Speaker 1 (00:00):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our god
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event

(00:21):
that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayer has spared the
cost of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued parole supervision.
As the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says insert
audio here, or Sheriff Grady of Polk County says, insert
audio here, you have been warned. Listen at your own risks. Mike.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
We are doing taxpayer relief shots, as we do every
Friday at nine am, and we call them taxpayer relief
shots because we believe in the right of self defense
and frankly.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Somebody's breaking in your house here, more than welcome to
shoot in Santa craise accounting.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
We prefer that you do.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Actually, hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money or.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
One of mine. Let's see another good one.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
If someone breaks in and that's the possibility that they're
going to accept is somebody gonna be shooting him. So
I would suggest not to break into homes or we
have if someone breaks in and that's I'm sorry, let's
see there we go.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Don't attack my deputies. Don't try to stab or shoot
my deputies, because if you do, we're gonna shoot you
a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
We're gonna shoot you a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
And he asked to be shocked, he demanded to be shot,
and then he forced us to shoot him.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
So we obliged him. We obliged him.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
And you could use the tasy, you can use your
other handgun if the guy is still coming at you
to get your weapon.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
That is, you know, understandable. Ah, like damn they just
shocked his dude. Or because of the riots. Uh, some
sheriffs again in Florida are taking a very proactive stance
and explaining what's going to happen if you throw a brick,

(02:21):
a firebomb, or a point a gun at one of
our deputies.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna break it down for you,
all right.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Some of you, the thugs, the thug section of the
program may want to take notes here because this is
just kind of spelling it out for you.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna break it down for you,
all right. And if somebody wants to know what I
mean by turn violent, all right, this is what I mean.
If you resist loft lorders, you're going to jail. Let
me be very clear about that. If you block an
intersection or a roadway in brevarc County, you are going
to jail. If if you flee arrest, you're going to

(03:01):
go to jail tired, because we are going to run
you down and put you in jail. If you try
to mob rule a car in Brevard County, gathering around
it refusing to let the driver leave in our county,
you're most likely going to get run over and dragged
across the street. If you spit on us, you're going
to the hospital and in jail. If you hit one

(03:24):
of us, you're going to the hospital and jail and
most likely get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
That we have here.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
If throw a brick, a fire bomb, or point a
gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying
your family where to collect your remains at because we
will kill you graveyard dead. We're not going to play.
This has got to stop. You're watching what's taking place
out there. You're seeing police officers that are being attacked,
being spit on, being put in harm's way just for

(03:56):
doing their jobs. You're seeing ICE agents that are being
targeted for doing their jobs. And you're seeing obstructionists that
are doing all of this standing in the way of
law and order.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I think it's pretty clear. I just call me silly,
but I think it's somewhat clear about what's going to happen.
We have some left over. Let's get rid of some
of these old ones. I mean, they never get old.
But and as you know, I don't listen to these
until I play them, so I have no idea what
they're like. A driver shoots a cop and a cop.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
It started with a trooper struggling with a suspect during
a traffic stop. The trooper called for backup, saying he
was shot. When other officers got there, he was rushed
to Sinai Grace Hospital. We also have Jacqueline Francis live
for US outside Sinai Grace where that injured trooper was taken.
Jacqueline just minutes ago, where an MSP officer held a
press conference. What can you tell us about what you
heard at that press conference.

Speaker 7 (04:56):
Ty, We're right outside the emergency entrance here, as you said,
at Sinai Grace High Hospital. We're inside. The trooper just
reunited with his family and as we understand, he may
still have a bullet in his shoulder. Here's a look
at the scene. This was the aftermath. Earlier this evening,
the trooper made a traffic stop on the lodge near Wyoming,

(05:16):
pulling over a forty one year old man from Highland Park.
Police tell us during that stop, the trooper and driver
got in a physical altercation. The suspect got out and
got a gun and fired at the trooper, hitting him
three times, twice in his protective vest and once in
the shoulder. Police say the trooper fired back, hitting and
killing the suspect. We were just briefed by police outside

(05:39):
the hospital about.

