Speaker 1 (00:00):
More variety from the two thousand's, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey.
We are doing Second Date Update. Again.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Dating is not easy, right, so we want to figure
out why you're not getting a second date, hence the
name second Date Update.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Say what's up to Mandy? Good morning?

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Hi, good morning?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Okay, so let's break it down. Let's talk about this
guy Alan. By the way, thank you for the DM.
I want to talk about how you guys met and
then and then tell us about the first date.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yeah. Well we met on Hinge okay, and had like
a little bit of a back and forth. He, you know,
seemed pretty great. So we agreed to go on a
first date. He suggested this coffee shop. I am not
a coffee drinker by any means. I don't like it.
I don't like the taste of it. But I was like, well,

(00:50):
I don't want to just shoot this idea down, you know,
right off the bat, So try to get out of
my comfort zone a little bit and just do it. Okay, Well,
I agreed to go. I was pretty nervous though, but
honestly it went great. At least I really felt like
it did. We had like this great rapport, this great

(01:10):
back and forth. We joked with each other. I mean
it honestly seemed like we had already known each other for.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
A while, so the coffee didn't matter, really.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
No, no, and you know, yeah, it was still great.
I got my thing, he got his coffee drink, and
it was totally fine, and we like ended it and
hugged each other at the end and said we wanted
to you know, you know, we had a good time
and wanted to do it again soon. And then I

(01:40):
never heard from him.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Okay, which is usually how this goes, right, and we
try to figure out what happened.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Here's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Tell us his coffee was contaminated and he comes down
with amoebic dysentery.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Oh what ambic dysentery?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
WHOA look it up? Is he still in the men's room? Probably?
I don't either, but it sounds violent.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
You don't want me to describe it?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Oh, I mean that would be better than if I
was just being ghosted.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Here's the cups half full.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
We're gonna call him, so hang on the line for
a song, okay, and then and then we'll give Alan
a shout. Is that all right? Yeah, all right, we'll
have you listen in as always and we're gonna try
to get some answers. If not a second date, all right,
we'll do it after this Second Date Update Star one
O one three more variety from the two thousands of
the nineties. And today it's Star one O one three.
It's Marcus and Corey doing second Date Update, where we've

(02:36):
got Mandy on the phone telling us about her day
with Alan. They went for coffee. She's not a coffee drinker,
but there's other stuff to get there. It was a
phenomenal date, nonetheless. Now, Mandy, the issue is that he
has ghosted. I just want to recap here real quick.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Yeah, definitely. Yeah, it's been at least a couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
All right, go ahead and mute. We're gonna give him
a call and see what's up.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Okay, okay, well, hi many speak with Alan.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Please Hi, Alan, It's Marcus and Corey from Star one
O one three.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Good morning, right, yes, sorry, bug, I know it's early.
We do a radio show out of San Francisco on
Star one on one three for iHeartRadio. Wondering if you
have a second to be on the radio with us.
We're doing a thing called second Date Update, and we
just want to ask you about a date you've been on.
Is that okay?

Speaker 5 (03:35):
I mean I got I'm actually getting ready to get
a jump here pretty soon.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
We won't take up much of your time.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
Yeah, okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
So we wanted to ask you about a date with
a girl named Mandy because she said she had a
solid time with you. I guess you guys went out
for coffee and she thought there was really something there.
But she's feeling ghosted. So did you ghost did something
go wrong? We're trying to get some answers on behalf
of our friend here.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
Oh man, that's funny. The date the date was was,
I mean, it started off pretty good. You know, she
seemed like a you know, she seemed like a cool,
cool person when I when we first met and started
talking and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
I just she dug you. She dug you a lot
o sweet.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
No, my schedule has been messed up. And then I
don't know, there was just something weird that kind of
happened on the date, which kind of threw me for
a bloop. So, you know, I get like, I get
my drink and a little snack at this coffee shop
we go to, right and she requested a pop cup.

(04:44):
You know what that is?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
A pop cup?

Speaker 5 (04:47):
Basically, it's whipped cream for your dog. So if you
bring like a dog with you, they give you a free,
little tiny cup full of whipped cream.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
That's what she wanted to drink.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
That's what she ordered. So she was kidding, you know,
so I kind of was like laughing about it. And
then but she was serious and she was like, you know,
I'm there having my coffee and She's sipping on this
little pub cup and I'm like look at her, like
what is what.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Is going on here?

Speaker 5 (05:11):
Like what is this? And then and then I was
getting up. He used the restroom real quick, and she
she's asked for another one. She's like, oh, could you
grab another one? I was like, I was like, this
is weird. Like she's serious, Like she didn't have anything
to drink, she had anything to eat. She just like
had these two pub cupshooters.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
I just like those two words, pop cup.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Pup cup. So I yeah, just kind of threw me
off a little bit.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
And enough to ghost though.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
I mean, I've been.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Busy too, but I was going to actually respond to her,
and then I just something weird about that just popped
in my head and I was like, I was like God,
I was just you know, in the way she had
me go get it, and I just thought it was
so bizarre that I don't know, it just threw me.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
I wonder what the staff thoughts. And she didn't have
a dog.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Well, I mean he's the one going up there to
get them.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
I mean it's slightly out of the ordinary. But well,
let's hear. Here's the thing. So Mandy is actually listening
right now, Mandy, are you there?

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Yeah? Hi, Alan?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
So do you like whipp cream shooters? Is that what's happening?

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Yes? I did. I ordered where you ordered the pup cups.
We even like kind of joked about it on the date, like,
I don't know, That's why I kind of just am
a little confused that this is one of the reasons.
I mean I told him that I don't do coffee,
and I have like a massive sweet toothes like anything
sugar like all about.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
It, okay, okay, And they're free. My favorite there's that
she's a cheap date. So yeah, Alan, where does this
put you?

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Well? I kind of embarrassed to be honest with you,
because it's probably a weirder thing to be thrown for
a loop and.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Such a I was going to say, like, I feel
kind of we put you on blasts just being honest.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
I get that, Yeah, But as I'm saying it out
loud too, I'm like, I'm like, oh, that doesn't make
me look too great.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
But I don't know.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
Why it threw me to be honest with you.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
To listen, I get that it kind of maybe come
off a little a little weird, but I kind of
wish we had you had just kind of said something
to me, you know, at the moment, and we could
have just ye talked about it.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
I don't know, I got therapy this early.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Yeah, I mean I get it's not the most normal
thing to hear, and I don't know, maybe I could
have suggested someplace else other than the coffee shop.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
All right, Okay, well here's what I think you guys.
Let me know if I'm off base. So you guys
genuinely like each other. You genuinely had a good time.
We're just learning how to communicate. I get it. Can
we salvage this, like, Alan, would you do this again, Mandy,
are you cool to do it again? Now that we know?
We know?

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I mean, I personally would be down for that.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Okay, Alan, Well, there's just lobster house that I was
interested in. But you know what, I do need to
make this up because I'm feeling pretty silly, So yeah,
I would. I would love to.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
All Right, let's go, let's go a little premptive with
the cow bell, but alright, I like it. All right,
you too, Well keep us posted. Mandy. This is where
you tell us you have a shellfish allergy. But that's cool,
just kidding.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Nope, I'm all about it so great. Yeah, thanks guys
for I guess indulging
