That's why we do this every day. We try to
figure out why you are not snagging the second date,
even though you thought the first state was amazing.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
We've got Jason on the phone. Jason, good morning.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Hey, good morning, how are you good.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Let's talk about Maya from your DM. I know you
guys met online, right, was it hinge?
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah? Hinge?
Speaker 1 (00:27):

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yeah, the first date. You know, we hit it off
on Hinge. We talked about liking live music, good food.
We were talking about food, and there's this Mediterranean restaurant
over in Oakland that has, like, you know, the type
of food we were talking about, great wine lists. They
got the little Papa dishes, you know. So we went
(00:51):
there and had like these little lamb meatballs, really good
patatas bravas, which I don't know if you know what
that is, ortoes with like a little sauce.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
How can you go wrong?
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah, phenomenal, all right, you will so good. And I
was just in Barcelona not too long ago, and this
place like nailed it, like they they got it down
just right. Probably had a little like like Spanish red wine. Sure,
you know, great conversation. Date went well. I feel like
we just got like lost in the conversation. That's how.
(01:25):
That's how like smooth it flowed, okay, And you know,
I don't know. She said she had gone to like
a recent trip to Portugal, so again we bounded on
all this food and culture, and I thought everything went awesome.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
There was no kiss at the end of the of
the date, but there was a hug important.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
It was just like a hug. I don't know. It
was just like, ah, you.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Would know, you know, don't worry about it.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
It didn't it didn't seem like it didn't seem like
That's again why I'm confused, because it didn't seem like
off putting. It wasn't like a friend hug. It was
like a good hug, like at the end of a day,
you know.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
So that's again that's why I'm confused that she's ghosting me,
because I have no idea what happened. I don't know
if maybe she met somebody. I don't know, if you know,
I don't know, no idea.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Hang on, here's what I'm thinking.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
She has a friend who's visiting from out of town
who wants to do the tour of Alcatraz. And while
they're there, it's taken over by a general that is
demanding one hundred million dollars in war reparations or he
will launch chemical weapons.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
The rock ed Harris.
Speaker 5 (02:35):

It's Marcus and Corey. We're doing Second Date Update. I've
got Jason on the phone standing by. We're gonna call
his date Maya. She has ghosted since their first date.
It sounded like a date that I would want to
be on.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
Oh yeah, that kind of food, Mediterranean.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Like like top us. It's kind of Spanish vibe, Spanish reds.
I'm in on this So, Jason, you're still.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
There, I'm here.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, let's call her and figure some things out. We're
gonna find out why she ghosted. Go ahead and mute
your phone so you can listen in here we go.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
Hello, Hi, may speak with Maya please, mister Maya. Hi Maya.
It's Marcus and Corey from Star one one three.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Hey, oh hi, Hi, Hi, you listen to our show.
I do excellent night.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
So what are you doing?
Speaker 6 (07:05):
I am just getting some work done, okay, solarly in
the morning for botox.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
But all right, she's getting work done, doesn't mean she's
getting her face done. We are doing second date update?
Is are you familiar with that?
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Oh? Very yes, sweet, we'd like to ask you.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
I know what this is about already, Like I know
it's going to be Jason. So let's just bring them
on and get this over with.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
All right, it's busy, Jason. Are you there?
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Yeah, I'm here.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
So hello, Okay, So.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Jason, Jason, Jason, you had so much potential if only
you use your napkin like a normal human.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
How do you mean?
Speaker 2 (07:53):
I really like.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
Jason a lot. We had a great date. We had
like we talked about similar travels and we were talking
about what we're planning to do. But it was really
difficult watching him.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
Eat because he didn't use his napkin.
Speaker 6 (08:08):
He never he never put his napkin on his lap. No,
he didn't use it at all. It just like sat
there completely unused, and like we're having tap us. There's
lots of like sauces and finger foods, and when he
needed to wipe his hands, he just like licked his
fingers and then like kind of wipe them on his
hands like a ten year old. And then there was
(08:30):
at one point in the date, he had some kind
of sauce on his face and he just like reached
up with his thumb wiped it off and licked it.
But my brain was just screaming, dude, use your napkin.
And I didn't feel like correcting him or anything on
the date, Like I'm not his mom, but come on,
it's like low key disgusting.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Kind of reminds me of when a kid like wipes
their nose with their sleeves.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
She was saying, yeah, well, Jason, we have some clarity
your thoughts.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
I'm not sure if that's called clarity that because I
because I was eating with my hands. I mean this
was it was the food was really good, Like that's
that's how you eat. Like, I mean, if you're eating wings,
you're gonna like lick your fingers, Like I don't understand.
I'm a passionate eater, Like, so what it.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
Can get a little sticky, there's a reason.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
The food is good. You're like caught up at a moment.
You know, you lick your finger, you move on.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
I mean, yeah, but you're on a first date, you.
Speaker 6 (09:28):
Know, yeah, but you don't like your hands on your plants,
Like it was disgusting.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Like there's entire cultures that don't use utensils at all.
Do you think that they're savages.
Speaker 6 (09:42):
Cospect all cultures, but like it's a little bit different
between a cultural thing and like having manners at a
restaurant in you know, America. Like I just feel like
you were not being cognizant of a woman on the
other end of the table.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
It was just like growth, Wow, you know what, respectively,
you need to lighten up a little bit. I mean,
that's not a reason that I.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
Want you to wipe your hands on your pants.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
It's disgusting.
