Speaker 1 (00:01):
Cracking looking for their third head coach in as many
seasons now in the last three years, as they fired
Dan Biles yesterday. We are joined right now on the
Beacon Plumbing hotline by mister Kraken, Mikey Benton, Mikey uh
first and foremost, here we are. The more things change,
(00:22):
the more they stay the same. I like the move
and and interesting in the front office. But what do
you think where the ultimate reason or reasons why this
move was made?
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Well when it comes to the front office, Mark, and
by the way, thank you for having me here this morning.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
It's our pleasure, market, It's always our pleasure anytime man, anytime.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
By the way, I think it may have heard this,
but I think the voicemail guy who called in yesterday
to impersonate you deserve sainthood. I can't get over lapping
as hard as I could. And I heard someone so me, Hey,
it's a term of endearment market, you made it settle.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Hey, hey, listen.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
The mayor of Maple Valley, the salt of the Earth
of Seattle, the Seattle salt.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Of the Earth.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Ian Fernest told me, goes, when when people are imitating you,
then you know you're doing something right. Well, like I said,
and listen, I will tell you when I start the
show every day, Mike, and we can. I'm gonna give
you a little Paul Hayman ECW shoot a little bit.
I get the same text from the same guys because
(01:32):
I look at the numbers, and I look at the
last four numbers and it's just a.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Ooh, it works great, Bill, changing the channel.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Listen, guys, you're still listening to my sexy voice right now.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
You know you are.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
And I'll imagine within the next ten seconds as we
go eight seven, six, five, four three two one, you'll
be texting in right about now to tell me that
you're not gonna listen to the show. So you're changing
the channel. We were gonna listen to themists. Okay, sure
you are. We'll see. But thank you for saying that, Mike.
(02:09):
All right, Back to business. I get a little ad
D every now and then. Back to business. Why was
the move made? No, I what do you think the
biggest reasons why this move was made?
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah? So, I mean not to get off topic here,
but I think you know, from some management end, I
think it bears this question mark. If they made the playoffs,
this year, would this have happened?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
I don't think it would have. I don't think it
would have.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Do you, and well, let me, I think it's pretty clear.
But based on the fact that where expectations were about
probably you know, eight to nine months ago, they were
expecting to you know, if not be in the playoffs,
to be in the mix, and they were knocked out
of the mix, you know, weeks before the season was
even done. So I mean the raid right now is
that it doesn't happen, and there's a clear choice that
(02:55):
Jason Botteril is the guy they want over anyone else,
and this move was made swift to get this back
on the tracks. He's been here for five years, He's
won three Cup rings in the Pittsburgh front office. He
went through a tough time run of the Buffalo Sabers,
but that situation is a much different one with ownership
that have their challenges and are widely panned.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Throughout the league.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
So we'll find out more here coming up at one o'clock.
But I mean, Barrell's apparently taking the wheel on this
and the tea leaves here that we've seen so far
through the releases that Ron Francis is still here, but
he's more of the overarching theme guy in charge of
the hockey operations. There's a bridge with how this is
going to operate between ownership, executive management, et cetera.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Right, Okay, let me let me, as Dick fi Tal
would say, let me get it to you, old baby.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
All right?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
So does that mean that Botterrell is the guy that
the buck will stop with him on any moves that
are made.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Now.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I'm sure there will be consultation and he will get
advice from Ron Francis, But Bottrel is the guy. This
is not a Hollander so of a figurehead type position?
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Correct? Correct?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (04:04):
So I mean, if we're reading this correctly, here for
the release, this is gonna be Jason Botterol in charge
of making the moves, making the trade calls, the pre
agency everything. Ron Francis will be working with them hand
in hand. But that's where we're at right now.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Interesting, okay, so it would not have been made now.
Eddie Oltchek came on with the Mayor Ian Ferness the
other day and he said something which I found very interesting,
And he was talking about he felt that the Kraken
had enough talent after making the change, specially with Grubauer,
to decord that they had enough talent to make the
(04:38):
playoffs and the fact that they didn't was sort of
an excuse.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Do you agree with that?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Well, I see Edzo's point where this is arguably the
best roster that they put together in the four years
of this franchise. I mean, if you look at what
they as far as what they got here in the offseason,
Random onto our career high eighteen goals, Chandler Stevenson, slow start,
but he surpassed the point total earth mass it in
(05:06):
almost the exact same time of what he had in
Vegas this last year. Maddie Beniers, despite the slow start,
got back to twenty goals. He's still very young. Shane
Wright was knocking on the door for twenty goals. He
is still very young right now here, I think at
this case. But I mean, Mark, if we go back
here to this there there are two things that were
(05:27):
missing from this team that I think make a big difference.
