(00:00):
It's the new hitlist on iHeartRadio.I'm Angelina with Oliver Tree. How's it
going. I'm a little chick thatit's already December. I know what happened?
What the hell happened here? Godeven blink fully, and I'm like,
what the heck? How's the yearfor treating you? Though? It's
been incredible. I'm in the middleof an expedition. I'm doing seven continents

(00:23):
in three months. So I startedin Bali, Indonesia, went across Australia,
then went to Africa, then wentto across Europe in the UK,
and then I just flew in todayfor the first time in two months to
Florida. I'm going to be herefor a couple of days to play a

(00:44):
show, and then I'm going directlyto Buenos Ayres, Argentina, and then
Chile, and then I'm going downto play a show in Antarctica, my
lifelong dream. So I'm very excited. I've been going to such crazy different
places and taking a selfie in thesame shirt in each seven continents. I

(01:04):
have this dumb and dumber So yeah, it's been it's been epic. I'm
still shocked, though, like, where the heck did the year go?
Even though I only was in Americafor two months out of the whole year,
it just flew by. I don'teven know where the heck anything.
I don't even know what happened thisyear. I'm trying to look at the
calendar. I was like, whendid anything this happen? Right now?

(01:26):
You've been on the move for shortwhat was the best part for you,
like in that trip, because that'sthat's insane. Let's just see here.
I think probably one of the highlightsactually was in Africa. I went to
shaw Mel Shake in Egypt, andthen I went to Dahab and then I
went like, uh, wake surfingand snorkeling. The water is so incredibly

(01:49):
warm and the craziest sea life ever. That was a highlight. Bali,
Indonesia is always a highlight. Hadan amazing time across Europe, and I
was just in this place called Georgia. It's a country, not the state
to Blissi. I went to Kasbegi, which is six miles from the Russian
border. I was on the topof this snowy mountain and I was taking

(02:10):
a selfie there with my dumb anddummer shirt in the middle of a snow
blizzard, and some fans saw methere and that was pretty funny. They're
like, what are you doing? What is going on here? Why are
you wearing? But there was somany highlights. Honestly, I feel so
blessed to be alive. I don'tlive anywhere. I don't rent a house,
I don't own a house. Ijust travel. I prioritize exploring and

(02:31):
new journeys over material goods, soI don't own stuff. Everything I have
fits into this little carry on suitcaseright now. And I bought like a
really cheap o' one and the thinggot locked and I had to rip it
open, so only one side shutsnow, and I've been flying around with
this single hinge. I'm holding onby a thread. At this point,

(02:52):
it's all about to fall apart.Man, that's so amazing, though.
I'm like, I haven't traveled ina really long time because work is just
here for me. But like,do you feel like a new person or
do you like find new things aboutyourself? I always have that feeling of
like you know when you walk outof a movie theater and you're like,
I'm so disconnected from the world. It's like it's only been two hours.
Yeah, I think it makes mefeel more connected if anything, just because

(03:14):
I get to take in so muchdifferent types of people. Different Like,
for example, I just played ashow in Germany. It was a TV
show performance and hanging out with allthe artists, sitting around with them on
the couch and just you know, they're just speaking in German the whole time,
and obviously I got to hang andtalk. A lot of them spoke
English, so we were hanging outstill, but it was just like you
know, getting a glimpse into likethe coolest German artists. It was so

(03:37):
like pure connection to cultures. SoI feel like I get to get a
glimpse into the culture pretty heavily, especially when I spend some time in a
place and get to really explore itand eat the foods. And I'm always
like, oh yeah, I'm tryingto get healthy and trying to take care
of myself to maintain this traveling lifestyle. So like, for example, at
twenty eight hour flight yesterday, threedifferent flights to get back to America,

(04:00):
and I woke up today at sevenin the morning, went right to the
gym. So I'm trying to maintainthis health thing. But I'm also balancing
that and being like, well,it's my last day in Italy, I
gotta enjoy the whole here. Andthen you know, two days later,
I'm like, it's my last dayin France. I have to have a
couple more, you know, Andit's like constantly finding excuse you know,

(04:21):
you gotta do it, you canlike all those different cultures. Do you
think it like inspired you in yourmusic and like maybe sounds you want to
try differently? For sure. Ithink there's a dream I have now that
is doing an album that's just withdifferent artists around the world, and I
want to film like a TV showkind of idea around that where I try

(04:42):
to go to over the course ofthree or four months, like maybe forty
countries or something like that, andspend three days in each one and just
get to record with a bunch ofdifferent artists. And I definitely am constantly
like listening to the radio in theseother places, or you know, when
I'm driving through like a blizzard, like the last couple of days, and
I'm like turn up the music andthey're playing me like the craziest music out

