Speaker 2 (00:16):
Ninety three point one w C. Now we're going to
zoom in on lightning for this trending report. A couple
of reasons. Yesterday at your house, Bethany, Yeah, lightning struck
in your yard. My yard.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
It's a big lightning bullet came down in my backyard
and hit. And I don't know if it hit the
ground or a planter or whatever because it was dark
already and I left when it was dark this morning,
so I don't know. But anyway, so it hit, and
then there were a whole bunch of sparks, like wow.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
And you witnessed all this and you were just a
couple of feet away, oh maybe fifteen feet. Did you
feel like you were trying to someone was trying to
send a message? Did perhaps you know what I mean?
Perhaps I did? Did?
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Like the hair on your body stand on Edgcardly. I
also saw a cardinal yesterday too.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Well what's that got to do with it? A cardinal
and lightning? Yeah, I feel like those are both signs. Well,
listen to this. I don't know. But there was this
poor guy, twenty eight years old, graduate of Notre Dame
or Notre Dame, I should say, because Notre Dame is
here Baltimore. Notre Dame is the university. He was struck
by lightning playing golf in a tournament in New Jersey
and was killed on the fifteenth hole. This big storm
(01:28):
came up. I mean it happens to golfers, right, like, well,
you're holding a metal club, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
And you're just out in the middle of like your thing, right,
and that's like a lightning rod. Oh God, So we've
got storms coming, you know. I guess we've got to
pay attention to the chance of lightning. I wonder if
there's anybody listening who's been struck by lightning, because you
don't always die.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Well they they say being struck by lightning is more
rare than winning a lottery, right? Or is it the
other way around? The other way?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Seven seven nine sixty begin your mind is with higher Hey,
have you ever been struck by lightning?
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah? I'm just saying you should probably buy some lottery
tickets today.
Speaker 4 (02:05):

your backyard.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
All right, there's a transformer fire on Pulaski Highway in
Ohio Street.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
I wonder if that has anything to do with lightning.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Slow traffic on b Tow Parkway southbound between around the
Mills Boulevard and NSA. A disabled vehicle cleared on eight

Speaker 3 (05:35):
When I was twelve, I was struck by lightning.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Oh my god, I'm fifty six now.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
I was at my grandparents apartment in Owings Mills for
a birthday celebration. My younger sister and I were sent
outside to play at the playground. About ten minutes into playing,
I was struck by lightning. I don't remember much, but
I do remember playing on a swing and then waking.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Up at the hospital. Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
To this day, I have a scar on my arm.
I was told that the storm was six miles away
from where my sister and I were playing, So.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
You really never know. I mean it could be even
before the storm hits and lightning just comes out of
clear blue sky.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
I mean they do their best to say, like the
storms within X amount of right, and the pool is
even more dangerous right in the pool.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah. Well, I was kind of like going, this is
ridiculous when they kick us off the beach in Ocean
City but no, no lightning. Yeah, who is this? Wait
a minute, Melissa, Hey, Melissa, have you ever been struck
by lightning?
Speaker 10 (06:25):
I have that.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Well, that's good, that's a good thing. I guess that's
for the best. Bethanie almost was yesterday. Yeah, can you
imagine that? Yeah? Crazy? Well, listen, you might not have
gotten struck by lightning, but you are caller number nine
and you're going to see Parmalle at a WPOC Hot
Country Nights. So congratulations, Wow, thank you.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Michael Jay's Music City Minute in sixty seconds.
Speaker 9 (06:50):
You don't know, like you own music road.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Well, the big news in country music is that Miss
Tricia or, as Garth Brooks, her husband calls her, the
great is dropping a new album tomorrow. It's called The Mirror,
and if you're ready, I'm ready. I can give you
a little taste of it. I'm interested, and we're gonna
find out what Tricia has been up to. She's very
(07:14):
proud to say that she's written all the songs on
the album. Okay, so that's a first for her. And
here is the first song they're releasing. It's a little snippet.
We'll give you a little bit of Bringing the Angels
Tricia Yearwood. Somebody ought to get hell on the lines, hell.
Speaker 9 (07:31):
Of myny to work. They've been throwing.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Stones with me and some of y'all might to her,

Speaker 11 (07:39):
Me down all over the town and dragging my name
through the dirt.
