Speaker 1 (00:00):
We are joining right now by NFL draft analysts from
A to Z Sports. Ryan Roberts, we spoke to before.
How you feeling, Ryan, and do you have a bold
prediction as we are now just less than five hours
away when the Tennessee Titans, really it's the Cleveland Browns
(00:22):
are on the clock. We all know the Titans are
going to be taking cam Ward from the U number
one overall? Is there anything that you think that we
should look out for some bold prediction tonight?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yeah? No, I mean I first four months. I appreciate
you having me. I always love this time of year
because I just kind of get to sit back and
just watch people freak out over rumors and last bit
of things that you know, people want to hyper focus on.
If I had to make a bold prediction, I put
it on an article actually today because I've had a
lot of deeper conversations the last couple of days. Now
that everything's kind of overly settled right draft boards are set,
(00:58):
I think if there was one bold prediction, it's not me.
It's becoming less bold as the day goes on. And
this is why I know it's a pretty good prediction.
Is that Kelvin Banks the offense attack for Texas. I
think has a very good chance to be the second
offensive lineman off the board and crack in the top ten.
If you kind of have been a mock draft follower
the last few months, Kelvin Banks has kind of been
like in the teams late teens, sometimes in the twenties
(01:19):
and mock drafts. But I think the Las Vegas Raiders
at number six, the New York Giants at number seven,
I think that they have a lot of interest in Banks.
So I think the number was yesterday it was like
thirteen and a half, which is over under. Actually got
a little bit of action on the under on that
one because they got a little bit, you know, early
insight into that one. But it sounds like the line
is moving towards my favor as we kind of woke
(01:40):
up this morning and stuff. So I don't think many
people probably would not have believe me if I would
have said that Kelvin Banks would have been the second
offensive lineman off the board in the top ten pick
a couple weeks ago. But it seems like that is
trending that way heading into the first ten at the draft.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Hey, Ryan, I don't want to change the subjects. I
just there's a breaking news that just came across here.
Sean Sherania, the son of Gilbert Arenas, USC commit Elijah Arenas,
has been placed in an induced coma after he was
involved in a serious car crash in the LA area
early this morning. He's eighteen years old, number thirteen recruit
(02:14):
in this class. McDonald's all American, projected to be a
first round pick in next year's NBA Draft eighteen. So
I just want to say this, thoughts and prayers are
out for Elijah Arenas.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
In the Arenas family. That is just very.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Life comes at you quickly sometimes, man, So I just
wanted to get that out there to the eyes. It
just literally came across and Chams was on top of it,
all right. No way to segue out of that. Ryan
you just mentioned, though, somebody you mentioned and I was
hoping and praying because I don't think we'll get your
thoughts on Colston Lovelin being there at eighteen for Seattle.
(02:51):
But my thing is, okay, if he's not there, and
I don't expect him to be. If he's there, that
to me is like the that is like hitting the
for the Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
I wanted Kelvin Banks.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Man, Oh, so you're thinking he's gonna be gone in
the top ten.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, I mean, I'll put it this way if I'm
Seattle and this just kind of been a vacuum for
a second. So one of the things I was kind
of told recently is that people are expecting a big
run on offensive line, especially in the first round. I
didn't think most people predicted that because it's like a
it's not a great offensive tackle class this year, Like
there's not a ton of true blindside protectors especially, So
(03:29):
I think most people kind of just expected this kind
of trickle down the board a little bit. You know,
maybe Josh Connerley is available in the twenties, the Kelvin
Banks might go like eighteen to Seattle, and people kind
of expected it kind of worked like that. But from
what I'm told, like it sounds like there could be
a big offensive line run, especially New England. Pages are
expected to take either Will Campbell or Armand Menbal the
offensive tackle of Missouri with the number four overall selection.
(03:52):
If that happens, especially, you should expect somewhere in that
Raiders pick, maybe the Jets pick as well, another offensive
line comes off the board. New Orleans say, will probably
have some interest in offensive line, depending on what the
quarterback board kind of shakes out with and where they're
comfortable with. In that regard, Chicago Bearris, you can't count
the nine of potentially as a left tackle team if
they stick at ten. I mean Miami Dolphins at twelve.
