Oh yeah. O'Brien and Psycha were both single and interested
in the other, but under the impression that the feeling
was not reciprocated, and this carried out intil A mutual
friend asked them, why don't you guys just go out
on a date together and figure it out. Stop making
the rest of us feel awkward. So they decided to
visit Van's Beach, which is Lelandald County north of Traverse City. Yeah,
(00:58):
the hopeful couple kind of decided that they were going
to go and try to find Leland bluestones not suit.
You know, it's going to take you a while. Something
kind of fun to do for the first date. But
at one point, Brie pointed to a spot on the
beach which was right next to the water, and she goes,
that looks like it's really dangerous, and Mitchell didn't realize
(01:19):
she was referring to a singular spot. He thought that
she meant the whole area, so he ended up like
turning around and walking kind of right into it, sinking
immediately up to his waist. It was the second time
that he had been caught in quicksand throughout his life. Fortunately,
he was able to remain calm and think of a
(01:41):
plan after trying to dig the sand out from under
his waist for only it to be replenished. I mean,
we all are familiar with how quicksand work.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, it works.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Brianna tried to help pull him out. That also failed,
so the two had to call nine to one to one.
At one point the operator thought that they were telemarketers
and hung up on them. But neither here nor there.
At the end of it, Mitchell, this is bold, he said,
I think my girlfriend is trying to call me. She's
(02:10):
like twenty feet away and she's saying, my boyfriend is
here stuck in the sand.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
It was their first date.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
They dtyard in the quicksand.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
I mean, that's how you can know. That's how you know.
It's like a real response though it's like, hey, we
might not make it out of sand. You want to
do this or what?
Speaker 2 (02:27):
This was in April, so it was like the temperatures
were cold. It was chilly. They were on the beach
Lake Michigan. But you know, all's well, that ends well
because they both He got out of the quicksand he's okay,
good and they walked away from that in a relationship.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
There's so much to unpack here. I know. I didn't
realize first off, there was quicksand anywhere in Michigan. I
thought that was make believe in like Disney movies. That
is a real life thing that I just learned about today.
And also how wild is that that they so, how'd
you guys meet Quicksand he was dying and I said,
(03:02):
you want to do this? Or maybe I just don't
hit scent.
Speaker 2 (03:05):

their wedding one day.
