the Dodgers in the World Series again,
because that is a real path that can happen. Like
(21:14):
you could get whoever's the best contender in the National
League Atlanta, the Mets, Diamondbacks were two seasons ago. The
Brewers maybe finally break through the Cubs. That would be
a great scenario. I know we do power rankings on
Tuesday in the NFL, but if we power ranked this season,
we would say those are the two best teams, the
Dodgers and the Yankees, two best teams all throughout twenty
(21:36):
twenty four. Dodgers and the Yankees. Get rid of that
weird window there where the Yankees struggled in June and July.
Get rid of that. You saw the two best. The
Dodgers had more firepower. The Dodgers end up being better.
Even though the starting pitching was an advantage going into
this year's World Series for the Yankees, it didn't play
a big as a factor is you pointed out there
because of other stuff that's happened, errors, offensive power, plane
(21:59):
throwers out of the bullpen. So the Dodgers have already
been doing this, and this is the weird part for
Yankee fans, and weird is the right way to describe it.
For a long time, didn't feel like it was just
the Yankees doing this, adding big time all stars, adding
super talent, willing to spend whatever.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Because maybe that hasn't been a while though, But.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
When it was successful, whether it's two thousand and nine
or a combination of what the tailing of the nineties was,
I can't remember Team two, Like, was there a second
team that was even close to the Yankees doing what
they were doing. If they were, they weren't.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Having a sing much.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
The Dodgers in the two thousand.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
The Red Sox salary got way up there for a
while they did. Yes, Yes, the Astros was was years
of being terrible.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah, I say that because they have a different way
to build this.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Rangers and the Angels did it, they didn't succeed at it. No,
the Yankees and Dodgers have found a way to do
both succeed with the spending. So that'd be a nice
thing to do. Avoid the Dodgers if you can, because
it feels like they're more aggressive in this way to
do it. Yeah, I like and that's the thing. Just
(23:06):
hear the Dodgers are actually gonna make a play for Sodo.
That's why they deferred so much money. Well, like one
of the rumors why he turned down that Nationals deal
is to deferred money. So I'd like to believe that
if the Dodgers make a play with deferred money and everything,
it won't it won't matter, it won't be enough. But
it's it is. It's just we both agree the question.
(23:31):
The answer sucked for Sodo, but it had to be done. Whatever, right, whatever.
But like now, like I guess, I guess I'm mad
at you because you want me to rebuild this team
and I'm not even ready to lose Soto yet. You've
asked me how to rebuild this team. You've asked me
how much money to spend. But tell me, you know,
say that's how you viewed my question.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
I was like, hey, you know there's other pieces that
could be important, it could get brought back. You thought rebuild,
I thought reload.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
I guess now, viewing how I asked that question, I
could see perception wise why you would have thought what
she did there here, I got one more effort, one
more try to make you feel better. I think I
got this one. Yankee fans, You know what we were
talking about here with Sodo and the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Maybe it's fake.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Maybe it's just an ancient floating stuff out there. No
hear me out on this. I got two recent examples
that proved to be true, Like Yama Moto to the Mets.
Everyone thought Yama Moto to the Mets was more likely
than we thought, having dinner, doing everything else. Yama Moto
got a bigger deal with the Dodgers. Was he really
ever close to going to the Mets? Was a dinner
(24:37):
the deciding factor for the Dodgers to spend over three
hundred billion maybe of all time? But open did free
agents of all the last five years, maybe of all time.
But Otani and Judge, Judge were the giants really in
the mix?
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Were they?
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Because when the time came, it seemed like Gee sign
pretty quick with the Yankees. I don't remember multiple trips
to Sanfrance this go. I remember maybe one. And then
he was a Yankee. And remember Otani, he allegedly was
on the plane in Toronto where he's remember that thing,
He's on the plane, he's signing with the Blue Chase.