So like, there was a lot of offensive line heavy
(04:13):
needy teams. And although I don't think it's a great
offensive tackle class this year, I do think there's gonna
be a run early on. So if I'm a Seattle
Sealk City team and if I'm in Houston Texans at
twenty five, teams that do have a glaring need on
the offensive line, you might have to mortgage a little
bit of draft capital here to move up potentially, or
else you might miss the run.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Is there somebody worth like, I mean Calvin Banks? But
giving up now Seattle's got five with the top ninety
two picks, two in the second round fifteen fifty two
and two in the third round of eighty two ninety two.
Do you think it's worth moving up to get someone
like Calvin Banks?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Ryan Roberts, I.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Mean, personally, if if I was okay with where the
health is for Josh Simmons out of Ohio State, who's
dealing with the battel a tenant injury. If I'm comfortable
with it, he's the one that's probably gonna fall a
little bit. It's based upon the injury. If Seattle can
be patient at right tackle, you know obviously with Charles
Cross at left tackle, and and just kind of be
patient with the recovery time with Josh Simmons, I would
(05:10):
be more than okag just drafting him in eighteen and
just kind of stay in patent sticking there because I
do think that that's the one if there's a value
offensive tackle in the class, because like you know, i'd
like Kelvin Banks, but like Kelvin Ben, should not be
a top ten NFL draft pick.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Saying that herafted WHOA Okay, I.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Think a few of them can be. I mean, look again,
I like Will Campbell out of LSU. I think he's
gonna be a good offense line in the NFL. But
like in a vacuum, should he be a top five
NICIAL draft pick. I don't think so, Like, I really don't.
I mean, I think he's more of like a top
fifteen pick. Than he's a top five pick, you know,
like it's just a little bit of overvalue. So I
do think that if you want to find the value,
find the guy that is falling for x amount of reason.
I think that's like a Josh Simmons. Again, like you
(05:48):
might have to be comfortable with waiting on the timeline
of the recovery from the injury and all that type
of stuff. But I'd much rather draft. I'd much rather
draft Josh Simmons at eighteen with a little bit of
a risk the mortgage a bunch of draft caver going
to the top ten to draft like a Kelvin Banks
or something. I think that that value is much better
in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
All right, so what are the stronger likelihood Do you
think Lovelan will be there at eighteen or Banks be
there eighteen, or do you think it's to quote Vince micmahon,
no chance in hell on either.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
I think it's a very slim chance. I would say
it's a better chance that Lovelan is there, although I
don't think that necessarily happens either. It really is dependent
on what the Jets do at seven. Because Jets have
kind of been the team that everyone has looked at
as like that's the that's the Tyler Warren pick in
the top ten, Like that's the team that kind of
jump starts the tight end board if he goes at seven.
I don't think Lovelan gets to eighteen, just because there's
(06:39):
going to be a team there in the you know,
the late the preteens, early early teams that want to
be able to get a guy like a Colston Lovelan
with how that board kind of falls, because here's the
thing is, like there's some value in this tight end class,
but tight end one to tight end two is a
much smaller gap in this class than tight end two
to tight end three. Like I mean, tiny three is
not should not go in the first round, they just shouldn't.
So I think a team is going to draft I
(07:00):
can potentially in the early teens, if not a little
bit before that at Colson Lovelin speaking. But if you're
asking me who has a better chance of being there,
I do think it's Lovelin, just because I'm pretty certain
and as certain as you can be in the draft
space because it's so volatile and things change so quickly.
But I am pretty certain that Kelvin Banks is going
to be a top ten draft pick. I'm not certain
that Colston Lovelin will for sure be a top fifteen pick.
(07:22):
I think it's probably likely, but I do think he's
more likely to be there than Banks. But it's probably
very small likelihood that either of them are there at eighteen.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Now Ryan Roberts showing us here from a to Z
Sports draft analyst.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
We know John Schneider is a wheel earned dealer.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Especially j He's the most unpredictable executive and general manager
and president football operations that you can ever prognosticate to
what he's going to do. Who would be a potential
dance partner, a trade partner if the Seahawks wanted to
move up for Loveland or Warren. I looked at Carolina
at eight or is that too much to move up
(07:55):
ten spots?