(05:02):
of this culture I never even heardof, you know, And so getting
a chance to just soak that upis a huge part of it for me.
That's so dope, man. Earliertoday, I mean later today,
I'm going to be going to SantaCruz. Oh, I love it.
Yeah, I'm the in Gave Arenahost for the Santa Cruz Warriors, a
G League team. Have you beenkeeping up basketball at all while even on

(05:24):
the I'm out of the loop ofeverything politics, sports. I'm so out
of the loop. I I I'mnot informed of any of this stuff.
But you know, I I doenjoy a football game, you know,
some soccer. I like some basketball. But I'm out of the loop.
All right. Well, you knowit's been a stressful season over here,

(05:45):
so you're saving on the anxiety alonein a crowd. Now that that that
it's out, now, how doyou feel like? You know, now
that I think there's like so muchbuild up in like the rollout and like,
you know, working on the project, But now that you know it's
been out for a few months andfans got to stay with it for a
little bit, how are you feelingabout the project. I'm feeling great about
it. I'm very excited about themusic I made over the course of three

(06:06):
years, and I made many albumswith the album. It was the eleventh
version of the Alone in the Crowdalbum was really many albums and it evolved
into what became the one that wasreleased. Really proud of the music videos.
I was living in Serbia at thetime and film the craziest brutalist architecture.
So as a director, I wasvery inspired by the Eastern Bloc and

(06:29):
I designed the clothing ford and hada lot of fun with just building the
world around it. The music I'mreally proud of. I recorded around the
world, spent a lot of timein Rio de Janeiro finishing it out there,
recording it in Brazil. Super superinspiring journey. But yeah, I
think ultimately now is the most excitingpart because I get to play the album

(06:53):
live and it's a mixture. Mylive show is two hours long, so
it's all the greatest hits from allthe different albums in the different eras,
and so it's a mixture of this, movie, TV show, play.
Concert has w w E wrestling, scooter stunts, stand up comedy, motivational
speaking, it has belly dancing. There's an orchestra that plays alongside me.

(07:15):
It's a very wild mixture of multimedia. And yeah, this is one show.
It's my two hour show that Iplay every single night, and yeah,
I'm really excited about it. Andit spans from dance music, pop
music, rock music, country music, rap music. It really takes you
on quite a journey through all thesedifferent eras and styles and it's been really

(07:40):
exciting seeing the music connect live andseeing you know, because that's kind of
the way you promote it nowadays,it's not really all the album comes out
and everyone really like gets to connectwith that. There's so much oversaturation of
albums that, you know, theway that it really comes to life is
when you play it live and youget to see people's you know, really
interact with the music. And it'svery beautiful thing. Man, that's it.

(08:01):
That's like so much in the showw W wrestling. Are you big
wrestling fan? I am, andI do some karate in the show as
well. But yeah, any chanceI have to beat people up is you
know, it's a crazy Yeah,then I'm excited. You're coming to the
Fox February night. Back in theday, what is your favorite thing about

(08:22):
the Bay Area? Mhmm. Let'ssee, there's a lot of amazing stuff.
I would say ultimately, though,my favorite thing in the Bay is
being able to to see my oldfriends. I used to go to s
F State and I have a communityaround there, a bunch of artists that
I grew up with and a bunchof my friends from middle school and high

(08:45):
school. So getting to just hangwith with the homies. And obviously you
got incredible food, so much goodspots. But yeah, I was gonna
ask, what can you expect fromthe show, but obviously a whole bunch.
I'll wrap it up with what isnext for you, because obviously you
got everything going on right now?Antarctica next week. I'm very excited going
to be going there from the thirteenthto twentieth, so I can't wait for

(09:07):
that. And then yeah, justpretty much trying to finish my expeditions through
the year and then entering into mynext chapter as a DJ doctor Oliver Tree.
I'm unveiling that in Antarctica, andthen I'm doing a bunch of DJ
tours this year as well, andmy showing Antarctica is the first time I'm
djaying since in high school when Iopened up for Scrillicks in San Francisco.

(09:30):
Out Wobble in twenty eleven, soit's a full circle moment and re entering
in with a whole new perspective. So I'm pretty excited about that. Man,
that's so dope. Well I'm excitedagain. You're gonna be at the
Fox February night. The Baker waitto see you, and I'll be there
for sure, So I can't waitto see the show. Amazing, So
nice to see you. Thanks foryour time, all right, have a
good one piece