Number One, Ian said this before I viewed this phrase before.
They're missing an aircraft carrier for a top line guy
scor that's always been absent here on this team. And
I think number two. Where is this team at right
now with goaltending Joey de Gordes come through, but you
(05:47):
can't play him all eighty two games. And I mean
for as much as Philip Grubauer has and deered himself
to this area. So what he did in the Stanley
Cup playoffs two years ago, the numbers don't lie. He
was struggling to get back to an eight A to
zho say percentage, and the league average right now for
a safe percentage if you look at roughly one hundred
goalies to have suited up this year and it ranges
(06:10):
from like one name to like I mean sixty five,
league average is eight nine to one. So if they
can find goaltending behind Joey de coord that is going
to get back to around that league average, you might
be lopping yourself off more wins. Not to mention this
well where the power play is at, and that's for
a different conversation.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Here, but you know, okay, okay, where this thing is
that that's.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Where the overarching holes we're here for this roster.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Mike Betton here on mister Kraken on the MJ in
the middend and becon Plumbing Hotline Live in the R
and R Broadcast studios brought to you by R and
R Foundation specialists. So you mentioned power Play. They were
third to last in the NHL, only above Buffalo and Carolina.
I noticed that Jessica Campbell was retained. Why she was
in charge of the power Play? Why?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Great question, and I think again that's going to be
an answer we're going to find out more so here
for today coming up when Ron Francis will meet the
media at about one o'clock. And it originally began with
a Bob Woods operation, then you know she's able to
take over the rains here on this. So you know,
as far as why these numbers, you know we're sinking
(07:21):
further there. There could be many reasons here to this,
whether it might be a technical issue or it might
be putting personnel here in the right spots. But I
think overall, I mean, the numbers don't lie as far
as where this team was falling short from this season.
There was goaltending, there was a top line issue, and
I think power Play certainly is part of that conversation
(07:41):
for sure.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Mike Benton, So I've did my little sort of research
on guys and my number one draft pick Mike cam
Moore to be the next head coach of the Kraken.
Is Jay Leech a guy that you know that spent
three years here in Seattle, went back to Boston as
an assistant were the Bruins that staff just got fired?
(08:04):
Do you think that Jay Leach is a viable candidate
to be the next head coach here?
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I would certainly put this from the optics of this,
that Jay Leach could be a very viable candidate. I
wouldn't be surprised now when it comes down to I
think the relationship with you know him and Jason botterol
Ron Francis will definitely have a say in this. I
think when it comes to certain coaching hires, you have
ownership that also will get involved here in the conversation.
But I think that the time has certainly come for
(08:33):
Jay Leach. He's been a very viable candidate elsewhere. He's
been in the mix elsewhere, and for a player or
for a player who you know, cut his teeth in
the NHL then wanted to go to the coaching ranks,
had experience in AHL Providence and found a way to
you know, produce good numbers here defensively for a team
that was still trying to pardon the expression, find at
(08:53):
sea legs. He did a pretty good job here in Seattle,
and you know, when he went to Boston, there's a
different dynamic of why he had he wanted to go
out there, and he put himself around a situation that
he was very, very familiar with. So I wouldn't be
surprised if he's there. Rick Tocket's name could be out
there potentially, that's a wait and seek thing here with
the Canucks, and that wouldn't surprise me based on the
(09:14):
fact that he was in the mix here for the
cracking job going back four years ago before Dave Axtell
got this. If you want to look outside the box again,
I mean, and these are candidates where you know they're
they're still tied down here at this point, and the
question bears, you know, what would it take to get
them promoted and to get them to leave a situation
where they're pretty comfortable with. But I'm curious also about
(09:38):
going back to where the Bruins are and you mentioned
this organization, what Ryan Muzanelle is doing with the Ahl Providence.