Speaker 2 (07:58):
So I think it's a little bit too much. I
mean tens a lot. I would look at maybe like
a San Francisco forty nine ers, even though I know
it's an interdivisional thing and people hate that. But we
have seen that more happen over the last couple of
years as far as like being okay with those types
of decisions. But I think eleven to hop in front
of Miami, especially if you're looking to move up. I
know you talked about Loveland the tight end board, but
(08:18):
even if you want to move up for the offensive
tackle run potentially as well, jumping in front of the
Miami Dolphins at twelve, who are you know, definitely in
the offensive line market, I think would be interesting, especially
because if a Loveland is moving on the board and
the offensive tackle market started early the run, if you
jump in front of like Miami Dolphins, I think you
could at least have a couple options on the board,
maybe one offensive lineman you like and then maybe Loveland,
(08:39):
So at least you have a little bit of a
conversation of like who you would rather prefer After that, though,
I think you know Miami at twelve, like if there's
no offensive lineman that they love at twelve because that
run started, maybe they'd be willing to hop back to
you know, eighteen, and you swap up to get there
to make sure that you get your Colston Loveland that
you know is just still kind of waiting for you.
So I think like that eleven or twelve range makes
(09:00):
a lot of sense moving up from eighteen to eight,
like that's that's gonna take some capital. Like, you know,
ten spots in an interfal drive, especially inside of the top
twenty picks is a lot.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Yeah, when you look at towards the second round and
their Seahawks are sitting there at fifteen fifty two, Ryan Roberts,
what do you see there as being Will Jaden Higgins
slip to fifty or how about I don't think this
guy gets to fifty, but one.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Guy man a couple of years ago.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
I can't believe I'm seeing that Luther Burden might not
even go in the first round.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, it's pretty wild. I think Luther Burdon is a
and there's some like I don't want to call it
character because I think it's just a little bit of
maturity stuff, right, and usually people bro out of the
maturity issues. But that's kind of been the conversation piece.
I know a lot of people are talking about him
potentially getting into the thirties somewhere like the Tennessee Titans
at thirty five has kind of been a spot that
has been kind of highlighted between Luther Burton and potentially
(09:55):
coming off the board. Then I think there's a decent
chance he does slip out of the first round, but
I don't think they'll be available at fifty. Like that's
a long stretch there, you know. But I think a
Jane Higgins actually might go higher than Luther Burden though
if there's like a surprise wide receiver to get in
the first round that not minding people are projecting, Like
a Jane Higgins is kind of that guy, you know,
like he's a big body, he tested well, he had
(10:16):
a good Senior Bowl, Like he's just kind of stacked
good after good in this process. So he might actually
go a little bit higher than some people anticipate. I
think more in like the fiftiest range. You're looking at players,
you know, it's possible with Trey Harris from Ole miss
is there, who's kind of your big body outside receiver.
It's possible in el Ao mannor out of Stanford is
there potentially he's kind of similar ish player, like he's
gonna play outside the numbers a little bit more, pretty
(10:38):
good route runner.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Though.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
There's gonna be a couple of interesting big body guys though,
because I know right now in Seattle obviously with Cupp
and Jack Smith and Jigg, but like those are that's
a lot more like slot types, right, Like guys are
gonna move inside and move all over the place a
lot if you wanted a big body pass catcher. Though,
I do think there is some value with a guy
like Ao Manor or a Trey Harris that could be
staring at you in the face of fifty.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Yeah, it's I think that something that the Seahawks can
look at at the number fifty. Who do you rank?
And I and listen, we all have different ones. I
don't want to lead the witness on the stand. I'm
just gonna throw this guy. The original NFL draft guru
Mel Kiper, he ranks Travis Hunter as the number one
overall wide receiver in this draft.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Who do you have? Do you think he's the best
wide receiver in the draft?
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I actually do. I actually prefer Luther Burton as just
a pure wide receiver. Travis Hunter is my number one
ranked corner. I actually, that's the weird thing about that
Cleveland fit is that Cleveland drafting him at number two
is drafting him to play wide receiver. They had the
thirty second ranked offense in the NFL last year. Travis
Hunter is well, he might play a little bit of defense.
He's going to be mostly a wide receiver in Cleveland, Like,
that's what he's going to be, Okay, I but I
(11:41):
prefer a corner like I because I remember a conversation
I had with j C. Horn a few years ago,
who's turned into a really good, you know, corner with
the Carolina Panthers. His dad, Joe Horn, who's obviously an
all Pro wide receiver, you know, with the New Orleans Saints.
When j C was coming out of high school, he
told JC that because he was recruited as an act
to South Carolina, you know, some people to a wide
(12:02):
receiver something like in the corner. Joe Horn was the
guy that told JC, like, you're playing corner in college.
