Speaker 1 (00:00):
And we are live and ready to go.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's a kind of stormy looking day out there on
this Thursday, and there's a lot of moving parts today
and it was all precipitated by a Colorado Rockies rainout
last night in Kansas City, so that shifted them to
a double header today. If you're bouncing over from KOA,
you're hearing that game and that is six' four right,
Now royals leading in the top of the. Seventh, unfortunately
(00:26):
what that has done this is really put a cramp
in our style in OUR Nfl draft coverage for this
evening over ON. Koa SO i wanted to Get Ryan
edwards an opportunity to tell us exactly what's going, on
when it will be going, on where it will be going,
on where you can find, it and questions about the draft.
Itself he joins. Me, Now Ryan, edwards One ryan to,
another are how are you.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
My man and our ask?
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Man it's good uh to join, You and once, AGAIN
i think both of our stations can always benefit from More,
Ryan So i'm with you on.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
That, Yeah Ryan.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Squared how are we going to put that love, it,
live dream? It, yes but exactly, SO i mean you're
getting a chance here to crackle on the air with.
Me but there was supposed to, be you, know this
big pre show coverage of the starting at six o'clock,
tonight and unfortunately for you, guys you, know there'd be
A rockies, doubleheader so that'll be eating right into the draft.
(01:17):
Itself but can you tell us the latest on what
you guys have, planned what's going, on what you're looking forward.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
To, yeah so the way it's going to function tonight
is you got the double header for The Rockies. Royals
those games are going to go right back to, back
so you're In game one right. Now when that game
wraps a pretty quick, turnaround they're going to get Into game.
Two first pitch of scheduled For round three ten to,
that which means it'll probably bump right up to the
(01:43):
start of THE Nfl draft at six. O'clock so we're
going to be on your, STATION i, imagine right at
the beginning of, it right there at six. O'clock and
Then kowa will join us in, progress AND i believe
that we're going to just simulcast the entire, draft at
least the first round on both. Stations, Tomorrow hey's play
a coverage of six. O'clock so we'll be on K
how predominantly tomorrow, night and then again portions of the
(02:07):
draft Loand saturday will also be on K. How so
again you know it just Dieheart radio. App hen has
end up nice things about, it, man go check it.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Out, yeah iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
App And i'm Glad i'm Having Ryan edwards on right
now because this is news for a lot of you
out there that you'll be able to use if you want.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
To follow the draft.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Coverage you're driving around in your, car you're on your,
phone that's where you want to go in right, here
as he said on six point THIRTY K how for
simulcast coverage immediately upon the conclusion That Dan Kaplis show
today With wayne loguson as a guest, Host Ryan edwards
and a cast of thousands will be joining you with
the draft.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Coverage so tell us about your, Setup, ryan where you
are and how that's.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Looking, so, yeah we're going to be down at The
broncos facility as we typically, are which is always a.
Treat we certainly appreciate that relationship with The. Broncos we're
the only station broadcasting live From Broncos. Park power By
Common spirit and we'll be actually in the atrium this.
Time the last few drafts have been in the Field,
house which has been really, nice a lot of room
(03:02):
to move. Around certainly it's a giant field right in
the middle of the field, house but this, case because
they're doing a bunch of construction there right next to
the field, house we're going to be in the. Atrium
so the main atrium is where they're going to have
the media, assembled and so we're like kind of tucked
into a corner if you, will inside the a. Troom
we'll be right there with all the press. Conferences we'll
get a chance to talk to the prospects right after
(03:24):
The broncos draft. Them, so for, example The broncos draft
a player at twenty tonight's which a lot of people
think they will price stand pat and do, that then
we will talk to that player immediately after they Picked
Ran Edwards koa joining.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Us so take us through the crew who will be
on site with you to help provide that.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Coverage, Well Dave logan of, course anchoring the coverage as
he typically.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Does i'll be.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
There Benjamin, Albright Nick, Ferguson Rick, lewis color analysts for The.