He's a head coach that is right now on the
come up.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Here's the problem.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Here's one thing, Mike, let me just say this, and
that's why I wanted to cut you sub But hold
your thought.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
There.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
You're looking at Leech and Ryan Muzanelle, as you talked about,
they could be the next Bruins coach.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
So you better get on this quickly.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
And this is where the the game really begins. Is
if you're chasing a guy that is well liked and
well sought out, and what's the cost going to be
to lock down that, uh, that individual within your organization
or to pry him out from a different situation here.
It's kind of what Jason Botterrel has been going through.
And I think this is a great question maybe that
(10:23):
we can get answers on later on. Is you know
how how much of a priority was it to get
him locked down here because he had reportedly been in
the mix for other GM jobs last couple of years
across the NHL. But back here to the coaching thing,
there's Mujanelle, who was well known and I had that
personal experience with them previously when I was an EHL Stockton.
(10:43):
He's he's a modern day players coach. He's engaging, but
there is a strong sense of accountability that has helped
put him up the ladder all the way.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Here to this point.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
I'm also curious about Mitch Love and Washington, and he's
on Spencer Carberry's bench, and they turned the bunch of
heads and got a team that reportedly was maybe going
through a bit of a retool and they were an
outsider for the playoff picture. They squeaked in last year,
and all of a sudden this year they found a
way to rejuvenate Alex Ovechkin's game. Their defense looks great,
and they're one of the top teams in the NHL
(11:15):
once again this season and looking brand new. Mitch Love
is a well known name here to the Pacific Northwest.
He was on the bench for the Everett Silver Tips
in the Western Hockey League. I've had two years or
bigger part in three years with him as well. His
number hangs in the raptors of that arena because he
was a very popular captain who brought together a team
(11:37):
of cast offs and got them too a championship series
in their expansion year. And he's got up and up
and through the ranks to the AHL twice Coach of
the Year, and now to the NHL. On his bench
and come from a similar mold as far as the
messaging and the accountability that Ryan Muchanelle has as well.
I do know for a fact he interviewed for one
(11:57):
NHL job last year in miss Out. So if you're
looking for a couple of individuals outside the box, I
would keep my eye on those.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Couple of names are Mark all right.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
I threw some other names just speaking of guys with
NHL experience, David Quinn, Penguin's assistant coach, throwing him out there,
Marco sturm Ontario AHL coach, and a couple of guys
in the college ranks that have had a lot of
success David carl at the University of Denver and J.
Pandolfo at BU Boston University. So I'm just thrown out everything.
(12:29):
But how much is on bottle roll and Ron Francis
because to get this right, because here we are and
it feels like groundhog Day, this next hire needs to
be the right higher.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Yes, and they're gonna have three coaches on the payroll
right now, right, So you definitely, I think believe that
they're looking to get this right and get this right
back on the tracks as soon as possible, So you know,
it was confirmed that this is going to be an
open search, so I wouldn't count out japandalfo io effort.
A lot of murmurs about where he could be landing,
and his name is getting bigger on this radar. Marco
(13:05):
Sturham is a very intriguing individual here to me and
on a similar path to what Mujanella's had.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
But right now he's cutting his teeth.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
In the Los Angeles Kings organization and I think he
would be a fine fit as well. I'm curious, you know,
about David Quinn as far as where he would fit now.
He's he's got a couple of runs here through some
head coaching jobs, but it really depends upon the personnel
that he has. I think, what's kind of messaging that
he wants to deliver, And that's where a conversation between
(13:33):
Jason Boderol and him and Ron Francis as well. You know,
I think David carl also really intrigues me. But I
would again, I think in the in the very first
look at this, be cautious of I think elevating a
college head coach to the NFL, because it's not like
hiring somebody from college football all the way to the NFL,
(13:56):
Akin to Pete Carroll. There's a steepers for climb that
you're going through going from a college position all the
way to the NHL. Now it's getting a little bit
more narrow because of how college is viewing how they
develop talent and get them ready. But there's also a
difference of structure, I think, with how you run a
(14:19):
team on the ice to structure with how things operate
off the ice. NILS maybe changing that a little bit here,
but it's still very few and far between the amount
of coaches who make the jump directly from the NCAA
all the way to the NHL and are able to
sell themselves on how they are able to communicate with
full grown adults, you know, pushing thirty years of age
(14:40):
and say pushing kids or between you know, the age
of eighteen to young adults all the way into age
twenty two. So that'll be a very interesting conversation. But
it is undeniable though that David carl is definitely on
that radar for sure.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Well. The guy speaking of Mike Beton here, mister Kraken
on MJ in the midday on the Beacon Plumbing hotline.
