Speaker 1 (00:02):
Here are three things you should know today. A Detroit
high schooler facing deportation after being pulled over on the
way to a field trip. The eighteen year old was
driving without a license when police discovered he had a
prior deportation order. Now he is in Ice custody just
three and a half credits, shy of graduation. Community members
in his lawyer urging Ice to let him finish school

(00:24):
and self deport with his mom instead of separating the family.
Two campers found dead at a remote campground on Isle
Royal National Park over the weekend. Rangers had to hike
eleven miles overnight to reach the site confirm this on
early Monday. The cause of death has now been released,
the investigation still ongoing. Big Blue making waves again in

(00:47):
Grand Haven, historic nineteen forty seven vessel that has been
fully restored and is now offering scenic two hour cruises
on Lake Michigan, the Grand River and Spring Lake just
thirty five bucks a ticket.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
That's so bad.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
This would be like the perfect summer date night because
passengers can bring their own snacks.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
At an uncrustable, enjoy live music on board. I also
love that, and of course, soak up all the summer sunsets.
Big Blue is going to cruise through October.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yeah, that sounds like a great night.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Mm hmm. That's three things you should know. Here is
one you probably shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
According to the New York Post, the gen Z the
gen Z excuse Me is against opening up bar tabs
in general. And here's why bartenders are actually really mad
about this, because gen Z's refusal to open up a
bar tab leaves zero room and makes it tougher for

(01:41):
tips because they've opened up the bar tab or there's
no bar tab so you're ordering one and done and
then you're out, So the tips are much smaller and
aren't as bigger because they're they're leaving, or because they're
only doing those Oh I.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
See, you're leaving a tip per instead of a tip
per tab.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Yes, it's they're not opening up tabs, but as one
patron said, closing on the tab does not mentally stop
you from indulging because you.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Don't have easy access to it.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Also, gen Z's gen Z has become used to one
and done transactions, many using Apple Pay and simply tapping
their phones rather than for a purchase, rather than using
a phiscical card. I like the idea of not opening
up a bar tab. I like the Apple Pay. I
actually liked the Apple Pay in general. I'm not gen z,
I'm millennial.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
But do you use tap to pay?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
You do more than I probably have ever in my
life now. And I think it's because my card is
on the very last leg, so like the numbers are
scratched off, and I think the scan bars scratched off,
and like I need to get a new one here,
I think in September. But the tap is just so
quick and so easy.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yimmy uses the tap to pay. Yeah, he's like just
his phone, Like he uses that everywhere.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Like, yeah, he can same.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
I don't because I feel like I spend more money
when I tap to pay. However, I was at TJ
Max or home Goods or something the other day and
I forgot my TJ Max card and of course I
have one, and they were like, did you know you
can add it to your Apple wallet and tap to
pay and now it's my TJ Max car artisan tap

(03:14):
to pay.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
I got a problem, man, It's it's the most convenient
thing in like Myers and like a grocery Star Walmart,
and then where's the other place.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I used that Planet Fitness the other day too.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
It with just a phone, not having because I have
a I have a bulky wallet, like I have a
George Costanza wallet, so like it's so much, it's I
don't like carrying my wallet in general.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, we got to get you a money clip.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yeah, probably I gotta have money first, but a clip
for my cards.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Be naughty.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Three sports, Uh Tigers beat Baltimore yesterday five to three.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
