(01:33):
was Lions GM. Brad Holmes atmy man after the big win in the
elevator, he was jumping and screamingand it was just delicious. It was
delicious. It was passion on earth. Yeah. I mean the greatest response
is Chris Bielman kind of turns andChris is so subdued, kind of turns
and looks at him like what thehell is going on? And the kind

(01:57):
of gives a little sliger in.It was and we're going to get to
the Lions big win over the Rams, and I'm glad it's over because I
don't want to hear what's his name'sname again? Or her name? We're
done with that name. But Jenniferhamn't named Michigan Sportscaster of the Year.

(02:19):
Thank you, I am. I'mso proud. It's so well deserved and
funny. You know what's amazing thatit's the first time that a woman won
the award twenty four right, Iknow that. So that's what makes me
most proud of myself is that asa woman who's toiled in this business for

(02:40):
thirty years, not toiled, Ithat's the wrong word. I love my
career. I love everything I've done. My resume, you know, speaks
for itself. And it's so muchfun. Every day that I get to
go to work. Yeah, everyday that I get to go to work,
I love. But yeah, Iwas. I went back and was
looking at some of the names ofpast winners. Dan Miller won it in

(03:02):
twenty things. It's all well deserved. But you've been in this business for
so long and you're so accomplished, and you're like, you're the Og of
Detroit. I just feel like Igo out to kick ass and take names
every time, and you're everywhere andyou do such a fabulous job, and
it's just it's really I'm just soproud when I saw that, like big

(03:23):
grin on my face, and I'mcurious, did you get the knock on
the door like I do for theBaker? Yeah, for the Pro Football
Hall of Fame. No, Butfunny story, you're gonna kind of like
this. So I got a call. I was getting a manicure and I
see my phone is sitting face upon the table and my friend Susan was

(03:44):
sitting just to my left and Iwasn't expecting it, and it said David
Gorean, and I'm like, god, the names sounds so familiar, but
it was on Carolina or a differentcity area code, so it's like,
man, what the hell, I'llpick it up. And he said,
hey, her, it's Dave Gorenfrom the NSMA, which is the National
Sports Media Association. He said,I just want to let you know that

(04:06):
you are our recipient of the Awardthis year for the state of Michigan.
Oh my god, dude, waita minute. So you were getting a
manicure. Did you freak out? What did you do well? When as
he started to talk, I said, oh my god. I'm like,
oh my god. And my friendis sitting next to me and she's like,
is everything okay? You know, she thinks something's wrong. And I

(04:27):
said okay, and tears started streamingdown my face and she's like, it's
not okay, and she's looking she'sthe sweetest little thing. She's like,
oh, it's not okay. AndI'm like, thank you so much,
and she's like, oh good,it's okay. And then I hung up
the phone, and I'm like,Okay, it's not coming out for two
weeks, but I can tell youbecause it was embargo. This was two
weeks ago and they just announced iton Tuesday. So who was the first

(04:49):
person you told? Well, Susanfound out, because I mean, I
think my kids. I kind ofsat with it for a minute and I
was trying to just absorb BLO,like wow, as you were holding onto
this for two weeks. Yeah, two weeks. I did tell my photographer
Brian when we were in Houston forthe National Championship, because like, we

(05:10):
kicked ass on Friday night when theteam arrived and we just did a really
great job. And I was like, I don't you know. It's funny
because I feel like I kind ofdigress. I'm all over the board with
this, but sometimes people get awardsand they rest on their laurels. Yes.
And from the minute I heard this, I thought, oh my god,
now I have to work harder.I have to live up to this

(05:33):
moniker, to this this title,to this thing. And Bradford Banta used
to play for the Lions and coachedin Michigan. He sent me a Texas
morning he does some stuff on ourgame Day broadcast now and he said,
congratulations Michigan sports cast for the year. How do I refer to you now?
And I said, your Highness willbe fine. So I think it's
great. Thank you. I thinkit's just wonderful and well deserved. And

(05:57):
having people like you that are soproud of me and my friends and my
sisters and people that are making sucha big deal of it makes me and
I'm just like an hooray not inthis cold weather, I am sensible.
A lot of people have reached outvia text and social media platforms, so
it's just been so thank you.If anyone hears this who has reached out,

(06:18):
it is it's so warm and it'sjust amazing to know that all these
people really appreciate what you do well, I told Zach. He started crying.
Zack, my little emotional gen zer. It's MILLENNI that's the water,
Yes it is. My son isan Aquarius too. What's your birthday?

(06:41):
February February ninth, mice, Oh, that's for your birthday? How old
are you going to be this year? Once? Oh? Baby? Wait,
so you're my oldest daughter's age mystepdaughter, but she's my daughter.
She no she's got a baby anda husband, but she's she's February eleventh,
and my son, Riley, isFebruary fifth. So I've got some
Aquarians in my family. Although you'remuch although my son's pretty warm and fuzzy.

