you gotta recap the tacks that we're coming in about
things that you see that you identify as, Oh they
have it going on.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yeah, everybody's always envious of the people in their lives
who are like, quote unquote rich. Someone said, Uh, it's Meghan.
The cell phone in the car was rich to me,
Like maybe when she was growing up if someone had like,
oh that was a big deal a car from Yeah man, Uh,
color TV in microwave.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Right, I said, air conditioning, But I remember color TV
being a big deal. Hey, we have brook for Mercy
High School in the studio today watching what's going on? Hey,
Brook grabbed that microphone. What is it that you identify
as all that family's got money?
Speaker 4 (01:29):
If you have a bathroom in your room, an honest kid?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Oh yeah, kid, Oh, if the kids have a bathroom
in the room, that's that's next level.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
And what did you say?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Pillars, columns, pillars like in your house or outside of it?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Yeah, if you've got those big columns, that's like the
White House.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
There isn't ninety three point one wpo C.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Now, so you've got a story going on about Red Lobster. Yes,
I've been following this story for I don't know a
little over a week. It's very interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I love of what people are saying.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Okay, so this Red Lobster saga, they introduced these seafood boils.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
New CEO at Red Lobster. He's trying to save the place,
right right.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Uh, He's going to keep the old Bay biscuits, the
cheddar old Bay biscuits, okay, because they're delicious and but
a lot of things he got rid of, and then
one of them he added was the seafood boil.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
And people went crazy, especially in Baltimore. They didn't like it.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
They were like, that's not Baltimore, no flavor. We need spice,
we need this, we need that he and it was
all in the comment section. So what I love about
it is how he responded. He came on the internet
and he was like, you know what, you're right like,
we're gonna fix it.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Here he is, Hello Lobster Nation, Demola.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Here we dropped our new seafood boils and you guys
really really really showed up.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, he says, really showed up. He didn't want to
get negative in the middle of his ad, but listen,
appreciate all the love and all the excitement. Also, we
heard you in the comments.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
You want even more heat, you want even more flavors.
Speaker 6 (02:56):
So we're turning it up with your choice of original,
spicy and extra Well look at that. I'm going with
the extra spice all right, and adding a new flavor
as well, old Bay and parmesan and ad sausage.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
We've got you. You can do it all now at
Red Lobster. Hey, can I make a tip to him?
X nay the old Bay and put in some jo
and you'll really have it going on.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
So what everybody is saying is how refreshing it is
to have a CEO who actually listens.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
How like we made comments and then immediately they made changes, right,
because that just doesn't happen Like it seems like we
don't matter. There's a tone deaf debt, you know, dead
ear to it, and he's like a CEO who's actually
so that's what the comment The comments are like.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
This makes me I don't care about red Lobster, but
I might go now he cares. What I like about
him is he gave a shout out to his employees
for turning it around so quick.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Because you know when they change, when they make a
menu change like that to a giant change.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yeah, it's not easy, no it is it.

Howard County. Yeah, she teaches in Howard County. She says
that she has.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Luke Brian.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
He just celebrated his birthday birthday, Yes, turned forty nine.
Is that old if you're in high school? Forty nine? Yeah,
that's pretty getting up there. How about Luke Combs? Do
you like him? You love Luke so well? There's a
big story about Luke today in the Music City Minute.
One week from today, we are going to be world

