(00:00):
It's the new hit list on iHeartRadio. I'm Angelina. We are always trying
to put on, you know, artists that are about to blow up.
So if you've been sleeping on thisgirl, you need to stop. Alicia
Credi, how are you? Hey? You like having so cute? You
look cute? This hat? Thanks? This is my like you know what
is this three day old hair?Hot to situation? That's why I have

(00:20):
my glasses on to you. Iwas like, I didn't refresh my hair
anyway. Mix it. Your EPis out now, Selfless. How are
you feeling now that it's like outin the world. Oh my god,
it's like a freaking roller coaster ofemotions, just like it's just been crazy.
And then the tour started like rightafter. Yeah, it's just the

(00:41):
most insane like send off to kindof we literally just did the release.
What is it like, maybe it'slike a week ago now, and yeah,
started the tour and performing them andseeing people just kind of singing it
under their breath and yeah, howlong were you working on this line?
This was so the huge, hugechunk of it was really two years in

(01:06):
the making. Wow, two yearsago and I had just written congratulations like
many years ago, like in college, just like at the piano of the
house I grew up in, likesobbing after a breakup. Oh my god.
Yeah, So it's been kind ofin the works for a second,
and it feels like the start ofthis new journey in my life that has

(01:30):
been you know this one to eightyfrom like finance in Montreal, working in
aerospace to like TikTok virality literally overnightand then just meeting my manager that way
and yeah, starting to make thisproject like from that point onwards. Yeah,
just going back and forth. Ohmy god, your TikTok is so
poppen. What was the first videofor you that like took off? So

(01:53):
the first one was like a coverof All I Want for Christmas is you
Queen Mariah. It was wrong Christmas. And then after that it was Session
thirty two Summer Walker, and that'sreally what got me, you know out
in la is that a lot ofgreat influences because I feel like it's like

(02:14):
it's hard to put you in likeany kind of box really because it's like
gray, soulful like R and Bis, but like you still got You're
still very pop too, you knowwhat I mean? Like, yeah,
I don't even know what to callit, honestly, me neither me neither.
It's it's just kind of like richand a lot of textures. And
I'm just a big fan of likestorytellers and insane and saying vocalists, but

(02:36):
that can be you know, likeemotive artists, and I feel like Summer
Walker is so that for me.Yeah, because I absolutely feel wholeheartedly like
every single lyric that she's singing, like let's say, like throw it Away
for example, Like just singing throwit Away over and over again, I'm
like sobbing. But like the theactual intention and wait behind those words for

(02:59):
her is like why it's so special. So that was yeah, the session
Session Theory Do Cover was, youknow, just one of those songs too.
Yeah. I feel like you're alsolike super vulnerable in your music.
Does that come easy to you, like or is it kind of a harder
process to like put your whole selfout there and your emotions. So I
feel like the part that comes easyis writing it because that's just what I've

(03:22):
always done, like from since Iwas a kid, you know, I
was like six years old. I'mlike, mom, I wrote this song,
like I wrote, kid, itwas no structure, Like I couldn't
spell, Like I really have thislike journal with this song. That's why
I like in the bathroom while she'sdoing her makeup. Yeah, that's when
she's like, Okay, we're gonnaget you in piano lessons. Yeah,

(03:43):
oh my god, that's crazy. It's more putting it out. That's the
hard part, and it's the newpart. But the only thing I know
how to do is like be myjust just kind of like bear my whole
soul into the song because that wasreally how I got through everything in my
life. So there's like a kindof a form of therapy for you absolutely
writing it down and then yeah, and it was just for me, like

(04:06):
it was always, you know, when I was younger, I would write
songs that were like seven minutes longbecause it just felt like like I had
so much to say. And yeah, you're like I'm not down. Yeah
yeah, like I'm like I'm goingthrough it. Like let's say, like
your first heartbreak when you're like fifteenyears old. Oh my god, yeah
wrong, oh yeah, yeah,am I the drum over here? And

(04:30):
yeah, I would just be kindof like writing and singing that at the
piano was really my like that wasmy therapy. Like I had to scream
those words like just over and overand over until I felt better. Yeah,
what's a song for you that likeyou wrote when you were like maybe
down bad or you're really feeling itand you go back to it now and
you're just like, I don't evencare about that anymore, Like I can't
believe I was like feeling that way. Congratulations really for sure, because that

(04:55):
was one that like it felt likeit was the end of the world when
I wrote it. To be verytruthful, I did not see a future
in my life when you know,I was in that situation and that was
the part that was scary to me. Like I feel like I always manifested
and I have always been like adreamer that I would like see these vivid
images of like me on a stageor like getting a diploma, like these

(05:17):
kinds of things that I feel likehelped me to actually achieve it. They
started going away, and I'm like, yikes, like I feel like this
is like everything to me. Whyam I just like seeing just like black,
you know, And now I don'tfeel that way at all, Like
I feel like I'm like living ina dream. So it feels like the

(05:40):
whole opposite of that state, Andhow did you get out of that moment
writing the song? Yeah, that'scrazy because it's a song that I tried
to get produced and recorded for awhile. Like I wrote it maybe like
five six years ago, like somethinglike this, and I really wanted to
get it produced. And I haveit more than just you know, a