Speaker 9 (07:43):
I didn't start this thing.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Start on ring and tell them but what it's worth.
I'm about say, Rob, I don't know this, Shaggy.
Speaker 9 (07:52):

Speaker 10 (07:56):
No fo, I'm gonna burn me down.
Speaker 9 (07:58):
You better tell the Tallacon games.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
All right, Thearry? What do you think Bringing the Angels?
First song on the nutrita ear? What album? You know exactly?
You know what? I'll just say this so far, she's
had let me see Oh no, Okay, two hundred thousand
UH subscribers, twenty thousand views of that song? Okay, all right,
(08:31):
Laney Gardner, who is a just a phenom from TikTok,
who I think is going to be the next big thing.
Lanney Gardner, look her up, she has two hundred and
fifty thousand. Okay, So I don't know, you know, you
reach a point where are you still the buzz? Do
we still love Trisha?
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Here? What?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I love her? She's a sweet lady. But what do
you think of the song? We would love to know?
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
All right, there's an accident with the right deceleration lane
blocked on fifteen southbound at East Main Street and exit
with the right lade blocked on ninety five southbound at
eighty nine, and things are stopping. Go before the Harbor
tunnel in the Fort McKenny Tunnel about ten minutes.
Speaker 12 (09:14):
Yea summer it is, and so is thirteen Chances to
win piles of cash on ninety three point one.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Naty three point one w POSC. Good morning, how are
you doing? Throw back Thursday? We got a bunch of
those Michael J and Bethany and apparently AI is in
the conversation.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
I was talking to one of my old radio bosses
the other day and he works at a cluster.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Of radio stations. Okay, and they just recently.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Fired a lot of their voice people really and replace
them with AI.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Now, when you say voice people, so this means like
in between the two songs, you'll hear like you want
to do an example, Well, yeah, I mean you know
what I'm talking, so so like something like you mean
when the guy says.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Sport me tell your smart device to play ninety three
point one w POC on iHeartRadio.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
That guy So that guy is right now, a real guy, right,
even though.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Arguably a steak steak.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Yeah, So all of the deeks of this other company
have been fired, oh wow, and they're replacing them with AI.
And the boss at each radio station now has to
read into the microphone what they would like the voice
person to say, and then the voice person, like the
fake AI voice.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Person, will then make it sound like that. Wow. What
about if they had one that did you and me like,
uh hey, It's Michael J.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
And Bethany's seven thirty eight in Baltimore, sunny and humid,
with more storms possible later today.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
I'm your new DJ who needs a human when you
get me in my hard drive? Like that pause me
and my hard drive.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
So it made me think, right, what how do we
feel about this?
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah? AI is replacing a lot of jobs everywhere.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Yeah, oh of course, Like this is not right specific
to our industry. It's happening overwre is it coming into yours?
Is what we want to know?
Speaker 2 (11:41):
And like what do you think about it?
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Are there certain jobs where it's just unacceptable to like,
I don't know seven seven nine six two begin your
message with higher hay eight hundred three two thirty six
ninety three, or like what has AI already over overcome
at your job? Like a lot of people are using it,
like in a funny way, like you know, like oh
(12:03):
I asked chat GPT, like you know how to take
care of my plants better or whatever? Fine, but like
now it's taking over your job.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Here's the thing I wonder about. Kids can put together
a term paper or you know, how did it Professors
know if it was written by Hey, kids don't know
those words. They can make sentences.
Speaker 13 (12:20):
Right Michael J. And Bethany seven thirty eight in Baltimore, Sonny.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
We could have an English accent just like that. Hey,
it's Michael J.
Speaker 13 (12:28):
And Bethany seven thirty eight in Baltimore, Sonny and humored
with more storms possible later today. We got that on
your new DJ. Who needs a human when you get
me in mind? Would you would drive? It's got a part.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Would you listen to a radio station that had only
AI voices?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Does it matter to you? I just think this is fascinating. Yeah,
I don't know. I mean personally, I'm I mean, I'm
gonna be by. You got to pay your mortgage exactly.
You guys hate that as long as we're playing. He
ain't brown.
Speaker 11 (13:00):
Though it's sevento thirty in the morning, a Mickey Dee's
drives through two hing's, one coffee in a little Betty
orange shoe.
Speaker 9 (13:13):
I saw a man with a sign on the corner.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
I rowed my window down, hand it and a dollar.
