Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to quad City Forum, a weekly community service program
produced by iHeartMedia to look at the issues and opportunities
that exist in our community. Now here's your hosts for
a quad City Forum, Pat Luke and danny Lynn Howe.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Brooke Hendricks from Every Child, vice president of Development and
Communication on the phone today. And if for the people
involved in this conversation, the three of us, not only Brook, myself,
Pat Luke and danny Lyn Howe, if it seems familiar,
it's because we did this the day before. And I'm
a team player. Yeah, I'm a team player. Yes you are.
I'm all over about being a team But when it's

(00:39):
my fault, I tend to not I want to blame
my fingers, appointing at everybody else, the technology. Just blame
the technology. Hit yes one, I should have hit no.
And that's my problem. But Brooke, thank you for coming
on and talking to us again today about all the
great things with every Child and of course every Child.
It's an inclusive name, but it's a name some people

(01:01):
may not know what you guys do.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah, so first of all, I have also hit the
wrong button. I get it. Also, Yes, it seems like
the right answer.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
It does. It throws me off, But again, I'd like
to get off of this embarrassing situation and let's talk
about it. An important to an important organization with every Child.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Yes, so Every Child has been part of the Quad
Cities community for almost fifty years. We changed our name
about three years ago to Every Child. It used to
be Child Abuse Counsel. We were just looking for something,
like you said, more inclusive of the programs that we do.
Most of our programs are preventive programs, so most of

(01:48):
most of what we deal with is not child abuse neglect,
it's preventing child abuse in neglect. So we want families
that come to us to know that that they're not
there because their child's been abuse, are neglected. They're there
because it's okay for parents to seek support, and it's
okay for the community to seek support.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Well, how many and how many times to parents? Now
this is even a Diana and I my wife, Diana
and I. We've had five kids that we raised. Danny,
you've had two daughters, beautiful daughters, but nobody knows what's
going in. There's no book. There's no book. And even
when you get to the third and the fourth or
more kids. You still are always feeling like you're on

(02:31):
an island.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yep, it's a whole new book every time.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah it is. But a lot of great things that
you guys are going to be doing in the coming days.
One of them is coming up on Tuesday, which is
normally known as April fools Day, but it's also a
giving day and that they'll play right in with every
child that people want to help.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah, So Tuesday is the start of April, and April
is child abuse prevention months, and for child Abuse Prevention Month,
we like to kick off the month with a giving Tuesday,
which just so happens to be April first this year,
which is a really nice fit for us. And then
we also you'll start seeing pinwheels popping up all over

(03:15):
the community. So April first is also our very first
pinwheel garden.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
And for people and for people that with the pinwheel there,
they are blue pin wheels and why why the blue pinwheel?
Will people get in trouble if they put a red
pinwheel up or have a big garden or is this
what's his significance with the blue pin wheels?

Speaker 3 (03:37):
No one will get in trouble for putting up other
colors of pin wheels, but blue is the color for
a child abuse prevention month. And then the blue pinwheel
is a symbol of healthy, happy, joyful, kind of care
free childhoods that we want for every child in our community.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
This is fantastic. So it starts where on Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Davenport Police Department will have the first Pinwell garden and
that ceremony starts at ten thirty. The Pinwell Garden ceremonies
last about fifteen to twenty.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Minutes and then when so obviously it's not just a
Davenport there, but will they be springing up the rest
of the month.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yes, we have six big pinwheel gardens in the area,
saying the Ambrose University will have one at their children's campus,
the Rock Island County Children's Advocacy Center has one, There'll
be one down at the Musketine County Courthouse because we
have services there, one at the Rock Island County Courthouse,
and then the Mullian Police Department we'll have one kind

(04:42):
of to wrap up the big planting ceremony.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah, it's great and if people want to take part
in this, and this was getting back to how this
conversation sounds. The same as yesterday when we taped it.
I remember bringing this up where I thought would if
people want to be a part of it, they could
start at their own pinwheel garden and maybe send a
picture off to the website.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yep, absolutely, and we will have besides those big gardens
we have I think nineteen smaller gardens popping up. Wow,
like Skip Skip along South Park Psychology. We've got ye
all over the quad Cities. So yes, absolutely, if you
want to plant your own pin wheels and then send
us a picture, you can send that to me on

