Morning Drive with Christy Live on demand.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm Christie.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Producer Karina is chilling right here. Thanks for listening this
Friday morning. Have you heard of the new movie Freaky Tales.

Speaker 4 (00:13):
Yes, it's based off of rapper two Short's song right lies? Wait?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Lies? What do you mean?

Speaker 3 (00:23):
So there is a brand new movie called Freaky Tales.
It's out today or actually it's out.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
I went last night to a premiere in the town.
Roll up to the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland. First
of all, it smells like the bay If you were
to pick a smell for the Bay Area, what would
that smell be?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Garbage? If I'm picking it like garbage for you, the
Devil's let us. Oh oh, I didn't think about that.
It's Oakland. It's too Short.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Let's go okay, little little sticky icky green. So go
inside the theater and I'm thinking this is a documentary
about Too Short, who is a local Bay Area rapper
from Oakland. It is so not a movie about Too Short.
So the first scene starts, Everyone's excited. It's a special
town experience premiere of Freaky Tales. The movie starts and

(01:12):
I'm like, okay, it's great, and you know how you
know a movie is gonna be like scary. There's always
a scene with like some teenagers kind of hanging out,
and then you know things are about to switch up. Yeah,
let me tell you. It switched up on me so quick. Really,
you know, I do not do the scary movie, Christy.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
You won't even watch a trailer. You don't not mess
with scary stock.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
I had my eyes closed during the trailers because there
was a scary movie that's getting ready to come out
with Michael B.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Jordan.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I think it's called Sinners or something, and that's scary.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
And I was like, okay, but yeah, oh my god,
the whole movie, Christy is a scary kind of not
the whole movie, not the whole movie, but it is
definitely given Quentin Tarantino for the start of the movie,
no way, and I was not ready.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
I was thinking, this is a documentary about a rapper.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
I knew it wasn't a documentary. Man.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
They started slicing and dicing. I told my friend Paul,
I was like, I'm gonna have to go. Did you
walk out? I? Sure did you did? And then I said, okay,
let me try and try and see if I can
stick around, and I'm glad I did.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
It was a great movie.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
It's really cool because it was all filmed in Oakland,
every single piece of it. And it's nice to see
all the different parts of Oakland. And everyone was cheering like,
oh the leg oh Grand Lake Theater, Oh, all these
cool places in Oakland. But let me just tell you,
Freaky Tails is not about a rapper.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Oh now, I'm really gonna go see it because if
it's like corn cutting up people, I'm signing up.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
See wow.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
And if you want a closer look at producer Karina
and why she is the way she is, coming.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Up, We're gonna take a look at Karina's family.

radio soap.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
OPRAA Karina's family drama.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
In our last episode, Karna's sister Cindy has decided to
give the family the silent treatment because she wasn't invited
out to the Chinese.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Food restaurant with the rest of them. And now the
family ties are strained even further.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
All because my dad Jon almost got our dog, Banita
dog knapped.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Wait what a couple of weeks ago?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Man, he almost killed Benita by giving her big chunks
of meat. Banita is Karina's little Chihuahua. Yeah, but now
what happened?

Speaker 4 (03:58):
So on Sunday, I went walking with my parents and
on twn Banicia huh, and I took Benita the first half.
On the way back towards the car, I said, Dad,
take Banita because she's slowing me down. He said, okay,
So my mom and I walk back to the car.
And then later on, after a couple of minutes, I
see my dad walking towards me, but no Banita.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Wait, what do you I'm not Idiita.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
It turns out that as my dad was walking back
towards the car, he went inside a bakery to go
get some baguettes, but he had tied Banita up in
the front of the bakery and then forgot.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
He completely forgot that he had her. He thought I
had her.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
So I see my dad walking towards the car, why not, like, Dad,
where's Banita?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
And here goes my.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Mom, yoni la PERITAA where's the dog?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Where's the dog? And he's like, uh oh. So he
had to walk all the way back to.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
The bakery, and poor Banita was still, luckily, thank god,
tied up to a chair.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Oh my god, I know.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
I was like, how did you not realize that she
wasn't with you? I don't have her chip, but I
think I'm gonna put Apple AirTags on her.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
And my dad might not be a bad idea. Wan
forgot the dog and now he's the one begging for forgiveness.
Will Karina throw him a bone or leave him out
in the cold the doghouts. You'll find out next week
on another episode.

