Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey guys, it's Bethany from the Michael J Morning Show.
You're listening to Michael J and Bethany after Hours ground going.
I can hear you my head.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I'm dreaming You'll.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Skin you.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
You can go ninety three point one w p O. C.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Nor Well. Thanks for all the text.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
We heard from a lot of people who have been
called ugly kids. Apparently one of the things trending is
that there are a lot of people who have gone
through the same thing as the rest of us.

Speaker 6 (00:45):
Yeah, we have some a lot of recovering ugly children
listening right now.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
All right, We're thinking of you today around Baltimore.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
I'm thinking about people in fed Hill if you got
your car broken into, like thirty five reports of property windows,
A couple of restaurants got broken into. The police are
looking into it and I don't know, hopefully they can
figure out narrow down who did that. But following statement

(01:14):
came out. Although violent crime and property crime have decreased
over the last two years, both in the neighborhood and citywide,
there are still very real challenges for Federal Hill, as
illustrated by the vandalism Saturday night. This According to the
councilmen from District eleven, and they're looking into a partner

(01:35):
with Baltimore Police Department on its implementation of a strategy
coming very soon. They need to have police officers walking
the beat, which they used to back in the day.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
You know, everybody's so in their car. I mean I
remember not that.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
Many years ago, there were a lot of police just
on the roads outrunning tickets. Now that we only have cameras, yeah,
I don't see as many police officers even in their
cars anymore. But you know, back in the day, you'd
have a team, a couple of officers just watching what's
going on, and you know, just that little bit of
authority like letting people know, hey, no messing around. You

(02:13):
don't go bustling out car windows, right, you know what,
Maybe that's what fed Hill needs.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Maybe, I sure hope.

Speaker 7 (02:18):
So.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
But ninety three point one WPOC traffic.

Speaker 6 (02:23):
All right, So we're stopping go on ninety five southbound
between Eastern Avenue and the Harp Tunnel use sitting there
for about three four minutes. There's an extent an eight
and ninety five southbound at Maryland Route two. Things are
stopping to go from the Steel Bridge on the outer
Loop between seven ninety five and Liberty Road. We're slow
right now, and then we've got a fallen tree on
Scott's Level Road at Old Court Road.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
This report is sponsored by Trust. When you work with
someone who knows a lot and cares even more, you
are unstoppable. So start feeling like it today.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
Well, if you've been saving it for a rainy day,
you might be able to use is it today because
we're going to get some thunderstorms this afternoon could be
heavy at times, with you know, downpours, possibly flooding, possibly,
who knows. Just be on the lookout for one of
those heavy duty summer thunderstorms. Here at ninety three point
one WPOC.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
To keep up in the loop of entertainment and pop
culture and the things we shouldn't care about but somehow
we really do. It's free on ninety.

Speaker 6 (03:28):
So if you've seen a social media post this is
that Ozzy Osbourne is dying, his daughter Kelly wants you
to know it's not true.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
It's an AI clip.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
Apparently they're saying he's dying and that he and Sharon
have a suicide pack.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Oh my god, yeah, and k it's not true, but
I mean He's been around this his whole life, remember
you like bit of Bat's Head, and he's always done
some weird stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
He just retired. I guess they did that big show
not too long right, right?

Speaker 6 (03:55):
So uh, okay, So I'm following the feud of Donald
Trump v Rosie o'donald carefully.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
This is not looking cute. Is Elon Musk involved in this?

Speaker 8 (04:07):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I'm sure so, I'm sure he's in there somehow.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
But speaking of feuds, Jelly Roll is competing at WWE's
Summer Slam in a couple of weeks. He's going to
tag team partner with Randy Orton and they're doing the
match against Drew McIntire and Logan Paul.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
I hope he gets up on top of the buckles,
you know, and does like one of those flying you know,
slamming you in the into the Matt moves.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
I feel like that.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
I don't know if this has been a dream of
Jelly rules forever, but it seems like it. It feels
like it would be.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Okay. So, Richard Dreyfus is very sick. He had to
cancel his Shark.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Cohn appearance last week because he has viral bronch Heidis
Hayley Bieber and Justin Bieber. They're married and they each
have an executive assistant.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Of course. Well the fun news is their executive assistants
just got married.

Speaker 6 (04:57):
I know. I'm like, this is cute. That's like a
a love story that I can get behind, all right.
And then lastly, Prince Harry and King Charles. You know
they haven't been talking for a long time. Well, aids
of both of them have met. In what summer are
they're getting married to? I would love that Some are
calling it a secret peace summit, so that Harry can

(05:20):
you know, at least have channels back to the royal family.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
And I hear he's doing this without Megan Markle Well,
in other words, he's she's not involved any conversation.

