Speaker 3 (01:03):
Here in Madison, on the far east Side, a forty
two year old man found dead at a residence from
a gunshot wound yesterday afternoon. Cops called to the residents
in the fourteen hundred block is how Thompson Dry. Police
start looking into whether this was a self inflicted wound
or perhaps something else.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
So a sixty two year old Marshall woman killed in
a crash over the weekend in Dodge County. This happened
Saturday afternoon on Highway A and one fifty one north
of beaver Dam. Police say her vehicle went into the
median and hit a concrete barrier. Her name has not
yet been released. Also in Dodge County yesterday, yesterday morning,
there was an emergency plane landing. A plane was having
(01:39):
some engine trouble, so it landed in a farm field
and the town of Hubbard. A second plane also landed
in the field. I guess to check on the pilot
to the first plane. Nobody was hurt. Both planes were
on their way back to Georgia following the EAA show
in Oshkosh.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Why is it because there's older planes that travel up
for because we have local Porswana keys, got I know it.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
But just the steady stream of traffic coming in. Yeah,
well right here I have a story about now that
it's all wrapped up. Organizers say it brought in over
six hundred and seventy seven thousand people to the Fox Valley.
It yeah, brings in a lot of money too, brings
in well over one hundred million dollars. So it's a
big time event, that's for sure. And they already have
(02:23):
the data set for next year. Planes return. July twenty first,
twenty twenty five. President Biden today proposing major Supreme Court reforms.
He's calling for term limits for Supreme Court justices. He
also wants to see an enforceable code of conduct for
Supreme Court justices. Calls have grown since reports have come
(02:45):
out one after the other about Justice Clarence Thomas accepting
many trips and extravagant gifts from billionaires. But this has
like slim to none are the chances that this will
pass because.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
So now that he's not seeking reelection.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
It would have to go get through Congress, and Republicans
hold a narrow lead in the House, and it's not
going to go anywhere. But he made the proposals.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Right the overture, it seems like that's something maybe at
some point in sign bull sas.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
I tell you what something, something's got to give you know,
especially and all of the justices have been looked at.
But leading the pack here Clarence Thomas. I mean, geez
a big RV.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
And it's it's just there are also those rumors out
there that he may be picked as somebody's vice president.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
So that's kind of odd when we think.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
To our Supreme Court supposed to put their political side,
read the Constitution, all that stuff.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
So a lot of it's odd. It is odd. That's
our world. Thank you, Robin, coming back.