They're not letting them off. Some report now that he
(25:16):
was never on a plane, not the plane a plane,
So maybe it's lies. Maybe it's agent's playing agent games.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
No, no, the I think the difference there is like
you knew who the you knew who the suitors were,
Like you know what I mean, there was a there
was a short list of suitors, right, there is no
short list for this one. I mean, if you're being realistic,
it's Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, maybe Seattle. They've thrown their pocketbook
(25:42):
around before. But I don't, like, you know, Padres, maybe,
but why would they like they trade him away. I
don't think they can afford to bring him back, or
they would have tried. I don't know, Like I think
it's I think it's Yankees, Mets are gonna are gonna
duel for for So. No, maybe doc So. You can
never say no to the Dodgers anymore. So if like
(26:05):
in your what you're describing, you know, oh, SODA's on
a bus to the Mets right now. Oh no, he's not.
He's actually excamed. Okay, cool, Like that's that's what I
I know that he's flirting, Like here's go back to
the dating and the marriaging. I know he's on she's
on dating apps. I just don't know if she's taking
(26:28):
anybody out yet, you know what I mean? Like, I
don't like. I know he flirting, I know he out there?
What up? How you angels? Do you look nice? Used
to have Otani money for some soda?
Speaker 1 (26:41):
Another way to play that scenario, you could call their bluff.
You could feel confident what you bringing to the table.
But how often you've been hitting the gym? How hownd
your commission check looked this past month?
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Wait? All right, so you're saying, just make the offer
and the walk away.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
I'm trying to tell the Yankee fans that maybe agents
are leaking out the interest in soda in the price
for somebody, because that's their job. And we've seen agents,
we haven't actually yet. And then again the guy, here's
the problem with what you're trying to say.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Here's why you're making me mad.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
I thought I was helping.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
You're not helping because you keep saying, here's what the
agents are saying. It wasn't the agent, it was one Soto.
He he said, all thirty teams are in. When they
asked him about the Mets. They asked him about free agencies.
They got, I'm a free agent, and then they asked
him about the Mets, and he goes, not just the Mets,
(27:32):
all thirty teams. He said, it not the agent. Was
it Boris? It was? It wasn't Borass, it was it
was Juan Soto. Juan Soto's standing there on his locker
while all of us are crying, going, yeah, dude, all
thirty like I'm ready, I'm gonna go. Look around. I
(27:54):
tried my best Yankee fans today. I tried my best,
but there's nothing. What do you like? How do you
make it like it is? It is? When it is
like again back to the word she gone, Whether or
not she comes home is up to her.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
I didn't like her anyways.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
You probably I know you didn't, but it was it.
Yeah quote, I haven't really thought about it. I'm proud
of the year that that Wannie this is I'm sorry,
who is this? I don't even know who this one
is anymore like everybody's or all the players are saying
stuff like they want to keep him proud of them.
Haven't thought about it? You lie, you lie, you lie?
(28:32):
Is ah Man, Carlos stan I've never been in free agency,
so just stay with us would be the advice. Hey,
I like him, go do that. Listen, listen to him. Yeah,
he said, all thirty teams around the table, so here
we go, Here we go? Is he? And and again
(28:55):
if he doesn't stay, you got Now it's up to
you to do something to prove you can build this team.
Cash like you can lead it. Boone, I'm not. I'm
not convinced. Like all right, so here's here's the deal.
All right, you want to do this, Let's do this.