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Right?
Speaker 1 (07:30):
As soon as we get it, we're going to break
the rules and play us nipped. But we don't have
it yet. But next Friday, Remember to wake up with
ninety three point one Diwity Poc. Jelly Roll is in
the Music City minute. Yeah did you hear? He made
his his late night TV debut and uh did some
I did some jokes. He's a funny guy. Yeah, and
he's funny. He's got a good sense of humor. Yeah,
(07:50):
he was on. You might have if you stayed up late.
He was on with Jimmy Kimmel.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
So Jelly Roll he you know, Kimmel takes like a
hiatus every summer, so Jelly's filling in week.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Go Jelly, Let's cool.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Ninety three point one w POC traffic.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Ninety five northbound between six ninety five and White Marsh Boulevard.
The left shoulder is blocked. There are responders on the scene.
Fifty westbound at Business Parkway. Looks like that's in Stevensville.
The right deceleration lane is blocked. Sinkhole in bel Air
on Chesterfield Avenue. And then we've got some rope construction
at York Road at gorsic Hey. This is a good
(08:26):
day in the summer while you're enjoying summer. And by
the way, Brook doesn't summer vacation. Go by way too fast,
so fast, Oh my gush, can you believe it's we're
heading towards August.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
It's almost halfway.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Do I know?
Speaker 1 (08:36):
It's amazing? Listen to this at seven point thirty this morning,
we're gonna meet a guy who's a junior in high
school who has been elected to the school board in
an Arundel County.
Speaker 9 (08:50):
Summer is good, and so is thirteen Chances to win
piles of cash on three point one w POZ.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
And from the O's to all the country shows like
getting your tickets for Saturday of the Country hits, some
concerts that have a great time with My friend as
a kids would say, Rbeque.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Ninety three point one w POC Michael J Morning Show.
I think this is gonna be interesting. Bethany, we have
a local celebrity from n Arundel County and I want
to introduce you to Braden Morgan. Hey, Braiden. Is that
what your friends call you? Braiden or do you have
a nickname?
Speaker 10 (10:05):
It's just Braiden.
Speaker 11 (10:06):
Everyone calls me Braiden. Some friends say Bray, Bray or
Braiden is always.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
All right, So can we call you bray.
Speaker 11 (10:15):
Michae? Okay, yeah, I'll give you the look at that.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Look at that. I'm already on the bray level to
think about that. So listen to why we were so
impressed by this young man, Braiden Morgan, a rising senior.
And when do you go back to school? Do you
already have that on your calendar? I assume for glenn Burney? Yeah,
when you start back what in August or September? After
(10:39):
Labor Day or before?
Speaker 10 (10:41):
I let say we're after Labor Day.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yeah, so he's going to be a senior at glen
Burnie High School and you have been elected. You're one
of the rare examples of a high school student who
has been elected and won a seat on the school board.
How amaz you congratulations? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Uh yeah, I mean.
Speaker 10 (11:04):
It's it's it's really it's amazing. You know, there's definitely
there's some articles the one recently in the in the
Capitolzette that I talk about, you know, my story and
everything and why it's why. It's definitely I don't want
to say surprising, but definitely different and definitely new to
have someone like myself, you know, represent every single student
(11:25):
in this county.
Speaker 11 (11:26):
So it's it's amazing and I'm you.
Speaker 10 (11:28):
Know, proud to be here, and I'm honored to be here.
And it's been it's been a very amazing past month
since I've been elected in a very amazing what is
it now eighteen days since I've been sworn into office.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
He was sworn in the beginning of this month. Hey,
uh Bray, let me Brandon, let me ask you buddy.
Uh So, So, what I've found fascinating reading about your
story was in the Sun, that's been everywhere you And
you're not embarrassed to say you're not a straight A student, right,
(11:58):
You're a little bit more typical. You would say, what's
your GPA? What range are we in?
Speaker 11 (12:05):
I want to say we're in around three five to
three seven, So you know, I'm not going to say
that there's a low GPA, but compared.
Speaker 10 (12:10):
To former smiles and mobs from other places, that's that's
not very typically high. And you know, now the grades
have improved in the class rigor has improved, but that
GPA really stems from my freshman my freshman year and
even so in my sophomore year, where I wasn't in
those high level classes, which I think has given me
a great experience to represent a often unheard of large
(12:31):
group of students from our county.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
So, as a school board member for Inronal County, what
are the what are a couple of issues that are
really important to you?
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Like what are you trying to get accomplished while you're there?
Speaker 11 (12:43):
So, of course, obviously as many known Amrac County are
facing redistricting, that's going to be a very big thing
that we are you know, working hard at.
Speaker 10 (12:51):
And I'll get you know, a lot of inbox for
My biggest overarching idea though outside of redistricting is more
students involved. You know, that definitely stems from my story
of coming from a student who wasn't involved and definitely
reshaping what involvement means and you know, having students be
able to find their pathway more.
Speaker 11 (13:10):
Easily because there's so many great.
Speaker 10 (13:11):
Opportunities within a CPS, but not many people know about
them or at least in some cases, and so.
Speaker 11 (13:18):
Really creating those.
Speaker 10 (13:18):
Opportunities for students to learn about opportunities is extremely important
to me. And in that I believe special education is
a very big scene that needs you know, a lot
of attention, there's a lot of focus. Yeah, we need
to you know, get those students hurt, get those students