Speaker 8 (05:40):
How the trooper is doing.

Speaker 9 (05:42):
Take a listen.

Speaker 10 (05:44):
Just had an opportunity to speak with the trooper inside
of the hospital. He is stable. His family just arrived
here at the hospital. They are in there with him.
He is doing well considering the circumstances.

Speaker 11 (05:57):
We'd are those mess.

Speaker 10 (05:58):
It's very important, very important. This is a second time
here in the last couple of weeks here that we've
had a trooper that has been injured or been shot at,
and with those vest on, you know, we may not
be a whole totally different conversation. And this is again
another reminder of how the men and women with it's
the MSP other of police officers across this state and

(06:22):
this nation, how we are putting our lives on the
line every day to keep everybody safe.

Speaker 7 (06:29):
There were a lot of questions during that briefing that
police were not able to answer, including what prompted the
traffic stop in the first place. They say all that
information will come out in the investigation.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Tie.

Speaker 6 (06:41):
Yeah, such a sobering reminder of the risk they take
every day on that job.

Speaker 8 (06:45):
Jacqueline. What else do we know about the trooper? Not much.

Speaker 7 (06:50):
We are told that he's fairly new to the job.
He's only been with Michigan State Police for about one year.
We are also told he was driving solo, just him
in the cruiser when he made that traffic stop, and
as far as we know, he's still getting medical intention
inside the hospital right now. He wasn't cleared or anything.
When we heard from police, they were still giving him

(07:10):
the medical attention.

Speaker 8 (07:11):
He needs after being.

Speaker 6 (07:12):
Hit in the shoulder. We've all got him in our
thoughts tonight as he recovers at Sinai Grace Hospital and
Detroit Jacqueline, thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
There you have it. Driver shoots cop, Cops shoots back.
Sounds pretty reasonable to me. A man fighting with the
cops reaches for a gun. You can use a dasy,
you can use it. I hate these computers, right ay, Rod,
hate them. Here we go.

Speaker 12 (07:40):
The officers were wearing their body cameras, so that that
footage will be reviewed now at.

Speaker 9 (07:47):
Ten, one man has died after an officer involved shooting.
Two Philadelphia police officers have been placed on administrative duty
pending the outcome of an investigation. Wednesday night, I'm sorry.

Speaker 13 (07:58):
Williams.

Speaker 9 (07:59):
Gray has the night off. The VIC story on Action
News Tonight is breaking news at this hour. In the
city's Fair Hill neighborhood, a man was shot and killed
by officers after a scuffle. According to police. Authorities say
two officers tried to stop a pedestrian along Mutter and
Somerset Streets around six point thirty this evening, when then
a tussle began. Authorities say that's when the male suspect

(08:22):
reached for a gun in his bag, which did discharge.
That's when both officers fired their weapons, striking this person.

Speaker 14 (08:30):
In the stomach.

Speaker 9 (08:31):
Action News reporter Brianna Gallagher just received an update from investigators.
She joins US now live at police headquarters with the latest.

Speaker 15 (08:38):
Brianna, Yeah, sorry, we just went with police not too
long ago. They say a scuffle began, the Mail's weapon
discharged the officers. They took out their weapons, shell casings,
and a large police presidence on scene in the fair
Hill neighborhood after a deadly police involved shooting, a coy

(08:59):
filled you police just after six thirty twenty Fifth District
officers attempted to conduct a pedestrian investigation at Mutter and Somerset.
After they approached him, police say a scuffle broke out
between the officers and the Mail on the street.

Speaker 12 (09:12):
The Mail produced a handgun from a bag that he
was carrying on his person at some point during that struggle.
When that Mail produces that handgun, the weapon discharges, at
which point our officers discharge their weapons, striking the Mail
and the torso area.

Speaker 15 (09:29):
The Mail was Russian Temple Hospital, where he was pronounced
just before seven o'clock tonight. Why the officers conducted a
pedestrian stop is still under investigation.