Speaker 9 (05:30):
Any of this.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
Yeah, but I from what I understand, they don't have
enough money. I think that's interesting. Harry and Meghan are
like kind of crying poverty a little bit.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Yeah, because we heard their mortgage payment over the course
of years like nine million dollars. They have to pay
for security, they have this, that and the next, and
so maybe they're running a little low.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
They often left the royal family and then they're like
we wait a minute, Well.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Because the Netflix deal ran out, so it's not the
call for home phone DA.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Ninety three point one w POC traffic.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
All right, we're stopping go on eight any five southbound
between Hullibird and the Harbor Tunnel US but not too bad.
And there's an accident on eating eighty five southbound at
Maryland Route two.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Oh yeah, summer is pill.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
And so is thirteen cases to win.

Speaker 10 (06:24):
Pop is a little good news, isn't it? Something made
Tim and middle ning.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Is little ninety three point one WPOC look good news.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
Well the plenty of that forty five days according to
Bethany's calculations.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Right, we don't count today and we don't count the
day of so we are Look, we're just a little
a little under seven weeks. I guess until Shaboozi and
Kane Brown. Everybody at wpoc's Saturday in the country. You
better get your tickets. All right, now, let's go to
the hot seat. We got to find out. Have you
won anything from us in the last thirty days, Miss Emily.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Brown, I have not. I haven't won anything in the
last thirty days.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
I want you to remember this, Bethany. Okay, Emily was
the very first winner on the Michael J and Bethany Morning.
We didn't even have a name back then.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
I don't think. I don't think we were with the
Michael J. Morning Show. Yet you were like the very
first person. Do you remember that?

Speaker 5 (07:33):
Yes, I remember the very Emily gets very excited. Here's
what we know about you, Emily. You're a school teacher, right, yes?
And are you on summer break or what is going
on with you?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (07:49):
I am on summer break. I just got back from Norway.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
I visited a friend of mine there.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
I've been going to the beach with my Boyfriend's been fabulous.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Oh wow, don't you think that she'd be a really
one teacher to have. I never had cool teachers like
Emily Brown when I was in school.

Speaker 11 (08:05):
Oh, thank you.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Ely in the kindergarten teacher.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
It's so fun.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Kindergarten.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
I love kindergarten.

Speaker 12 (08:12):
It is my favorite.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
And what was the best thing about Norway?

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Oh, it was so super fun. We went and saw
this waterfall. But the coolest thing that I thought was
super amazing was that we went hiking in this park
and there were all of these World War two bunkers
still in the park from nineteen forty to nineteen forty five.
The Germans put him there to guard their artillery and everything.

(08:39):
They're still there. I just couldn't believe it.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
There's these massive.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Structures, so there could be like unexploded ordnance that could
blow up.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
You don't know what you're doing, right.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
We're looking for like maybe there were some points or
something they left, but we couldn't find anything. I couldn't believe.
It's still like in the woods out there. Anybody to go.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
It's fascinating.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
All right, Well, let's get busy with the hot seat.
You have three questions three seconds, Emily Brown, or we
will buzz you and hang.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Up on you and you won't be our next winter.
So let's go alrighty, all right?

Speaker 6 (09:14):
Question number one, what is the most annoying musical instrument?

Speaker 3 (09:22):
The most annoying musical instrument, I would say is the recorder,
because there's a lot of my students that I've had
that pump back to see me in kindergarten and they
bring the recorders and they try to play.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Mary had a Little lamb. These are the worst.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Question number two, we're fun to practice on.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
I guess when you're little but so kind of annoying keeper.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (09:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Question number two, what would your last meal be?

Speaker 3 (09:54):
M Oh, if I could have one last meal and
that was yep, that would be crabs and beer and
born on the Tom.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
I'm so in love with Emily Brown. She's you and
I are. We're on the same page.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Well, let's see based on that answer, how you answer
number three? Fifty six percent of people say they eat
macaroni and cheese every day. Uh, that's more than half
the people. Oh my gosh, when was the last time
you had macaroni and cheese? I?

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Cheese? Probably back in January. I'm not a big fan
of macaroni and cheese. I don't mind it.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
I just don't really like fixting it that much.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I mean it's not hard, but I just don't care
for it that much. Okay, I'd say it was back
in January.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Can you believe more than half of people said they
eat it every day? Well?

Speaker 5 (10:51):
It's popular, right, really? And peanut butter and jelly sandwiches too, probably,
I have no idea. Anyway, Hey, Emily Brown, you get
two tickets for Ty Myers at the Anthem on November first,
So you are our newest winner.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Congratulations, amazing.