Broncos we've also just really cool interviews set, up by the,
way With Susie wargen checked.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
In With Peyton manning And Vond miller and a.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Bunch of Former broncos greats that we're going to air
those intervie kind of throughout basically them talking about their draft,
experience and so it's going to really have a pretty
massive feel to, it and we really just love every
part of it because there's months and months of work
that goes into.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
This as you probably know WHO i.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Am i've been obviously going to The, combine when we
go out to The Senior. Bowl we've been talking to
teams and to agents and. Prepping so it's months and
months of work that really goes into these three.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Days, Brian i'm not going to get under the hood
like you guys will for our.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
LISTENERS i want to provide broad.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Strokes but typically a draft like this with a team
Like tennessee at the top and an obvious need at
least from their fans perspective for a, quarterback that that
deal might get done even before the. Draft is Cam
ward a lock the quarterback out Of miami For tennessee
at ONE.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
I would say SO i mean usually by now we've
got some kind of an official announcement saying Cam ward
already knows or whoever the first pick is already. Knows
but it's been expected for. Months i'd, say even back
to when we were at the combine In, february maybe
even a conversation In january that this was kind of
locked up to Be camboard's position to lose in a
lot of. Ways, TENNESSEE i think temporarily flirted with the concept, of, hey,
(05:14):
well we want to go get a generational. Player so
maybe they're looking at At Duel carter as the pass rusher
out Of Penn. State maybe they're looking at A HUNTER i, mean,
RIGHT i mean That's Travis hunters is considered in that
conversation as sort of a generational. Player but in the,
end they have too big of a need there, quarterback
and you hopefully don't see yourself picking first overall anytime
(05:35):
in the near. Future you kind of have to take
a quarterback, there and teams in the past that have
not taken a quarterback there usually regretted.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
It SO i think it's the right pick for.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Them Ryan Edwards koa joining, us let's talk about the
Two colorado players that are being bandied. About you Mentioned Travis,
hunter and what an explosive special. Player he is a
unique double, threat much like his head Coach Deon, sanders
who would play both sides of the ball at times
for The atlanta but it ended Up dion stayed mainly
as a. Cornerback Travis hunter is being projected at number
(06:05):
two overall To cleveland and The browns, there which you,
know sorry For, travis because draft pick for The browns.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
They don't tend to work out like at all.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Ever, Right But, ryan do you See Travis hunter maintaining
this dual eligibility cornerback wide receiver? COMBO i, mean he's
he's been equally kind of projected at both, roles is
doing exceptionally.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Well but do you think he'll settle into one or the? Other?
Speaker 4 (06:27):
ULTIMATELY i think he'll settle into one or the. OTHER
i imagine whatever team drafts, him let's just for argument's,
sake say it is The. Browns they see him as
a wide receiver, predominantly so he will play wide receiver for,
them but then there might be some opportunity for some
red zone work as a cornerback if they you, know
give him an opportunity because he's obviously tremendous at that as.
WELL i think any team that really takes him is
(06:48):
going to want to use some of that.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Versatility but the reality of it is that the.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Playbooks are more, significant the amount of impact on your,
body the amount of games that you play at THE,
nfl it just is.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Prohibitive and it's not to say THAT.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
I want to cap the guy before he even has
a chance to play it down in THE. Nfl it's
just there's a reason why we've never seen. It we've
seen guys flour with The Champ bailey for, example he obviously,
cornerback but he played both ways and coming out of
college and even in high school he was an offensive.
Player but For Travis, hunter it's sort of, Like, okay
well this is what we see you. As and, honestly
the pay is better for wide receiver, anyways if we're being,
(07:23):
honest like the wear and tearing your body is. Better
probably there, too you probably can make double the amount
of money as a wide receiver than you can a.
Cornerback that's something to talk about, Later but, YEAH i
do think that if he's drafted by The, browns he
will be predominantly a wide receiver with maybe a splash
of corner.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Opportunities there's cost.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Certainty it seems like when it comes To Travis, hunter
you mentioned being a generational, player a two way, player
probably going too to The browns to be a surprise
if he.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Didn't but he's going somewhere up.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
High For shadu Or, SANDERS i, Mean, Ryan i've seen
him projected anywhere from number, three the very next, pick
to The New York giants to entirely out of the first.
Round it looked like most projections Have Abil, carter who you,
mentioned The Penn state edge rusher going to The giants at,
three WHICH i think would be the smart pick for
them if it kind of unfolds the way that we're
anticipating that it. Will but how do you Evaluate Shador.
(08:12):
Sanders i've seen maybe The Pittsburgh steelers as a team
projected and perhaps take him a little later in the first.