(07:04):
I find most Aquarius to be alittle aloof some of them. Oh
yeah, yeah, yeah, that'sme. Oh it is yeah, Oh
that's good, right, yeah kindof yeah. Sure, I'm just like
in my own little world. Iwish I were a little more. But
if he says he's in his ownlittle world, I don't think people may

(07:25):
take that as a loof but Ithink but it's not, it's not.
He's very warm and and just lovely, lovely. Okay, so you got
the Michigan You won the Michigan Sportscasterof the Year award, and the Lions
won a playoff game for the firsttime in thirty two years. Oh my
gosh. I would trade in thataward for another playoff win this week.

(07:47):
Okay, but here's the crazy thing. Now we're sitting up in the press
box, so worse. We're atlevel seven. Oh my god, Oh
my god, what did you see? Funniest story? Okay, so I'm
in the elevator and it's crowded, yes, And we go to the third
I think it's a third or fourthfloor and they're like, you guys have

(08:09):
to get out. They kicked youout mid ride. Yeah, you have
to get out. That's odd.Did they say please? No, they
just said you guys have to getout right on the random floor. They
just like third four. And youwant to know why? Who got on?
Sheila? Sheila? I would haveI would have bowed to the queen

(08:31):
and rolled out the redpet. Funnyis that? Because I just said on
the last podcast, if they freakingkicked me out of the elevator because Kelly,
what's her face? Yeah, Thenall of a sudden, I started
laughing, And I told you whenI saw you, I have the funniest
story. And I didn't want totell you because it's like that funny that
I literally got kicked out of anelevator. No, and they weren't rude.

(08:54):
And I got out and I seeSheila and her family and I just
I started left. I'm like, this is so funny. What were they
doing on the third or fourth floorthough usually they come from the basement.
Yeah, No, we were goingup and Uh, yeah, we stopped.
I can't remember which floor it wasthird or fourth, and they're like,
you guys have to get off.God, she is such a badass.

(09:18):
Like that woman has reshaped this organizationhad to toe and she's also had
and she had a lot of helpand she made right. She after the
debacle that was previous regime in termsof coaching, she realized, we can't
this. No, we have tochange. It has to change. I

(09:39):
have to get football people in here. I have to rely on football people.
And that's what she did because itwas, Yeah, she didn't have
and that's why I know, andthat's why Dan Campbell, I think the
beginning of the season was very complimentary, praising Chris Bielman and his help and
all that other stuff. Remember thatat Mike Dinner. Yeah, so I

(10:03):
think Chris Spielman realized, I loveBrad Holmes, I need football people,
you know. And I think that'sreally what But and again I was kicked
off the elevator for her and herfamily, and I thought it was so
freaking funny. But anyway, SoI do have a Kelly Stafford story.
Can I share you? Fine?Fine? So she does obviously a podcast

(10:26):
with with Hank and and she wasalways pretty nice to me when she was
in town. Matthew was a littlealoof but I think he was kind of
like that with everyone, you know, he didn't want to let people too
far in. But I mean, always a friendly guy, you know,
say hello. But so I wascoming down after the game. I was
coming down. Well maybe he didn'twant to answer. No, of course

(10:48):
he didn't. But he can play. Let's just say he can play.
Yeah, taking anything away from hisskills, dude can play. He's got
a freaking missile for an arm.So I was coming down the elevator,
past the visiting locker room, theLion's locker room, down the stairs into
the tunnel and she was standing kindof in the tunnel there, and she
was actually standing with a local Detroitpolice officer. This woman, and I'm

(11:09):
blanking on her name. She's thecutest thing. She has like these beautiful
long lashes and dark brown black hair. She's the cutest cop. I love
her. And I can't remember hername, and I'm sorry that I can't,
because i'd love to, you know, shout her out. And she
was standing there with Kelly and theywere taking a picture and then Kelly saw
me and she's like, oh mygod, and she came up and she
gave me a big hog really andit was really nice and it was warm,

(11:31):
and she goes, you know what, and I said, sorry that
Matthew season had to end here likethis, and she said, I'm just
so happy for y'all. I hopeyou go win the whole thing. Okay,
okay, is though, Oh yeah, she gives great hugs, not
disingenuous, not that little one armlike lean in half aasted and Wojo always

(11:52):
like pats me on the back andI always say that is so disingenuous.
So now he makes a point ofdoing it just to mock. But but
yeah it was. And I literallyI turned and I walked and I thought,
you know what, I'm not goingto judge. I'm not going to
judge. I'm no more judgment ofpeople. I'm not going And those girls
are darling. Oh he's they havethe cutest kids, cutest freaking cutest kids.