And the reasoning was is he said, a lot of
guys look like you a receiver, not a lot of
guys look like you a corner.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Like.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
There's just less and less and less of those guys,
and that's where the value kind of comes from. And
I believe that with Travis, Like, and it's not that
Travis isn't a good wide receiver, he's a really good
wide receiver. And I think he'll be a good wide
receiver in the NFL and we can have the value
conversation of you know, wide receivers make more money right now,
and what's more impactful A great wide receiver a great
corner Like we can have that conversation. But when I
watch Travis Hunter, I see a real good wide receiver,
(12:35):
but I see it potentially elite corner Like I see
a guy that has rare instincts on the defense side
of the ball, So I prefer him at corner. He
would be cornerback one in this class. I have Luther
Burton as my top ranked wide receiver. Again, I think
he's a little bit overthought. I like a lot of
what Travis does as a wide receiver, but I also
don't think he's incredibly nuanced, Like I think his routes
are a little bit of a work in progress. I don't.
(12:55):
I just don't think he's been coached up enough at
one thing, to be honest, Like, that's kind of the
that's a little bit of the fight back and forth
of development. Right. So I like my receiver, but I
actually do prefer m at corner, which is going to
make this kind of fascinating to see how he turns
out with Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
All Right, what about Travis Hunter's teammates should door Sanders,
who seems like a guy. Ryan roberts that I've seen
him in other mocks that he will not be selected
tonight in the first round. Where do you stand on him?
Speaker 2 (13:23):
I think he'll be selected, but I do think he's
going to fall a little bit in this class. I mean,
there was one time where people thought this was going
to be a one to two conversation, right, and that
Cleveland was just going to take you know, whoever they
prefer between Morgan Sanders, whoever was there. I just the
first and foremost Cleveland and the Giants, which were the
most likely quarterback markets. Originally, they decided to go with
the veteran quarterback route because especially in New York, I
(13:45):
mean that they're general manager and their head coach are
on the last leg and they need to try to
win now. So they went veteran quarterback, which makes a
lot of sense. But after that, it's like New Orleans
at nine. New York Jets are like kind of a
sneaky quarterback team. If they wanted to seven all they
signed justin Fields, but it was only a two year,
forty million dollars deal, so like you know, you could
still take a quarterback if you really wanted to, But
(14:06):
it just doesn't sound like either one of those teams
is like that interested in Shadoor, right. I think the
one team that makes a lot of sense for him
is the Steelers. Steelers pick at twenty one. Do they
feel thrazed by someone trying to get in front of them,
you know, maybe going back into the first round to
try to get Shador whoever that team is, or do
they stick at twenty one and hope he's there. I
think the Steelers are the most likely scenario for a
(14:28):
shod or Sanders. My question is is whether they can
wait it out to twenty one and take them there,
or if they have to move it up to secure
their quarterback potentially?
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Do you think if you if you're betting right now,
you sound like me. You sound like you're a gambling man.
I heard you mentioned some gambling reference there, Ryan Roberts,
if you are betting, yep, five years from now, Ryan
Roberts on MJ in the midday or maybe I won't
be in the midday, maybe I'll be in another part
of the day, but regardless, you'll be on my show
because I think you're great. Okay, who's going to be
(14:56):
a better quarterback Jackson Dart or should do our singers
five years from.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Now, Man Shood or Sanders. For me, personally, I don't
dislike I don't dislike Jackson Dart. I do think that
the Jackson Dart hype has kind of reached a little
bit of a crazy level. And I honestly like the
should war stuff to begin with was a little bit
crazy to like we should not have been projecting into
the ATAP five draft pick in my opinion. But Jackson
(15:22):
Dart I like a lot of what he is. I
think he's tough in the pocket, he's pretty decent against pressure,
and I think he's a pretty good athlete. I just
see really modest tools from a passing perspective, Like I
just the arm stream I think is average at best
for NFL standards. I think he's really late on his reads,
and honestly that's not his faults. I mean that's just
kind of the offense he comes from, Like you don't
have to be like super a super anticipatory thrower in
(15:44):
a Lane Kippen offense. You just kind of have to
read one to get to two and you're done. You know,
like it's really not a complicated offense at all, which
I think kind of hurts his development a little bit.