If Soto doesn't stay, is there any way on God's
(29:17):
green ear if you keep booning Cashman? I guess that's
where I'm at, because right now, the number one thing
I would think, if I'm house Steinbredder, that Aaron Boone
and Brian Cashman have going for them is familiarity with
the guy that I want on this roster that's not
on this roster right now, and if he likes them,
they get to stay. It's almost Aaron Rodgers asked, that's
(29:40):
very rare.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
That feels, you know, chicken in the eggs thing doesn't
even work for this spot. I'm trying to think of
an example where a manager and a GM lost their
job like deeper into the offseason because they couldn't land
the big fish. That boy, that'd be pretty rare of
the vac if that happened. And I know your question asking, like, hey,
if they lose that type of impact player, whether it's
(30:02):
because of the last success of the team or relationships
or money or cash, but not doing enough, is that
a fireable offense not to bring back Juan Soda.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
I'm actually yeah, you can do the chicken the egg
because the reason I'm saying this is if I'm hol
I'm looking out going that was embarrassing, and I might
it might be time for new blood, and then I'm
looking and then I'm and somebody in that room when
How's making that decision, is gonna look at him and
go point of order, Do you think we have a
(30:31):
better chance of getting Sodo back with these two than
without them? If you think they don't matter at all,
blow them out. If you think they can bring Sodo back,
keep them and then once Soda signed, do whatever you
want to do. Because that's the thing. Like if you're
you imagine that, like think about it this way. Your
front office is empty, your your your manager's office is empty.
(30:55):
So now I gotta fill those two roles, and I
gotta sign SODO. That's a lot of work, that's a
lot of moving pieces, and that's an easy target report
to go. Yeah, I'm many another ten million a year. Why,
I don't even know who the measure is. My client's
gonna need more money, so he knows that you're serious.
Oh what's my heart? Wan? Yeah, it's a long Yankee fans.
(31:15):
It's gonna haunt you for the next few months Halloween.
All right, listen. What doesn't haunt me is I got
a guy, you know, like, oh who who could possibly
help me figure out how to fix my website and
uh do strategic marketing, whether it be you know, terrestrial
or or you know, social media or anything else. I
(31:38):
got a guy. Elevation ten thousand, Elevation ten thousands of
place to go. They got a strategy, they got a plan.
They're gonna get you where you need to be. They
elevate your brandy. Yes, they do whatever you're looking for
in your business, SEO, connecting with a new audience.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Maybe it's the apparel. I love doing this Levac Right now,
you're wearing Elevation ten thousand gear Tizo tomorrow, I'll tell
you right now, I'll be wearing Elevation ten thousand gear,
so we don't match like we did last week. Elevate
your brand whatever way you want with the great people here.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
You just buy your own too, like it's not you know,
and then I don't have to worry about the one
thing I bought you.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Elevation ten thousand can help you and your coworkers and
colleagues match at work or not match.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
You know, have a wide variety of options and ideas.
And like when I went in there and went, hey, guys,
I got an idea. I want to wear cage jackets
and stuff like that. Oh cool, let's find some stuff
the logos on it for you. You're gonna love it.
And you're got one for gods too, Okay, cool whatever.
Gosh is a hoodie. I've never seen him wear at botiform,
never seen him wear I told you it was stolen. Yeah,
(32:37):
but you're steal back. So I'm just saying. I'm just
saying you can. Also, it's so easy. They help you
do it. They help you do it right. Elevate your
brand today with Elevation ten thousand. Play the day come

Speaker 1 (32:50):
I'm sorry, I gotta cut you off there because I
got to tease for the play of the day.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
There are things that have happened, things that have transpired
over the last twenty four hours. If you've been following
this show since the summer, something has happened that I
need your advice on. And I'm also very hot waging
the sport. But more advice financial advisors.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
They are listening.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
I'm gonna need your advice for what just happened in
my life.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Next. Fox Sports Radio ninety.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Nine Slavak and Guz on ninety five to nine Fox
Sports Radio. I got a lot of questions for you, Leavak,
and this play of the day, a lot of questions.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
It was Professor Plumb in the conservatory with the lead pipe.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
I'm gonna I'll ask you this question, left, I'll ask
you this one out of the gates. I know earlier
this week you proclaimed your fantasy Versaryila play. Can you
at least do me a favor and hold one of
those plays till our third hour?
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Did you uh? Did you listen to Picks this morning? No? Well,
then you do not know my other two plays?