(12:15):
But he's my favorite. But I'mjust not going to even say it.
Okay, But anyway, I justwanted to share that moment. Well,
thank you. I'm sure the audienceloves that, but the Okay,
so we're on the seventh floor andit was so loud in there. But
you realize that the volume it wasreached at one hundred and thirty three point
sixteen. So that happened. Didwe really set a new desk? Because

(12:39):
w Right and the CDC says, that's equivalent to the sound of a jet
Engineah right, oh crazy, thankyou. And yes it is really loud,
but when you're sitting that high upit doesn't sound as loud as ever.
Now when you're down on the field, it is far louder. Because
at the very end of the game, I had to go down because we
were doing a postgame show and Ihad to get like a little posted to

(13:00):
interview, and I went down onthe field. So rohnda, I cried,
you cried. I didn't expect itbecause I'm usually just like steady Eddy.
They win, they lose, ohand sixteen win eight in a row.
I just, you know, Ijust don't get emotionally involved with the

(13:20):
Lions. That was I don't.I never did a rule I set for
myself a long long time ago, although I used to get crazy, like
Jamie Samuelson would sit next to meand I would like bang on his leg.
When Barry would break a run,I'd be like, oh my god,
oh my god, you know, because he's so phenomenal. Well,
you know, it's funny because myfriends had asked me, so did you

(13:41):
have fun at the game, andI'm like, I was working. It
was it sounds like I was inthe freaking stance people do. And it's
like and my dad calls me,He's like, so did you have fun?
What do you think that. I'mlike, it's a game. That's
how I have to be. I'mjust I don't want to get emotionally involved
like you said, and I justyeah, well for the first time last

(14:03):
Sunday, Now, where did youcry? So I went down? This
was when I went down, Iknow, this is when I went down
with I think it was four minutesto go, so they had gotten to
their four minute offense and I didmiss the pass to amen Rad sadly,
but it was when they were justkind of like, you know, sealing
out the wind with the clock onoffense, which was phenomenal. That that

(14:28):
is the Detroit way. Now,it's amazing. Let's just end with the
hands so we don't have a camp. Sound's lucky he didn't get caught the
call. But anyway, go ahead. So we go down. I'm standing
on the sideline and it's really exciting, and I'm looking up at all the
fans. They're on their feet,so you're on the field. I'm on
the field, and it was I'mnot allowed. It was loud. Well

(14:48):
we are, you know, thehome of the Lions, and we were
doing a postcame blah blah blah blah. So I'm standing there and I'm looking
up at all the fans and I'mjust thinking, Wow, these people have
just and starved for this all theirlives, all your life. You're twenty
nine days old. My dad's eightysix. And then I'm looking at those
seven I'm looking at people like that. And my friend Lynn's dad, Ben

(15:11):
Cap, we can talk about him. He was on the Oh he's mister
em and M he is. Itwas so funny. I'm like they went
from EM and M to Benscap.Ben Cap sixty six years, season ticket
holder at gross Point. I thinkhe's gross Point Farms. That was so
because we laughed at that. I'mlike, oh my god, he's a
jam. Ben Cap didn't know. He's just as a legends Eminem. Dude,

(15:33):
he is now a bigger legend thanEminem. And he's actually going to
be on the NBC in the broadcastopen for NBC this week. So I
actually sent Mike Tarico his information lastweek and I said, hey, there's
anything you can do if they canget him on TV. You know,
his daughter is a friend of mine, and she's like, my dad has
seen every iteration of the Detroit Lions. He was at the fifty seven championship

(15:54):
game, and we would love tojust you know, give him a little
shine. And so I passed iton to Trico and he's like, okay,
what's a seat number? Like anhour later, he's like, what's
a seat number? And I'm like, okay, roll this seat, this
section whatever. And then another hourpasses and he sends me a picture and
he goes is this him? AndI'm like yes. So all of a

(16:15):
sudden, I'm like, okay,Lynn, don't get too fired up.
My god, that is so funny. NBC maybe putting him on the broadcast.
So just watch the game, recordthe game, and she's like I
am. And then as soon asI saw him up on the you know,
the screen and I was, Oh, I didn't se him on the
Jumbo tron. I saw him onthe screen from the broadcast. Oh no,
he was on the Jump show.Yeah, because they showed eminem who.

