Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's the Valley's Best Mix Mix ninety six nine.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm Priscilla. It is time for What's Trending.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
Brought to you by Hila River Resorts and Casinos.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
So we found.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Out earlier last week that Kendrick Lamar was going to
be the super Bowl halftime performer for the twenty twenty
five super Bowl, and a lot of people loved it.
But a lot of people were confused because they assumed
that Lil Wayne was going to be selected since he's
from New Orleans, the background, everything that has to do
with it, right, Well, he's actually out sharing his thoughts
(00:33):
and it actually really hurt his feelings.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Hurt a lot.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown.
It made me.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Feel like this happened tone too.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
You guys reminded me that I ain't shit without jump.
I feel like I let.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
All of y'all down.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
So I wonder if he just assumed that he was
going to get the position and maybe didn't do what
he needed to do to earn it, and he's kind
of feeling it so such.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
A bummer for him. It would have been really cool to.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
See I'm not gonna lie but I am excited to
see Kendrick Lamar. Dexter's prequel series is going to be
out on Sunday, December fifteenth. This show looks awesome if
you like the original Dexter. Of course, it'll be available
to stream two days earlier on Paramount with Showtime, but
check that out.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Also, Justin Timberlake officially speaks.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
He pleaded guilty to a non criminal traffic violation after
June his June eighteenth arrest while driving impaired, and he
actually spoke outside of the courtroom and he had this
to say, I.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Found myself in a position where I could have made
a different decision, but I've had some time to reflect
on that, and I also understand by you know, the
fact that all of you are here, that I have
a platform, you have a platform.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
We share that platform.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
And so what I'd like to say to everyone watching
and listening, and if you've had one drink, don't get
behind the wheel of a car.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
He goes on to just kind of share how apologetic
he is and how thanked everybody for all of their
time and effort to keep everything safe.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
And you know, he apologized to.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
His family and his fans and he'd put a lot
of emphasis on it only being one drink, but he's right,
even one drink. Don't get behind the wheel, Okay, on
the way with your sip of the day. This first
grade class learned something very specific for another classmate to
make her feel included. It is so sweet. We'll do
(02:33):
that around six forty a mix. It's the Valley's Best
Mixed sixth ninety six y nine. Your chance to go
to Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights is coming up
at seven twenty five this morning. But it is time
for your sip of the day, that little sip of good.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
News while you sip on your coffee. And this is
so sweet.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
So September is Deaf Awareness Month, and one school is
setting an excellent example on how much inclusion really matters.
So Miss Jordan's first grade class at Star Elementary School
learn to use sign language American Sign Language when reciting
the Pledge of Allegiance every morning to help a fellow
(03:12):
classmate feel included.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
And listen to what Miss Jordan has to say about it.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
The children love it, and I feel that Zoe just
sees the other children trying and learning it alongside like me.
And the others that she feels included and welcome, and
she's able to communicate, and she has besties, as she
calls it, like friends in the classroom, and yeah, it
just makes everyone feel like they're included.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
It's so cute.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
So while they're doing the Pledge of Allegiance, they're signing,
and she's looking at them like and just awe and
just so much glimmer and light in her eyes, just
really excited that they're doing it along with her.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
It is the cutest thing. So you got to check
it out.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
The videos on our Instagram at MCS ninety six nine FM.
Okay on the Way, Producer Sid and I have a
very different morning routine. I actually don't understand how she
can function. I love her with my old heart, but
I'm like, how are you so responsible with how you
do things in the morning. So we'll break it down
because I know there are people on both sides of
the spectrum.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
We'll do that around six.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Fifty Birds of a Feather, I'm mixed ninety six to
nine in the Valley's Best Mix. I'm Priscilla Sid.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
How you doing over there?
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Mama?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Hanging in there?
Speaker 6 (04:25):
Girl?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
I was gonna say you got a few more weeks
until baby girl is here?
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Are things starting to feel different?
Speaker 3 (04:33):
I feel like she's coming. Okay, I'm racing the clock.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Did you Are you fully nested and everything is done
at home?
Speaker 2 (04:40):
I think so.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
I started one last project yesterday, which was clearing out
the laundry room. I don't know why, but I need
more cabinet space. But I had to stop last night
and my husband's like, go to bed, yes, finish this tomorrow.