(05:24):
email and my emails on our website.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Now when people want to help and we talk about
the donations that they could do, is there a way
for people to maybe volunteer with Every Child?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yes. Actually, one of our programs is very much volunteer based.
It's our court appointed special Advocates, So they are volunteers
that work with kids in the foster care system kind
of helping to be their eyes and ears and being
helping that child find their voice in the court system.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Mm hmm okay. And again they can find out more
at the web site which.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Is for every Child dot org. It's f o R
Everychild dot org.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Got it?

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Now the month itself is big, not only with the
giving Tuesday, and then as the other things that will
happen tied into every child through the month of April,
and people can get a job. Even though we push
a lot or put an emphasis on April, even though
by the time this interview airs it's it's still March.

(06:29):
But any month is a great month to think about
the welfare and just helping out families, supporting families. But
a big event that's happening at the end of the
month is kind and I'm still not sure. Is it gala?
Is it gala? All I know and I see that,
I go it's got to be a big day, yes, And.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
I think that is that is the crux of that word.
Is it shows important? Yes, gala or gala, but no
one knows how to say it.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
So you just go the one route and you just
realize where do where do people have to be if
they want to be a part of it, and namely
right away. I mean I can think of this event
tables if you want to book a table or just
one or two spaces, but also sponsorship. Are they still available?

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yes, yep, we do still have some sponsorships available. And
I guess kind of to back up. Our Child Abuse
Prevention month ends or culminates with the Celebrate Every Child
Gala or gala however you want to say it.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I'm never I'm really never sure. And and again this
is from yesterday's interview. You said it, and I go, Okay,
that's good. But then by it's a new day, and
I'm going, well, I'm not sure, but we just know
where do people have to go to be a part
of this?

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Yep. All all information for the Celebrate Every Child event
is on our website. Tickets are still available, tables are
still available. We do still some sponsorship opportunities open, and
I say some just because some of the bigger like
having the sponsored name on the back of a T shirt,
that's already been done. So some of those bigger options

(08:09):
are the timeline has passed, but always open to sponsors.
And then the event itself is Thursday, April twenty fourth.
This year, we'll be at Rhythm City Casino, starts at
five point thirty. Tickets include Heavier Dirves hosted bar. They'll

(08:32):
be alive in a silent auction. We'll have a wine pole,
and then we have the Moullin High School Chamber orchestra
coming for entertainment, and we'll also have a former client
as our guest speaker.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
That's great.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
Now with the orchestra.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Being there, we're very excited about this.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Here.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Are we going to hear the Molline fight song with
pinkies up?

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:53):
You have to when you're doing it. If you have
an orchestra, you can't do. We are molliners, We're from
Molene without your pinkies up right? I mean, that's it
right now?

Speaker 7 (09:04):
Will you?

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Will you be available to maybe if they ask a
special request to sing them onling fight? So because you
can only sing it if you're an alumni and I don't.
Are you an alumni?

Speaker 3 (09:14):
I am?

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Well, then do you want to say what class? Because
that's always that's you don't want to do the math.
Sometimes I'll say I'm a classes I'm the class of
seventy five, So people automatically go, okay, he's sixty seven
or sixty eight more than likely. But what about you?
What was your class? Or do you decide to lawyer
up on us right now?

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Nope, I'm a very proud alumni class of ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Ninety nine. Wow, I remember nineteen ninety nine was it
good year? Vaguely, but either way, that's it. That's great
to have it. And this is not their first time
that they've been there.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
No, this will be I believe their third year. And
it's really great. Mister Morton, the director and his orchestra group,
they always stay and participate in the live auction and
in those festivities kind of after the entertainment parts over.
So they say they enjoy, they eat, they have a

(10:12):
couple of tables. It's just fun to see. It's a
great way to promote what kids are the positive things
kids are doing in our community, and then also to
get them involved in that philanthropy part of our community.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
And by some of the pictures that we saw in
previous years, I mean big crowds wherever the event is held,
it's always just big stuff. So and they're like you,
I believe you had touched on it. There still is
room for tables or seats or even if you're not
bringing a whole table though, you'll find a way to
get them in there. Do enjoy things, yep. Okay, So

