Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh, why, hello there, it's Danny here on the w
l l R studio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
It sure sounded just like Danny.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
That's great.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
That Oh my gosh, how you guys?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Hi Dan, goodest. Good to finally meet you via phone call.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
But yeah, I wish I wish I could like just
put my little picture up over that, or we were
facetiming or something like that. That could be kind of fun.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
That could be fun. That absolutely could be fun. Yeah,
we could do that next time or something I don't
mean happens all the way over in like near Rockford area.
If there's a time that we can come in the studio,
you know and just maybe sit there and just hang
out for for a bit or whatever and just say hey,
you know, nothing even on the air, but just to
come and say, hey, do you guys.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
We would love that. And you know, I've I've done
some FaceTime set like some recording for like Facebook in
the future, and you know people have you know, played
a few songs or played a few things. I would
love that. You guys are welcome anytime.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Oh wow, that's that's great. I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
So just you listen, I have listened to your stuff.
Your stuff is great now for people who are tuning
into our podcast. Here I am talking to roseland so
we have Cameron and we have Gavin, and I think
the very first thing I want to ask us. First off,
you guys are around this area. So I'm so excited

(01:18):
to start featuring some of our local artists or regional artists.
I just want to like, how did you guys meet?
Like what happened here?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Oh? So me and Cameron actually came from a background
of rock bands. Sure, we had a battle of the
bands out. I believe it was Dabcourt Crawl Cameron.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, it was it the for MVF when entertainment was
putting that thing on for Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Oh I remember that, you.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Know, to open up. Yeah, so they no longer do that.
But that's that's where I'm met him.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, we met. Both of our bands made the top
ten and we just got to talk in that day
and a little while afterwards. How I get a call
or a message from Cameron and he's like, hey, you
ever done for music? And I'm like, well, actually I
would love to try out. Well, I've bet a deep
country music since I was young, but it's hard finding
younger guys that want to play country music, especially back

(02:11):
when we started our rock careers. Now we found a
great group of guys. You know, me and Cameron are
unstoppable together. We're constantly working, and yeah, that's how we met.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah, I love that now because you guys now are
officially not just quantity base, but your ACM and CMA members.
And oh my gosh, talk to me about the Josie
Award because I saw that video. How exciting was that?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Pretty unreal? Yeah, for sure, grand Ole Opry. I mean,
you know, it's like one of those things that you
you know, you almost got to pinch yourself when you're
sitting in the you know, when you're sitting in the
stands and then you know they call your name and
you're like unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
So now we've done on our little on our little
brochure for the Josie Music Awards, on our winning brochure,
it said that there're seventy five thousand nominations and only
one hundred and ninety six winners. It was an absolute
honor to get to stand in that circle where so
many legends have got to stand.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Absolutely Yeah, oh my gosh, you guys are so I
was going to say, so lucky, but no so talented,
so happy to have you as a part of our
region here, so close to home, and yet you know,
just oh so talented. All right, So I've hadn't I've
had an opportunity to go to your website roseland music

(03:27):
dot com and and I said that right, I'm sorry
Roselandcountry Music dot I have it bookmarked now. So but
I've gotten a chance to listen to some of your
music and I just love it. It's just speaks to
me the way country music should. He So yeah, talk
about Lives in the Whiskey just a.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Great song in our opinion. I mean it was just
lightening in a bottle, which doesn't happen all the time. Uh.
You know, when we're writing, you know there's some some instrumentals.
You know, there's some guitar parts that really speak to
me or you know, speak to Gavin, and you know
there's always lyrics that you can throw around. But you know,
until you're inspired by an instrumental or a musical right

(04:11):
that the initial the initial couple of seconds of you know,
that intro guitar or whether it be a steal or
a banjo, you know, it just it could be one
of those filler songs, or it could be what we
think Liz in a Whiskey is, and we just think
it's a you know, top tier song.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I mean, right as soon as Cameron sent me that instrumental,
I was like, it's one of those things. Within the
first you know, that first opening, little little writ on
the guitar, I was like, oh man, I'm gonna kill this.
You know we're gonna learn this song. Yeah, just so catchy,
just so beautiful, you know, without even lyrics on there.