So it's like one last you know, good silly, but
we're getting there.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I was fixed the results that.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, I was gonna say, because at this point in pregnancy,
I barely had the energy to get out of bed,
get up in the morning.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yeah, are you kind of feeling that a little bit?
Speaker 3 (05:10):
I certainly don't have the app strength to get out
of bed, that's for sure, But you know, like speaking
of your morning routine though, we were talking about how
opposite our necessities are.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
In the morning, and it actually ended up being a
whole conversation at lunch with one of my girlfriends. Because
I'm somebody when I wake up, I need at least
an hour to gather myself, take my time, scroll on
my phone, do my hair and then I can leave the.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Door or head out the door.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Yes, what you well, today I got up about ten
minutes before I to leave, brush my teeth, take my vitamins,
see it up. But you've always been this way, Yes,
this is not just pregnancy, this is always you had
to ask my mom.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
She's like, I.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Would beat you just into school so late. I just
I can't.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
I don't know to me when I feel that ru
First of all, I can't remember the last time I
woke up ten minutes before I had to leave the house.
But anytime I had, I feel like I'm a bat
out of hell. And just like it doesn't end, it
just goes, and it's just like your heart race. I
think I'm just used to it, you know, after like
(06:23):
over a decade of being like I think you know
what I will say, maybe kids to change it.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Yes, because I will change it because there's so many unknowns.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah, and then like you won't be able to pack
a baby and be out the house in ten minutes.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Exactly, So you know what I will say.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Maybe it comes with age too, that I think I'm
getting I'm getting.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Better, Yes, yes, for sure? Is it great?
Speaker 3 (06:46):
No, But we're working on it. It's fine, girl, it's
about you know what, you're pregnant.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Use that as an excuse until you can milk it as.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Long as you can. And quite literally, it is the
best excu So okay, on the way the jaw dropper.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
This guy didn't realize he was sitting on one hundred
thousand dollars in his house or should I say at
his door. We'll talk about it just after seven right
here on Mix ninety six nine. It's the Valley's best mix.
On Mixed ninety six nine, it's time for a jaw dropper.
Snock girl, I think you dropped something my jaw.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
And this is wild, so said this Michigan.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Michigan man discovered the rock that he had been using
as a doorstep for three decades, almost thirty years, was
worth one hundred thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
This would just grind my gears because can you imagine
the different life.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
You had no thirty years ago to be on one
hundred thousand dollars and just be sitting it at your door.
Quite literally, you had money at your doorstep the whole time.
It's crazy. So he went to get an appraisal, and
basically it's this rare iron nickel meteorite. It is now
named from some specific media, right, but yeah, he can
(08:04):
sell it because it is from the early solar system
for one hundred thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
I had bet some girl came in there and was like,
you know, this rock looks a little special.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Maybe we should get a checked out, Like how did
that come?
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I was I was gonna say, I feel like this
is one of those US weird girls that love crystals
and rocks, and it looks special, and some girl must
have saved his life and.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Made him on a hundred thousand dollars richer. Okay, it's crazy.
I call the stones in your house.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I will say, one hundred thousand dollars will change my life,
You change your life? Still funny thirty years later. So
hopefully he's out there making it rain somewhere another. Okay,
on the way, we have your chance to go to
Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween horror Nights. Plus the new laws
that are going into effect right here in Arizona you're
gonna want to know about.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
We'll do that around seven to twenty five.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
It's the Valley's Best MIXBIX ninety six nine Priscilla here
it is time for What's Trending, brought to you by
Healey River Resorts and Casinos. And last night, or I
should say yesterday, the Arizona Cardinals got their first win
of the season.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
Jill's gonna get the first domum of the season.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Man, hope y'all see you guys for next week.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Guess the twenty.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Kyler Murray was definitely celebrating a lot to celebrate, so
congratulations to them.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Hopefully it's the start of a winning season. Okay. The
Azy State Fair is back. It opens this Friday. How crazy?
Can I believe it's already here? Four pm?
Speaker 1 (09:36):
It opens this Friday and it goes through October twenty seventh.