(16:37):
I got to be honest the beginning, I'm such a fan of his.
Now, I don't know why.I love that for you. I
really like him, he would likeyou. I've never met him. A
badass, I've never met him.I would like to meet him, but
I do like him. But Ithought that was I gotta be honest.
Well, first of all, youlisten to the same old podcast. I'm
around Toms at Ihart along with Jennifer. I am at Michigan sportscaster of the

(17:02):
Year, so proud. Woh heywait, oh no, so it's going
to tell you when I cried.Oh yeah, sorry, totally forgot No.
So it was, I know,I was like, we went off
on a tangent. Did anyone seeyou cry? Yes? So I was
standing there and I thought, wow, this is really cool. I was
really, you know, enjoying themoment for the fans, and I just

(17:23):
knew, being from Detroit, weknow what this means for these fans.
So I was standing there and thenall of a sudden, he took the
final knee and just people started runningon the field with their arms up,
and the fans were jumping up anddown, and I had goose I have
goosebumps right now just saying it,and tears just started to stream down my

(17:44):
face and I was like, ohmy god, I am really feeling this
and it was incredible. And mycamera guy was standing there, and then
we had to go out and getan interview and I'm talking to Jamier Gibbs,
That's who they gave me, andI'm like, oh my god,
you just got here. But I'vecovered this team for thirty years and I'm
crying, you know, I don'teven know. It was kind of an
out of body experience. I'm noteven sure what I asked him. I

(18:06):
just asked him about the moment, about the fans, the reaction, I'm
sure about Jared, And it wasso loud I could barely hear He's such
a soft spoken yet I could barelyhear his answers in that building. But
and then I saw Taylor Decker finishingup an interview with ESPN or somebody.
I was like, Taylor, please, and He's like absolutely, and he
came over and he kind of hadtears in his eyes, and I was
like, oh, well, he'sbeen here with the longest tenured one of

(18:29):
the last ten for Frank or Taylor. I love this for Dan Campbell.
I love this just for everybody, the fans, the fans, the fans
people are really really getting we'll geta good look and get to know who
Dan Campbell is and what he's allabout. Because sometimes you know, you
don't pay attention when you're not here, and now that they're on the big

(18:52):
stage and you know, people goback to kneecaps, but you see,
you know he's not. He's he'snot just like a big lug, you
know what I mean, Like heis he's a good coach. I mean
he is a good, really goodcoach. Players love to play for him,
and he lets his coach's coach aswell. And that's that's probably one
of the greatest testaments that we don'thear enough about it, right, he

(19:15):
just lets his guys coach. Andthe fact that he's brought so many former
players in here, that's a tremendousrecipe that he's got going on. I
was skeptical at the beginnings very skeptical. He is a human monster truck.
Let's just say that though he reallyis. I actually, in fact ran
into someone last night, a friend, and he's like, is he really
is Dane Campbell really that good aguy? Like, oh my god,

(19:38):
beyond like I've always known that, which really this team they haven't had that
kind of coach. I can't rememberthe last time. Now, it's an
entirely different recipe. So it's fantasticWayne Fonds, would you not the same
level? But Wayne was a player'scoach like Wayne's. Players loved Wayne and

(19:59):
they played for way. I meanthat was indicative by those runs they would
go on to close out the seasonlike they'd win seven eight in a row
to sneak into the playoffs at nineand seven. No, I think it
is respectful of everybody. That's thedifference. It really is. It really
is. It doesn't matter who youare. Even when he was barking at
Dave Burkette, he apologized afterwards afterthey lost the second I'm not mad at

(20:22):
you and Cowboys some other goods doyou. Yeah, But it's funny because
on Monday when he uh no,yesterday when he talked to the media,
the big question. Seriously that Iheard to all the players and to Dan
Campbell, is you know, doyou realize the big stage to this and
and just this is just who heis. I think that's great for everybody

(20:45):
to feel good and love where we'reat, and but for us, we
can't. We got to just staystay on the tracks here, stay on
the tracks. Stay on the hypetrain is going down. I going down
the tracks, all of the hypetrain. And now if you're a doubter,
too bad the trains rolled by.You can't get on. Now,
we don't want you on the train. Could I'd be honest with you about

(21:06):
something I can't. I like hearingthe different stories, but whatever, but
I can't stand all the talk.It just I gotta I gotta turn it
off. I can't take it.You mean, all the interviews and the
things that during the week. Yeah, I just fy, that's our business
better. No, no, no, no outstandings. I get not even
it's just all the analysis. Ineed to just get paralysis by analysis.

