I am Sherry, Maggie, and it's time for us to
go to God in prayer, and as always I ask
that you join me in prayer. You know, I think
about the fact that Jesus is our example, and he
always modeled humility, and the word of God consistently tells
us to humble ourselves and then God will exalt us.

(00:23):
And how pride comes before a fall. So today I
want to just pray about him, Heavenly Father, in the
name of Jesus Christ. We come before you today with
hearts longing to be more like Jesus, to be gentle,
to be lowly, to be filled with grace. In a
world that praises pride and self promotion. God teach us
the beauty and the strength of true humility, and not

that false humility. God, true humility. Lord Jesus, you are
our example, and you took on the form of a servant,
humbling yourself to the point of death, even your death
on the cross, knelt to wash the feet of your disciples,
including the one you knew. What betray you, Ah, What

(01:07):
a savior you are, what a model you are to us?
Help us, Lord, to lay down our pride, our self righteousness.
Help us to strip away every part of us that
seeks approval and recognition and control. Let us not think
more highly of ourselves than we ought to, nor lower
than is true. Let us see us through your lens,

(01:29):
not through somebody's criticism or through our own self righteousness.
Teach us God to listen more than we speak, to
serve more than we are served. To lift others rather
than to seek the spotlight. Let us find joy in
being unseen, unnoticed, and then fully accepted by You. God.

(01:50):
When we're attempted to compare, remind us that your love
is not earned. When we want to be first, remind
us God, you called the last bliss. When we feel
the urge to defend ourselves, God, remind us that you
stayed silent before your accusers, trusting the Father to vindicate you.
Lord God, Today we confess the moments when we put

(02:13):
ourselves at the center. Forgive us God for every time
we've sought to build our own kingdom rather than your words.
Creating us God a clean heart, renew a right spirit
within us, Show us God our heart, show us ways
that we displease you. Let humility not just be a
word we speak, but a life that we live. Let
it shape our relationships, our work, our prayers, even our thoughts. God,

(02:35):
let it not come from effort alone, but from complete
surrender to You, Holy Spirit. Make us a weird moment
by moment of your presence, so that we can walk
and step with you. God, let us not forget that
we are simply dust. We're dust, created by dust. We're
all created by dust, but we're loved by you. We're small, God,
but we're seen by you, Empty yet filled God
