Breaking news. It's Rock and Robin'snews Flash. News Flash on Madison's Classic
rock were one point five IBAFM.We're off funny back to work Monday and
news fill the weekend. Let's getto recamp in see what else is going
on Rock and Robin Colbert, She'swith us for news Dot thirteen. Ten
wyba am, Robin, how areyou doing? Just fine? Kick off

(00:23):
to the new week, and somepretty big news from President Biden. Actually,
i'd say a bombshell yesterday, announcingthat he was discontinuing his run for
the White House and endorsed Vice PresidentKamala Harris. Now, late last week
we got word that Harris was goingto be in Milwaukee tomorrow for a campaign
event. And of course is thatstill going to happen? And yes,

(00:48):
according to one of her close aides, telling The Journal Sentinel that yeah,
that campaign appearance in Milwaukee that isstill ago. So yeah, we'll wait
and see. She of course,is speaking today. And President Biden has
been kind of hidden away as herecovers from COVID. I mean it's not
completely a shocker, you know, the calls for him to step aside had

(01:11):
just been increasing and increasing. Itwas. He seemed to be though defiant
to the last second, even intoSunday morning, if you watch the Sunday
talk shows and all that sort ofstuff, and then boom, I think
the big guy made a phone call. I think Barack Obama called him and
said, hey, you got togo. Oh there's no, there's That's

(01:33):
kind of a reason why many believethat Biden was hanging around longer than what
others would have liked to him towould have liked him to have done,
because back in twenty sixteen, andof course at the time he had lost
his son bo but he had beenkind of passed over for Hillary, and
there was still some bad blood therewith Biden and Obama. They were all

(01:59):
smiles and yuck it up on thecampaign trail. But oh yeah, but
it's yeah, unless I don't know, later this afternoon he says fool jah
and changes his mind. He's notgoing to change his mind. But and
it's not a given that Kamala Harriswill be the Democratic nominee, strongly suspected,

(02:19):
but it would be easier that way, sure, But we're just going
to have to wait and see howthis plays out. A CNN poll of
polls average showing that Donald Trump hasa forty eight to forty seven percent lead
over Harris. Well, they've beendoing this leading up to you know,

(02:40):
just as he yeah, okay, fighting gets out. What other? What
does Harris look like? What doesuh you know some of the Andy Basher,
the Kentucky guy. You know, they're putting all these possibilities into play.
On Capitol Hill today, lawmakers grillingSecret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle following the
assassination attempt at a Donald trum rallyearlier this month in Pennsylvania. Both Democrats

(03:02):
and Republicans are calling on her toresign. Boy, it was brutal.
I was watching some of this hearingshe doesn't have much to offer up as
far as answers. Again, it'spretty early, but still lawmakers are a
bit at their wits end with her. One of them saying, would you
call this the biggest security failure sincethe attempted assassination on Reagan in eighty one?

(03:25):
She said yes. He said, are you going to resign? She
said no? He said, youknow what the Secret Service director did back
in the Reagan stayed on the job. No, he eventually resigned, so
he didn't resign immediately, but eventuallyhe did resign. There's just kind of
a sort of expectations such a thinglike that happens. We're glad, well

(03:47):
we're not glad a man was killed, but we're glad that former President Trump
received a minor injury. But still, that was such a catastrophic failure of
security, you would think you wouldhave to resign. You Know what I've
felt wild about that is now Presidentor former i should say President Trump came
out over the weekend and he's justblasting the Secret Service. Who's still out

(04:09):
there protecting him to day? Isit not these same people that you're putting
on blasts Like sometimes I'm just howdoes that all work? That just must
be very They gotta be They gotto be blind to that sort of you
have to r Yeah, this iskind of concerning too, and I'm hoping
to get some more details as theday goes on. But the CDC actually
put this warning out on Friday aboutlisteria listeria outbreak connected to Deli meat.

(04:32):
Two people at least have died, many more have become sick. Unclear what
sort of meat is responsible here orany sort of store brand you know.
Yeah, is it hormel? Whatis it? There's been no recalls that
have been issued yet. They saymost of the people that became sick reported
eating liverworst or turkey, although somesaid they had some ham and they fell

(04:55):
ill. That's what my parents andmy grandparents, Yes, that was that
was what they always said. Hey, if you don't behave or whatever,
this is what you're getting for dinnertime. You know what you'll find as
you get older, though, someliverwurst on rye with a slice of raw
onion and some brown mustard. Youtoo shabby. Can't even imagine a person's
breath after that meal. No,I'm not saying you don't kiss them,

(05:15):
but with a nice maybe a darkbeer and I care or something. Yeah,
that might be all right. Andartificial intelligence identifying cancer with more accuracy
than doctors. Research done by UCLAshows an AI tool identified prostate cancer with
eighty four percent accuracy that compares tosixty seven percent accuracy for cases detected by

(05:41):
physicians. Ah, no, Iactually I like it. Running for president,
maybe we just get AI. Ohmy goodness, they can do everything
better. Get an AI. Thereheard some pretty serious discussions about maybe we
get to that point some day.I just read a fascinating article about prostate
cancer too. But how supposedly doctorshave found maybe this is linked to a

(06:02):
protein the same with colon. Ohis it colin? Maybe around it col
a lot of people under fifty yearsold. They have seen the numbers just
skyrocket for younger colon cancer cases. And yeah, some sort of protein and
higher sugar levels and something along thoselines. It could be maybe hopefully the
first cancer actually can take out.So it's very very fascinating. So thank

(06:26):