(10:47):
repeating it again, We've got lots of stuff going on
at the website, but If people want to be a
part of the big Gala or gala to wrap things
up at Rhythm City Casino, what do they do? Either
to book a spot, find out about sponsorships, or just
make a donation? Where did they go?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
The easiest spot to go would be to our website,
which is for every child dot org fr everychild dot Org.
There's also a space on our website to just send
an email if you have questions or to contact us.
That goes directly to me. So if you get on
there and you get lost, feel free to fill that out,
send me an email and I can help you.

Speaker 7 (11:28):
Brook.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Thank you again two days in a row. Both interviews
were fantastic. You'll never find the other one, but here
it is. On Brooks day off, she said it was
okay to call her. Thank you. Now, I'll take it
from the next step and make sure that Danny talks
me through this so I don't lose anything. Have a
great weekend and good luck with everything. Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
If you or your organization would like to be featured
on Quad City Forum, please visit the contact page on
our station website.

Speaker 7 (11:55):
Now back to Fat Luke and Danny Linnhowe.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
We have low LV and awally being able to talk
to us here this morning, being able to find some
time in their busy day. And Lolo of course with
the Quad City Veteran Outreach that you can find out
more qc vet Outreach dot com and they're a big
event that's going to be coming in in April that
we're going to have Lola talk about. But Lola, for

(12:22):
the people that see the Quad City Veteran Outreach Center
and they think, first off, they think, oh it must
it's connected to the VA. It's not connected to the VA.
So there's I mean, even though you maybe work with them,
you're constantly also trying to raise money in other sources
and it seems like you've you've got a lot of
people helping you out.

Speaker 6 (12:43):
We sure we are not connected at all. We receive
no state or federal funding. We work very hard each hear,
all our volunteers, our board and everybody including our veterans
to raise funds to cover our costs and everything far overhead.
And in that way we raise funds for that and
all the donations one go towards the center or directly

(13:03):
to take care of all of our veterans needs.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Now when we last talked to you, and I think
it was you had the run walk last year, and
right around that time you were moving into a school
that probably an old school that probably now you can
look in the outline of it and go, yeah, it's
a school, but inside it has completely been transformed since just.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
May it has been. It is a whole different a
whole different atmosphere, and a whole different center. Now it
is all about our veterans from one end to the next.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Now. One of the things, and I talked to one
of the people that work here at the building. In
our building here, Anne Mangren, had said, you can walk
around and you can see like there's a theater for
the veterans. You've also even have something as simple as
a haircut for the vets. They could just maybe come
in there and boom and get whatever they want and

(14:01):
be able to go about their day.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
That is correct. We have a hair salon, we have
a movie room. We have the gym where they can
work out, they can walk, or they can be a
part of our Adaptive Sports, which is our wheelchair program.
We have a weekly grocery mart in there where they
can come in and pick up stuff. But then we
also have a full grocery store on the other side
of the building, which is our monthly grocery and they

(14:25):
come in and get their full groceries each month. We
have all kinds of programs they go on.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
We have our library where we have.

Speaker 6 (14:32):
Our computer corner, we have our DVD exchange. There's resource
programs offered throughout the building. So yes, we have stuff
going on all the time. We have a big new
gift shop in the building, so it's all about meeting
the needs of our veterans and camaraderie. We have a
coffee bar where a lot of them come in and
sit and just talk. And yes, it's all about our

(14:54):
veterans at the center.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
It is amazing just in a few seconds there, how
much you're talking about, how this school you can't even
tell it's a school it was the school at one time,
and how great it is now. For those of you
just tuning in, we're talking to Lola Vanderwally and she
is with the Quad City Veteran Outreach Center. And if
you need to find out more, you know somebody that

(15:16):
would love to be able to stop either. It's at
forty five point fifteen North Fairmont Street in Davenport. You
can find out more to at QC vet Outreach dot
com or you can call them five six three five
two nine four seven eight two. Now, even though we
talked about how you're not connected with the VA directly,

(15:37):
you still have a connection where you're helping or get
to I guess referrals sometimes. But if people want to
help out in some way, shape or form, how can
they donate or volunteer? How can they find out?

