Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas rather than Easter.
Kind of the bookend holidays of the Christian faith. There,
but it is Easter weekend. Today is Good Friday. Wishing
a very blessed good Friday. You never want to say,
have a happy Good Friday, because Good Friday, as Deborah
Flora pointed out in our first hour, that is the
day that Christ was crucified. He rose again on Easter Sunday,

(00:23):
as we Christians and Catholics believe, and.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
That is the day that has celebrated. Easter Sunday.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
We spoke at length about the Passion of the Christ,
the Mel Gibson film starring Jim Caviezel as Jesus, and
the sequel that there's not a lot of details about it,
but Mel Gibson is in production on that, or at
least scheduled to be in production for that. We'll have
details on that as they become available. Kelly Couchira's back.
I can't believe she's still with us.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Where did you go? Did you go? Want to walk
out there in then no blustery snow?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
No?

Speaker 4 (00:54):
I did not, Oh you didn't.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
I had some post pro I had to do pro Martino.
So I had to make a few phone calls and
those types of.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Were you aware of our Fool of the Week nominees?

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yes, I did hear that.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
You did hear that?

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Guy?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Do you have a vote yourself?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Yes, you do, but I'm not going to disclose it.
Oh wow, Okay, just in case I have to be
the typeer fair enough.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Christ and total Deubbrah Flora both voting for Taylor Lorenz.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Senator Michael Bennett is one of them.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Katy Perry, the pretend astronaut.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Jonathan Flora, actually, as fate would have it, had a
post about this. I'm not sure if he was inspired
by his wife's appearance on this program, but it's a
Babylon B headline and it reads as follows.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
O I'm an.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Astronaut, exclaims Katy Perry during ride on Disneyland astro orbiter.
You know what, I went on Space Mountain at Disney World.
I am an astronaut.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Is he trying to mimic the pig from the guy?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I don't know who's doing what. That's Babylon B.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
That's not well, John, you know the commercial I'm talking about?

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Oh? Yeah, they just revived the Yeah, the pick.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
And then he goes, you know, after he's done, he's like, yeah,
thanks missus.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Well, it's one of the most annoying commercials in the
history of television, I believe, but it makes it effective
because you remember.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
It and you can't get it out of your head.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
But yeah, Katy Perry's pretend Astronaut Voyage is a strong
contender for our Friday Fool of the Week, and it's
getting a lot of votes from the listeners out there.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
I was a little surprised you left one off.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Who'd I leave off?

Speaker 4 (02:38):
As senator from Maryland who went to El Salvador.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Well, we're going to talk about him. That's like, that's
bigger than Full of the Week almost.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
That is just and if we know what I had
sent you earlier in the week about Taylor Lorenz, I
think there should be a complete different category.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Well, and you can't even say it on the air,
I can. It was very profane, you could, but we
have to dump.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
You get of the Week.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Oh okay, there we go. That's fair, Alexa says.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
The six Women in Space just a publicity stunt, not astronauts,
Just a very expensive Disney ride like we just heard
about from the Babylon B. Did they test botox and
silicon at sixty.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Miles above the earth?

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I believe they did inherently, Alex Oh, I'm just casting
aspersions and coming back, she continues, kissing.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
The earth was absurd.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Then the entire capsule door opening from the inside tells
you this was such bs Oh, we have to let
Jeff Bezos open the pressurized capsule even after we saw
the door opened. Why wasn't there video streaming from blast
Off until they exited the capsule. Why weren't their ambulances
waiting in case there were medical issues? Finally, the outfits
were ridiculous. Of course, Lauren Sanchez needed to show cleavage

(03:51):
with the zip down. That's Bezos's new gal right, his
new squeeze Lauren Sanchez, it would.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Be well point.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
She made the scene. The scene at the wedding, if
I remember or was it? Yeah? No, it was a funeral.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Was the inauguration? Was inauguration?

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I was?