They just opened on through Thursday, Thursday through Sunday. General
admission fifteen bucks for guests eight and up. Kids seven
and under are free. There's gonna be some new food
at the fair. Candied watermelon, cotton candy cake, watermelon taco
that's I don't even know what that would even be like,
(09:57):
but I'm interested in trying it. A pickle split and
a candied pineapple. And then concert series The All American
Rejects will be there October twelfth at seven PM I
Love the nineties tour with Vanilla Ice rob based in
Montel Jordan. That's October eighteenth, and then Big Time Rush
October twenty fifth. And some new laws that are here
in Arizona that are starting soon that you're gonna want
(10:20):
to know about is first and foremost the Tamala Bill.
This bill expands the items that can be prepared in
home kitchens and sold to public by allowing certain perishable
items such as the meat in the tamale or like
cream cheese in a cheesecake.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
I've heard that this bill.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Has already been into effect for bakers, like bakers are
allowed to now use whatever they want inside their home bakery,
so now they are just expanding it to like actual food. Also,
helmets for teen drivers. If you're age sixteen or seventeen
and using the OHV lane or a motorcycle or all
terrain vehicle, you will have to have a helmet, regardless
(10:58):
of which your mom and daddy says okay.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
And then dui limits for ride share drivers.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
If you drive a ride share or any commercial vehicle
for hire, there is now a point zero four percent
blood alcohol limit that's half the requirement for regular motorists.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
So just keep that in mind if.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
You are in that kind of career that even if
you're not working, that's the minimum or I'm sorry, the
maximum now, so keep that in mind.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
All right, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
It is time to hook you up with those tickets
to Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horn Nights.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
We have four of them.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Give us a call right now to play Priscilla's Pyramid
six oh two two, six oh oh nine six ' nine.
That's six oh two two, six oh oh nine, six nine.
It's exciting six nine in the Valley's Best Mix Forriscilla. Here,
it is time to play Priscilla's Pyramid for tickets to
Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horn Nights.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
We got Robin on the phone. Good morning, good morning.
Are you ready to play for your chance to go?
Speaker 8 (11:56):
I am all right.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
It's super easy. All you have to do is guess
what words sid is trying to give you clues to. Okay, okay,
so let's put the timer on the clock.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Are you ready? And the category is household items? Oh okay, okay, okay.
So this is something that you sweep with a broom.
You like this when you wanted to smell better in
your house.
Speaker 9 (12:25):
Handle Yeah, and then this.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Is something that grows in your home, you have to
water it.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Congratulation.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
I know you're going to Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
That's great.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Thank you so much, of course, hang tight.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Okay, on the way with our hot topic, should kids
have to do homework?
Speaker 2 (12:53):
When mom went.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Viral for her opinion, we'll explain in two songs. But
here's AJR on mix o. It's The Valley's Best Mixbooks
ninety six ' nine. I'm Priscilla. It is time for
our hot topic. So sid this one. Arizona mom is
going viral after she emailed her son's teacher and said,
(13:14):
we are done with homework.
Speaker 7 (13:18):
This is a little PSA for any parents that might
not know this. And I just recently learned this is
that you can actually opt out of homework for your children.
And I just sent my son's kindergarten teacher a cute
little email saying I'm sorry based on the stress mental,
physical anxiety it's causing my kid.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
We're done, we are done first week of school.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yes, And it's causing a lot of like back and
forth on social media because the question is should you
opt out of homework for your kid or should they
participate in what's expected?
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I mean think this one's tough. What do you think.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
I'm very traditional in this sense, and I'm like, yeah,
I gotta do what's required of you.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
I personally don't agree with homework because I do think
kids are at school for eight hours a day. They
don't need to come home and do an hour and
a half of homework. But while it's implemented and it
is required at school, my kid is gonna do it.
She's gonna do it along with all the other kids,
Like you don't get special treatment, girlfriend, right.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
My worry is that they come in and they're like,
my mommy says I don't have to do the homework.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Yes, And it's like, oh again, I've said it before
and I'll say it again.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Sometimes we are.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Shifting a society where it's a very like individualistic mindset
where it's like I don't care my kid's not doing it,
But in reality, it's like we're a community. Let's teach
our kids young that it's a community. I don't know,
but I hope that the.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Teacher sees this and maybe gets a few comments from
parents and then maybe she like tones it down.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Well, the thing is, it's not even the teachers, it's
like what the district requires. Yeah, the teachers are just
doing what they're told. That's true. But I guess the
question is like, should kids have homework or should they
not have homework?