Round is this just a hard guy to kind of?
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Project he is a hard guy to, project and that
seems weird because the numbers in college are, tremendous, RIGHT i,
mean it's impressive to watch one of the best offenses
in college football with the quarterback that led. That now
being in a conversation and not even going in the first,
ROUND i do think that it's kind of. Interesting but
(08:41):
if you ask a lot of, scouts you ask a
lot of, teams they tend to look at, traits and for,
him the traits are just not jumping off the, page
like especially his arm, talent his, mobility his ability to
read right and then react fast and not hold the
ball too. Long means there's a multiple reasons why we
find ourselves in this, Situation and of, course part of,
(09:03):
IT i think is maybe bit The sanders. NAME i
think that his, personality his father's, personality maybe he does
impact things just a little. BIT i think if we
look at the overall pie, though that's not as significant
part as the rest of it. Is if he was
if he was as good a player as his dad
was at, cornerback then he'd be number one overall and
it wouldn't.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Even be a.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Discussion he could be as boisterous as he wants to,
be that wouldn't be a. Topic so that's part of
the reason WHY i think we find ourselves here IS
i don't know where he's gonna. GO i think The
STEELERS a twenty one feels like maybe the farthest he'd.
Go but if The steelers, pass if they, decide you,
know we're gonna wait on, quarterback then the next scenario
for me would be a trade into the first round
(09:45):
by either of The browns or The, giants which would
be kind of fun to pair him With travis at
the next. Level if The browns decided to come back
into the first round and snag him and pair those two,
together but that would be that would be the DIRECTION
i ultimately. SEE i would BE i think of all the,
Scenarios i'd be the most surprised if he made it, today, Too.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Ryan there are a lot of recognizable names at, quarterback
but it doesn't seem like it's as deep at the
top kind of. Tier beyond Cam, ward then you Have Chaduur,
sanders we talked About Jackson dart From Ole.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Miss do you anticipate that.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
There will be three more than three quarterbacks that go
in the first, round because what seems to happen is
this unfolds when we start following the draft in real.
Time teams get really nervous and they get really jumpy
when it comes to the quarterback position and they'll. Reach
so that's Why i'm thinking Maybe Shadeur sanders possibly goes
higher in the first. Round do you see that happening
this year or do you think teams are going to
be disciplined and weight on.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
QUARTERBACK i could see. THREE i Think Jackson dart at
Ole miss is going to be the third. Quarterback there's
some room rumblings even today that The saints at number
nine might even take. Him SO i do see three,
quarterbacks and it's usually because it's such a premium position and.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Teams will overdraft that.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
Position you just sort of can't help, it, Right so
and maybe The giants jump back. IN i, Mean Jalen
milroe is another name that keeps kind of getting And
Tyler shuck as.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Well At.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Louisville there are several quarterbacks that are sort of hovering
around that discussion of the first, round and it's again
because they tend to be. Overdrafted it's going to be
a wild, NIGHT i think to your point about the
death of the draft and more specifically the top end.
Talent we talked about Albl, luquarter talked About Travis, Hunter
(11:25):
we'll talk about Cam ward and Maybe Ashton. Jenny you
could throw those four into kind of this one tier of,
player and then after that it is just anybody's guess
on where these guys are going to.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Go even the offensive.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Lineman there's not this, like, hey he's he's going to
be maybe a bit of a, project BUT i think
there's a lot of upside. There it's more of, like,
HEY i think this guy could. PLAY i don't know
if he'll ever be a pro, bowler BUT i think
he can. Play defensive linemen are kind of in that same.
Category it's, like, yeah some of these Are day one,
starters but for the most, part they probably don't have
the upside as a blue chip. Talent SO i am so.
(11:56):
Fascinated we've been discussing it for months to see how
this all shakes, out because really for every, team it's
sort of your individual taste on what you're ultimately looking,
for and you're probably not going to get a game changing.
Player you may not get a franchise setting player where
you're hoping.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
To Ryan edwards koa part of the live coverage tonight
and a key update that we have because of The
rockies doubleheader immediately following The Dan Kaplis show at six
Pm Mountain, time right as the draft's about to. Start
you can hear that live coverage From ryan And Dave
logan And Benjamin albright And nick.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Ferguson the whole gang.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
There rick lewis right here on six thirty k how
at six, Pm so keep that in mind and keep
tuned in here to six thirty k. How you Mentioned Ashton,
genty the running back For Boise. State anticipated he'll go very.