Speaker 2 (04:12):
I was there, but I wasn't there.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I was there in the arena where Elon Musk allegedly
did the Nazi salute, which totally I didn't notice it
and in real time at all, meaning it must not
have been that noticeable.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah, when you freeze frame it.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
But what I saw, and I was from the side
and you saw my videos, I think Kelly did that.
He was grabbing his heart and throwing it to the audience,
and then grabbing his heart and then throwing it to
the other side of the arena, including me. I caught
his heart.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
Ah, just a dovetail on your little comment about the
six women in space and Alexis too. I cannot imagine
being in a room with six women.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
There would have been murders plural, and you would have
been the perpetrator.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
It would have maybe lasted. And this is exactly how
much it lasts. When I had to go and you know,
go to get togethers.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Well, let me tell this part of the story because
Kelly's favorite thing is when Adam, her husband, takes her
to these gatherings. She described as all these couples and
all the guys gather around the TV, start watching football,
and you are expected to.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
What go up, hang out in the kitchen.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
Drink wine, drink wine, more wine, talk about you know,
their husbands and what they've been doing, and see pictures
of their kids and hear about what their kids are doing.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Meanwhile, I'm like, I just want to go watch the game.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
That's you. That's true. Alex is not done. She went
on quite the da tribe here, did you see this?
It was an opus that Alexa wrote, the rock was
made by mostly men and was being controlled by mostly men,
not by the six women. Such an embarrassment for women,
says Alexa. I am proud of the three incredible women
at NASA portrayed in the movie Hidden Figures, and she

(06:00):
concludes that with her vote for Katie Perry. Natalie Tennant
from Never So International says.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Right, it has to be Bennett. Okay, yeah, Bennett.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
When I found the did you hear the fuller version
of that clip that I just played from CNN and
Caitlyn Collins Kelly? To me, that makes it worse because
he was fine when he was, you know, kind of
hitting his stride. You gotta go against you know, citizens
United and billionaires of money, and then she just pivots
him and like bam, hits them right in the face.

(06:31):
Very simple, very direct question.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
You think that was his high point?

Speaker 2 (06:35):
The high point was the beginning of that. Yeah, then
that's it.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Okay. Then the entire thing was hitting in a gear.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
It's a low bar.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yeah, so send your votes five seven, seven, three nine
year vote for Friday Full of the Week, This one,
says Taylor, although the Astronauts are a close second. A
lot of people were kind of they're not happy with
this whole stunt. And it's not only think it's Bezos's fault,
you know, but with Gail King and Katie Perry, and

(07:03):
they're making it bigger than it was.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
It wasn't that big a deal.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
And that's the point that Christian Total made earlier with
you know, William Shatner, who has done more for space
exploration than they have combined, just by virtue of him
starring as Star Trek, and I think generating interest in
science and science fiction and in space, the Final Frontier,
all that sort of thing.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
But he wasn't coming back one. I'm Captain Kirk.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
He must not make it a fool of himself, and
he wasn't a nominee for Fool of the Week as
a result. He was humble about it. I mean, imagine
that Bill Shatner humble.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
I have a theory.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
Yeah, I think the people are not very happy because
the mainstream media pretty much ignored.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
When we went up and saved the two astronauts.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
Oh, I remember that from the National Space Station SpaceX.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
And Elon was involved. Not that big of a deal.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
Meanwhile, just Based is a god apparently.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I think those good things too. I mean, Amazon's pretty awesome.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
I have mixed feelings on Bezos, but I think generally speaking,
he's been an impressive important guy in the revolution of
how we distribute goods.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Well, he also put out of business many moms.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Well we know that businesses and malls and a lot
of people.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Why would you go to the mall when you can
order an Amazon.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Yeah, well, you know.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
I have mixed feelings on Amazon too.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Same here, same here. But yeah, Kelly's broader point, it's
a good one. Senator Chris van Holland, this detestable dirt bag,
this publicity seeking hound that nobody knew about.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Not even the people in Maryland knew.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Who this guy was. I don't think it's one of
those I was talking to Rob Dawson. If you were
to take an eight x ten photo Michael Bennett and
go down to Parkmento's mall, or Cherry Creek mall, or
go out to Aurora and what's the mall out Southlands
mall up by you. Yeah, and you took this photo
of Michael Bennett, just the average colorad and living around Denver,