Speaker 6 (15:50):
They can go to Qcvetsoutreach dot com. They can also
call us. They can also participate in our events coming up,
the big race coming up in April. We have all
kinds of programs going on. They can come in and
sign up to volunteer, and our newest program is our
Battle Buddy program which started last year. They become a
Battle Buddy of the Center, which includes a monthly donation

(16:13):
and to take care of our veterans needs for the month.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
And you also have something I think this is such
a great thing. It can work on raising a little
bit of money, but also honoring anybody that's serving currently
or has served. Is your Honor Wall? Tell us a
little bit more about that.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Yes, our Honor Wall is where people have purchased plaques
in memory of or in honor of, and they come
in and they get to choose the name, the symbol,
everything they want. And it is now filling our halls
on our bricks with a plaque about a veteran. And
we invite everybody to come and visit the wall in

(16:51):
our Honor Room of all the things that veterans have
brought to us, to see their pictures, their uniforms, everything,
and just come and visit and look at the possibility
of putting up a plaque on the wall. We want
the school full of all the plaques to remember all
of our veterans.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Oh, such a great way to put the spotlight on
deserving people. One other a big funders that's happening in
March is the first time for it. But the Veteran
Outreached Craft and Vendor Show tell us about that.

Speaker 6 (17:21):
It is. Yes, that is a big day for us.
It's going to be a big weekend for us. I
should stay two days of all kinds of vendors coming
in to sell their products and their crafts on the
twenty second and twenty third, and it's free to the public,
and we tell everybody to come in maybe grab a
little lunch and enjoy the day shopping.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
It's going to be fantastic. And of course this probably
is a what do you want to call it? It's
kind of a signal, is how you want the rest
of the year do unfold. Every month there's something going
on to put the spotlight and help out the veterans
and the people in the military off and a big
one is going to be happening in April. You already

(18:00):
alluded to it, but it's the five k and one
mile run and walk, that's correct.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
It's the big run for veterans. On Saturday, April twelfth,
we have the five k in the one mile. It
is a timed race, but people are invited to either
run or walk and participate. This year we have added
a wheelchair division and a K nine division. So if
you have a dog or support dog, or anybody you
want to walk or run with you, please sign them up.

(18:28):
They get medals just like the rest of everybody does.
It'll start at the American Legion in Walcott. The American
Legion there has been a great supporter of the center
and our veterans. They will be cooking for all participation.
All participants after the race, so everybody will get a
meal that's participating and you can also come and make

(18:48):
a donation if you're not even signed up to eat
with our veterans. So we ask everybody to turn out,
sign up, be a part of it, volunteer to help,
or just show up to support. Everybody is a run
to support our veterans.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
It is amazing. Now, hopefully you're not going to be
too busy where you can grab some of that food too.
It seems like you'll be so busy you probably won't
eat at all on April twelve, Probably won't. It's going
to be a great day, okay. So for people that
want to be a part or find out more. Again,
we said the website a few times and said the numbers,
but as we're going out here this morning for people

(19:24):
or is it possible to do tours, but for people
that want to find out more on the great work
that you're doing, not only for the big run in
April or the craft and vendor show that's going to
be coming up in March. How can people find out
more on the great work that you do over at
the Quad City Veteran Outreach Center.

Speaker 6 (19:44):
They can call, but you can come in. You come in,
stop in and visit the center. We would love to
give you a tour the center. We have people there
all the time, so stop in and see us Monday
through Thursday till three o'clock daily and we'll give you
a tour.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Or call.

Speaker 6 (20:01):
Look on the website and we would be at We'd
love to have all the community come and visit.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
If you or your organization would like to be featured
on Quad City Forum, please visit the contact page on
our station website.

Speaker 7 (20:15):
Now back to Pat Luke and Danny linnowe.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Lexi Bowl almost is like a co host to Infinity
and Beyond here with our Quad City Forum CSC Iowa
Northwest Illinois Guildess Club. Now am I getting this right?
Is there a new location up in Clinton?