Speaker 11 (11:11):
I love you, Michael Dan Bethany.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
There.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Let me know when this recorder gets annoying.

Speaker 5 (11:20):
Do you remember like your kids would come home and go, Mom,
I'm practicing, and you'd.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Hear this for hours.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
It'd be like, oh my god, can't they teach the
kids something else to play besides that stupid annoying flute?

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Ninety three point one w POC traffic.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
It's a pretty slow day out there on the roads
right now.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
The outer loop between seven ninety five and seventy is
the slowest part out there, and then we're a little
bit backed up still before the Harbor Tunnel on eight
ninety five southbounds under hour.

Speaker 9 (11:50):
iHeart Radio Music Festival presented by Capitol One is coming
back to Las vegaest see Maula Arena September nineteenth and
twentieth streaming lifel and you can be there for a
weekend full of superstar performances featuring Tim McGraw.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Ninety three point one.

Speaker 6 (12:39):
W p o C.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Now, all right, so what is going on this morning?

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Quite a bit h The police are investigating, Uh, just
a rash of all kinds of craziness, destruction of property
in South Baltimore all over fed Hill. Baltimore police are
investigating property damage reports of break ins in several vehicles
and businesses. On Sunday, thirty five reports of destruction of

(13:07):
property in and around fed Hill, thirteen reports of vehicle
break ins on East Montgomery. One person said, our car,
the front passenger window was completely shattered. Then the other
car they attempted to shatter the front driver's side window.
Amy Klein said, you know, this is just ignorant. It's

(13:28):
just it's there's nothing more frustrating when you go out
to get in your car and go to work or
whatever you got going on, and some Yahoo's been messing
around with it.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Yeah, I hate that.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
So I'm hoping the police can can figure out what
is going on. Maybe there's some cameras, maybe somebody knows violated. Yeah,
so that's the news in fed Hill. Orioles drafted Ike Irish. Yeah,
he's a big guy.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Well, I guess it's a good deal, right.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
The pick is in nineteenth pick Ike Irish from Auburn
University and outfield and a catcher. Well, lord knows we
can use another catcher. We're like into our sixth or
seventh catcher this year. Why with so many injuries. Well,
Adley got hurt. He's got some sort of muscle problem
with his ribcage. And then just one guy up to

(14:14):
the next he had a guy with a messed up leg.
It just it's crazy. So they're on there, like sixth
we drafted a guy from the Yankees because we needed
a catcher right away.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
So Oriole's going through a lot of catchers. Yikes. Anything
else we should mention during trending right now?

Speaker 4 (14:29):
No, I think that'll cover all right, ninety three point
one WPOC traffic.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
All right, there's a fallen tree on Scott's Level Road
at Old Court Road. To follow police instructions. There, an
accident on Pulaski Highway before Armisteed Way. We are slow
right now before Booth Tunnels, but just just two or
three minutes backed up there. And then an accident at BW.
Parkway southbound at Annapolis Road. All right, I'm gonna find out.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
What what are we gonna do? Stand back? All right?
Look out, look out.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
No, I am not related to anybody that's been running
around on the streets in South Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Are you know in the damage?

Speaker 6 (15:08):
No? But I feel bad did I inspire somehow? I
don't think so, Please tell me we didn't. I don't
think they're big listeners of the program.

day on the road, guy, So enjoy that. While it
lasts a couple incidents to report, there's an accident in
b Tow B Parkway southbound right between Annapolis Road and
six ninety five.

eight ninety five southbound is the slower of the two.

That song will be around a hunt of de years
from now, We'll still be saying it. You're on a
ninety three point one WPOC Michael j Morning Show. Bethany,
when you were a little kid, did your mom ever
say to you that you were an ugly child when
you were born?

Speaker 1 (22:02):
No, well that's good. Maybe she should have though. No, No,
I don't know if I was that cute. Honestly, no,
I was. My mom told me I was an ugly kid. Really, yeah,
she told you then, or she told like no, it's
just been like.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
She's like, oh, you were an ugly kid. Oh God,
I came out with all kinds. I mean, I think
it was covered with hair, like all over my ears.
I look like a little you know something. I don't
know anyway, So my question is is it wrong to
tell your kid that they.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Were an ugly child?

Speaker 15 (22:38):
You know?

Speaker 1 (22:38):
Sometimes I tell Madeline that when she came out, she
looked like an alien. See, so you've done it well,
you know why because you're squished out? Yeah, you know
what I mean. I think the mom's like, all right,
for nine months, I'm squish you.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Yeah, and a lot of us have kind of misshapen heads.
Things pop back after while. You know, maybe your nose
is out of joint.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
Yeah, but I just wonder how many people have told
their child that you were an ugly child? An ugly baby?