(09:07):
and you said, hey, do you know who this is?
How many people out of ten, Kelly, do you think
could I know that's Senator Michael Bennett.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
That's my senator, that's our senator.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
I'm going to say four.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
You think four out of ten could identify him? I
think that's high. You think, yes, Yes, Well, I think.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
The average Colorado would look at him and go, I
think I know that guy, but I'm not sure from where.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
Yeah, they'd probably no, Hick a little bit, a little
bit more.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
I think you're right. I think they know Polus a
little bit more than Bennett. I mean, for better or worse,
they just would know who he is. Bennett is a
non entity.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
He he's an unimpressive guy.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
But anyway, Senator Chris van Holland, I mean, he records
this video minute long about going to El Salvador earlier
this week.

Speaker 6 (09:51):
I'm here at the airport. I'm about to board my
flight for San Salvador. The goal of this mission is
to let the Trump administration to let the government Al
Salvador no that we are going to keep fighting to
bring Albrego Garcia home until he returns to his family.
I hope to meet with representatives of the government. I

(10:12):
hope to have the chance to actually see Kilmark and
see what his condition is. But we are going to
keep fighting because this is a miscarriage of justice. The
Supreme Court has ruled nine to zero, nine to zero
that he was illegally taken out of the country, and.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
That's false, that is incorrect, that is not what the
Supreme Court said. The Supreme Court ruled that the Trump
administration needed to facilitate his return should l Salvador choose
to initiate it. There was no judgment on the merits
as to whether or not he should have been deported.
There was a procedural question and that's what they ruled
on for the lower court.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Put in a prison in Al Salvador.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
And this is about due process, This is about rule law.
What bullies do is they begin by picking on the
most vulnerable. But if we get rid of the rule
of law, due process the United States, it's a short
road from there to tyranny.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Just laughable.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
But then ben Holland gets there and he runs into
some problems and barriers.

Speaker 6 (11:19):
I'm here with Chris Newman, who is the attorney for
the wife and mother of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and we
just tried to go visit him in prison, just to
check on his conditions. Is he doing okay because nobody
has any communication event since he was illegally abducted from

(11:43):
Maryland and sent to Seacott Prison in El Salvador, which
is a US district court judge said was a violation
of all his due process rights. Today's purpose for just
to see what his health condition is, and these soldiers
were ordered to prevent us from going any farther from

(12:04):
this spot. I understand we're about three kilometers now from
Secat and as you can see, they're letting other cars
go by, but they stopped us because they're under orders
not to allow us to proceed to check on the
well being of of Rego Garcia.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Now, the update from there would be that he did
meet with Kilmar Abrego Garcia. It looked to be like
a cafeteria. It didn't look very prison like, and apparently
Van Holland is denying that they had margaritas together. He
had a margarita at some point, although I believe he
was captured in a photo having a margarita. I mean,
nothing wrong with that, but I mean, this is a

(12:44):
country club. Is this the prison? Where did you meet
up with them? What happened with that? And I've got
a take on the whole due process rights in a
moment that again I diverge wholeheartedly with Dan Kaplis.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
And he's the legal mind, he's the lawyer. I'm not.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
But I got a really interesting example to illustrate exactly
why you can't go down that road, a slippery slope
with a non citizen. American citizens have constitutional rights. Not
citizens of the world, not anybody sitting in Japan or
Cambodia or the United Kingdom or Germany right now. They
don't have constitutional rights. There are constitutional rights, just like

(13:22):
I don't have British rights. I'm not a British citizen.
I don't have Italian rights. I'm not a citizen there.
I could visit there. Do I suddenly get Italian rights
because I show up on shore there in Sicily's Here's
Donald Trump talking about Van Hollen as only he can.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
He's a fake. I know, I know, I'm all. They're
all fake and they.