But I just I think that both of those I
think dark more than Sanders, and Sanders will get over
dressed a little bit because I don't think he's a
true top twenty NFL draft pick in this class. But
I do think that Dart has the potential to be
(16:04):
overdrafted more than should Or. And if that is the case,
a couple of the teams that I've heard that had
interest in Dart, like a New York Giants, potentially drain
him back into the back in a Round one. I
think that that would be he would be put into
a really tough situation in a couple of things that
I've heard him kind of being associated with. Opposed to
if shad Or lands with the Pittsburgh Steelers, I feel
(16:26):
pretty good about that, you know. I mean, they've had
three coaches in like the last sixty years, Like they
are a very very consistent program obviously, right, so fit
is going to matter. But I do think fit, combined
with just kind of what I'm hearing and who I
value a little bit more as a player, I would
take standards in that.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Debate, Ryan Roberts, what's the thing that's intrigues you the
most when you are waiting for the draft to start
eight o'clock Eastern, five o'clock Seattle time tonight. What's the
thing that you are just like, man, I'm really interested
a player a team, but like your top maybe just
(17:01):
one or three most intriguing storylines going into tonight.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
So I think Ashton genty first and foremost, the running
back out of Boise State is a very interesting storyline
because he's been now linked a lot to Jacksonville the
last couple of days to pick number five. And initially
I'm like, I don't know if I believe that, but
I've kind of done a lot of digging on it,
and I do believe that Ashton Gent is going to
go number five. My question right now, though, is whether
(17:29):
it'll be Jacksonville picking him at five, because apparently there's
some interest from like the Chicago Bears at ten to
potentially trade up to get an Ashton Gents potentially. I mean,
we'll see what happens about. So that's one for sure.
I think the big wild card is really for me,
it's Carolina at eight that is one team right now
for me that I have. I have almost no idea
(17:50):
what they're gonna do. To be honest, the first seven
picks there might be a player or two associated with
each spot. But I have like kind of a decent
idea of what I think is gonna happen, right. I
think I've had enough conversations with people read between the lines,
piecing things together, like I think I can understand one
through seven pretty well. Eight with Carolina, I have no idea, Like,
I really don't like Jalen Walker is the guy that
(18:11):
people talk about from Georgia who makes some sense for them.
There's been some Walter Nolan noise from Ole Miss recently,
there's been some Tenor Row and McMillan conversation like they
are a team that has just had so many different
players associated with them rumored to them. I really don't know.
So Carolina at eight, what's gonna happen there? And then
most The biggest thing that I'm looking forward to, and
(18:32):
I have no idea about this either, is a lot
of people are now saying that there's gonna be a
lot of trade movement in this draft, and not necessarily
in the top ten, but just like, overall, I don't
buy that, and I'm very interesting if I'm right or
wrong about that, because typically what makes people trade up
it's elite players and it's quarterbacks. This class does not
have a lot of true first round grades. It's pretty
(18:52):
light up top. It's very good up top for the
players they have, but it's not deep as far as
like that pure elite depth at the top, not a
not a very deep class at top. And then also
the quarterback class isn't very good this year either, So
I'm very curious to see if people are right about
that trading because typically what makes trades is what this
draft actually doesn't have a lot of, which is super interesting.
(19:12):
So a couple of things that's probably more of a
nerdy one on the teslat Like I'm a little obsessive
over this stuff, so I find that super interesting. Maybe
the listeners won't, but I'm just really interested to see
how much movement happens in the first night of the draft.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Ryan Roberts, So I'm gonna leave you with this. You
just say you agree or disagree, give me one two
you know reply sentence on this. The NFL Draft to me,
is better than Super Bowl Sunday.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Oh, I mean for me, yeah, absolutely, yeah, right, you know.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
It's for real fans, the real fans tonight. This is
this is Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza all rolled in one. Okay,
this is everything I say.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yeah, I mean, I'll say this for like the fans perspective.
Not every fan bass created equal obviously as far as expectations,
but like, this is one three day stretch of the
year where most fan bases have a lot of hope,
you know, like they can they can dream. They're like,
we got this player. Now we're heading in a different direction.
