He admits that he's not the greatest guitar player, but
he lets his voice carry him.

And I mean, I was so familiar with singing and
was so comfortable with my voice, and that I could
go out and play guitar for someone and play guitar horribly,
but I knew that if I sang good enough, nobody
would care how bad my guitar playing was. And it
really worked out for me.