Speaker 11 (13:19):
That's when I heard her ask hein't dann usday.
Speaker 9 (13:25):
Before I could answer back, she said, daddy up, there's
a plane in the sky or we there head? Did
you just see that dog run about?
Speaker 11 (13:41):
The squirrels have houses in the trees, wild got a butt,
stingers on honey bees.
Speaker 9 (13:47):
It's crazy I'm on the things she sees on the
side of the road and that wind into on the
side her. I wish I could be more like her.
Dang the feed pretty vain back see drummer.
Speaker 11 (14:09):
Later on that day, on a highway back home, a
Saunadi in a black mercedies.
Speaker 9 (14:18):
Yelling at her phone. She flew by me with her
finger in the air, and I had a hack like
I didn't care. And that's when I heard her ask
Daddy why I would see so mad. Before the ri
could answer.
Speaker 11 (14:35):
Back, she said that he can you please her hub
to me, what are you pushing.
Speaker 9 (14:45):
With your feet to make sul squirls? Have houses in
the tree?
Speaker 10 (14:52):
Mean on every guy if I hanger on.
Speaker 9 (14:55):
But I'm as good one as I ever want.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
We're all back Thursday. They're great. Toby Keith, who will ever,
will always and forever be missed. I'm telling you he
he will never be replaced. Doesn't matter if you got
your AI or not. And AI may try to replace
you and me though, Bethany.
Speaker 13 (15:23):
Yeah, And we don't eat food from the fridge down
the hole or steal your food, Bethany, remember that. Think
how much better we'll be when we don't show up tired, hungover,
or in a bad mood. Something to think about.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
It is something to think about.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
So there is Okay, So we're talking about if AI
can replace any job because like they keep saying.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Like we all better beat we're all in trouble. Right.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
Somebody said, we played a couple clips of if AI
was going to replace us.
Speaker 13 (15:54):
So we says nothing wrong with computer voices. We're cute, smart,
and we don't eat food from the fridge down the
hole or steal your food, Bethany.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, remember that someone said AI doesn't even say Baltimore.
Speaker 14 (16:06):
Right.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I won't listen if there's no live banter.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
Oh my god. I want real people, not some computer
talking to me. We all need connections. It's important to note.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
What about when you call someone these days, or you
use an ATM machine, or you go to the bank,
or you there's so many places where it's showing up. Yeah,
someone said I'm a hairstylist. AI will never replace me.
That is true.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
And somebody said I'm a nurse, and I could say
that AI could definitely not do my job, but maybe
some parts of it could be more helpful. We make
a lot of judgment calls based on patient information and data.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah, I can.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
I can understand how that how you could use it
as a tool to help. But I think that that
human connection is so important in so many I mean,
I feel like we're lacking it already, right.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
And what did you want to say, mister Ai? But
with some smart some smart? Oh you mean you're so smart?
Is that what you're we're trying to say, you're so smart?
I think is what you met smart? Right? I got it?
Those Ai? Thanks there. It's weird smart? Isn't it weird
that it's getting to that point though? Have you had
a conversation with chat GPT where you can actually it's
(17:17):
like you're reasoning with yeah, oh yeah, it's a little
bit scary.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic A ninety five southbound
between Pulaski Highway and the Harbor Tunnel North End backed
up about ten to fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Ninety five southbound before the Fort mckenry Tunnel, you're there
for about five to ten minutes. There's an excident on
fifteen southbound at Harney Road. The right disceleration lane is blocked,
and we have an accident on seventy eastbound at exit
thirty two.
Speaker 2 (17:45):

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Ninety three point one w c NOR. A lot of
people are fighting for money these days. Shout out to
teachers in Baltimore County. We've been following this story because
we love our teachers. We support our teachers as a
parent of you know, kids that have gone through the
public school system. You know, I see the struggles. They're real,
(19:13):
and teachers deal with so much, you know what I mean,
They have to deal with all kinds of issues in
addition to trying to educate, They're dealing with all kinds
of stuff. They signed a deal, They had a three
year contract that Baltimore County gave to the teachers union,
and the way it was set up was they were
going to get a one percent raise last year, a
(19:35):
five percent raise this year, and a five percent raise
next year for a total of eleven percent. How much
is cost of living going up over the course of
those three years, probably at least eleven pretty exactly. So
they got their one percent last year. But the teachers
are now fighting through a mediator with the school board
(19:55):
a school because they say they can't afford to give
them the five percent raise they already greed to me.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
I know that you signed paperwork saying that you're going
to get a five percent raise, but we don't have
enough money to do that.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Right, you're going to get one point five percent. So
what the teachers are saying is well, for the time being,
then we're going to do whatever we have to. In
the deal, we agreed to work X amount of hours.