(21:29):
Just get me to the game andthen, yeah, it does get to
be a long week. I mean, you just have I just have to,
you know, kind of turn itoff. Yeah. Well, it's
it's it's so exciting to help.It is this has never happened. On
January eighteenth, whatever, only tohost one playoff game, but to host
another divisional round, Bucks coming intotown. Yeah, and they beat the

(21:52):
Bucks in Tampa Week six, twentyto twenty to nine, twenty to six,
twenty to six, Week six, twenty to seven. You know who
didn't play in that game? Youwant me to go to alphabetically or numerically,
go ahead, Brian Gibbs Branch,Jonah Jackson, Montgomery, Dintgomery got

(22:14):
hurt in the first half. Yeah, and CJ. Gardner Johnson didn't play.
I mean like they were missing somany guys, right, And and
the Bucks are a different team, what if they want six out of the
bus are a different team. Letme tell you something I was watching,
like a breakdown, a schematic breakdownof their defense. They're good and all
of the difference much better than theHoly shit. Yeh. And actually that

(22:38):
game when they went down to Tampa, I did not go. That was
my fortieth class reunion, and soI stayed home and I picked that as
a loss or I thought it wasgoing to be closer than it was.
I think I took the Bucks.I think the Bucks for getting some points.
Well, Baker wasn't doing anything,No, but I really really thought
that that defense was going to bea bigger problem for them, and it

(23:00):
was to a certain extent. Imean, that was their lowest offensive output
in the season, right, Twentypoints as the few as they've scored in
a game this year. I thinkso because I think they even scored.
They get to my notes. Oh, go to the notes. Ah,
let's see the Lions. Yeah, they averaged twenty twenty seven per game.
So yeah, and I think evenhigher at home. I think it might

(23:21):
be in twenty nine at home. But but what the Bucks did to the
Eagles, the Eagles are so bad. I mean it's just gross and half
points. I know that scares thehell out of me. So the Bucks
will be here, They're going tobe hosting their second playoff game, and
you know, I want to getto CJ because he had something to say.

(23:42):
Ah, which all this is special. I told y you'll beginning.
He is not the same Detroit. This ain't the same shit I used to
I love him. Oh my gosh, how did I miss that? But
that's because you were crying on theField. It's just a book, but
he did. And this was acouple I think it was a couple of

(24:04):
weeks ago where CJ got into astepped in it because he was talking about
the Bucks receiven core because we're askingabout the Rams. All the Bucks are
better and he and then he goes, well if they had a better quarterback.
Well, Baker Mayfield was asked aboutthat. This is what he had
to say. I don't think he'sreally watched film because he mentioned Russell Gage.

(24:26):
You know, we love Russell.Russell have to play a snaple year
for us. He must be goingoff the preseason stuff that the media was
talking about. But he didn't playour first game, so I'm excited to
see him. I think he's areally good player. He has been for
a while. He's been an impactfulguy on every team he's been on.
So he's a good player. Butyeah, he's gonna do a little bit
more film study. Oh boy,I got to ask you something. Yes,

(24:49):
where's all the trash talk? Thereis to be so much more trash
talking between teams and big games likethis, and now there's not no will
say anything. There's no bulletin boardmaterial and I will tell you CJ did
post something on Twitter, then tookit off, and he wouldn't talk yesterday.
Oh so he's just trying to keephis nose to the ground. Yeah,

(25:12):
they probably said CJ after the game, you can talk all you want.
Maybe I feel like the Lions teamdoesn't. I feel like this Lion's
team doesn't do that. I don'tthink they muzzled their players. I think
he's no. I'm just saying right, But but I want to know why
isn't there more trash talking? Therereally isn't. I don't hear it unless

(25:33):
I'm not paying attention. But Ifeel like there was more back in the
day when they were these big games. I liked when Lomas guaranteed the win
over Philly. Yeah, you knowwhat I mean. Like, I just
I don't know. They just peopleare afraid to have built bulletin board material
that it'll come back to bite themin the ass. But at the end

(25:55):
of the day, does that reallymatter with grown men in a grown man's
lead. No, But it's funny. It is enjoyable. It is enjoyable.
Well, and I once upon atime we used to go to ann
Arbor during Ohio State we can alwaysthink, Okay, who's gonna say what?
Right, where are we going toget? You know, the great
quote, and people don't do itas much anymore just because it goes viral.

(26:18):
Yeah, it goes viral in tenseconds. So that's probably part of
that, right exactly, So Imisspoke. I said that the twenty points
the Lions scored against the Bucks wastheir fewest the season. It wasn't even
close. They only scored six againstthe Ravens and the right they scored what
was it against, thirteen against theBears in Chicago on December tenth, so

(26:41):
it was their third Oh, andthey scored nineteen against the Cowboys. Actually
did they Hey, let's go backto that game. So I know that
we went on and on about thatcall and the Taylor Decker right in the
end, I think perhaps the restdid the Lions a favor. Well,
that's what I'm saying. You can'tto me, it goes both ways.