(06:01):
piano come this point, like Istarted feeling kind of limited by just me
and the piano life. Okay, like love her, but yeah we need
some songs. Yeah, I needto you know, collaborate, and it
just was never right and I feellike it really came at the right moment.
And it also came out at atime where I was like so close
to giving up on that song,Like I'm like, it's never gonna come

(06:23):
out, Like we've tried it somany times and it's not working. Oh
wow. So it feels like thatone's really been in the making. But
that's it. Yeah, a songthat was written from like just like the
freaking pits of despair, and it'sthe one that actually like got me my
start. That's crazy. It's likeI don't even know this girl anymore.
That wrote that song. Yeah, yeah, it is, it really is.

(06:45):
So you're writing music first and thenmom got you in the piano lessons.
Yeah. When did you find outthough? That you can see?
Because your voice howl? Are youI'm twenty five? Oh your voice?
You sound like you've lived many liveslike you are just like so raw.
When did you find out? Like, okay, I guessing I feel like
my earliest memory is like kindergarten. So I had this teacher who was like

(07:11):
a fucking angel okay, my damstella, and we would be coloring and
it was like quiet time, andI was just humming to myself, like
I always just hummed to myself.Just that's all the time even now.
Yeah, and she like she said, who's humming? Like who's singing?
And I thought I was in trouble. Like all the kids were like like

(07:33):
whui, you know, like we'resix years old. And the kid ran
in front of me like points tome, and it's like it was her.
I'm like wow, like thanks, you know, like I'm like no,
I'm gonna get in Chile. AndI was I was nervous, like
the whole class was looking at me. And she literally says that's beautiful,
keep going And I was like,oh my god, I love that,
like win teacher for real. Andyeah, it was like kind of like

(07:57):
these little moments in school that Ifeel like made me even realize that I
was singing to myself. Yeah, because I feel like I was just a
kid, like I always created, like I was more into painting and drawing,
and I was like drying all overthe walls and yeah, crazy things.
So you're like super creative the everywhere. I would say, definitely leaning
towards the outside and no athletic abilitylike at all. Yeah, neither.

(08:24):
But I also can't write or singor anything else. Can I can just
talk? Same, very good attalking. No, that's amazing. And
then so the EP's out now andyou are on tour with Mahalia. Yes,
how did that come about? So? Oh my god, I don't
even know. It was like Ifeel like it was just you know,
my team, and there was somuch outreach that was going on, and

(08:46):
you know, we were trying toget the tour and did you guys do
you guys know each other before? So we didn't know each other before,
and she is somebody that was literallyin my playlist, like with the girls,
you know, the first one ofmy girls that got their license.
When we'd be in the Fiat justlike blasting music, like picking all of
us up and like going to literallyfucking anywhere, Like do Not Disturb was

(09:09):
in the rotation. Yeah, Iwould sing that shit. So that was
just like an early memory early on. But my manager literally calls me and
she's like, I have good news, and I like knew that this was
like a pending question, so I'mlike say it. I'm like shut I'm

(09:31):
and you're going on Tolia. Soyeah, it just feels so so surreal,
and she's the sweetest and it's beensuper fun. Yeah, the crowd
has been incredible in every city, and I'm just so happy to be on
the road, Like I love performingand seeing everybody in person is like the

(09:52):
most surreal feeling. It just feelsvery real. And yeah, it's crazy.
Is it like s trippy for you? Because I see these are songs
that are like really close to youand you're very vulnerable in your music.
It's it kind of trippy to yousinging people sing like word for word these
songs, you know, low key, I'm nervous for Montreal for that reason
because I'm like, whoa, I'mso candid. But it's also kind of

(10:16):
liberating, like it feels very likecats out of the bag, like this
is me. There's just like nowhereto hide anymore, so fuck it,
like I'm just gonna be me,and so many people like relate to it.
I think that's the that's honestly thepart. Yeah, like writing this
ship feeling so alone and you know, having this come out of it just
like literally a room full of peoplefeeling the same way, is the most

(10:41):
like insane kind of connection. It'slike mind blowing. Oh yeah, so
what's next for you? I actuallyhave a song coming out soon in March,
in March this week, this Friday. I'm not sure, and I
really i'm not sure that like ifI'm actually gonna be honest, I really
don't know when. But okay, you're like that. For now, it's

(11:05):
really just on the road and playin all of these shows and yeah,
there's a song coming out soon.I'm very excited. Yes, I'm super
excited, selfless in heavy rotation. What can fans expect on this tour?
Definitely a lot of crying, yeah, a lot of emotions. Yeah,

(11:31):
it's it's a cool intimate, intimateset that I feel grateful to to you
know, have the chance to doin these kinds of rooms where it feels
super intimate and just like we're allchilling and yeah, it's it's so if
you want to get a good cryin, you got some emotions to feel,
hit up ready, show some laughsomecrimes like oh, that's like all

(11:56):
my favorite things. Well, thanksso much for hanging out with us.
Appreciate you guys.