Speaker 4 (20:34):
No, we actually do outreach out in Clinton quite a bit,
so there's not any location out there, but we do
actually get support groups and then outreach there. So we
go into the cancer centers and we have volunteers to
talk to the patients and let them know of our services,
and we do a support group. If I'm corrected at
the YWCA, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
You know what, I guess what I'm trying to say
to try to cover myself making it look like I
did enough homework on this where Yeah, you're out there,
but that's really what the name CSC Iowa Northwest Illinois
Guildess Club. That just shows even if you don't have
brick and mortar or some sort of a physical presence
in that particular community, you still do outreach to those communities.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Yes, we're out and about everywhere. Even been working on
expanding our reach with the hospitals across the state. So
for those who may not have direct access to us
in the quantities to our physical locations, they can join
our virtual support groups or utilize our.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Resources or education. We have a whole.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Virtual to have actually on our website for those who
may not be able to come directly to us.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
That seems like the perfect time to bring this up.
What is that website? We'll say it more times, but
what is it again?

Speaker 4 (21:43):
BSD Iowa Illinois dot org.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
We talk about Angerer each It still seems like that's
such a great addition to CSC Iowa and Northwest Illinois
Guildess Club.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Yeah, you know, it's actually been such a great program.
We ended last year with almost handing out twelve hundred
years just within from March to December. And just when
we opened this morning. We opened at eight am and
within the first half hour we had two people coming
to get a meal because it's been such a great
resource for so many as they're going through treatment and

(22:14):
navigating their cancer diagnosis. Those meals are of course free
and they don't cost a dollar. It's it's funded by
a grant actually through Steph's Tribe and the Merry Anger
who donates the meals, and it's been a fantastic program
that when we have been upsitted from.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Yeah, the when you talk about Mary, we've we've seen
her husband, you know, Pat ends up getting all the accolades.
They're doing the Hawkeye color stuff with Gary Dolphin. But
Mary has been a big staple, and so is Pat.
I mean, they're great community people, but they're just helping.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
You mentioned Mary's good cooking and you know how Pat's
color analysts for the Hawkeyes. At our live from QC
event coming up next Saturday, so we have a Hawkeye
sand packet, So we have two opening day tickets that
will be auctioned off live and we have assigned football
from Pat Anger. In addition to you know, how great

(23:09):
of a coach's wife, Mary is. They have generously donated
dinner so you can go chat with Mary and Pat
about football, So you get to enjoy Pat, but then
you also get to enjoy Mary's great cooking and you
can talk to her about how much she does for
our community.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
And this is nice too because even if you're not
an Iowa fan and you're an Angerer fan, you could
talk about Illinois football or Iowa State.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
Football because he's past the colt.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yeah, it's just I guess it's another example of the
great work that you guys do.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
Just because you know, Guild us Club is a great
resource for you know, cancer patients and their families, that
doesn't mean you don't reach out to the families and
other kinds of fun ways like the Easter hunt that
the ag hunt that's coming up.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
Yes, so that should be a really fun time to
be able to bring the whole family together to celebrate
start up springs. So it's a free East egg hunt,
will be using seed planning, will have therapy dogs there,
sidewalk talk, and then there will be a fun Easter
egg hunt. All the kids will be divided up by
rooms by age, so even if you know the weather
might be rainy. This is an indoor event that they

(24:15):
can come to and really, you know, just as a
three event and it's fun for the whole family.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
It's kind of and tying it in with birthday that's
a that's never a bad thing either. And again to
find out more on a lot of this stuff, c
sc Iowa Illinois dot org. C sc Iowa Illinois dot org.
Another big event that's coming up, This one has to
be outdoors when this happens. You got the big golf
event that's coming up just a few weeks down the road.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
It's golf for Guild Does. It's gonna be at Palmer
Hills on May second, an eight thirty am shotgun start.
Whether you're a pro or you're an amateur, this is
for everyone. We we really have a fun time with this.
We have sponsors out on the course.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
With games well and how are we doing on on sponsors.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
There are still opportunities to sponsor a hole if anyone's interested,
but we would love to see people begin to register
and get their teams out on the course.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
We actually are over our sponsorship goal.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
I would love to exceed it even more if we
can it all goes to a great cause and support
their no cost services.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Again to find out more on that. Do you want
to do the website or do you want me to
do it?