We're gonna flip the momentum here. So I love this
(20:13):
week because obviously, like it's a culmination of work and
evaluations and a lot of skying reports. But like on
the fan side of things, this is a this is
a three day span where you think that, like, hey,
this is the step that my organization needs, and I
think that they can take that step into the future.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Ryan Roberts say is Esports fall him on Twitter, Ryan,
I appreciate your time and we look forward. We're gonna
get you on Let's let's do a recap next week
and where you know, obviously this is something people give
out grades. You never know because until they play on
the field on Sundays, how someone's gonna be. But just
obviously paper grades, it's what we do. So let's let's
(20:48):
reconnect next week. Okay, sounds good, brother, Thank you so
much for your time. No, thank you, thank you very much.

him on First Take again or any ESPN program for
that matter. Now is streaming deal. It's a whole nother story.
We don't know what's gonna go on there. But accused
(22:40):
of rape for the third time since twenty ten. Corporate sponsors,
they don't like that sort of thing. That's not something
that so.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Man.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
So a lot of things going on right now, and
obviously the NFL draft takes precedence over everything.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
But just some news.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
But again, if if you're just joining us, the son
of Gilbert Rince, Eliza Rehnas in an induced coma after
a horrific accident cyber truck got totaled. I mean, I
just pray that this kid makes it through. We all do,
all right? We saw off there, Christopher kid. What do
we got from the three six?
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Oh? For the Seahawks? This is they're wishless first round pick.
I want defensive tackle Alfred Collins or edge Donovan.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
E Yeah, right, Donovinie from vos A coxactly would be
okay with.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
Also guard Tyler Booker. Those are that's the Wistlers. They
would be okay with any of those three.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
He's the one guy. And I know we talked to
some person that said, at Booker is he scares me? Booker,
He's got a little bit of I don't know what
it is. Was it Hugh or someone I talked to,
and it planted a seat in my mind about Booker,
And I just don't know. From the two OHO six,
(23:58):
biggest see draft buss has to be Dan McGuire. The
Scouts GM wanted Brett Favre, but the owner, Ken Barring, said, no,
I want McGuire. He was enamored of his arm. Now, hey,
back then it was That's what it was the year
before McGuire, it was Jeff George.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Everyone was seduced by the big arm, that big.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Arm, but yeah, it didn't work out. And then that's
why they were drafting two years later number two overall
and they took Rick Meyer, who also was.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
A bust from the three six to so defensive tackle
is not a luxury pick Byron Murphy.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Is jag? Is a jag?
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Just another guy to quote MJ in the Midday.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
I'm not gonna say he's a jag yet, but I'm.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
Definitely not a jag. When you go back and watch
his game, Yeah he was money. He missed a month
with that hamstring injury, unfortunately, but when he was playing
a lot of the running plays that were blown up
because of the linebackers or Devin Witherspoon flashing his greatness,
Barron had a lot to do with that. He might
not have had an impact with his numbers, he didn't
(25:11):
have ten sacks, nine tackles for loss, but he definitely
played a vital He was definitely a vital piece of
that defense. As to why they improved in the second half,
for sure.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
One of the guys I should have mentioned, and you
know this is old school, but a lot of people
have texted on the text line Brian Bosworth from the
two five to three no question and as far as
the twenty twenty five gotta go o line, I don't
care about the hype. I care You've been terrible for
fifteen years. End quote. But Brian Bosworth, oh.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Boy, oh boy.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Harold Reynolds, who came on with us a few weeks ago,
talked about how he was at that game against the
La Raiders at the time and Bo Jackson literally ended
his career on one Monday night football game at the Kingdome.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Last one from me is from the two to oh
six worst draft pick of all time for the Seahawks
to me Meli McDowell, because that kicked off a series
of events that led the skipping on Buddha Baker at
the next pick, the Carrol sale on the defensive line
that included Jadavian Clowney, Carlos Dunlap, et cetera, including draft
picks that were expended on that, and if we would
(26:22):
have picked up Baker, do we the Seahawks need Jamal
Adams and everything that went to that. I think it
is the worst single move in the Seahawks history.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Let's say something. Okay, No, it's really good. I got it.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
There's a couple more I want to get into. Owen
Gill running back nineteen eighty five. See, I don't have
no running backs because Warrener was hurt and he still
couldn't make the team. Russ's Russell Wilson's ex was a
fan of Golden Tate. If you know what I mean? Okay,
I see what you mean. How about this? This is
(27:01):
the funniest thing for the two five three. If the
Hawks takes Schaduur, I'm converting to be a forty nine
Ers fan. Schneider's going defense book. It from Larry and
it's in six' two. Three John schneider should put a
job on the line and Pay cleveland's price to move
up to two and Take Travis, hunter even if it
(27:21):
makes Taking Deshaun watson off their. Hands, no, no, okay, Listen
i'm all in On Travis hunter coming To. SEATTLE i
would give up two second round in a third, round
or maybe a second round in two third round For Travis.