(27:03):
Like people were bitching about Taylor Deckerdidn't get called this and all evens out
Oh no, no, no,I'm speaking in the full game sense that
if the Lions would have won, they would have hosted Green Bay first round
and let me tell you, Iwant to want to play now. They
looked great against the Cowboys. ThosePackers are going to be a tough out

(27:25):
and I know everybody's like, oh, come on, They're never gonna be
at San Francisco. I think they'regonna give him a lot run for their
money. Yeah, I think so. I San Francisco has. San Francisco
is not gonna do what the Cowboysdidn't do. Right, They're gonna get
to Jordan Love. They're not gonnalet him sit in that pocket and roam
around. They will get to him. And so that's, to me,

(27:47):
is the difference. And I thinkthe San Francisco they're off. Listen,
the Cowboys put up thirty two, right, and it wasn't even that close.
Yeah that day, No, itwas garbage. Yeah. But I
just think the forty nine Ers arejust a complete team, you know what
I mean, Like, I don'tthink they're sure, they're completely you know.
And I think they are the bestteam in the NFC, obviously,

(28:08):
because I think absolutely, I think, Yeah, I think I think Ravens
Niners will be the super Bowl. But you never you have the eight best
team. Never eight best teams areleft, right, let's think. Gosh,
I just still the box. TheNFC South, Oh, they're awful.
It could have been the Saints. The Saints. The Saints were there,

(28:30):
they were in that line of inthe playoffs for now, and then
everyone lost. Or even the Seahawksthey were bad too, you know.
So I mean, well, theygot injured, they got very injured.
Yeah, when they came here andbeat the Lions, let me tell you
that I was looking past them slightlyin that home opening loss. But the

(28:52):
funniest thing about uh that I heardRhonda, I do you know I cou
could have fun in a dark closetby my shelf. AnyWho, Okay,
you and I know that. Well. I know I can't speak for you,
but I have asked several dumb questionsin my career and this one and

(29:17):
I don't want I don't like callingout. Can we call it uninformed?
It's more of an uninformed question.Uninformed. But man, I'm looking forward
towards Detroit. The weather, It'sbeen a factor in some of the playoff
games, even for the most preparedteams. Today is thirteen in Detroit,

(29:38):
which doesn't compare to some of thetemperatures, to any special plans to acclimate
the team to not only endure, but perform in those comforted temperatures should you
face them in Detroit. You doknow we play indoors, right as a
dot. I don't no nothing planned. We're indoors and we have to be

(30:03):
outside for twenty seconds getting off thebus going under the thing, so we'll
be okay. I think Tad Bowleswas a little dumbfounded by the question,
and he was trying to be veryI will say he was polite about it.
Twenty seconds outdoors. I wouldn't imaginehe probably looked at it and goes,
seriously, really, I just feelsorry for that person that it's been

(30:26):
like a pylon. It's all overthe country. I don't think that's right,
because listen, I remember I was. I think it was justin Verlander,
and you know what a douchebag hecould be. And I was asking
him a question and it was themost long It was a long winded question.
I had no idea where I wasgoing, what I was doing,

(30:47):
and I was seriously it sounded likea moron. And he looked at me
and goes, could you repeat thequestion? And I look at him,
I go no, because I don'thave no idea what I'm talking about.
What did he say to that?He laughed? You had to laugh because
I was like, I knew whatAnd I was just like all over the
place. I'm like, God,I'm a freaking idiot. I don't know.

(31:08):
You know, sometimes that happens. But she was her conviction about thinking
that they were playing outdoors. I'mdon't get that. I feel so sorry
for her. I did you andI didn't. I didn't even want to.
I just wanted to say the question. But when I heard the whole

(31:29):
thing, I'm like, yeah,I have to. I'm sorry. Yeah.
So in her defense, right,we found out she was a photographer,
Yeah, I heard. I wastold, right, Zach that she
wasn't a heard she was a newsreporter. But perhaps, Zack, Yeah,
I heard otherwise that she was avideographer. Okay, and she was

(31:52):
just filling in the position. Thatcould be wrong, but you know,
and she is you know sometimes youknow, now Organiza NW organizations just sent
a photographer and they put their micthere. And maybe she was told ask
a question, and she knew howcold it was here, didn't realize that
the Lions play indoors. Thank youfor that anyway. So, yes,

(32:15):
they play indoors, and that wasa big thing that went viral. And
I do feel bad for her becauseyou know, I just do. Yeah,
I'm trying to find there's not reallymuch information on this person's identity.
Well that's because I don't think she'sa reporter. I think she's a photographer.

