Speaker 1 (00:00):
Plenty of interviews, plenty of fun here at LOWERD in Life.
I don't know what day it is. It might be
day two to some people, day three to some people.
But we're back here at LOWERD in Life and I
have Scott from lok Wage. How are we doing today?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Good? How are you good?

Speaker 1 (00:12):
What have you guys played earlier today? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
We went.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Did you guys play earlier today?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
We did?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
How was that?

Speaker 3 (00:17):
So?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
I think you were kind of first first, so first
for coming back from this storm that shut yesterday down.
You walked out on stage. What happened?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Well, we didn't even really think today was going to happen. Yeah,
so we were like, oh, let's just go, let's go
see what happens. And they were like, yeah, it's happening.
So I was like, oh shit, okay, so we gotta play.
And I honestly I thought maybe one person who would
be out there, you know, And then people started running
towards the stage and I was like, oh, this is great.

(00:46):
And then we started playing and it was fun. You know,
you could you could see people were glad that somebody,
anybody was playing, yeah, and we were happy to be
at somebody anybody.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I could only imagine how long people waited outside the
gates trying to get in because they were trying to
get it open on time. We got push back a
little bit. So yeah, you would probably see people running
in like Okay, we're here, let's go, let's go, let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, they're running. It was cute.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
It was like Christmas. It was nice. So what does
it mean for local age to play something as big
as Louder than Life?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
That's We're not really a festival, man, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
We're like more of a small club, hump our own
gear type of thing.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
So this is fun for us. You know, we see
some friends of ours that.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
We haven't seen in a while, and everybody wants to
help us, you know. But it's fun. You know that
we're not used to playing this early in the morning
because that's in the morning, right, But yeah, we'll hang around.
We'll go see Massdon and you know, and go see
the Armed and.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
What if a masks on the arm? What friend bands
are here for?

Speaker 3 (01:47):
You? Guys Disturbed you're from Chicago. Ye, we know the
guys in Filter. I think they're on right now.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Oh yeah, Filter just got done with the rob Zombie tour.
Unless that's still going on and they're just here on
a one stall.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Thing's never ending.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yeah, right, so loc wh I think you guys what
just put out some new music? Is that?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Whatever?

Speaker 3 (02:05):
What we did is we put out a twentieth anniversary
reissue of a record.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Well, whatever happened to PJ PJ Souls?

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Whatever happened to PJ Sols? Take two?

Speaker 1 (02:16):
What was the I guess did you guys like go
into remaster? Did you do anything special with this? We
did a.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Remaster, put it out on vinyl. Yeah, this is one
of those records that that sort.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Of had to find its groove and find its people,
and so it's nice to do a record like this,
and we put a lot of care into the remaster
and people dig it and I love it, you know.
I think it's a great record, and it's my favorite
record that we've ever done.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
So it's cool to be at with that.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
I'm guessing a lot of those songs from that record
made it into your set or well.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Yes, So we're in Louisville, and so there's a song
on there called Buffalo Trace, which is about the the
Whiskey Trail. So we started today's set with that and
it's a ten minute song. We had thirty minute set,
so okay, but we had to do it.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
We're in Louisville.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Probably Buffalo Tase Okay, yeah, it's long. I like long songs. Okay,
I'm a Pink Floyd guy, you know.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
I like Pink Floyd Tool Metallica.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yes, I like Master Puppets, you know, so I like
the long song.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
So how it like? Have you seen the trend now
where bands are pushing out songs are a minute man
and a half long and just kind of hoping for
the best. You're not that kind of guy.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
You don't know what that means.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
So what's going on like that?

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Credits?

Speaker 1 (03:31):
No, no, no, just the trend now is the full song
minute man and a half and that's it.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Well, here's what I like. I like songs that are
that short, or like songs that are over ten minutes. Okay,
Like the rest is kind of like nonsense to.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Three minute default is yeah, so.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I dig a minute and a half song and we
have minute and a half song, you know, so I yeah,
I would like to live in a world with those
two extremes.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Okay, ten minute song followed by a minute song followed
by our ten minute song.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Wouldn't that be a great world to live it?

Speaker 1 (04:00):
No one knows what's coming next, yes, So speaking of
what's coming next, what is coming next for Local Wage.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Well, we got a couple more weeks of this tour
and then we're heading back to Chicago for the premiere
of the Local ch movie.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
It's called Lifers.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Local Wage Movie. Tell me about that.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Uh, it's not really a documentary. It's kind of a
concert film, but not really. It's sort of like a
cross between the song remains the same the Led Zeppelin
movie and have you ever seen a movie Slacker?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Richard Link later.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Heard of it but never saw it.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Yeah, so it's like a cross between those.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
If we shot it in real time and it's not
all in one shot, but it.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Sort of feels like that. And so like say, if.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
A character goes outside to smoke a cigarette, yeah, you
can hear the song in the background, but you're missing
the song.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
We'll see I guess plot behind this.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
The plot is we're playing at a club in Chicago
and there's a lot of people in the audience. Okay,
so it features a camera that sort of gets bored
very easily. It's like, oh, let me follow that guy,
or hey, let me follow the guy who's gonna sell
T shirts. Okay, so so you hear it, it's almost
like a video game. You know.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
As someone that graduated with a broadcasting degree, I like
this unique aspect behind things. Yeah, you could do a
live movie, sure, but now now it's a little bit different.
All right, So you pique my interest for sure, right.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
I mean, it's still rocks, and it's still it's still
an experience, but I wanted it to be different. And
I also, it's not gonna be on streaming. It's not
You're not gonna be able to watch it on your phone.
If you want to see it, you have to come
to a movie theater. And and that's what I'm we're
gonna do. We're gonna take it on tour all across
the country and we'll show it at your local.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Indie movie theater.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
And I don't want to throw it up on Amazon
or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Really unique, really special to you guys. How hands on
were you with maybe the directing or production.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Of Roads directed and edited?

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Wow? It's yeah, man, in many talents here. Okay, favorite
port from this movie that you can share the favorite
part of the movie. My favorite part of the movie
was a part we had to cut out. We we
did that a little bit of it. Today we have
the song called high five Motherfucker in the middle. We
had been going into a helter skelter right the Beatles,
and you know, I was like, how much is it

(06:17):
going to cost to have this part of the Beatles.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
In the movie, And somebody goes, I'm not even gonna
tell you, just cut it out. So we had to
cut out my favorite minute and a half of them.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Man, well, you probably have it safe so you can
always watch it whenever.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
The director's cut.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah, okay, awesome. How about new music other than the
twentieth anniversary re release anything?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Well, I've been I've had my head up this movies,
but for you know, three years pretty much yet, and
so I haven't really been thinking about it anything. But
now that it's over, I'm starting to get some ideas.
Maybe we'll record something in the winter.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Hopefully I have some out next year.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
We'll see wonderful. I ask every band this, whether or
not they're just starting out, they've been around a while,
rock metal anything, What kind of advice would you give
to bands just starting out.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Don't listen to people's advice, you know, like seriously, you know,
if everyone's going to tell you what's up. But there's
no there's no playbook, you know. I mean, if you
want to do it, do it right.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Me and my my camera got here. The rule the phrases,
there's no rules.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
There are no rules, and stick stick to it.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Stick to your guns, because even if it seems like
something's not going to work out for you, years later,
you could be headlining one of these festivals.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Absolutely, we're not, but you could, right Yeah, Okay, any
final things you got you want to say to fans?
Thank you short and sweet? Okay, yeah, that kid's God.
I appreciate a little bit of the time. Thank you, Yes, sir.