Speaker 7 (13:44):
Have no interest in that prisoner. That prisoner's record is
unbelievably bad. A talk about how evil I am that
this man would be thrown out of ok This man
is a according to my statement so we get, is
a very violent person. And they want this man to

(14:06):
be brought back into our country where he can be free.
And just say, is a happily Maryland you know, happily
they call him the Maryland man. He's a Maryland father. No,
he's a violent person.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
He went on to describe the domestic violence accusations against
kill Mar Abrigo Garcia, the two personal protective orders that
were issued by his wife. Who's trying to backpeddle on
that now, as many abused women do by saying, oh no,
that was a while ago. And I was just scared
because a former boyfriend abused me and I thought maybe
he would not come on. And then you want to

(14:42):
hear fake news MSNBC when things got a little hot,
got a little inconvenient for this narrative they keep pumping
out for their viewers. Cuts away from Donald Trump reading
through this list and itinerary of Kilmar Abrigo Garcia, his
criminal background, and the deport order itself, which dates back
to twenty nineteen.

Speaker 7 (15:04):
In twenty nineteen, Garcia was issued a deportation order. Two
separate judges are from Garcia was a member of MS thirteen,
which is a gang that maybe even work.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
We've been watching.

Speaker 8 (15:14):
President Donald Trump there swearing in the new administrator of
the CMS, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, doctor Mennett
Oz during this contract.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Now that's chicken crap. And I would say something else,
you know what it is, but that is just weak sauce.
There was a deportation order issued twenty nineteen for Kilmar
Abrago Garcia not an American citizen here in this country illegally.
And I've told you why this is a slippery slope
because there are two things that have been happening when

(15:45):
it comes to illegals in this country. One, they cross
the border, they're given an order to appear before a
judge so that there asylum claim, whatever it is, wherever
it's from, could be adjudicated. Part one is they never
show up. They just stay here anyway. Is that okay?
Part two is what you just heard. They have the
hearing it is adjudicated. He is not entitled to stay here.

(16:07):
He was not granted asylum, the deportation order was issued
and he just stayed. Anyway, get this headline. You want
to hate the fake news more what you just heard MSNBC,
Well you know that CNN does it too. What stands
out to you in this slug Kelly, and again that's
the headline that you read at the bottom of the
screen on CNN, Fox News whatever immigration crackdown. Senator Van

(16:30):
Holland colon Abrigo Garcia's case is about constitutional rights for
all US residents, Kelly, What stands out about that?

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Well, he's not necessarily a resident.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Now, well that he is was because hold on, hold on,
let me finish. Resident is a far cry from citizen.
Resident means you just reside somewhere. I'm residing here, I'm
occupying space here.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Well listen, when you go on vacation, you're gonna go
on a honeymoon, so you're going to be residing in
a place for a while. But the difference is you're
gonna come back.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
My question for Dan and I can't. He keeps saying that.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
It really bothers me. Again, as the son of an
immigrant who is here legally. My grandparents were legal immigrants,
that he's doing the whole very fine people or illegal immigrants? Well,
first of all, why are they here illegally? Why don't
they then at least pursue or initiate the procedure of
being here legally? Why do they just assume they can

(17:31):
come here illegally and they have a right to be here.
If that's a problem, I don't know that they're very
good people. If they are, then go ahead and become
an American citizen. And if you can't go back across
the border and try again and wait your turn in line,
what makes you special that you get to jump the line?
That's the question I have for Dan. There are lots
of people that are trying to come into this country legally.