Ohio where a teacher, Stephanie dimitri is wanted to teach her.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Kid a life lesson. A life lesson yep, in.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Murder a substitute teacher at that Come on, this forty
four year old woman who was married and clearly was
not feeling her husband, offered a student two thousand dollars
to take her husband out. And I don't mean out
on a date, I mean off her husband.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah, this is insane.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
This teacher gave the student a two hundred and fifty
dollars down payment, and then the student, of course, goes
home tells his mom, Hey, the substitute asked me to basically,
you know, kill her husband for her.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
What do you think I should do?

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Maybe we should call the cops mom, and that's exactly
what they did.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
What are you thinking? She wasn't thinking that's the thing.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Come on, she should have just gone to hire a
hitman dot com.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Dude.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
This is the site that gets people every single time,
and you always hear about the craziness. People go to
this website thinking, oh, I'm gonna hire a hitman dot
com and of course they get arrested. But what would
make you think a student is gonna Oh no, I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
I want to know did she get a refund on
that two hundred and fifty?

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Morning Drive with Christy Lye on Classic Kids one oh
three point seven. It's time for the great debate.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Is it rude for someone to be all up on
their speaker phone or facetiming people in public? Or we'll
go ahead and go one further talking to somebody random
on their earbuds because people do that now a day.
So here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we do the
Great Debate, ask a question that relates to life, and

(08:20):
this is something we've all had to deal with. Okay,
I was getting my nails done and this woman walked
in the salon was pretty quiet, so I shore Alameda
and she gets on the phone with her sister and
they were talking about her sister's new baby.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
How do I know that?

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Because I can hear the whole conversation, and I was
thinking to myself, is that rude?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
It's annoying?

Speaker 3 (08:41):
But is that rude? Because if her sister was technically
sitting next to her, it would be okay for her
to have a conversation with her sister. But that is
the question for this morning's Great Debate. Do you think
it's rude to talk on speaker phone or FaceTime in public?

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Heck yeah, one hundred percent. I think it's no common
sense and it's rude to the people around you and
the people that you're dealing with. Chrissy say at the
nail salon, maybe the nail tech doesn't want to hear
all that. I mean, I love to hear about your business.
I am an eusy person.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
You are. I love to hear about the business.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
But what if her sister was sitting right next to her.
It's the same thing. What do you think?

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Is the question?

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Though?

Speaker 3 (09:24):
One eight sixty six nine hundred one o three seven.
You can always tap the red microphone if you're on
our free iHeartRadio apps and a talkback. Is it rude
to talk on speakerphone or FaceTime in public in twenty
twenty five or is that just the way we communicate
these days? Quit hayten, jump in for this morning's Great Debate.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Hear from you next.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Back to the Great Debate Classic Kids one oh three
point seven?

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Is it rude to talk on speaker phone or FaceTime public?
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday? Do a new question in
the Great Debate?

Speaker 2 (10:09):
What do you think? Russ?

Speaker 8 (10:10):
The speaker thing is like, okay, you want everybody to know,
you know, whatever the conversation is out. You don't want everybody
to know this hunk. And I really hate face timing
in public. It's like, especially in both its like don't
really have to look at you on talking to you?
Can you just get your stuff cause I'm I'm talking
when I get home.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
So you're a hard past. It is definitely rude.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Okay, Russ, thank you I'll note that vote. Good morning, Raymond.
Do you think using speakerphone in public is rude?

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Yeah, it's rude. And I'll give you an example, Packed
Fell Park opening day two thousand, Packed park and the
guy next to me is on a cell phone and
I thought, you know what we are I supposed to do?
Forgive him or punch him out.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Hopefully you didn't do that.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Thank you all, don't your vote, love your show, bye.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Thanks for being a part of it. Where do you
stand on this morning's great debate? Is it rude to
talk on speakerphone or FaceTime in public?

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Got a talk back from our app.