Speaker 2 (15:07):
That's what we want to know. So give us a
call on your opinion.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
I'm sure it's a strong one six o two two
six oh oh nine six ' nine. Should kids have homework?
Should they not have homework? Six o two two six
oh oh nine six nine. It's The Valley's Best Mix
Mix ninety six nine. I'm Priscilla. We're in the middle
of our hot topic and we're asking you should kids
have homework or should they just be able to be
(15:31):
done with school and then have their afternoons to themselves.
We have Sarah and Mesa on the phone. Sarah, what's
your opinion on kids having homework?
Speaker 10 (15:40):
I'm against it.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Tell me why I'm against.
Speaker 10 (15:44):
It because I feel like you said, they're they're eight
hours and they've actually done research on it and they've
proven that homework does nothing with helping them retain or
learn the information any better.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Why do you think that they are still required to
do it then, because that's the other thing. It's like,
if all these studies insign shows that it's not like
that beneficial, yeah, then why do they still do it?
You know?
Speaker 10 (16:06):
I think it's more of a like you said, the
district requires a certain amount of work, and I'm wondering
if they're not completing that work during school, so they're like, well,
we have to show you're doing this, so they send
it home.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Okay, But either way, I.
Speaker 10 (16:20):
Just think kids, they already have enough stress in their lives.
Why add another hour of homework to it? Well, I
always come home and be kids.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yeah, No, I can agree with that.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
I think about like us being at work for eight hours,
Like we don't come, we don't go to work, and
then we come home and then do more work for
an hour, and I mean some of us do.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
But we call that toxic work balance.
Speaker 10 (16:41):
Yeah yeah, So then we're just teaching our kids that
toxic work balance is.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Okay, that's a good point. All right, Thanks for that, Sarah.
I appreciate you.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
Of course, have a great day you too.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I would love to hear from someone that's like, no,
they really do need homework and here is why. If
you have that perspective, give me a call. Six oh
two two six nine sixty nine. That's six oh two
two six oho nine six nine. It's Excity six nine
The Valley's Best Mix. I'm Priscilla in the middle of
our hot topic and we're asking you should kids be
required to have homework?
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Or no? We have Laura on the phone. Laura, what's
your opinion on this hot topic?
Speaker 9 (17:17):
Well, I had to do homeworks when I was a kid,
and I hope my grandson with homework, and I like
it because it gives us quality time together. There's things
in life that you don't at least want to do,
but homework is one you should do. It helps your
brain think and you know it's it also helps you
when you get to work. You're gonna have to do
(17:37):
You're gonna have to work, and you don't want to
do that. So I mean, I think it's a great
It teaches you responsibility, which is the most important today.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
You said it's quality time.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
I was like, you've never had to do homework with
a dad in math, and I'm frustrated with you.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
It's like done.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
I don't know what eighteen times forty seven is I know?
Speaker 9 (18:01):
You know what? Also, when I do homework with my
grandson because he's it was a semi to segreate for
my school. He taught me a lot because I'm just
telling him and some things I couldn't do, like he
said map and he would keep me maps. So it
was a win win situation. We were helping he does.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
I mean, listen, that's a great perspective, like maybe it's
good for quality time, you know. So thank you, Laura,
I appreciate you. Okay, let's keep this going. I would
love to hear from any teachers out there. What are
your thoughts on exactly, you know, giving homework, how it
benefits your students, any of that. Six oh two two
six oh oh nine six nine. At six oh two
(18:38):
two six oho oh nine six nine, it's the Valley's
Best Mixed Mix ninety six nine. We're gonna have your
chance to go to Barrett Jackson just after nine o'clock
this morning. But we're in the middle of our hot
topic and we're asking you should kids have to come
home with homework or should they leave the schoolwork at school?
No matter what the age. We're taking your calls six
(18:59):
oh two two six nine, six ' nine. We have
Mariah on the phone. Mariah, what's your opinion on this
hot topic?
Speaker 8 (19:06):
Look, these kids are so busy, and I am absolutely
against home or to your point, like we're working eight
hours a day, we're not going or more right, we're
not taking that work home. These kits shouldn't either. My
thoughts are they're sending this homework. I think this is normal.
