Always okay, good, great, huge news today around the globe.
Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and American Paul Wheelan
released by Russia in a prisoner swamp with US and
several other countries. Other countries involved here in ud Germany, Belarus, Norway,
(01:04):
Norway and just like what and the two men, the
two Americans here could be back in the US as
soon as today if they're not already, it just this
has been going on. Of course, Paul Wheeland has been
held in Russian now for I believe six years. Gerskovich,
the Wall Street Journal reporter, was just recently sentenced to
just a ridiculous amount of time in prison on some
(01:27):
bs sort of espionage charge. And it just goes to
show you that there's always work being done behind the scenes.
And this took a little while because you have different
countries involved. I think Putin really wanted some guy back
who's in Germany, and so you had to get you know,
you had to work with all these other nations. And
here we are, and it's great news to hear.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
It is awesome news. It makes you think of like
a baseball trade or something. Yeah, to work in.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Absolutely not so great news here, but a resolution in
the case at least a nineteen year old platfill Man

Thirty one year old Mark Jones, was killed Saturday night
after his motorcycle was hit by a stolen vehicle. Jones
had been in Milwaukee for the Big Harley homecoming celebration. Yeah, yeah, got.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Red hot chili peppers were there, I believe too, some
really good musical. Actually, iways bring in yeah, the chili peppers.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
But I didn't think and I didn't read the whole article,
so it was behind a paywall. But Journal Sentinel there
was some article that sounded like the chili peppers weren't
so hot or weren't so well received.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Interesting, Yeah, I know, I didn't see that.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, like I said, it was behind a paywall, and yeah, yeah,
it's like I don't really want to.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Know that much.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Here's some good news. You can never outrun the law.
I guess. A fugitive wanted for three decades here in
Wisconsin was captured recently in Iowa. Guy's name is George
hartle Road, and he looks to be in his seventies. Now,
get this, he was convicted of rape in Wisconsin back
in nineteen eighty three. And I've been trying my darnedest
(03:21):
all day court records. I can't get my hands on
him to see just what all the circumstances was for
this conviction. But anyway, he was sentenced and he did
five years in prison. Then he went to a halfway
house and he broke out and has been on the
run since nineteen ninety four. Well, he's now been busted
in West des Moines for not having a rear reflector
(03:42):
on his bicycle. The locals in West des Moines, no,
I'm as homeless Greg, Wow, this kind of guy bombing
around And so when police they're like trying to get
his information, he has no IDs on him. He gave
him a fake name at first, eventually gave his real name.
They're like, oh, my gosh, do you know you're wanted
(04:02):
in Wisconsin? Obviously he does. Then he had this to say,
as far as if he'll ever try to escape again, well, I.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Will jump again. Shod they turn me loose, you know
every time. No, guys, they've been jumping my ass for
thirty forty one years.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Now on a nine years.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Thin because you were convicted of rape.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Oh, poor guy, let me get out my smallest violin. Actually,
one of the cops that made the arrest also went
and bottom a pack of smokes.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Because they all think he's just this friendly homeless Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Let's not forget he wasn't. That's why I was trying
to figure out what certain circumstances a rape charge it
can there can be different. Is that the actual you know,
abduction rape that I would think he would have gotten
more than nine years. Still back in the eighties, nine
years in prison, it could be some pretty serious stuff.
So and you've been hoofing it since then, and yeah,
and you know.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
He wants him Wisconsin, so you go to Iowa. Yep,
that's the farthest you.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
He became a homeless bum in Iowa.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
All right, nice, he's back behind bars at.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
The end of the story. Back behind Oh it's good.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yeah, he's where he should be.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Details I think that, I hope, so, I hope. So
it's gone interesting, all right, thank you? Robin.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Three o'clock hour rolls on here, working toward three forty
in your shot to win your way in to see
Fogg had.