Speaker 1 (33:50):
All right, all right, that's that's number one. Number two,
I have to declare I had one of my biggest
I had one of my biggest wins of twenty twenty
four last night. A twelve one payback for me last night.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Here's twelve times to twenty four whole dollars.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
Huh good, Here's what I did last night. I love
waging on the NBA. I have to accept it. I
have to accept it. My college plays sit around a
little bit to five hundred NFL plays this season, this
fantasy far less than five hundred. But I'd say overall
picking games, I've been very average to blow average NBA.
(34:25):
I am four to oh so far this year and
not just four. And oh, here's what I did a
GOS special, Levac. And you did this earlier this week.
I have to say you might have inspired.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Me to do this. I'm glad. I'm here to inspire.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
The Chicago Bulls were down by seventeen points last night. Seventeen.
You know what I decided to do live bet live
bet baby plus three ten plus two eighty five plus
six fifty just fired away. Guess what those Chicago Bulls did.
They covered twelve to one.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
Let's go bulls.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
I'll tell you I'm convinced of this, and you're listening
right now, you can tell me maybe there's a different sport.
Maybe the fight game is a little different. Probably UFC
could be in the mix, but that's tough on delay.
Sometimes is there a better sport to wager in game
than the NBA? And my theory on this is this
three point shot, high paced, twenty four second shot clock
(35:20):
substitution's mid quarters could take a star player out of
the game potential foul trouble. I love college football, I
love the NBA. There's a lot of great sports. To me,
there is no greater sport to tell your own wager
than the NBA. Am I just recently buias because of that? Players?
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Does it make sense? It makes sense because you just won.
Oh like that's I think if if you had lost
money last night, you'd be like, you know, there's no
sport worse to live bet than basketball. It's the worst.
Nobody likes it. Everyone should stop. I think it comes
down to what you understand, you know what I mean,
(35:55):
Like if you have if you can see a flow
of a game, like when you're watching the NBA, if
you're sitting there going you know a what I can
see what's happening here, this is gonna turn then it's NBA.
If if that's you with football, then it's the NFL
or college. You know, it really comes down to how
your brain works. I think personally, okay, but you know what,
(36:16):
do I know?
Speaker 1 (36:17):
I will stick by my play in the NBA is
the best sitting game in game. Just always be careful
because if you're on a feed delay like Lavac and
I are, it's tough because you might get what you
think is a better number, but it's really not. That
a three goes in then you hated and everything else.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
So you know, two nights ago, we're talking enough about
last night. Every one it last night again. Well I
was live bet in the Yankee game during their win,
and yeah, it was ahead, the site was ahead, so
I'm like, I wanted to do Judge was gonna get
it hit. And then I saw like on my TV
(36:51):
he was walking up. It was they had ten runs
and then like on the average like eleven runs and
it woudn't let me be Judge. I'm like, oh, okay,
he had a double. I think I was gonna bet
a home run though, if I'll be in perfectly honest
with myself, so I probably would have lost.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Have you ever done it in bite wager? Because I
mentioned the UFC. I don't know if I explain that more.
They're like, Okay, let's say, for instance, fighters down to
nothing on the card. If you and I are watching
the fighter, like, all right, this guy's got no chance.
Let's say he's plus six fifty plus seven hundred. Hey,
the only way this is gonna cash is if he
goes for a knockout. That's a dangerous it's a fun payout,
but it can be dangerous in the sense of you're
(37:28):
waging on a fighter that's already been physically, Like you're
hoping that a guy has a hel Mary guess is
a bad comparison there because the cross sport.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
But you know what I mean, Like, sometimes you get
an underdog who you well, or or you get a
favor or whatever you see it where they're not as
stunned by the hits as as you as you think
they should be. And that's sometimes you'll ride that. You'll
go jump on that side because well, if they're not
stunned by the hits, there's a chance that they're just
gonna go in to t off and win, so that
(37:56):
that's the only time I really do it.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Yeah, there is something to the just first round of oh,
this fight's not going the way I hoped and just
backing off or ride it with your play. So that
was two questions I had for you. We have hit
a moment here.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Oh, by the way, it's play today, Yes, brought it
by Mohawks Chevrolet. Alright, together, let's drive at Chevy Alas
go out of the way to please you.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Alright, Levac, here's the scenario I have here for you.