(17:51):
Why should they do that? Why should they even bother?
You can hop across the border and just have it
all be good.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
No I don't. I don't.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
But if your first act in entering this country is
to disobey and disrespect our immigration laws, I don't have
any sympathy for you none. You have a SOB story.
Everybody has a SOB story. We've talked about that part
of it. But then there's this sticky wicket, this gray area.
Who gets constitutional rights here? What if a Japanese couple

(18:20):
comes and visits Disney World. We're talking about that earlier.
Are they all of a sudden if they just say
it tided to overstay their flight, their reservations, their hotel,
and they came here legally, presumably they had a passport,
They entered the country legally, legal port of entry, airport,
they're visiting country. Well, do they get constitutional rights? They
can just stick around if they want to not leave?

(18:42):
Do our borders mean anything? Does being a citizen confer
upon you special and unique rights? It should, and they're
not for other countries' citizens. I don't know why this
is a difficult conversation. We'll have a very important conversation
with Lindsay Datko when we come back on Ryan Schewing Live.

Speaker 9 (19:05):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I was in California and that young girl's name, as
you heard of the beginning, Celeste. She's seventeen years old.
You can hear in her voice how traumatized she is
by this experience of an x Y chromosomal individual in
her locker room watching her change. Shame on anyone who
would support this. Where are the protectors that the seventeen

(19:33):
year old girl has to be the one to show bravery,
to show courage, to show leadership and speak out for
this when she is the one being traumatized, the victim,
and a California school board meeting there does nothing. In fact, oh,
just over a minute in you heard that lame woman.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Say, I can you repy not please.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Just completely disregarding her. Even Gavin Newsom has woken up
to this one. And yet here we are in Colorado
with a house built twenty five thirteen twelve that is
a waiting passage in the Senate. Need an update on that,
We'll get it from our next guest. But also we
heard from Dustin Gonzalez yesterday and his heartbreaking story of

(20:16):
a daughter who's been transitioned behind his back, without his knowledge,
without his consent, without his input. He didn't even say
he was necessarily against it, but they boxed him out
and the biological mother, along with the school, conspired to
transition his daughter and brought in a therapist so called

(20:38):
to help facilitate and enhance that transition, not to ask
any questions, not to truly get to the root of
the matter of gendernysph you. Maybe this girl just needs
some counseling and needs some time. Nope, we need to
affirm her decision as a minor and go down this
path of surgical reassignment, surgery, hormone blocker. There's hormone injections

(21:02):
that will make them a dependent life patient to Big Pharma.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Lindsay Dako joins us.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Now Jeff co kids first, it's not just in Colorado,
but we are really ground zero for this right now, Lindsay,
thank you so much for your time. As always, what
is the very latest? I know it seems like this
news develops by the day.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Yeah, Well, this father shared his story with j Echo.

Speaker 8 (21:26):
Kidds first where he has an army behind him, and
we helped him sign up for the board.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Meeting where he may have heard his powerful speech that
went viral.

Speaker 9 (21:36):
And one of the.

Speaker 8 (21:37):
Most powerful winds there to me was when he said
I just wasn't ready to affirm her and not once.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
To do everything to ask the father and I had
an opportunity to look at the court records when he
says that the.

Speaker 8 (21:52):
Sole reason he lost Bessidy is because he wasn't willing
to affirm his eleven year old he is not kidding
and as I read those records. I took note of
the jefsco school's counselor's name and remembered she had shown
up in an open records request, and those records actually
ended up in a Fox News article in.

Speaker 9 (22:11):
Twenty twenty three.

Speaker 8 (22:13):
But in those emails, she said she had ten students
in one grade. This is a K eight school, kinder
through eighths, who identify as a different name in pronouns.
And she talked about the fact that a teacher wanted
to send a letter home to parents to show them
that they were requesting different name and pronouns, and she

(22:35):
believed that this was detrimental.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
To them to the students, to out them to their parents.

Speaker 8 (22:41):
And this same exact counselor ended up making recommendations that.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
Has now put this father in a position to.

Speaker 8 (22:49):
Lose a severe amount of custody. So what we're seeing
here is all of these policies unfolding real time and
having real effect on the destruction of parental child relationships.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Here's a highlight from Dustin Gonzalez, who Lindsay is referring to,
from that Jeff Coo school board meeting.