That is what will work and nothing more. See I no,
I think they should strike. Uh oh uh oh, don't
get Bethany in there. Oh yeah, you want you want
me to come help, I'll come home. Oh my gosh,
(20:25):
let's get a picket line going. Oh my gosh, you
know how quickly they'll turn that around. You're stirring it up.
I mean it.
Speaker 11 (20:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
In Philadelphia, the sanitation workers were on strike in last
more than six days because the trash started piling up.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
When we don't have anywhere to put our kids all
day long, right, uh huh yep. And the other big
thing that's going on is the federal government's getting ready
to try to cut billions of dollars and they're talking
about taking the money from PBS and country legend Reba
isn't having that.
Speaker 14 (20:54):
In just a few short days, the Senate is going
to vote on a bill that would remove federal funding
from PBS.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
PBS has done so much for us.
Speaker 14 (21:04):
From children's education to teaching us about science, the Earth,
and the stars.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
There you go, so Rebus supporting PBS. She doesn't like
that they're talking about cutting money from them.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
If we don't have Sesame Street right or teachers, what
what are we going to learn?
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Exactly ninety three point one WPOC traffic and what happens
to the cookie monster? God, you can't have any cookies?
And count the count.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Fifteen southbound and Harney Road an accent there has the
deceleration lane blocked ninety five southbound before the Fort mckenry
Tunnel backed up about five or six minutes eight ninety
five southbound before the Harbor Tunnel backed up about ten
minutes ninety five northbound at Mountain Road Road construction there
has the right lane blocked, and then we have an
accident in seventy eastbound at exit thirty two.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Happy birthday to Luke Brian. Did you hear that? Yeah,
it's his birthday today. What is he's forty nine? Check
that out. Kind of thought he was older. We got
the birthday boy coming up. Nast report. He is sponsored
by BGE and Empower Maryland. There's no time like the
President to get your HVAC system looked at insure. The
(22:16):
teacher said they want to send that to the guys
that signed the contract said they'd get their five percent,
and now they're saying you're not getting it. Oh, you
are a liar. Jelly Roll ninety three point one WPOC
Michael J.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
And Bethany we were talking about how the teachers in
Baltimore County are not going to get their promised raise
and instead they're going to get one point five percent
and they're going to go down to like a limited
amount of hours. But I think they should strike completely.
And I said that if they strike and we don't
have anywhere to put our kids all day long, then
they're going to find the money. And someone said, hey, bethany,
(22:48):
school's not a place to put your kids all day
and if there's no money, there's no money. Okay, all right, counterpoint,
I understand that the main reason for school is not
to put your kids there all day. But every family
has two parents working right now, right, and there's nowhere
to put the kids.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
And it's not a matter about being put there to
be educated.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Yeah, but you if parents don't have anywhere to put
their kids, then they are going to start uprising and
being like, these teachers need to get paid. In addition,
there is money, they're just not finding it. They got
to come up with it, got to reallocate, like everybody's
doing it with their own personal budget.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Before wait a minute, let's ask a question. And this
is what I don't get. Don't they have to have
the money in order to sign the contract in the
first place, Like there's a budget for it, right? In
other words, there's got to be a line that says
this is for schools. I mean the proposed budget. Can't
you just put anything in there?
Speaker 4 (23:38):
I don't know the loop of entertainment and pop culture
and the things we shouldn't care about, but somehow we
really done.

Pete Davidson and his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt are expecting their
first baby together this winter. He and interviews has said
how excited he is to be a dad, and the
way that he talks about it is actually really sweet,
So I'm happy for them. Taylor Swift is helping out
her dad. He had just had quintuple quintuple bypass surgery.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Good news is there was no heart attack and he
just had blockages and they went in and they opened
them up.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
He had an unspecified cancer a couple of years ago.
He's seventy three. Her reps say he's doing well.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
