Good morning, Good morning, Good morning. I am Sherry Mackie,
and it's time for us to go to God in
prayer and today on this Good Friday, as we reflect
on what Good Friday really means. When I think about
this holy day, when I think about the compassion and
the passion of Christ, when I think about Jesus carrying

(00:22):
his cross to Calvary, I'm deeply moved. I'm deeply grateful,
Lord Jesus Christ. On this solemn day, we come before
you in reverence sightlens, remembering the weight of the cross
you forth for us. Today, God, we just take time
to not rush ahead to resurrection, but to stay right

(00:44):
here with you in the pain, in the suffering, in
the stillness. You were wounded for our transgression. You were
boothed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace
was upon you. By your stripes. We are healed and
we're grateful for God. On this good Friday, on the

(01:05):
day that went dark, when the sun refused to shine,
you chose to surrender instead of escape. You chose mercy
instead of vengeance. You chose love instead of power. You
hung between earth and heaven, offering forgiveness to those who
nailed you there and paradise to a thief who simply believed. Lord,

(01:26):
we confess we've often turned our backs on you, ignored
the cries of the suffering, and chosen comfort over courage. Lord.
Forgive us. Lord today, let us remember the cross so
that we don't take lightly the price you paid for
our redemption. Jesus, you bore our shame so that we
could walk in grace. You were silent before you were

(01:47):
accuse it so that we can speak boldly of your love.
You died abandoned so that we could never be alone. God,
teach us the sacredness of surrender. Help us to carry
our own crosses. Not in bitterness. God, been in obedience
to you. Show us how to love like you love.
Show us how to forgive like we've been forgiven. Show
us God how to serve with humility. Today we remember

that it is finished, not because evil triumph, but because
you did what the enemy meant for evil. God, you
turn that thing around for all of our good. So
we wait at the foot of the cross God, grieving,
watching pray, not as those that don't have hope God,
but as those that know that Sunday is coming. God,

(02:31):
the resurrection is coming God. But today God, we want
to linger here and honor your sacrifice, letting your love
reshape us and redeem us. Lord Jesus crucified for us. God,
we adore you, we appreciate you, and today God, we

take the time to just say thank you and Jesus name. Amen.