High it's always kind of a roll of the dice
to do that with a running. Back but speaking of that,
POSITION i wanted to bring this, Up, ryan BECAUSE i
(12:48):
know you And benjamin And dave you've probably all been
kind of doing your own kind of mocks and trying
to see where The Denver broncos will go at.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Twenty but it's so difficult when you get that far
in the.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Draft trades will, Happen guys might fall that shouldn't be at,
twenty And denver's got its pick kind of made for.
Them BUT i know That Woody page has picked four
of the last Five broncos first round picks. Correctly many
of you may know him From around The horn and
his appearances ON, espn and he Slates omari And. Hampton
the running Back North carolina is going To Denver Ryan.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Edwards what say, You.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
WELL i Love Marin hampton And i've liked him from
very early in the. Process it's. FUNNY i used to
work with the guy that was a big UN c
guy Named Andrew, mason and we talked About North carolina
football all the, time and So i've just sort of
kept tabs on. Them now they're in the news Because
Bill belichick is their head, Coach but for the longest,
time it's JUST i watched those. Players i'd watched those
(13:42):
games just BECAUSE i enjoyed a little bit of what
the Tar heels are doing out. There But Omarin hampton
has been on my radar for quite some. Time super
talented running, back very. Physical different From javonte, THOUGH i
think a lot of people will, think, well you and
see this is Just javonte part. Two Javonte williams very
talent unning back coming out OF unc as. Well he
(14:03):
more looking for the, contact looking to sort of put
highlight beat downs on defensive. Players Omarion hampton has better
vision in my, opinion and he's got plus hands on the.
Backfield very good in pass. Protection he's a three down
back as starting running back day. One if The broncos
decided to go that, DIRECTION i think it's a really
good one and there he'll probably be there at pick.
(14:24):
TWENTY i, mean certainly there's a scenario where a team
snags him, earlier BUT i really don't see. THAT i
think a lot of teams look at this draft and
see the depth and, say, well we could probably find
a running back a little bit later, on and we
have some other needs we need to get. To SO
i think The broncos they can Go Marian. HAMPTON i
Think Traveon henderson is a name that people should be
keeping in mind as.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Well From Ohio.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
State again more of a third down, back but think
About Alvin. Kamara he's Not Alvin, kamara but think about
it in terms of a receiving. Back also tremendous and
pass pro and again he was more of a time
share With Quinn Shawn, judkins who's probably to Go day
two in the middle of a thunder and lightning kind of.
Deal so if you Draft Treveon, henderson you're either looking
(15:06):
a little bit later on for another running back or
maybe that's good. News for rodric, estimate but either, way
he brings explosive nature to his. Game he's, Fast he's
more quick Than, omarian like he's more side to side
quick Than. Omarian marin's more the straight line. Guy he's
not going to really shake you out of your, shoes
But travion can so if The broncos off to go that,
(15:28):
ROUTE i think that would be a tremendous pick for.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Him, Tonight bronco's picking twentieth overall in the first. Round barring,
trades of, course those can always change the. Game they
might trade, down they might trade. Up we'll see In
Ryan edwards will help keep us informed on kiowa's coverage
live here on six point thirty K house starting at six,
pm then simulcast throughout the. Night broncos will pick nineteenth
in round, two twenty first in round, three twentieth in round,
four and they'll have three sixth round. Picks this is
(15:52):
all to start the. Draft we'll see what happens after.
That he mentioned thunder and lightning combos and that made
me think of Mightytroit lyons And sonic and With Jamir
gibbs And David, montgomery got to ask a quick question
about The.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Lions they pick.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
A twenty, eight you, know late first, round hard to
know what you're going to get.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
There but what position do you think The lions might go?
Speaker 4 (16:11):
With, well it's, interesting as you, MENTIONED i, mean you
get to that point in the draft and it's so
tough to know what's going to be. Available they might
be a trade down candidate considering one of these teams want.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
To jump in and get a.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
QUARTERBACK i think that they've they've done a really good
job of stockpiling picks but then also using them to their.