Let's go to this offseason because I believe and I
think the Kraken will be players. Unlike their brethren at
T Mobile Park who didn't do ish all off season nothing.
I think the Kraken are gonna be major players. Mitch Marner,
(15:14):
he's a free agent and he'll be twenty eight on
July first. You're talking about he got nearly eleven million
last year from Toronto. He's gonna be the Sam Darnold
of this year's NHL free agency class. Nikolai Eelers, let
me just save you on the Rat. The rat is washed,
Brad mar Shan is done. You don't want any part
(15:36):
of that. Tavares is too old as well. Maybe Sam
Bennett another guy that you could see there that you
know from the Panthers and what they could do there.
Do you see the Kraken being players in this free
agency market, because, like you said, you need an airline here,
you need a front line star. You need a Nathan
(15:59):
McKinnon or a McDavid or a dry title.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
I see them being major players coming up here for
this summer. I think the question bears. I think the
question bears ultimately, who is going to be the right guy.
And I've always counted the Mitch Marner drum for several reasons. Mark,
I mean, I think he's gotten a bump wrap in Toronto.
I think that you know, the ability that the player
(16:24):
has versus the kind of pressure pack situation he's dealing with,
I think is something that you have to separate. And
we learned that lesson here with Coppocaco once he came
from the New York Rangers back before Christmas. The question
is is he going to be available? He's from Toronto.
He's always loved playing Toronto. So that's something that the
league and Marner are going to have to work out
(16:45):
before it's finally judgment date here on this contract, and
if they get something ultimately signed. I love the addition
possibly of Elers. I would even think about taking a
swing of Broadbster if they can. And how juicy would
that be if you can try that guy away from
the Vancouver Canucks and ship them two hours down the
freeway all the way here to Seattle where he could
(17:06):
come back and han his former team. He's also a
playoff proven player. He shows up in big games. He's
not a forty goal guy, right now, I think it
would make sense, you know, if you package somebody else,
or if you can find a way to guarantee that
somebody else from the AHL, like say a Yannie Newman,
or say if Berkeley Caton pans out, the best case
(17:27):
scenario happens, and you offset that need for offense with
what you would get in, say, versus getting one flat
out forty goal guy. But if Marner isn't available again,
Ron Francis said about a month ago that he mentioned
the word opera sheet, which tells us they're open here
to this, and I think Saint Louis blew the lid
off on this thing with Edmonton. But if Marner gets signed,
(17:49):
that puts potentially Toronto in a cap crunch, and with
then free up a guy who's pushing thirty goals this
year still Young plays a brash, abrasive power forward game
of Matthew Knives. I think that would be a tremendous
fit here for this team if they can find a
way to get him out of that situation, but it
would cost them a pretty good haul. The good news
is that the Kraken have that Hall stored up in
(18:10):
the form of draft picks. Yes and they can find
a way to compensate this necessary. So there are different
ways that they can go.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
But the one thing that.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
We've learned, at least from Jason Botteroll's previous tenure mark
is that he's not afraid to take big swings here
in trade. Some have panned out, some have not pound out.
There are lessons are, of course to be learned, but
previously under a pretty good situation at Pittsburgh he learned
under one of the greatest and Jim Rutherford. He's got
three also three Stanley Cup rings here to prove that.
So I think we're looking at a pretty active summer
(18:38):
coming up here. The question I think is not who
they bring in, but how much they bring in?
Speaker 1 (18:44):
How many I mentioned I think Francis talked about this
the other day. What have they got something to the
extent of ten total first and second round picks over
the next couple of years or something.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
What is exactly Mike, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
So they're looking at a pretty good hall as far
as what they have app coming up here.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
And I don't have the actual right they a lot, well,
they got a.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Lot to have the actual right here in front of me, right, yea,
as of right, now they have coming up in twenty
twenty five. They have a pick here in round one.