So when they enter adulthood, they are fine working the
eight hours a day and then going home and taking
(19:27):
work home.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
I just want to hear from someone to tell me like,
why is it necessary? You know what I mean? Like,
why hasn't it been something that we've changed already. I
would love to know that, because, again, maybe it makes
sense for high school kids because for example, they have
like seven classes and maybe one hour of math isn't enough,
so they need to do some worksheets. But for like
(19:49):
elementary school kids, it just seems I don't know.
Speaker 8 (19:52):
Too much too. Have an eleven year old and she
started telling me she was stressed out in fifth grade.
I'm like, what, how do you know what stress is?
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (20:02):
Yeah, all of this homeworks.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Yeah, it's so tough Thanks, Maria, I appreciate you. Let's
move on to Sarah, Sarah and Glendell. What's your opinion
on this hot topic.
Speaker 6 (20:12):
Hi, Yes, I do think that you should have homework
because there are things that you need to practice at
home individually, and that takes time outside of the classroom,
especially reading and math. You should practice a little bit,
but it needs to be effective and a time appropriate amount,
not hours and hours.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
That's a good point, because here's the thing too, It's
like undistracted learning is also important. And when you're in
class with a bunch of classmates and twenty kids, and
you know, hustle and bustle, it might be more hard.
Speaker 6 (20:44):
Right, right, And so you want to practice a little
bit every day what you're learning, and it just is
really effective. I teach private piano lessons too, and so
I want my students to practice at home, not just
in their piano lesson.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
I mean, listen selfishly, though, if I have to do
one more math homework, I'm.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Just gonna I don't know if I'm gonna make it.
I can't.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
There's this program and if you're you have an elementary
school kid, you know what the program Alex is, and
it's this online math program that I am gonna pull
my hair out if I have to do it with
my eight year old.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
It's just it's a lot.
Speaker 6 (21:23):
Yeah, that does sound like a lot, And maybe maybe
there's a little bit different way to practices that isn't
that program, but I understand it's required for you. Yeah,
anywhoa really effective way.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
It's tough because honestly, we can see perspective from both sides, right, Like,
we can see why it makes sense to do it,
we can see why they don't need to do it.
So it's just maybe finding that fine balance.
Speaker 6 (21:47):
Yeah, I think exactly.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Okay, awesome, thanks for that, Sarah. Hopefully we find ways
to uh strategize and balance it without stressing our kids
out and uh the parent out, but also like having
them learn and make it important. So there you have
it all right on the way, we have your tickets

(22:13):
spotted Kissing What we'll do that.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Around eight twenty five with What's Trending.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
It's mixed ninety six to nine in the Valley's Best
Mix and Priscilla It's time for What's Trending brought to
you by Hila River Resorts and Casinos. Last night, We're
the Emmys and remember the netflick show, Baby Reindeer took
home the Emmy. Oh took the Emmys by storm. They
won four trophies. The show's creator and star, Scottish comedian
(22:40):
Richard Gadd, won three of them for acting, writing, and
executive producing. He had a speech that has gone viral
and he opens up about how much his life has
changed in ten years. Like he said, ten years ago
he was really down and out and now look at him.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
I don't know much about this life.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
I don't know why are we here, none of that.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
But I do know that nothing lasts forever, and no
matter how bad it gets, it always gets better. Yes,
So if you're struggling, keep going, keep going, and I
promise you things will be okay. Thank you so much
for us a war.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
It's so cool to see people that have had a
hard life and then kind of succeed and overcome all that.
It's quite the inspiration. It looks like Ben Affleck and
Jennifer Lopez were spotted together for the first time since
their divorce. It's interesting because there was a lot of
speculation about where they filming or were they meeting up
to like, you know, split assets, whatever the case may be.