Advantage they're certainly in their window right. Now my first
guess would have been, edge, honestly and again it's not
to say that you, know you couldn't consider maybe an
offensive lineman there a trench's pick for, sure because it's
surely not a lot of massive needs for Your. Lions
(16:44):
but one guy THAT i really like there if he
happens to be, there Is donovan Is, araku and he
is a tremendous edge rusher that last year had sixteen
and a half sacks twenty and a half tackles for.
Law if he happens to sort of slip down into that,
RANGE i think you'd be pretty pretty thrilled that he
(17:06):
would be your. PICK i, mean he's, just LIKE i, said,
consistent Old american and what you're gonna love about. Him
AND i know that you follow the game as close
to you as you. Do it's got tremendous, bend you.
KNOW i mean that's when those edge rushers kind of
have that. Bend he's out Of Boston, college so he
saw really, good really really good competition. There so for,
(17:27):
me it's kind of, Like, okay we Got aiden coming
off of leg, injury you got you, know Got zdarius,
Right but, YEAH i mean just it just feels like
edge rusher For detroit would be a really good pick.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
If they can get.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
Him.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Ryan final, question as we go into this, live there's
a lot of surprises that. Happened do you have any
bold PREDICTIONS a guy that might slide entirely out of
the first, round a reach that might jump into the first,
round a trade that might.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Happen what do you?
Speaker 4 (17:52):
Got, WELL i, mean the one THAT i Guess i've
been sticking with for a while Is Mason graham out
of out Of. Michigan i'm just not the Biggest Mason graham,
Guy SO i think he's gonna get picked outside the top.
Ten he's been mocked inside the top ten basically all
during the pre draft. Process in, fact up until, recently
(18:13):
that was supposed to be the pick For jacksonville until
it seems like everybody's pivoting To Ashton jenny being the pick.
THERE i think he falls out of the top. TEN
i think teams are gonna look at. Him he's got
a pretty short. Arms in, fact HE'S i think it
was one of the top defensive tackles in this. Draft
he's got the shortest arms by like a, lot so
and one of those things that you see sometimes when
(18:34):
a guy is projected to be that, dude but he's
surrounded by a lot of other talented, players you have
to wonder a little bit is it him or is
it the help he's, Getting like From Kenneth, grant who's
also supposed to go in the first. Round you know
how much of it is, him how much of it
is the talent that is around.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Him so for, Me.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
I've looked At Mason graham not to say he's that talented.
PLAYER i just don't think he's that. Guy AND i
honestly think in a lot of drafts would probably falling
out of the first routtle, entirely but because we're without
those blue chip, players he'll probably end up getting pushed,
into LIKE i, believe the early, teens if not around
ten or.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Twelve he is that.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Guy Ryan EDWARDS koa and live coverage right here on
six thirty K i will begin at six pm for
the twenty twenty FIVE Nfl, Draft titans at number, One
browns at, Two giants at, Three patriots, Four jaguars, five
And raiders. Six and then you got to go all
the way down to twenty as it stands right now
for The Denver, broncos and you can hear all right
(19:32):
here on six thirty K i starting at six. Pm,
ryan thanks for taking a few minutes with. Us have
fun with the coverage.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Tonight appreciate you, Man thanks for having me on all.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Right Ryan, edwards right, there your thoughts as A broncos,
fan what you're hoping to see in the draft, tonight
what you're hoping to, hear and we're just happy and
excited to bring it to you right here on six
thirty kl immediately following The Dan Kaplis, show you're listening
To ryan schuling live back to the topics at, hand
and when we come, back Doctor Sean, patel Prep, EXPERTS
ceo and founder of that site on the ongoing battle
(20:03):
Between President trump And Harvard university federal funding for private
academic institutions of higher. Learning how does that. Jibe we'll
talk about it when we come back more after.
Speaker 6 (20:13):
This he's seeking to block funding millions billions of dollars
to university hospitals to medical research without any legal. Authority
he is violating The First amendment rights of universities and
faculty by demanding that if universities want to keep this,
(20:33):
money they have to suppress our speech and change what
we teach and how we. Study and he's doing all
of this and issuing all of these demands from defiance
of any kind of legal limit that would prohibit him
from making these sorts of. Demands so our lawsuit is
contesting the legality of all of. This we're trying to
defend The First amendment in this. Context and we're really
(20:56):
grateful That President garbert appears to have gotten this message
that there's just no complying and no negotiating with an,
authoritive authoritarian demand like.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
This this is so out of phase with what reality.