Speaker 10 (23:09):
You gave my ex all the tools she needed to
take our daughter from me.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Tools that she couldn't have forged on her own.

Speaker 10 (23:15):
You gave her the therapist, you gave her the ideological support,
and you never once thought shouldn't the father be involved too.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
I was supposed to have one upon in this fight
for my daughter.

Speaker 10 (23:26):
One voice equals say, one person across the table who
I would battle for influence, and that person was supposed
to be my ex But you gave her reinforcements.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
You gave her a system that cut me out of
the picture.

Speaker 10 (23:38):
You handed her the tools to eliminate me from my
daughter's life, and with your help, she's trying.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
To erase me. Altogether.

Speaker 10 (23:44):
You replaced my voice, you stole my seat of the table,
and you made decisions about my daughter without me.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Lindsay, when I was eleven, and I remember it well,
I think I had just taken some form of very
rudimentary sex ad we had at the boys went in
one room, the girls want in the other.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
I didn't really understand it, not fully. It was all
new to me.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
I remember feeling kind of bold that I had gone
to a friend's house and watched Beverly Hills Cop, who
was an R rated movie.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
I knew that if we had such movies, even it
was PG.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Thirteen at the time we're talking like mid eighties, you
had to have a parental permission slip that allowed you
to watch such a movie. The point I'm driving at
is what you really stood up to me about what
you just said about Dustin and his daughter.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
She's eleven.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
She's eleven, and I'm trying to come up with any
other life changing decision of this gravity that we would
entrust to eleven year olds to make for themselves.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Can you think of one?

Speaker 8 (24:42):
I certainly cannot, And don't forget Ryan Jacko's schools.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
These eleven year olds.

Speaker 8 (24:48):
Are also going to outdoor lab school where seventeen year
old of the opposite sex are bunking with them and
monitoring their showers, are targeting our middle schooler is hard.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Dustin told me the story yesterday about when he first
realized there was an issue of gender dysphoria and had
hit him like a ton of bricks.

Speaker 9 (25:11):
This was last year, probably about Mark or so. My
daughter came to a car and she was dressed completely
differently she was, but my wife was thinking rob she
didn't even recognize her.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
And you know, we're not dumb.

Speaker 9 (25:23):
I'm pretty politically aware, and we basically asked us, say, hey,
what's going on, like let's thought about this, like what's
going on?

Speaker 4 (25:30):
And yeah, she said, well.

Speaker 9 (25:32):
I'm not binary. I want to go buy these pronouns.
I wanted to be my name, and I was like,
where did this come from?

Speaker 2 (25:39):
And she refused to.

Speaker 9 (25:39):
Tell me, and to this day she still won't tell
me where it started. But I excummitted in court.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
On last Friday.

Speaker 9 (25:45):
That that did hert in school and even she didn't
know that started it, but she.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Was sold first and then me.

Speaker 9 (25:52):
So basically, my daughter is being indoctrinated for six months
where I even found out and she had argue a
decision by.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Then, his daughter had been indoctrinated at the age of
eleven for six months.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Now.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
To clarify because it might sound confusing, he's talking about
his second wife, So this would be the girl's step
mom picking her up from the birth mom, who is
the ex wife of Dustin Gonzalez, and he just finds
this out six months after the fact. Lindsey, as we've
talked about so many times, this is far from an
isolated incident or occurrence, and it's not unique to.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Just Jeff call.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Although again that is front and center in this conversation.
We know it's made national headlines. We know that there
is a bill pending in the Colorado General Assembly thirteen twelve.
But where does it go from here in the fight
for parents' rights?