represented a lot better. And so those are the two
(13:39):
things that I've already been working at and hopefully seeing
some some things on on pen and paper and getting
started very soon. Idea is always going to be getting
students involved.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
All right, Okay, here's what I need to know. So
many people deal with like imposter syndrome. I don't like
they have a seat at the table, but they don't
speak up. Maybe they don't even know how to get
a seat at the table. You are a young person
that's going to be in many rooms with older, more
experienced people. What's your advice for speaking up and getting
(14:12):
your voice heard?
Speaker 10 (14:15):
Ask questions first, I think would be the biggest thing.
You know, ask questions and make sure you're understanding on
whatever you're going to speak on.
Speaker 11 (14:25):
Is you know valid?
Speaker 10 (14:27):
You know, so that you were speaking about and say
thing doesn't exist, make sure it doesn't first. But you know,
at at the end of the day, you know, be confident,
especially as young people. You know, even if you're confidently wrong,
you know you can you'll be corrected nicely, you know,
so definitely speak up. You know, as young people, a
lot of times there's there's a lot of there's some people.
Speaker 11 (14:47):
That won't listen to younger people. You know. That's why
this role is is the way it is, and that's
why there's some people would disagree with it.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
But Braiden, we're gonna have a little bit more with you.
And to a minute, I gotta play a song. You're
gonna be right back with Braydon from the school board
and nan around account no good to key burning through
a second win.
Speaker 11 (15:05):
Turns these doubles erling and transulting and burning match James.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
It's pet me black and blue.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
They're calling good violence shocking strappy.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I got a problem and it ain't even you.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
It ain't even your kay. This haven't anything in college.
A bout.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
A ninety three point one w POC Michael j and
Bethany and we've got Bryden Morgan. He attends Glenn Burney
High School. He's going to be a senior coming up
this year. And bray is on the line. He is
a member now of the an Arumbo County school Board.
(16:05):
Have you signed any autographs yet, Bray.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
I have.
Speaker 10 (16:11):
As much as uh as much as people will joke
about it, and no.
Speaker 11 (16:14):
One's ever to my knowledge been serious and asking for
an autograph.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
I'm not sure I'm asking for the one.
Speaker 11 (16:20):
I think I'll put that in the nail.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Yeah, dude, I really think you You're an amazing guy.
And Beth and new you were asking him about what
he's planning after school after Yeah, you think you're gonna
do a polysci thing after school?
Speaker 11 (16:33):
I think polysci, you know, be a minor an environment
or whatever. You know, my biggest interest is by then.
Speaker 10 (16:39):
But yeah, poly sides are very uh looks, let's look
right for me, very broad so I can still continue
to do now, is it difficult?
Speaker 1 (16:47):
I remember when I was a high school senior. I
mean it was a lot just to handle getting my
homework done and going out on the date night. And
you're on the the school board and you you said,
all play soccer. You play soccer. And you told less
off the air that you work with your dad in construction.
How in the heck do you have time for everything?
Speaker 11 (17:07):
You know, my parents, my family are amazing support. You know,
they helped me a lot. My my counselor Machine and
Heller over at Glenburnie uh has has had me in
her office many.
Speaker 10 (17:18):
Many times discussing. You know, my schedule for next year
and how I be able to go to hands it Also,
the short answer is you know, having those people who
support you and keeping that keeping organized.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Do do teachers say hey Bray, uh, you know can
help you with that grade? Uh you're going on the
school board and put a good word in for us?
I would I would think that would be a good position,
Like the teachers would do they do they act nicer
to you? Or is it just the same for real?
Speaker 11 (17:43):
I mean it's I think it's just the same. You know,
I had I was going to a report with many
of the teachers at our school. Some of them will definitely,
you know, if they have a genuine concern for something,
they will have you know, that conversation with me, which
I think is amazing.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Wow.
Speaker 11 (17:57):
I'm always for having conversations with anybody.
Speaker 10 (18:00):
Who who I can support and you know, learn from.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
All Right, bethany any other questions for Braiden? No, I
just feel like, isn't an amazing You've got a bright
future ahead of you. Thanks for taking time out of
your morning to chat with us.
Speaker 10 (18:13):
Yeah, of course, I thank you guys for having me
and you know, anyone listening on the air, please you know,
feel free to reach out, you know, always always taking
and learning from.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
So Braiden Morgan is going to be a senior at
glenn Burnie High School. He's been elected. Now eighteen days
you've been in the school board. Your first big meeting
is coming up next week. Are you nervous about that?
Speaker 10 (18:40):
Not nervous per se, definitely focused for you know, that's
a big meeting, as you know, anyone many many know,
it's a very big meeting where we will superintendent will
propose the recommendation for districting.
Speaker 11 (18:51):
So that's a very very important meeting. You know, it's
definitely a definitely an interesting.
Speaker 10 (18:55):
Meeting to be to be my first.
Speaker 11 (18:57):
But you know, excited and very focused.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
That's very cool. Yeah, I would hold off at the
first meeting on taking your shoe off and banging it
on the countertop to make a point. I wait till
the second or third meeting before you do that. But Brandon,
we're very excited to meet you and congratulations, very very cool.
On the school board.
Speaker 3 (19:16):