Is that Is Nicholas, bowie A harvard professor who is
leading a lawsuit against The Trump administration's decision to block
federal funding To Harvard, university When President Alan garber declared
he was not going to comply with The trump administration's
(21:26):
anti semitism demands of the, university saying it was A
First amendment. Infringement all but we're going to ignore the
rights of Our jewish students on campus to feel safe
to attend, class not be, intimidated and not be excoriated
by the so called Pro palestine protesters who are basically Pro.
Homas they're certainly Anti, zionists which means they're Anti. Israel
(21:50):
and if you're Against israel's right to, exist in my,
book that makes you Anti.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Semitic ryan schuling back with you.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Here on six point thirty k how and joining us
to talk a little bit more of about. This i'm
so happy to have his input and his, Insights Doctor Sean.
Pateel he is THE ceo and founder Of Prep, expert
and he joins us here On Ryan Shuley.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Live Doctor, patel thank you for your.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Time, ryan happy to be. Here how are, You i'm.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Doing, well And i'm trying to square how a private
institution Like Harvard university wants to kind of have its
cake and eat it. Too here with federal funding for
a private, institution for, Instance Hillsdale college in my home
state Of michigan does not accept federal funding and they
play by their own. Rules But harvard wants to play
by its own rules and yet still has its handout
(22:37):
for these billions of dollars in federal funds when their
endowment already has a very high number attached to.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
It what is your perspective on this entire.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
Situation, yeah, well, well while details are so, involving it
really appears to be a political decision tied to scrutiny
over their endowment, spending, transparency handling of recent, controversies you,
Know harvard's approach TO Dei initiative campus speech as you
(23:06):
were just talking about in. Governance so really it isn't about,
Finances it's really about accountability and optics, here which to your,
Point harvard has a fifty plus billion dollar endowment to
give it quite a bit of. Cushion so it's not
Like harvard's going to be totally not able to survive,
here but it will disrupt programs that they have that
(23:28):
rely on federal. Continuity further to.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
That, point this is another example in my mind the
WAY i perceive it, here we call it flyover country In,
Denver colorado and throughout The midwest The Rocky, mountains and
that the liberal coastal elites are trying to elicit sympathy
For Harvard. UNIVERSITY i, mean this is so on brand for,
them and that the Average, american let's, say voter that
(23:52):
resides in a state that could never afford to send
their kids To, harvard it's not even something they can relate,
to and it's certainly not something they're going to be sympathy,
for especially given kind of the surrounding circumstances we just.
Discussed harvard's not exactly hard up for money.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Here.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
Yeah. One and you, KNOW i think what we're going
to see is a rebalancing with more federal funds directed
hopefully towards public, universities especially those with underserved, populations hopefully
more to vocational and technical programs community, colleges and you,
know it should reflect a growing belief that federal dollars
(24:31):
should directly benefit the broader, population not just the institutions
with massive.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Endowments he's Doctor Sean.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Pateel he's THE ceo and founder of Prep, expert and
you can find out more about that online at prepexpert dot.
Com SO i wanted to give you an, opportunity Doctor
patel to tell us more about Prep, expert and AS
i see on the, website it says as seen on shark.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Tanks so take us from there if you would.
Speaker 5 (24:57):
Please oh, Yeah, Ryan, So i'm the founder AND ceo
of a company called prep ex For we've been around
for fifteen years helping parents and students improve their test
scores to get into. College but more importantly than getting into,
college in my, opinion is to be able to pay for.
College and so we've helped students win over one hundred
(25:17):
million dollars in college, scholarships making many of our students
college educations free or low, cost which helps them generate
a GREAT roi on that college. Degree and so for
parents and students who are, interested they can head over
to prep xp dot com find out more about our
online fat AND act. Courses how we help students raise their,
(25:38):
scores get into, college win. Scholarships we have a bunch
of free resources as, well.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Doctor, BATEL i want to focus in on something that
you brought, up and that is directing more federal funding
to public, institutions public, universities which to me makes a
lot more sense and seems a lot more, fair especially
for students like the ones that you are, coaching trying
to get better test, scores trying to get more scholarship.
