It's the baby Faces podcast on iHeart Radio.

Speaker 5 (00:36):
Power by ninety.

Speaker 6 (00:37):
Seven to five WAMZ, Kentucky, Anda's number one four country.
I am your host, Austin Montgomery. You already know that
Billy is probably gonna be out for a while. He's
going to try to make his returns here and there
a football season. He's moved back home and he's going
through a lot right now. So we'll have him on whenever.
But we have a couple special guests here. My man
Vigilante Talks is going to be joining me as we

(01:00):
welcome one of the hottest free agent signings this year.
You all know him as Ricoche from A E W A.
And how you doing, Ricochet? I want to let you
know this. We were talking before the show. This is
your second time on our podcast, so that officially makes
you a friend of the show.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
There we go, I'm a veteran. I'm a veteran.

Speaker 6 (01:21):
Well, we thank you for having us on here. Man,
We'll just go ahead and get you a quick start off.
You are going to be kind of like a homecoming here.
You're a small town with duca kid returning back to Lexington.
It's going down aw Dynamite and rampage this Wednesday at
Rupp Arena. Any tell fans they expect about that show,
especially off such a hot and what some people have

(01:43):
been calling a controversial AE w all out this past weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, I mean that's the thing. It gets. It gets
pretty crazy over here.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I mean we really like to give the fans a
different perspective, you know. But yeah, I mean I feel
like all in and all out both I think delivered
big time.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
And I think.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Those shock moments helped add you know, like when you
go see a movie and it just you know, like
Saw or something, and you know it helps add to
the story of what.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
They're trying to tell.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
So I think, uh, you know, I think the dynamite
I think here in Lexington, I think it's going to
get pretty wild. I think there's some things that's going
to go on and fringing with We got Will Osprey,
that's talking crap. We got packed, let's talk and craft already.
So uh yeah, I mean, aw tikes, get them right now.
You know, I'm saying to get it go.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
I want to start by saying that I am so
glad that you are where you're at right now. I
think with a talent like yours, this is the best
place to showcase it because they're really good.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Are showcasing your type of talent. Oh we know the story,
the history between you and Will.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Yeah, that's a banger of a match no matter when
guys is at right.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
My question to you is I sidh for Will from
the from.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
The current roster, who are you looking forward to getting
into rings?

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I mean, the way I see it, it's feels like
people have already lined up to get in the ring
with me, you know, I mean the way I see it,
whether it's Osprey.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Or Pack or.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Kyle Fletcher or whoever, it is like it seems like
people are already lined up to show that they're better
than me. So it's not about who I want to
it's about everybody apparently wants to be in the ring
with me apparently, So that's where I'm at right now.
So whoever wants to step up first really.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
Great and we're ae W is almost like the dream
match heaven. There's just so many people on there that's
made their name and other wrestling industries from either like
Ring of Honor or any sort of any independent wrestlers
all over the world that they've loved to see that
they've never really gotten Showcase. So what's it like to
kind of be on there and represent that and kind

(03:58):
of give AW that sort of fresh look in that
department and other dream matches that you could create.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's the That's kind of
the thing with AW right now, is the the freshness,
the newness, the the what ifs, because it is so new,
so there is so much that there is out there
to be to be done, as far as matches and stories.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
And everything to be happened. So yeah, I mean, the way.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I see it is, I'm just the new guys ready
to like make a splash.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
So I just I want to, you know, do everything
that I can.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
To help them grow and again, being so new they've
already did so much growing. They've already grown so much
within the five years that they've already been going. So
if I can help that in any way and to
be able for this company to showcase the style of

(04:52):
art that I really want to produce is awesome. So
if we can work together and you all Elite Wrestling
and Ricochet can really make a great mixture of what
we're both trying to produce for our fans, then I
think it's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Now that you mentioned.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
You mentioned that for dudes working together and stuff like
that right on my on my social media a few
months ago, I did.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
I did a video Austin correct me if I'm wrong.
It was about six seven months ago where I see
that fans.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Really love and missed Prince schoolwork correct and and how
it's always been like you some sort of you've always
been like on the babyface.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Side of of the roster.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Do you have you considered going heel or the idea
of turning heel at a wine.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
I think everybody just kind of isn't an extension of
who makes feel they are. So I feel like, for
for me, for example, I'm not afraid to tell somebody
to shut up and smack them in their mouths, you
know what I mean. But at the same time, I
feel like the steps that we could take before we
get there, So.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
The good guy, bad guy, blah blah.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Blah blah, that's all, that's all just within the bad person.
I feel like there aren't really good guys and bad guys.
I mean, for today, people like, it's stand out to
bad guys. Some people don't think so, it's kill monger
bad guys. Some people don't think so, you know. So

(06:33):
it depends. Like everyone's got their story and how they
tell it. People can resonate with that. So maybe one
of these days my story will be told differently than
how I feel now. Maybe I will feel differently later,
so who knows. But right now, I feel great, I
feel good, and really it's gonna it's it's hard to
really get me down. It's always been hard to since
my in my real life, my wrestling life, it's hard

(06:55):
to get me down. It's hard to really get on
my bad side. Sure, I will, I will commute, municate
with you, and I will we talk about it, and
we will we'll fight if.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
We need to. But I don't know I've always kind
of been.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
If not for the fans and if not for the people,
I wouldn't be where I'm at. So I'm not afraid
to toust like Wheel our Spray or or whomever it is.
We we got a problem. We can squash it right now. However,
you need to watch it. So the good guy, bad guy,
It's just it's different, you know who. It's all how
you feel in the moment, and I might feel differently later.