Speaker 1 (23:14):
I don't I don't know. If I no, I bet
you it's more I'm willing to bet it's more common.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
I mean, honestly, like, I like you, like I said,
I said mail in a locally an ilion. I see,
because every kid has an awkward phase, right, there's like,
oh yeah, there's always like an awkward phase.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Usually it's like fourth and fifth grade.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
Who is the best looking guy? Like boom, when I
say good looking guy? Name the top couple of beautiful
men in your opinion.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Okay, oh like the Hemsworth Yeah, okay, like yeah, so
like what's Chris Hemsworth?

Speaker 7 (23:47):
Right?

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Do you think he was an ugly baby?

Speaker 6 (23:50):
He probably yeah, probably really or but or at some
point there was an ugly phase, like like think back
of your school.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
Pictures, like, oh my gosh, there was an ugly thing back.
I'm I can look at pictures now, I mean pictures,
and I don't I hate that.

Speaker 6 (24:06):
I know there was a time when I, I don't know,
decided I needed short hair, had a perm.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Oh my gosh, it was bad. I had big old
glasses school pictures. Oh, like there was a time when
I was an ugly kid, you know.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
Right.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
So the question again is either were you told you
were an ugly child or as a mom, did you
tell your kids that you got ugly babies when they
were born? If we want to hear about it seven
seven six two or come on eight hundred and three
two one thirty six ninety three to.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Go see out have changed?

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Just to go around town with some gasoline, just trying
to bomb Flang, going to Barron.

Speaker 4 (24:49):
A whole place down.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
How do you explain they.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
Have a filling in a little a guy like me
in the first place.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
I'm trying to around stated that on the worst thing.
I guess sound probably.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Wrong If.

Speaker 12 (25:08):
You stick.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
You're on ninety three point one WPOCA. Good morning, Michael,
Jay and Bethany. Now is it right or is it wrong?

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Or does it really not matter if you call your
kid an ugly child?

Speaker 6 (25:26):
Well, let's see, because we have a lot of listeners
who texted in to say that their parents or aunts
or uncles or whatever told them that they were not attracted.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
It's on QRA and it's on Reddit that no decent
mom would tell a child they were ugly. So I
guess I have to talk to my mom about this.
Oh Mama, Apparently it's abusive and terrible, is it? I
think my mom she means it in love. She's like,

(25:55):
you were an ugly child.

Speaker 6 (25:56):
That sounds a little That sounds a little sketchy. Someone said,
when we called our firstborn our firstborn, party had head
because when he was born, he came out with head pointed.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
It did eventually round out.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
Well. Someone said, my husband threw me a surprise fortieth
birthday party and put my baby picture on the cake.
So my mom thought it was a good moment to
remind me that I look like a monkey with just
all arms and legs.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
My mom's not the only one that said I was.
She never said it look like a monkey. She said
a monster. She said I had really hairy ears. I'm
up it.

Speaker 6 (26:33):
When I was little, I asked my mom if I
was beautiful. Her response was, children aren't beautiful.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
You're cute.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
At that point, I took it meant to me and
I was not attractive, right, Kelly says. My family says
the opposite. They say, you're really cute as a baby
and a kid. What happened, oh, Kelly, Oh see, I
don't know. I have to ask Madeline.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
She's not up yet.

Speaker 6 (26:56):
But like I said, when she came out, she was
like an alien because they held her up and she
was so skinny, and her fingers and toes were so long,
and I was like, what's going on here?

Speaker 7 (27:07):
Right?

Speaker 1 (27:07):
I was like, that's mine, like e Phone. I wonder
if that hurt her feelings. I feel like I'm a
pretty decent mom. So I don't know.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
Yeah, So I really I don't think that it's as
dramatic as people are making it seem. On these these
socials saying that no decent mom would tell her child
they were ugly.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
I mean, I don't I don't think that. I don't know.
I'll talk to my therapist. If your parents told you
you were ugly when you were little, how are you
doing now? Yeah, let us know. I think I think
we've all survived.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Ninety three point one w POC traffic because I think
my mom.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
Told me I was beautiful all the time when I
was little, and I still have terrible self esteem. So
I don't know, you know, one way or the other, right,
I have no self esteem? Maybe it started then, all right?

you're an ugly kid or you were an ugly baby
when you were born, because personally, I think newborn babies
have a face and a mother can only that A
mother can we love. I don't really think most babies
are all that cute when they're born.