In August, I did a seven leg parlay. And for perspective,
if I wagered one hundred dollars on this parlor, it
would pay me twenty four thousand, two hundred and twelve dollars.
Here's the parlay. I did seven leg parlay these teams
(38:38):
to make the college football playoff. Okay, Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, Texas,
Notre Dame, Boise State, and SMU. So, if you've been
following college football, all of those have a true scenario
to happen now. Earlier the summer, you've been listen in
(39:00):
the Levan Gas you know I'm on the road to something.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Do you know what the road is to loneliness? No,
that's the Pinkki from July, the road too from July,
the road to nowhere.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
No, no, no, no, it's the road to the PlayStation five.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
That was my next game.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
You may have forgot that after I didn't cash any
of the road to the PlayStation five. So gain the
mat there is. If that hits, that's twenty four thousand dollars. Now,
not only is that out there, you can figure out
how what have I waged? I didn't wage you one
hundred bucks, but I round robin this. So I've got
all the combinations for five, all the combinations for six,
(39:41):
and the combination for seven. So I covered my a
little hedge bet whatever you want to phrase it as.
So the big ones SMU in there. But let me
lay this out quickly for you. If you've been following collegeable,
you know that Ohio State this week plays Penn State
Big Game. You know that coming up this season, Notre
Dame still got Army on this schedule, Oregon is still
in the mixed Boise States and at Larne and my
(40:04):
favorite one on there, and I had it in the preseason.
SMU is undefeated in the ACC. SMU plays pit this
week and they're at eleven to one on this ticket.
So here's my thought. Uh, you know what I'm gonna say.
How much actually wagering on this? I usually don't, you know,
I'm usually unit changed. But with all those combinations played out,
(40:26):
this would pay me seven thousand dollars, which is a
lot of money for me, and I gratuate there. Again,
that's more about me just playing the combos. That's all
that was. So we have hit a scenario now, now, Levak,
where the cash out has been offered and it is
enough to buy the PlayStation and a game. So over
five hundred and fifty dollars has been offered for me.
(40:47):
So if I want to have the road happen, I've
done it. I've reached the road here. So Levac and
you listening, I toss it to you. Do I cash
out college football? Make the playoff Ohio State, Texas, Georgia, Oregon,
Notre Dame, Boise State, SMU placed in August, get the PlayStation,
(41:08):
be good to go.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Or do I ride this baby out.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
I've already hedged it. Or last case scenario. I talked
to my wife about this she said, one more week.
She I don't know what is in her mind. She
thinks Ohio State can beat Penn State. She thinks SMU
is gonna beat pitt Notre Dame is in good shape,
she says, ride it out. What do we think, Lavac?
Speaker 2 (41:33):
Obviously, the payout right now is a substantial increase on
what you wagered right.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
About twelve times as much twelve to one payout now.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
For you? You keep saying twelve to one, though, so
you might be lying, And I think that's the math.
How do you feel about your play? How do you
feel about these teams?
Speaker 1 (41:54):
Here's the biggest thing that is hurting me on this play. Here,
I believe all those teams can get in. The biggest
hiccup is SMU. Because SMU barely beat Duke last week.
SMU has some game. They're gonna be favored for the
rest of the year. But there's a scenario that plays
out where Clemson and Miami both also finished the ACC undefeated.
(42:19):
But wait a second, does that even hurt SMU's chances
Because let's say, for instance, they both play in the
game and one gets smoked, so they're getting none no
matter what Miami, Clemson will get into the ACC game
won't matter, and SMU will be eleven and one get
left out of the playoff. So that you know, the
tickets not to win the ACC, the tickets to get
in the postseason. And that's the biggest payer on the ticket.