They've got also two picks in round two, and they
have more coup They have two picks, and they have
two picks in round one in twenty twenty six. That's
going to be potentially a loaded draft. And two picks
(19:26):
also in the first round in twenty twenty seven, and
then you got five more as well coming up in
the second round. So they've got a lot to sling
if they want to get something, and someone in here
to make this a quick fix.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
All right, Mike Betton, We always appreciate the time. Good
good talking to you and look forward to seeing you
sooner than later.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Thanks Mike, appreciate it. Thanks Mark all right.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
NFL draft analysts win through pick by pick for the
Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Did he nail it?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
We'll find out what We won't know until years from now,
but we'll find out. I'll give you my grade on
his picks. Coming up next on MJ in the midday
ninety three to three. kJ Aretha and the National Football
League will take place from Lembo Field, the not so
Frozen Tundra at the end of April. In Green Bay.
(20:14):
So a Hugh Millan will join us in studio tomorrow.
Looking forward to that, and obviously you know him in
Softy are gonna have their huge mock draft coming up.
They're gonna be at Queen Anne Beer Hall, I believe
tomorrow as well. So he's gonna stop by here first
and then over with Softy and Dick and the boys tomorrow.
(20:35):
So I'm gonna head over there as well, looking for.
I haven't met Hugh in person yet. I know you have, Chris.
He's a good guy, huh. Yeah, So I'm looking for.
I've already like love working with him. I already love
working with him. Can I ask for one thing? And
I won't get it, but I'm gonna ask for it,
just like I won't get not doing construction in morning
(20:55):
rush hour traffic in Seattle, especially on Alaska Way into
Elliott Bay that area, like not only that? Can we
stop showing the war rooms and everybody.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
Like yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Like fizz pomping and hogging and all the Can we
stop with that, ish please? It's tired, it's annoying, and
you look back now and you want to say, oh,
like we're That's the one thing I will admit about
the Patriots in the Belichick era, they never did that crap.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Never. They just made the pick and that was it.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
How about you look back now and you look back
at David Tepper taking Bryce Young over c J.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Stroud.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Yeah, whoa great? How about the Jacksonville Jaguars name any
of their picks? Justin Blackman, who's basically become this crackhead
now literally he just got arrested the other day and
I feel bad for the guy, but like, can we
just stop? I know we won't, but one can always wish, right,
all right? Mike Dugar, friend of the show, a guy
(21:58):
that Christopher Kidd. You do a podcast from the Athletic
on the Seahawks. What's the name of the podcast so
everybody can listen.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Chris Seahawks Man to Man.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Seahawks Man to Man. You can find that wherever you
find your podcast. Mike Dugar went through meticulously and he
did a mock.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Draft just for the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
So he has the Seahawks making a trade moving down
with the Green Bay Packers, who move up to eighteen.
The Packers will acquire the Seahawks pick at eighteen. The
Seahawks would move down to number twenty three and get
Green Bay's eighty seventh pick in the third round, So
that would be six picks in the first ninety two, which.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Would be major major.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
With the twenty third pick in the twenty twenty five
NFL Draft, Mike thinks the Seahawks should take Tyler Booker,
guard Alabama.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
I like it at that pick. I like it, I
don't love it at eighteen.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
I'm okay with it at eighteen. I'm not exactly warm
and fuzzy all over at eighteen. But I think, what
does his team need more than anything? They need interior
protection and they need somebody. And he talks about he says, quote,
I have the Seahawks trading back into the first round
(23:23):
to select North Dakota State offensive lineman Gray's Abel, who
can play guard and center. Booker's a number twenty four
prospect in the top rank guard and the Beast disables
the thirty second prospect in the top rank center, though
NFL teams might see him as a guard. So okay,
(23:43):
so I'm a little confused here. He has them taking Booker,
but then he also talks about them trading back in
the first round and takes Abel.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Two guys okay, all right, it's aggressive. I don't mind it.
I'm okay with it.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
You just got to read the fine print here, dank god,
I was reading the frind print, not just the boldface
riding the headlines. So then he has the Seahawks making
another trade, trading with the Tennessee Titans. Now this is
a big one, big gig, big big one. Well, they
would give up their second round pick, number fifty, the
(24:18):
DK Metcalf pick, their third round pick.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
At eighty two, which they already had.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
And the two hundred and twenty third pick, which more
than likely a guy will be, you know, stocking shelves
at Walmart for the Titans thirty fifth pick. And with
that thirty fifth pick, he has the Titans, excuse me,
he has the Seahawks taking in the second round, Jaden
Higgins wide receiver Iowa State, six' four two point, fifteen
(24:51):
built like an outside.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Receiver big.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Guy not obviously as big AS Dk, metcalf but then,
again who. Is SO i don't have an issue with it.