Speaker 8 (26:39):
Yeah, I think a lot is hinging on that bill,
even though we're already seeing this happen without that bill
being official. But it sounds like organizations like One Colorado
are backing off of that bill. The sponsor mentioned mainstream
LGBTQ organizations are pushing against it, and they're running out

(27:01):
of time, it sounds like on this bill, and so
that will I believe if that bill is killed or
greatly amended, that's going to send a huge message.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
And I think that it will help this fight.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Lindsay Dako joining on us Jefcho Kids first. She does
such great work. I kind of was formulating this idea yesterday, Lindsay,
and I wanted to run it by you, whether it's
you or Aaron Lee, who is another brave fighter for this,
and she has co authored an op ed and.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
The wash of the Wall Street Journal.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
She'll be on with Dan Kaplis a little bit later
on today or all the other brave fighters who are
speaking up on behalf of kids, Dustin Gonzalez himself, there
is strength in numbers as we go forward from here.
Were we to get enough signatures to put this measure
on the ballot for the voters of Colorado to decide
to go the way of Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom

(27:56):
and ban these types of surgeries procedures so called called
gender affirming care. I think it's gender rejecting care. With
the voters of Colorado enshrine this into law and ban it,
and Colorado I have to believe the numbers would be
on our side. Do you feel that might be worth
the effort?

Speaker 8 (28:15):
You know, I see zep CO Kids First as a
snapshot of this state, and it is a mixture of
political perspectives and this issue.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
You know, it's one of our questions to join.

Speaker 8 (28:28):
Our group on Facebook, and I never have anyone say
that they don't respect the fact that we are addressing it.
And so just looking at our eight thousand families and
community members in Jefferson County, I believe that what you
just said is the case, and I believe that people
feel children need to have their individual rights preserved for

(28:51):
when they are able to consent to and make their
own decisions in such a grave manner.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
There is no denying the inherent tie together of a child,
a child age eleven even younger in some cases, being
able to decide for themselves what their gender is and
that inherent link and tie to sexuality, Lindsey, and making
choices that they shouldn't be making at that age. They

(29:19):
shouldn't be confronted with that. Their youth, their innocence should
be preserved and protected. And unfortunately, there are powers that
be within these school systems that are looking to undermine
parents protecting their own children. And like I said, I've
got to believe that the momentum is there and that
we might need to take that next step of putting
it on the ballot and letting the voters decide this.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Yeah, I absolutely agree. I'm a person who.

Speaker 8 (29:44):
Believes in the people and their voice, and that would
be a very powerful measure, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Jeff co Kids First. You can find that group on Facebook.
She mentioned eight thousand families strong and growing. I am
there as well, and Lindsey, we so appreciate all the
time the effort, the work that you're putting into this.
Please don't stop for parents like Dustin Gonzales out there.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
The vote was close. I think it's.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
Very close, but we do have a winner by one vote, okay.
And it wasn't your.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
Vote, it was not it was Michael Bennett.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Michael Bennett, yep. Wow. Down the stretch. Here's the whole thing.

Speaker 11 (33:06):
And I'm using Elon Muskin as an example. But we've
got problems on the Democratics side as well. And this
is one of those instances, Caitlin, where I think we
need to think very hard about how to overcome Citizens United.
We may need a constitutional amendment to deal with it. Yeah,
and other generations of Americans have amended the Constitution to

(33:27):
get women the rights and vote. They haven't said it's
impossible you.

Speaker 8 (33:31):
Would not accept donations from billionaires going forward.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Well, I.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
Have.

Speaker 11 (33:41):
I'm one of the very few members of the Senate
who does not accept corporate pack money. For example, I
don't accept I don't, so I'm not if you're asking
about independent expenditures of billionaires. I haven't thought that through
because I'm not in a position to be able to

(34:02):
make a judgment about that. I'm not sure I'm missing
your misunderstanding your question.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
I think, ladies and gentlemen, you're betting favored to be
the next governor of Colorado, aren't we?

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Blessed?

Speaker 1 (34:13):
And our Friday fool of the Week, Senator Michael Bennett,
well deserved in a tough field with Taylor Lorenz and
Katy Perry and the whole fake astronaut thing. But I'll
do it for me from here for now. Have a
happy Easter, everybody. I'll talk to you again on Monday.