Speaker 4 (25:20):
Yes see Iowa Illinois.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Last goal.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
I can't say it enough. So we've got all of
that stuff going on, and of course you touched on
it already live from QC. It's Saturday night, April fifth.
How's that progressing.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
It's going well. Our ticket sales are a little lower
than we'd like right now, but we're excited. Nonetheless, it's
a great event to really come out and support the
community and support what we're doing. Since we've seen so
many more people coming through our doors this last year,
we're really excited for the event. We have Fantastic five,
we have Andy Woodhole. It's going to be a great

(25:55):
event and we really can't wait for it.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Well now, for people that want to be a part
of it, now we gather still some tables that they
could grab or if they're worried, well I don't have
a table. That's all right. If you just got two
or three of you, that'll work out too.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Anyone is welcome to join us. It's truly a great
night out whether you're trying to have a night out
or a date night, or you know, just get out.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
And support the cause.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
Comparach with your ticket dot Csciowa Illinois dot org, slash
live and like I said, we'll have live music, entertainment,
ticket includes food and really such a great time.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
And you know what, we.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
Actually have such a great live auction this year. We
have a costly jukebox coming in and then we also
have Indiana Fever tickets where Caitlyn Clark and Kate Martin
will hit the court again, just this time as rivals.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Wow, that's fantastic.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
We have been very fortunate and we're really excited. But
if anyone's interested in those items, they do have to
be in person to bid on those.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Okay, there's always a catch, but that's a good kind
of a catch to have. Now, where's the event at.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
It will be at the Waterfront Center and Bettendor. Okay,
the door's open at six pm and then our program
will start at seven and the comedians should be on
buy about eight fifteen.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
We talk about the reach, we talk about Anger Eats,
the golf event, the egg Hunt live from the QC.
There has to be something else going on. LEXI, have
we missed anything in our talk today.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Yes, we have our Run for Hope on June twenty
eighth at the Rock in Cole Valley. This is a
great event. Whether you're a runner, a walker, or you know,
maybe you just want a cool T shirt.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
That's all right, a lot of people do love collecting
those T shirts. But it'll start at the Rock and
you've promised us because I remember last year you had
said this is an easy course. I don't know if
you really checked it out yourself or you're just taking
somebody's word for it. But for people to want to
run in the fight against cancer, and just for the

(27:55):
families and the people that have been have had to
deal with cancer first, you know firsthand. How can people
be a part of this?

Speaker 4 (28:03):
Right now, they can visit Dsdilillinois dot org slash run
and our registrations open. It's such a great event. Maybe
you've had somebody impacted by cancer, or maybe they've lost
somebody or they're currently going through it. We actually have
the option to become a team, so they put a
team together and we have the biggest Team award for

(28:25):
family and corporations. But also they can help become an
ambassador for US, and we'll have a highest Fundraiser award too,
So maybe one of those teams wants to fundraise to
support our services directly, they can do that also. And
then we'll have awards. I believe they start at the
fifteen if I'm correct, and then we have those broken

(28:45):
into every five years, so we really do have some
great awards. And then we also serve breakfast afterwards, and
we'll have a Coal Valley Creek Gold which is beer,
and we'll have that afterwards for anyone who there's the
race to run.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
You gotta have your own bell, you gotta have a
yeah walker run and the beer you gotta have a
beer to hang your hat on with that too. Is
there any openings for sponsorships now?

Speaker 4 (29:12):
Yes, we have a variety of sponsorships open. Just to
be on the back of the shirt. It's only one
hundred fifty dollars. It's great brand exposure and you know,
it's a great way to support our services, and we
have we have quite a few different sponsorship availabilities still
open and if anybody's interested, they can email me directly
at Lexi at Csciowa Illinois dot org or visit our

website at Csseiowa, Illinois dot org.