Money it's very expensive to send a young one to
(26:04):
college these, days much more so than when you AND
i were, Younger and in, fact there are many people
that are foregoing the college route altogether to explore the skilled,
trades AND i can't blame them one bit for doing.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
That but as you try.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
To make college a more manageable, decision let's put it
that way for, parents for students that are looking to
pursue that. Path what do you think the future holds
with the cost of an education continuing to skyrocket outpacing,
inflation and how does your group help with?
Speaker 3 (26:32):
That?
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Yeah, absolutely you, KNOW i think this is the biggest
problem that is all colleges and universities are, facing and
they really created the problem by increasing tuition and the
cost of college far higher than. Inflation over the past
twenty thirty forty, years and so the way that, parents
(26:54):
students and families can think about it and the way
that we help our parents and students have products for
Mas gate this is to try to get as many
scholarships and grants as, possible as well as to attend
state universities that are just as high quality in terms
of their education to your point as some of these
(27:15):
very elite private institutions in terms of the education that
your student will, get and they're much lower. Costs so
going to a lower cost, university getting and applying for scholarships,
grants and then the last option really should be student
loans and financial aid from student loans because those are
(27:36):
going to be you, know loans need to be paid.
Back The trump administration just announced that they are going
to go after through wage, garnishments you, know those that
are delinquent on their. Loans so don't think loans are free. Money,
instead go after, scholarships grants and lower cost colleges and.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Universities very good advice from Doctor Sean. Patel he is
THE ceo and founder of Prep. Expert once, again that
website expert dot. Com and just to kind of put
a fine point on at Doctor. Burtel always thankful for
your time and your insights and expertise along these lines
as you forecast and kind of play this, out this
showdown between The trump administration And, harvard and no doubt
there will be other schools perhaps that might step up
(28:15):
and challenge The trump administration their authority on this to
withhold federal. Funding how do you see this coming to
a resolution of some?
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Kind, yeah you, KNOW i think that the only resolution
is for, parents, students and families like the one THAT
i work, with to reconsider.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
The roi of elite.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Education we're going to see more top students and we
already do choosing flagship state schools with honors colleges and strong.
Aid we see community colleges gaining ground for affordability and
they're you, know the transfer pathways they, offer and you,
know really a growing awareness that prestige doesn't always equal,
value you. Know so the bottom line, really as families
(28:57):
are becoming, smarter more States egypt consumers of higher, education
and that's a good.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Thing and his website's a good. Thing you can start.
There prepexpert dot. Com THE ceo and, founder Doctor Sean
pattel joining us here, today Doctor, pateel thank.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
You so, much really appreciate. IT i look forward to
the next. Conversation always always a.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
Pleasure thanks For haying for having, me you.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Bet and the one THING i would, say he hit
on so many key points THAT i think ring true
with me and for those of you maybe that are
parents of young ones that might be pursuing the college.
PATH i could not more strongly endorse the junior college
community college. Path for those first two years you're taking
basically the same. Courses they're all, basics you, know kind
(29:38):
of prerequistit courses that you need for your later education
and your junior senior year when you declare a major
and a. Minor now you're into those. Courses but you
can take the very same courses in most states and
have those apply to that degree at most public universities
at the community college and junior college, level WHICH i
did at what is Now Jackson, college AND i got
to play for The Golden, jets a baseball team. There
(30:01):
helps start that backup at it after it had been
a dormant program for many, years AND i had to
play baseball for one more. Year so that was fun
for me AND i took kind of a detour after
initially going To Michigan state and THEN i ended up
At Central michigan and that was the best choice for.
Me AND i could not agree more with Doctor Sean.
Ptel you don't need the prestige or the, name the, Legacy,
harvard The, yale The, Princeton and in, fact you talked To
(30:23):
Ben shapiro who was a graduate Of, harvard And Ted
cruz is. Too you know a lot of employers out
there right now might look at that and, GO i
don't know IF i want that indoctrinated student in my,
workforce and maybe look more favorably at those that come from,
traditional as he put at flagship state schools like see
you here In boulder Or Colorado State university as. Well
(30:44):
so just something to think, about and Doctor Sean pattel
appreciate him joining the program here. Today there is something
going on that you're not going to, believe but maybe
you will believe it after listening to this, program and
we'll have that for you when we come. Back it
is A x indoctrination. CAMP, yep it's, happening and we'll

about parents not consenting or agreeing to or affirming preferred
