Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Mackey, and it's time for us to
go to God in prayer, and as always I ask
that you join along with me in prayer. And today
I just think about the importance of family and the
family being rooted in love and in grace, and the
importance of forgiveness and families because none of us are perfect,
(00:22):
none of us, and so it's important that we handle
one anohing with love and with grace. Heavenly Father, in
the name of Jesus, we thank you today for the
sacred gift of family and all its shapes and all
its seasons. God, we see a reflection of your heart,
a place where love begins, where grace is learned, where
(00:46):
we are shaped into who you've called us to be. Lord.
We know that families are not made of perfect people,
because we aren't. We're made up of people learning to love,
learning to forgive, and to show up for one another
day after day. So God, we ask you, now, with
humble hearts, to help us build our homes on your
truth and your grace. Where there's division, God brings unity
(01:08):
where there's silence, Bring healing words where there's distance, Help
us close the gaps with compassion where there are wounds,
Pour out the oil of your mercy. Teach us Lord
to forgive quickly and to love deeply, not because it's
always easy, but because you've forgiven and you loved us first.
(01:29):
Let our pride give way to humility, and our stubbornness
melt into surrender. Help us God to speak kindly even
when emotions run high. Let our words carry the weight
of kindness, and our silence be filled with patience and
with prayer. Lord, Please bless parents who carry silent burdens,
(01:50):
who who pray, who sacrifice to create a safe space
for their children. God strengthen them where they feel unseen,
and when they feel overwhelmed, God, God, remind them that
their labor of love is not in vain. God, bless
the children and the youth. Fill their hearts with respect
and curiosity and honor for their families. Help them to
(02:12):
see beyond rules and correction and into the deep love
and care behind every not every boundary, every prayer whispered
over them that they don't even realize and see God.
And for those who feel the ache of broken family ties, God,
those that are griefing, those that are strange from their family,
or walking through seasons of separation. God, I ask right now,
(02:35):
in the name of Jesus, be their comforter. Restore what
seems lost, Redeem what seems too far gone. You are
the God who brings prodigal sons and daughters home. You
knit hearts back together. God, Let our homes be places
of laughter and learning, and love and light. Not perfect, God,
(02:56):
but full of grace, Not without struggle, but rich in
your process. Let our tables be places of welcome, Our
words be seasoned with love. In our lives be testimonies
of your faithfulness. Finally, Lord, let every family reflect the
love of Christ, selfless, sacrificial. Instead fans, let the world
(03:16):
see you and how we love each other. God, we
surrender our families to you right now in the name
of Jesus. God, we know and we trusted. Your hands
are gentler, wiser, and more powerful than ours. In Jesus' name,