Hunter i'm not taking To Shaun. Watson you take on that?
(27:41):
Contract are you kidding? Me there's no fan WAY i
Want Deshaun watson's career pretty much looks like it's, over absolutely.
Over Ben, uh that's a good, one, Bet i'm not
(28:01):
going to read that one on the. Air fun, fact
for the first time since nineteen sixty, seven every team
owns their original first round pick going into the draft
should be a lot of fireworks and two five three three,
Six so TWO o. Six Aaron, Curry Aaron, Curry Aaron,
CURRY i would say in recent, scene he's the recent
(28:24):
scene would have to Be Aaron. Curry So i'll go with.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
That ooh oh Oh Michael porter listed is.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
Questionable oh, oh, well if that's the case And Michael
porter does not, play they're not starting until about seven,
hours that is off.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
The board for.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Me Mikes Russell, Westbrook, no, no, no, YEAH i.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
DON'T i was waiting for you, smile give me that beautiful,
smile that smile that your wife married you from right
and the handsome. Smile i'm waiting like, No, CHRIS i do. Not,
No Michael porter, questionable do, not do, not do not
take the. Nuggets If Michael porter does not, play do.
NOT i am already taking myself off the hook on.
(29:11):
That BUT i will tell you. This take The. Pistons
take The pistons to beat The knicks. Tonight don't even
need the. Points just take The pistons to. Win those
are the what do you? Say texts of the? Day
oh one more from the start nineteen seventy, six but
losing faith In schneider all time.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Busts don't Forget dan McGuire And Rick.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Meyer meyer, played but as the number two overall pick
here he. SUCKED i Agree hugh told, me WHICH i
could not. Believe but If Hugh millan said it was,
right THEN i believe. Him That Rick meyer was the
rookie of the, year WHICH i couldn't. Believe i'm like Over,
(29:49):
bledsoe like Over Drew, blair Because Drew bledsoe came in
the league out of you, know like was. Unbelievable by the,
Way i'm gonna actually take. This let me see. Here,
no you're wrong on that. ONE i didn't think he
was the rookie of the, year AND i had to
check it just to make. Sure NOW i was also
(30:10):
wrong On. Bledsoe bledsoe was not the rookie of the.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
Year it Was how about this? One jerome bettis La
rams running.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Back that worked out for him right my. Career, YEAH
i would say. So, YEAH i would definitely say. So
and by the, way in case any of you people
here In seattle Before Super bowl forty didn't, know did
you Know Jerome bettis is From? Detroit they didn't say
that enough in the two weeks going into that. Game
Jerome bettis is From. Detroit by the, way in case
(30:42):
you didn't, know.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
So Hugh, MILLEN i give you that doubt a.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
LOT i thought it Was, bledsoe you thought it Was i'm,
like there's no Way Rick meyer Won rookie of The.
Year there's no. Way AND i Thought bledsoe, did but
it Was Jerome. Bettis neither one of them Won rookie
of The. Year Like Blake meyer was a really big.

Involved In Super Bowl, sunday and this is every single
not JUST nfl, team but it is all the hopes

Made you, know they always say we're about to get to.
Speaker 1 (34:05):

spoiling it for a. WHILE espn had to stop doing
it because they were spoiling.
Speaker 7 (34:10):
It, well you could see the kid pick up a,
phone especially.

a done.
Speaker 6 (34:28):
Deal But i'm really happy for him with the way
his career worked. Out he you, KNOW i could go
on forever about the way that he toggled between offensive.
Coordinators he came there with, one that guy left to
become the head coach Of North texas.
Speaker 7 (34:42):
And then you, know he gets this twenty seven.
Speaker 6 (34:44):
Year old who comes in who's what like four years
older than him and then is, Like i'm going to
be a magician. Here i'm going to be a mad
scientist with the. Offense so he didn't have. STRUCTURE i
think going To, MIAMI i did not fold him for that.
WHATSOEVER i thought it was a really good move for,
him And i'm really excited for his.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Future what about mit here In oklahoma playing for the
Former wazoo offensive.
