Today's Word 04-18-25: Accept the Gift

Sherry Mackie in his time, right now for today's word,
Accept the gift. Accept the gift. Loop twenty three forty
two through forty three says, then he said, Jesus, remember
me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus answered him, truly,

I tell you today, you'll be with me in paradise.
You know, when Jesus was dying on the cross, there
were two thieves crucified on each side of him. One
mocked him and said, you can't even save yourself. The
other thief said, Jesus, when you come into your kingdom,

please remember me. See that second thief believe that Jesus
was the Messiah and that he was the king of
God's kingdom. Now think about this thing. Jesus, even while
being crucified, after being brutally beaten, abused, mocked, and treated inhumanely,

showed his amazing love and compassion. He took the time
to give that thief a gift. See, he didn't respond
to that man who deserved the punishment that he was
receiving with criticism and harsh word. He didn't say I
don't know you. He didn't say you didn't follow me
or my teachings. He didn't remind him of what his

(01:36):
failures were by saying you're just a thief. No, Jesus
took the time to give that man a gift. He
took the time to give him salvation, to give him love,
to give him compassion. Jesus said, this day.

You'll be with me in Paradise.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Think about how powerful that is. Down to his last
breath on this earth, Jesus was showing us that he
chooses strangers. He's showing us that our past doesn't determine
our future. He's showing us that when we're at our worst,
God is still at his best. Ah, that's when his

mercy just shows out. Jesus was saying, by grace, you're
saved through faith.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
It is a gift from God. What a tragedy, What
a tragedy to go through life being chosen by God,
but you never recognize it. You have to accept that
God has a calling on your life. He's put seeds
of greatness on the inside of you. He's given you

(02:45):
a purpose, He's given you a divine assignment. You have
to accept this free gift of salvation. He's already died
to give it to you.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
For just like with any gift, when someone presents it,
you have to accept it and it's all by his grace. Father,
Thank you that there is nothing, nothing we have to
do to earn your love and approval because of the
grace and the gift that you brought us in Jesus Christ.

Thank you that we can rest and who you made
us and feel good about who we are. God. We
believe that your calling is upon us in Jesus' name.