(23:33):
But it looks like they were out to lunch with
the kids and then at some point they were holding
hands and kissing.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
What is happening? What is going on? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
I also feel that same way about this next story
where Ardam. You remember Nicki Garcia and Ardam unfortunately had
a domestic violent situation where he was arrested and charged
with felony domestic abuse. And it's still speculation whether she
was a victim or not. But she filed for divorce,
so you know, we can only assume. But it's looking
(24:03):
like he's asking for spousal support and he's asking her
to pay for his attorney's fees.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
That is a hard pill to swallow, if.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
You ask me, because if he is accused of doing
what he did and he's guilty of it, and then
to have the audacity to ask her to pay his
attorney's fees, no, ma'am, no, thank you.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
So hopefully that gets ironed out. Okay.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
On the way, we have those Barrett Jackson tickets coming
up just after nine o'clock right here on Mixed ninety
six nine it's mixed ninety six nine the Valley's Best Mix.
We're commercial free and said it's time for the vibe check.
And it looks like gen Z and millennial women are
doing these things called success showers love it. So basically
(24:46):
they're hosting success showers to celebrate career achievements instead of
bridle or baby showers, and they're focusing on getting career advice,
wisdom and instead of getting physical gifts. It's basically to
help promote female empowerment.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
And what are your thoughts on this?
Speaker 3 (25:05):
All great things, but I'm gonna tell you this, save
your troubles and just go out with your girlfriends to
a dinner well, and then you don't have to plan
a whole thing. There's no thank you involved, I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
But Sid, I'm gonna call you out. You actually did this,
do you remember I'm telling you don't do it. It's
not worth it.
Speaker 11 (25:28):
So when Sid first started on the radio, she thought,
I'm gonna have a big old girls party Barbie theme,
because it's right when Barbie came out, celebrating your job
in radio. So now, hindsight, hindsight, Well, first of all,
like none of my friends showed up.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Dead.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
None of my friends showed up.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
But it's because they're also career women and they were
booked and busy, are they.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Or are they just cried they can't commit anything?
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Listen, I do love the idea of just going out
with your girlfriends, having a dinner and just celebrating cheers
in it and drinks and all that.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
That's a fun way to do. It's fun.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
I mean, if you're into that party planning thing and
you want to look aesthetic, it's a lot of work.
For me personally, I'd rather just go out and have
fub with my girlfriends and you still get that empowerment.
You know you're gonna be talking to each other up
the whole time.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Agreed.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Agreed, Because listen, we're booked and busy now we have
careers are We've got a lot going on.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
We can't plan parties. It's not very demure, not very cute,
see not mindful.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
But uh, if that's all you, it's called a success shower.
Teddy Swims on Mikes ninety six to nine in the Valley's
Best Mixed Commercial Free I Priscilla and It's time for
Girls Gone Mild the self care eras where I go
out to different places in the valley to give you
ways to take care of yourself mentally, physically, emotionally and
sid This past weekend I went to JABS boxing gym
(26:56):
and Chandler love it and it was so fun. First
and foremost, I haven't really done a boxing like choreographed
class like that before.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Very good for releasing like rage.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
I'm gonna say, was it difficult.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
So here's the funny thing about it is because I
was filming and also doing the moves, I didn't get
a full workout in. But what I did do, Lila
came down with my daughter.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
She went with me. She came downstairs the next day
and she's like, Mom, are you sore?
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Like?
Speaker 2 (27:25):
And I'm like, girl, I am like, I feel it.
It was wild.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Boxing is intense to use muscles that you usually don't
And I don't know if you know this. I was
on the boxing team in college. No club, just club, okay,
And it's one of the best workouts you can get,
oh honestly, like the way that they train and condition
and then it's like an endurance that you don't think you.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Need, but just to keep hitting, keep hitting, keep hitting
right And it is it's muscles.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
You didn't realize you were, because like I have like
in the back, but in the middle of my back
has like it's sore there, and I'm like, I don't
ever remember that police being sore.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Yeah, I will say.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
It was funny though, because like my daughter, you know,
she grew up a lot of her life in Gilbert
and you could tell by the way she punched and
she's never.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Been in a fight. I was like her mama had
a hood punch. She she punched it back.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Why she was inclined it Like I was like, Ola,
I let go, come on.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Oh she had it?
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah, no, no me, That's what I'm saying, Like yeah,
Lila was like oh yes.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Yes, duh.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
So it was fun to see the difference. It was
a good time. Everybody had a good vibe. The energy
was awesome. It was cool because the gloves counted your punches.
It had like this little sensor in it.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
So excuse me.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
If you want to see the video we put up
on our Instagram right now at Mix ninety six nine FM.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