(04:48):
I mean, you're already sucked in in my opinion, And
obviously I'm biased, but.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
That's okay, just a great song, be biased, because it
really does. I think people need to know more about this. Initially,
when Cameron reached out to me, He's like, I think
people need to know about Roseland, and he is so right.
People do need. If you don't know these guys want
you to go to their website, find out more about them,
see their see their videos. I mean, you guys are

(05:13):
getting national.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Video play, that's right. Yep. We just got added to
the American Country Network, which is.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Not quite as which is another honor.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
We got asked, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we don't.
I mean, we haven't been reaching out to a lot
of these people, like you know, the same thing with
the the ACMs. You know, that's an invite, only you
don't just go get to submit your you know, hey,
I'd like to be a part of the ACMs. No,
they send you an invite link to apply. So that's
an invite to apply, and then you're not even guaranteed
that you know. So it was just incredible and you know,

(05:43):
to only think that we've been playing live shows for
it'll be a year in April, yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yeah, so new and yet so seasoned.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Me and me and Cameron really took probably a good
close to a year before we ever played a show
to really you know, like we've been in these bands before.
Like I said, we came from the rock world. We've
we've done this, We've been around the block. Uh So
we weren't going to come out with this until we
were one hundred percent ready to give everybody a show
that looks like we've been playing for years on our

(06:14):
very first show.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
So nice, and the opportunities that we've been getting along
the way, right, you know with those shows has you know,
obviously been a testament to you know, the belief system,
and a lot of these guys like you know, Scott
at the Rust Belt, Sean at the at the Missipi Valley.
Fair right, So Sean's Shawn's the one who gave us
Anne's number and said, hey man, you really need to
get ahold of get ahold of Anne and and see

(06:36):
if she can't get you know, get with Danny and
and see what can you know we can kind of
do to get Rosan up and bumping in the Quad
City since we are right here, you know.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
So yeah, yeah, that was a good plan. That was
a really good plan.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Great plan, Yeah, great plan. It's good to have a
great team behind you that.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Believe in you absolutely. And so as people are like,
oh my gosh, I really want to see these guys
just you know, Cameron Gavin, give me an idea. I mean,
they can go to your website and find out where
you're going to be, but give us an idea of
what your next few months or this year is going
to look like as you're out and about well we start.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
We just got done in Des Moines last Saturday, and
so we are we're not going to be in the
Quad Cities for some time until something comes up. Right, Well,
we got a couple.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Of things under the you know, under the table that
we're working on hoping for the Quad Cities, right right,
We're we're hoping for approval from cool names and you know,
let's we're kind of at the mercy of them when
it comes to that sometimes.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
But yeah, but yeah, we're Saint Louis in March. March first,
we'll be in Saint Louis, yeah, and then we're back
in Des Moines May seventeenth at Miss Kiddies, and then
June we are at Winstock Country Music Festival on the
main stage, which was a Wild Wild honor.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Well that's Minnesota. I mean, that's not far right.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah, yeah, there's a that's a little bit of a
little bit of a trick for us. But I mean,
what is it. It's got to be four and four
and a half hours or so from from the Quad city,
so well yeah, but it's a festival.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Yeah, and if people are going, they're going to go
for the festival, they're going to stay, they're going to camp,
they're going to enjoy other things too. It's just a
great way to get out. Gosh.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Yeah, yeah, wait, for a festival season and fair season
and hopefully we can you know, hopefully we get worked
in and uh, you know, do some work with the
NBF and the whole deal.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
All right, So discography is on all the streaming platforms.
What does that mean? All the streaming platform Apple, blah
blah blah, all the things.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Okay, everywhere you can find music, you can find Roland.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
I love it and so if people want to find
out more, first off, let me plug your single again
Lives in the Whiskey. It's got a video for it too,
Do not wait, Go see it right now, Go watch it,
Go listen to it. And then roselandcountry music dot com
to find out more information about the guys, and then
make sure you're streaming their stuff everywhere you get your

(09:02):
streaming music. Because I've been so excited to talk to
people that I will in a few years be able
to say I knew them when and this is good yep,
and this is a du well. I'm super excited to
be able to say that about Weird.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Gonna know it as hard as we can to make
that a reality. So absolutely, absolutely, just really happy to
make a quad, to be proud and put together a
product out there that you know that everybody can get behind.
That isn't you know, isn't something that you hear every
you know, every weekend out at you know these the
different bars with live music, and you know, just really
putting out a solid product that sounds like you know

(09:37):
you would hear on the radio.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Yeah. Absolutely, really working hard.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Love it so once again, Gavin Cameron, thank you for
being here. Roseland and I want to say roselandcountry music
dot Com please go hear their stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