Speaker 6 (07:32):
Yeah, So whoever wants to whoever wants to step up
to Rick Achet, and if you're willing to do it
this Wednesday at a E W Dynamite, it's going to
be going down at rupp Arena.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
It's the baby Faces Awesome.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
I'm with my man Vigilanti talks and of course we
got our dude, Rick Achet, and you mentioned earlier or
all in and then as we kind of sort of
talked about how you know you're no stranger to performing
in front of a big audience, You've done it all
around the world. What was it what kind of stood
out for your debut at aw and what was it
like kind of just being in London and Wembley and

(08:04):
performing in that stadium. What was what was a aw
all land like for you?

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Yeah, man, Wembley was amazing.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
It really, it just it really gave that big feel,
that big show feel, the big fight feel.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
It really did.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
And man, really the locker rooms make things different. Both
locker rooms are great. I've known people here in alilit
for man, most probably my whole career. I've known a
lot of these guys my literally my whole career, the Chuck,
Taylors and some of those guys since day one.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I've known. So it was honestly a pretty easy transitions.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
It was pretty smooth for me to transition over. Everyone
still did like I haven't seen a lot of these
guys in five, six, seven years, maybe longer. Yeah, but honestly,
it was kind of like I saw them last weekend.
It was like we we took we started right back
where we left off. So that's been kind of and

(09:06):
it's just obviously the environments are different, so that those
are different. But really, at the end of the day,
like I've had fun my whole career and this is
just going to reignite that spark that that was still
that fire that still was there, but it just needed
some gasoline to throw on it, you know, ignite it bigger,
and I think AW is going to be that gasoline.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
I agree, believe it or not, I agree.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
I said that whenever whenever you popped out and the
crowd went crazy, I went crazy and.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
My wife told me to calm down because I started
throwing stuff around the house.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
I love it. I love that I got really hip.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
I was marking out. I could could I'm honestly saying
I was marking out. I have a question that kind
of works at two questions, right, because we know right now,
by now you're probably one of those people that has
some of the most viral moments when it comes to
when it comes to wrestling and bring performances. So my

(10:02):
question is, right, what is the biggest challenge you have
as a high flywer? And also is it a challenge
for you to say, somebody expecting for me to do
something crazy to have a viral moment in this match.
Do you go into your performances thinking that way?

Speaker 1 (10:21):
No, I don't.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
I've never once gone into any performance thinking that I have.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
To meet the fans expectations of something, not in any
rude way.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Like It's not like I you know, everything I do
is for the fans obviously, but I don't go into
the match thinking I have to do this for the fan.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
I'm now, I don't. I don't.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I just go into it with the with my mindset
of really like how can I put on the best performance,
but not necessarily what moves do I have to do
to you know what I mean? Just the performance in general. Uh,
most of the moves that I've done, I've been doing,
Like whether it's in Japan or the Independen scene or

(11:04):
in WWE or in AEW or wherever.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
My move set has kind of been the same. I
have not changed.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Even in the WWE, I was doing springboard four fifties
across the thing onto the announced tables. I was doing
double moon sauce off the cage. I was doing six
thirty springboard shooting stars.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I was, I mean, what else? Do you know what
I mean?

Speaker 2 (11:25):
So as far as that goes, I don't really have
any pressure on I don't put pressure on myself to
do that.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
I do put pressure on myself to.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Like you just said, like you you went crazy and
you were throwing stuff because you had a feeling inside
like I want to get people a good feeling about
what they're seeing, but not necessarily do I put the
pressure on myself to do a specific move or do
something crazy. So yeah, I just I do, but I
do want to give them a feeling. I do want

(11:56):
them to leave the building remembering rincochet, because especially here, aw,
everybody can do so much cool stuff, So.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
I go about it.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
I just want them to walk away remembering something that
they did, whether it is a move or it is
somehow my selling or the feeling, whatever it is.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
I do want to give them a feeling, but I
don't put that pressure on myself.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Really focus.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
More on the whole of the performance overall, and not
just I want to go in there and make this
particular move, which is also because we could see it
throughout the match, like it's not just we waiting for
that moment, it's like we know it's going to be
a banger, So yeah, we're paying attention. And I, as
a fan, I could appreciate well.

Speaker 6 (12:45):
Yeah, yeah, dude, that's most certainly appreciated. Everything that you've
done for the sake of all the fans entertainment out there,
and that's what pro wrestling is all about. And of
course you can find That's what AW is all about.

of the list.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
I mean, I've for even before I even got to Vegas,
whatever I've been wanting to see Bruno Mars for a
long time, forever, so that one's on the top of
the list of just concerts.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
I've seen in general. It was so much fun. It
was amazing.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
I would suggest if anybody has the opportunity, I said,
go see Bruno Mars.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
It was awesome.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
You could I even you know, you could see you
could even see like Jennifer Lopez and you could see
Voice the men down there and they were having a
good time.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
So it was awesome. But I mean we've seen a
lot of stuff.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
We've seen magic shows, We've seen comedy shows.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
We saw Chris Tucker. Chris Tucker was awesome.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
But we see everything we go to see. We've seen
like Chris Angel, We've seen Donnie Osman. We've seen so
many Little Perry Fader. There's so much stuff that we've seen.
We've seen Usher. Usher was awesome.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
Oh yeah, but.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Uh, I mean Usher was great. Bruno Mars is still
up there. I mean there's still more to see. There's
there's so much stuff that's awesome. I love going to
see show.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 6 (14:46):
I get to see Bruno Mars last year. He's a
part of Bourbon and Beyond and he headline and he
was a baby face and it was such a he
came out to twenty four Carrot Magic.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
So it lays started with a boom.