THERE i have an issue with it at eighteen at Their,
OKAY i see you, Working, MIKE i see you, working
AND i like. It so so far he's got The
seahawks Getting Tyler booker And, greysabel which Grays abel can
(25:17):
play either, guard ant or, center so you solidify the
interior of THAT o. Line, now with the fifty second
pick in the twenty twenty FIVE Nfl, draft he has
The seahawks Taking Darius, alexander defensive, Tackle toledo big, boy six,'
(25:40):
four three. Oh, FIVE yeah i know he Played. At
Toledo Soden. Kareem hunt doesn't matter where. You're from it
matters where. You're going that's all. That matters so not
exactly the biggest need because you know You Got leonard
Williams And byron Murphy And, jared reid but you never
know who. Gets hurt you always need depth in. The,
(26:00):
rotation now third round pick eighty, seventh overall he has
Them Taking Noah noel williams Corner Cal cal berkeley. Like,
it listen if you want to add depth to an
already top five defense and make it, Even stronger i'm okay.
With it but he gets very defensive minded five, picks
(26:23):
later as he Has the Seahawks Taking, josiah stewart edge
rusher Out, of michigan very undersized six to one. Two
fifty who needs to Go To frisco freeze or your favorite,
burger Joint maybe dix or whatever and put on. Some
(26:44):
meat put on. Some Meat edge rusher at. Two, fifty
no no now now, So far all, In all i'm
Liking what. I'M seeing i know this guy who he's
got taking in round four with the one hundred and
thirty seven pick FROM.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
The U.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
JALEN rivers i know him, very well six,' six three.
Twenty long arms he was A stunt at miami cam
word hardly got touched. THIS past year i watched him
and watched him perform at a very high level for
three YEARS. At the u rounding out in, The Fifth,
(27:22):
round devin Neil running back kansas at the one hundred and.
Seventy second pick he GIVES them a rb fifteen with,
a fourth round. Fourth round grade taking in, the fifth round.
And another guy we've Already Got, one kobe bryant. Let's
get another We Got one kobe bryant, in a secondary.
But there's another this guy spells his NAME with a
(27:44):
C out of kansas with a one hundred and seventy
fifth pick. IN round five I Could tell mike dugar really,
did HIS homework and i got to tell you, just
on paper which is.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
All this is but. HE'S on paper.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
I like it i'd give IT probably a b plus
a minus just on paper now could end UP being,
an a plus but he. Did His homework jalen rivers in
the fifth round, or excuse me in. The fourth round
that's a huge value pick at. One thirty seven. You're
adding DEPTH i'm not i think THE one pick i
don't like. That he took i'm not big on undersized rushers.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
ON the age i don't. Like those guys now it's a.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
THIRD round pick i think we can do better there
than a guy, who's, two, fifty because bro you're gonna
have to get, in and start get put on some
serious weight if you're gonna be an edge RUSHER. In
the nfl unless they convert, him to linebacker then it's.
A different, story, then okay fine but can? He play
linebacker not really A Fan of. Josiah stewart pick, OTHER
than that i think everything else. Sounds pretty, Good And,
(28:46):
again noel williams the Corner, out of California. Consensus all
american getting him in the third round at the, eighty
seven pick you. Can't beat that you, Cannot beat that so, all,
IN all yeah. I Like it and tyler he Has
Him getting Tyler Booker and gray's abel in. The first
round and, you all know because you've been HERE longer,
(29:09):
than i have there's nobody more unpredictable in terms of
who he's going To Select. Than john schneider so we'll
see what he does coming up. IN the draft i,
am so. HOT it's ridiculous i Am Hotter than adriana
lima In Her victorious secret supermodel Days. On the runway,

i wouldn't be Surprised if the pistons, win. The game,
(30:34):
huh You Know like tom brady once said when he
was Playing, for the patriots when They, got to sunday
they already had the answers. For the, tests it's like
THAT'S sometimes what I do when. I pick games it's
like having the answers, for the test, which you know back,
in the day me and my buddies we used to
do back.

get the answers, before THE tests and i remember the
teacher going, through she said and the highest grade in
the Class Goes to mark.

jaron jackson junior who's being called Out Everywhere, by kendrick
perkins they're gonna come to play and score more than.