(32:35):
So but again, I think youshould know that they play indoors,
or maybe she should have asked, because you know, yeah, it was
something. It was a moment. It was a moment. But okay.
So the other day I saw thatJason Priestley was on some show okay,

(32:57):
and I started laughing face nine Otwo one, Oh are you okay?
So Jason Priestley back in four washere in Detroit at a Tiger's game.
And when I got wind, Iwas doing pregame. Uh you know,
clubhouse was open, and I saidto whoever the pr I said, will

(33:17):
you let me know when Jason Priestleywalks in because I want to interview him.
I love him. Nine O twoone, Oh, Brandon, Hello,
Well, I'm interviewing Damien Easley.I'm mid question. I get a
tap. He's here. I leftin mid right, I'm sorry, you

(33:42):
gotta go. Well, here's thefunniest part. So I go out in
the hall and I said to Jason, I'm like, oh my god,
I'm so excited. You know,I was a fangirled out. I don't
care. And I said to himand I said to him, so,
why are you here? How didyou get here? Like? What was?
He looked at me and he goes, I drove. Oh my god,

(34:04):
you're a moron. I'm like,no, no, no, no,
no, like, why are youwhy? I mean, what brings
you to Detroit? And then hewell, you probably could have asked the
question better one. We're gonna haveto make you. We're gonna have to
make you go viral again. Ohdid you get here a car? I'm
like, how did you? Like? Why here? And I and he
goes, I drove and I'm like, oh my god, I have I'm

(34:27):
like started laughing. I'm like,no, no, no, no,
no, why are you? Andhe was I think it was in Windsor.
He's a he like he's a bigrace car driver. And I think
I did know that and he one, yes, yes, so he was
doing but he's very nice. AndI just laughed because I hadn't thought about
nine years and then I saw him. Is he Canadian? I don't know,
but he was very nice. Itwas you know, it was very

(34:49):
nice. But when he said Idrove, I'm like, oh my god.
It was very funny. And thenDamien Easily he was mad at me.
He's like, that was so rude, Like he chastised me. I
to write an apology letter. Itwas a joke, but I had to.
He goes, you better write mean apology letter. Oh, you
know, that team was so awful. It was like, you know what,
yeah what I can't even remember. That was the loss that was one

(35:13):
hundred and seven losses or something. It was, Oh, I don't know,
it was like, oh, twooh three. I can't remember.
But it was when Damien Easily,uh fic I think was on the team,
Bobby Higginson. That team was amess. So it really it was
like a circus. It really was. It was a zoo, right,
my monkey, not my circus.Anyway, I just felt the need to

(35:36):
tell that story because I just thoughtit was funny. Anyway, Okay,
so they're playing the box six anda half point favorite. Would you say
this is the path to the NFCChampionship game. This is how it played
out. I'm just saying, likeit will be the path. It is
the path to right the path. But I'm just saying, it's like it

(35:57):
couldn't have happened, It couldn't haveworked out better. Oh yeah, absolutely.
So that's how the Packers did theLions a huge favor. The Rest
did the Lions of favor by makingit so that they didn't have to get
the Packers in the first round. The Packers did the Lions a huge favor
by beating Dallas or Detroit could havea second. And then the und did
the Lions of favor by winning inSan Francisco in San Francisco and them coming

(36:22):
outwhere and that whole thing. Andagain I believe they can beat the Bucks.
The consistency of this team's medal rightnow, yes, is their superpower.
But I think what Dan Campbell said, it's like, no, we
can't. We can't think of anythingelse except on the train, stay on

(36:47):
the tracks. That's that's why it'slaser focus, and that's what they have
to do. They can't, youknow, they can't pat themselves on the
back and they want they can't readthe clippings. They can't do any of
that because if they do, it'sgoing to be a long day on Sunday.
I know they've been looking at socialmedia because there's just been so many
images of fans crying and people.Well, Jared Goff, I was listening

(37:09):
to his present and he was sonot testy, like mean, but just
like it was all the questions about, oh, you must be relieved not
have to answer those questions about theRams and blah blah blah, and he's,
you know, and he's excited becauseyes, he beat his former team
that traded him, that basically kickedhim to the curve, didn't want him

(37:31):
anymore. But it was all thosequestions and I think he was trying to
say, yes, we're focused,we know, we're happy, and we
have there's still a job to do, you know what I mean. They've
said that from day one, andthey were saying that in the locker room.
David Montgomery said that in the lockerroom twenty minutes after the win over

(37:52):
the Rams, that this is justone there's a lot more work to be
done. And I loved that.Campbell said. I think it was something
in exchange he had maybe with atweet with Monday Morning Quarterback or something that
he said, I have unwavering faithin Jared Goff in the most critical moments,
and that is really could I playyou something because this was my favorite

(38:14):
thing from the locker room. Okay, I'll just say it like this.
Hey, you're good enough for Detroit, Jed. Hey, Hey, I
love and appreciate you guys more thanyou can know. I promise you that
I love you guys so much. This is just the beginning, boys,