Speaker 9 (11:16):
Good morning ladies. I think that it is okay. You
should be able to have a conversation with whoever you
are on the phone. Maybe keep your tone down so
you're not disturbing anybody. But you know, if it's a
library or a movie or somewhere else that you're gonna
be kept quiet. Yeah, I understand take it outside. But
she's getting her nails done for crying out loud. It's

(11:36):
not a big deal. So anyway, that's my take on it.
Thank you, have a great day.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Thank you so much for the talk back. Always love
it when you're a part of the show. You can
always tap the red microphone on our free iHeartRadio app
and join the Great Debate. Do you think it's rude
to talk on speakerphone or FaceTime in public? Or is
it just like talking to a friend who would be
normally sitting right next to you. Anyways, jump in join

(12:04):
the fun. Hear from you next on Classic Kid fall
back to the.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Great Debate Classic Kids one oh three point seven.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yeah, oh my god, I kid.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Yeah right, yeah, you know, that's what people do when
they're talking on speakerphone in public.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
That is the question. Is it rude though?

Speaker 3 (12:24):
When people are doing it, Michael, it depends.

Speaker 8 (12:28):
On how disruptive they are, Okay, Because if somebody is
talking on the phone, they sit down in a corner
and are just talking in a regular voice, that's okay.
It's when they start talking about and everybody knows if
they're trying not to know.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Okay, Okay, that's fair because that's to me. I'm like,
that's how people communicate now. And like I said, if
someone was sitting right next to you, you'd still be talking.
You wouldn't be yelling at them, but you would be
talking to them. Okay, I'll note that vote they Michael Angel,
what do you think is it rude to talk on
the speakerphone in public?

Speaker 5 (13:04):
No?

Speaker 10 (13:05):
I don't like them. First of all, I am not
trying to be part of your conversation. Second, I don't
want to hear anything about it. And it's just rude
because it's loud and in a brit lay. I'm listening
even if I don't want to, or even that don't
mean to. And it is just disrupt especially to carry
on a long conversation on the speaker phone if I

(13:26):
come on, No.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Am I the only nosy person.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
In the bank?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
I really are?

Speaker 3 (13:31):
She's more than like you know, I just don't How
do you say nark in Spanish?

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Because that's who you are? Narco? Is that no different?
Something different? Okay, okay, hold on, we.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Gotta talk about, oh dear, Is it rude to talk
on the speakerphone?

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Is it rude talking to speaker phone? Christie and Korea.

Speaker 11 (14:03):
This is Keith from VALLEYO in regards today's great debate.
Talking on your speakerphone in public is rude? It's a no. No,
I don't want to hear your conversation. That's tween you
and that person. Nobody want to know all your business.
Why are you doing that? It's just wrong and just rude.
So no, no, no, no, do not talk on speakerphone
in public.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Do that in private.

Speaker 11 (14:24):
Have a great day, ladies.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Happy Friday. Man baby, Like, hey, you know that's my hood.
So I'm just saying, like.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
So what people said for this morning's.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Great Christie, everyone said, it's rude. Please don't be talking
on your speakerphone in public.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
It's just rude unless you can do it in an
inside voice.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Yeah, and most people can't do that.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Okay, Christy's living loud.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
And speaker proud because you love you're all the gossip.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Okay, I'm sorry, sorry, back to the music.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
In thirty seconds, Classic Kids, one of three point seven.
Time to play give Me five.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
We got Ann stepping up to the plate today to see.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
If she could take down Adam shout out to his family.
I'm gonna give you a category. Put ten seconds on
the clock. You just have to give me five things
in that category. In ten seconds. You will be the
new Gimme five champion as we start this weekend. Okay,
oh my gosh, I love that energy.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
That's a good sign I have faith in you.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Clock starts when I say go play along with an
if you're in your car, give me five eighties cartoons.

Speaker 10 (15:39):
Go Tom and Jerry, uh Deptails, Hundercaps, Oh.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Oh my gosh one, the Jetsons, see Van Schira, Jim.
She's truly outrighted. You could have shouted out the teenage
mutant Ninja Turtles.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Oh man.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
You still get locks of love for playing though, and
I appreciate it. Adam, you are still the champ. As
we head into the weekend and coming up in nine
point forty, teachers are supposed to teach kids life lessons,
but not like this. You're Crazy news on the way,