(42:41):
So that's what's making me pause to wonder, Like, if
they lose one conference game, they're out and that will
be the payoff done. So that's why I'm concerned because
I could realistically see that happening everybody else I feel
really good about.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
I mean, you know me, hold, but like, how do
you feel.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
I'm gonna give it one more week? All right, I'm
giving it one more week.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
This is gonna happen. This could anything happen this week
that would blow you out. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
I would say that if Penn State beats Ohio State
and Ohio State goes to two losses and then potentially
plays Michigan for a shot at the playoff, that could
blow me out. Man, don't do that's me. That's a
scenario because.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
I'm there's no way, guys are earth I'm rooting for
Ohio State this week.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
I would say if Army beats Notre Dame later this
in November. That would end it.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Well, yeah, I'm saying this week cause you saying let
go mena, let it ride one more week. Those are
the famous last words before something stupid happens, if and
and you end up out So like, do I think that? People? Here,
Here's here's what I'm saying to you. You just said,
if Army beats Notre Dame in November, you'd be done, right.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
I would, I would think.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
So. Yeah, So what else has your attention at that level?
Because that one is making you nervous If there's no
if that's the first thing you think is a real
chance of you stumbling, you should ride till then and
then evaluate.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
That's it and maybe SMU against pitt this week. But
I think SMU is going to destroy Pittsburgh this week.
All right, the on another one.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
So I'm just saying, like you, you've looked at the
schedule to come up with this. Why wouldn't you look
at the schedule to decide whether not to maintain this?
I have, but I want to PlayStation Okay, all right,
I'll sell you my PlayStation four. How about you come
(44:39):
with a game? Yeah? I got a couple of games.
Couple now mine eyes mine plays the PSU four games too.
Speaker 1 (44:47):
I'm gonna ride this out, but I want to hear
from you on social media at tom guys here. I'm
Joe is Easy. It's a two hunt. You heard the
number two four two three. I've never had a ticket
this high. I don't even know what to do with myself.
I think I'm gonna let it ride out because I
covered myself with possible potential payouts either way or a
ride in this baby. This feels like your Empire stateed
parlay you had earlier this year, where you had the Knicks,
(45:09):
the Rangers.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
And the Yankees. Yeah. I never got where I needed
to go but cash out Land. Let me uh, let
me tell you this. I played the way us your
ears Jets. It's that Jets. Jay E t s Jets
chet chets. I'm gonna do the DeVante Adams touchdown again though,
because he's got a score eventually.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
Right, Yes, he does. I don't know what I want
to do yet, you know me, I'm usually pretty positive
of what I want to lock in. I kind of
like my undefeated NBA record and I don't want to
touch it tonight. I don't like anything in the NBA.
I don't like anything in college. No, no, no, I took
that back. I take that back. I love something in
college tonight. I want two lane tonight. Give me two lane,
two lane, sixteen and a half point favorite tonight. I
(45:50):
want everything about two lane again, fourteen and a half.
What did that change?
Speaker 2 (45:54):
Fourteen?
Speaker 1 (45:55):
Okay, I don't like that anymore. What the hell's happening?
What did someone not tell me about two lane Charlotte
tonight on Halloween? I should have been more informed about
that game, you know what, haunted. I'm still going with
too lane, still going with too lane tonight. But I
think I could be convinced of this Jet game. You
want to let's talk about that. Jet Football is gonna
air tonight here on Fox Sports Radio ninety five nine eight.
(46:16):
You want to preview a little bit more of this
game tonight, and maybe you can convince me if I
should take the Jets.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
Listen. If you don't take the Jets, that's on you.
I'm also gonna tell you that there is a Jets
parlay going. But it just feels weird. So let's talk Jets.
Let's keep it simple, stupid, you know what I'm saying?
All Right, Yeah, let's break this game down, let's talk
about it. Let's see if you if I can even
make you understand it, And you're home for Jets football,
(46:41):
Fox Sports Radio and nine eighty