(38:34):
this is just the beginning. Wegot three more of these next week at
home at our place. Agains, whoever wants to come in here, let's
go. That was my favorite. It was it was my favorite. It
was good enough for Detroit, Jaredgo exactly exactly. And uh yeah,
So it's just it'll be it'll belouder, even louder on Sunday. It's

(38:57):
gonna be. It's gonna be insane. And I don't want to get too
far ahead of us ourselves, butmy god, I just win this game
and they're going to the NFC Championship. Are you going to be balling on
now you've done? I think Ithink it's out. I think all the
emotion. I think it was justthat the poignancy of that moment getting over
that. How many twenty five thirtyfirst season? This is my third,

(39:21):
crazy because they started so when Icame to DFS. When I came so
I was raised here obviously, wentto Western Michigan, then went to Chicago
for six years after college, cameback here in ninety four to work at
WDFN, and that is the firstseason. Yeah, well no, actually,
I mean, let me tell you. The nineties were electric because they
went to the playoffs. I thinkin ninety five, ninety six, ninety

(39:45):
eight, and ninety nine. Maybewhen was the kick? When was the
Paul Eddinger kick? Was that twothousand? I was living in I was
pregnant when they fired, you know, when Mohler took over, when Bobby
Ross. Yeah, and then Iwas and Matt Millan came in, So

(40:06):
that must have been two thousand.I believe Matt Millan came in in two
thousand and I was pregnant. Yeah, crazy stuff. So yeah, so
I mean we're two thousand and one. Anyway. Oh yeah, Marty morning
Wig was hired. Actually I thinkhis press conference was the Friday be Monday
section and I was taking action onmy baby. If people thought it was

(40:30):
going to be a boy or agirl, how much it was going to
weigh. The bar is high.Yeah, the bar was high, not
really. Two thousand was the PaulEddinger kick. There you go. It
will be electric down at Ford Fieldon Sunday again Sunday three o'clock. Wall
to wall Pregin coverage on Fox two. You're home for lines. You're listening

(40:52):
to the same old podcast. I'mround Moss at iHeart Sports Network along Jennifer
Hammond, Fox too, Michigan Sportscasterof the Year award winner. Thanks for
the vodka, by the way, you're so welcomed again, a bourbon Tito's.

(41:12):
I went with the titos. Yeah. I'm also starting to go by
Have you ever had eight Mile vodka? No? Some good stuff. Never
heard of it. It's good, all right. So I will see you
Sunday. Give me a score,give me let's. I don't prediction.
I don't do predictions. I can't, I never did, and I never
will and I'm not starting now.I think the Lions are going to win
by five, so I would besaying I'm going to take the bucks in

(41:35):
the point six and a half's alot to lay at this level of the
playoffs divisional round. I don't thinkthe Lions will rest on their laurels.
I do think that the offense isgoing to be challenged by that pass rush.
I think there's going to be alot to just got to keep the
last week, got to keep JGupright. But boy, I'm running the

(41:57):
ball. They had issues last week. They did, they did, but
well, at first they ran itreally well. I mean that first drive
was but I was surprised when itwas only fifty sixty yards. It was.
Yeah, both teams finished well underone hundred, but that first opening
drive was a thing of beauty.Five runs, five pass, boom boom,
five seventy or fifty fifty one yardsit was. It was a thing

(42:21):
of beauty. And I think thatthey will be able to run the ball
a little bit. But then, boy, the Rams made some adjustments,
but shut them down, and they'vegot to get a takeaway. They've got
to force Baker into some silly throws. They have to come out fast in
the second half because they only scoredthree points and or just scoring your first
three drives, and I think you'llbe okay too like they did last week,

(42:43):
touchdown, touchdown, touch right, but the second half and hold them
to field goals second right. Thatgame reminded me of the Bears game when
they were all they did out ofthe game zero for three in the red
zone for the Rams, three andzero in the red zone for the Lions.
Right. If they can get asimilar recipe and maybe a takeaway or
two against the Bucks this week,I say they win. They're gonna win

(43:05):
by five. Maybe it's gonna betwenty seven to twenty two. Zach,
what about you? I'm going seventeenthirteen. Why low and ugly? Grind
it out? No, I won'tdo it. I have never done it,
and I've never done it. No, I just it wasn't my thing.
Not my thing? Come on,can't I hope? So ye of

(43:37):
little freaking faith. I'm just youknow what, I'm just who I am
either your yeam, And that's that'sall. That's all that it is.
I love you, and I thankyou both for the warm reception today,
wonderful vibe. I love you andso for having me again. And it's

(43:57):
yeah, it's great. It's agood time to be a woman in Detroit.