Speaker 1 (20:20):
All right, there is a noise in locus Point. We're
hearing about. There's two military ships.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Yes, they they are making a buzzing like a machiney
kind of noise.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
And why is this happening?
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Well, because they're there and the people there's people living
on the boats from what I understand, Okay, and they,
you know, need the boats need to be turned on.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
I understand that. But they're just stuck in the same
place and they could be there for up to six months.
Oh my man, they're going to be doing this for
six months, for up to six months, and people are
complaining not happy about this. So but I don't know
what it sounds like.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
So being an audio medium, I thought, well, what better
way for all of us to understand what's happening in
locus Point.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
But then someone who lives there, or at least drives
through call us and make the noise is you know,
we need a reenactment so we can we want to
feel like we are in locus Point. All right, Uh,

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Oh look at that your family. Oh that's very sweet
and the family's going to be very impressed. We've got
Brooke behind the scenes running everything, right brook Yeah, she's
in charge. So Brooks gonna join us more in a
little while. But the hot seat, she's gonna help out,
so this I thought this was a bit.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Stephen Colbert shocked everybody when he announced on his show
the other night that CBS had canceled his late night show,
which is not just his late night show, it's like
David Letterman Show and Johnny Carson.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Show, Like this is a big date. It was the
tonight show.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so no more after. I think May
six is going to be the last show. And I
think that's proof that like maybe broadcast TV is.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Or maybe it's because it got so political and it
got so one sided that people are just like, I've
had enough this, But hasn't it hasn't Those late night
shows have been like that for years. I know that.
See if you think back to Letterman when he was
the Man and even Leno, they weren't political. They were
just they had fun. Then all these shows got so
(24:56):
opinionated and one sided. I think people like, turn that off.
I don't want to hear that at the end of
the long day. Well that's interesting, That's what I'm like,
I'm done with him. If you want to.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Weigh in on that, because I would love to hear
your opinion on that. Seven seven ninety six to begin
your message with high or Hey, a rare piece of
Mars was sold at auction for five million dollars this week,

have that, and somebody texted in that you have to
wear compression socks and exercise.

Speaker 1 (25:47):

Late night show canceled by CBS okay, and I just
thought that it was the end of network.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Teav I said, I believe by this point in the day,
you put the TV on your you're you're just looking
for something to make you laugh, wind down, and then
you see some guy on there just going on and
on about politics, and I'm like, switch next channel, something else.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Somebody said, nope, I'm devastated, and then someone else said,
too political, it's not funny.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Amen.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I agree with Michael. I used to love watching the
late night shows, but he's right. They just keep bringing
politics and their personal views to the show.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
One guy in one side, one guy on the other,
the extreme, and they're just like, I don't want to
hear anymore of this.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Somebody said, I hated that night show because it seems
so political. Yes. I couldn't stand listening to him because
it was either bash one president or the wah wah
wah wah wah wah.
Speaker 10 (27:14):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
He said, Jimmy Kimmel's not that bad. Uh. Hey, Michael
j you hit the nail on the head.
Speaker 2 (27:19):

being funny and they were too political.