Speaker 12 (09:37):
The investigation is still very early in the stage is
we have a lot to go through. The officers were
wearing their body cameras, so that footage will be reviewed
as a part of the.

Speaker 15 (09:48):
Investigation as officials canvas the area for evidence. It's also
unclear exactly how many shots were.

Speaker 12 (09:54):
Fired twenty fifth District officers. I mean, we always use
the terminology routine, but no day in policing is rooted.
See of these officers, you know, they're charge, were coming
out here and then again keeping the city safe, and
a part of that takes them into situations unfortunately like
this that occur. But uh, you know that's what they're
out here to do each and every day.

Speaker 15 (10:14):
Now we're being told that those officers still need to
be questioned. Police said that they're still looking for witnesses
in the area and any other cameras that may have
captured the incident unfold.

Speaker 8 (10:23):
Officers did recover.

Speaker 15 (10:24):
A weapon at the scene and the bag of the
vand had that gun, and those two officers are placed
on administrative leave for live stid of Piladelphia Police Headquarters.
Brianna Gallagher Fraksho's at ten on PHL seventeen.

Speaker 9 (10:36):
Shari, All right, a lot for them to sort through
on this one, okay, Brianna?

Speaker 16 (10:39):
Thanks?

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Well, not a lot. I mean you know, you reach
for a gun and point and you end up DRD
dead right there, man in a wheelchair all killed by
the popo. Uh oh you could use a dazy you
can use damn it. Here we go.

Speaker 17 (10:55):
That's all unfolded this afternoon in sun Valley, NBC fours
Darsups has been there all days, She joins us now
live on what Darsa is still a very active scene, yeah, Kathy.

Speaker 18 (11:06):
Police have been here for about ten hours investigating this
stabbing and police shooting that left two people dead and
sent a nearby school into lockdown.

Speaker 19 (11:17):
Police swarmed this neighborhood Friday afternoon around one o'clock responding
to a call about a domestic dispute.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Let's stop, what's going on?

Speaker 17 (11:32):
This is all unfolded this afternoon in sun Valley, NBC
four is Darsah. Phillips has been there all days, She
joins us now live on what Darsa is still a
very active scene.

Speaker 18 (11:42):
Yeah, Kathy. Police have been here for about ten hours
investigating this stabbing and police shooting that left two people
dead and sent a nearby school into lockdown.

Speaker 19 (11:54):
Police swarmed this neighborhood Friday afternoon around one o'clock responding
to a call about domestic dispute. When they arrived, officers
found a man stabbing a woman with a sharp object.
When he didn't follow orders to drop the weapon. At
least one officer opened fire, hitting the man holding the
sharp object.

Speaker 16 (12:13):
She heard the gunshots since she ran out, and she panicked.

Speaker 19 (12:17):
People who lived nearby immediately thought of Armanita Elementary School.
The kids were on the playground when those shots rang out.

Speaker 16 (12:24):
The kids were right here. They were I think it
was lunchtime. And she panicked and she looked down, and
the cops were over here and helicopters, and she got
care because my granddaughter goes here.

Speaker 19 (12:34):
The principal, who was also on the playground, immediately initiated
lockdown procedures.

Speaker 20 (12:39):
Who was kind of worried because one of my granddaditi
very but she wasn't the one who was here in
the corner that she thought everything.

Speaker 19 (12:47):
The school was locked down for about thirty minutes and
police shut down several streets around the home on Beck
Avenue near Armanita Street. The man police shot and the
woman who was stabbing were transported to the hospital. They
both did not survive their injuries. Their identities have not
yet been released. It's not clear if there was anyone
else in the house, and it's also not clear what

(13:08):
led up to the stabbing. Detectives say they're looking at
officer body worn camera footage and speaking to nearby witnesses
as part of the investigation. Now, the streets around Beck
Avenue and Armanita Street will be shut down, likely for
the next several hours, as police continue their investigation here
at the scene. That's the latest from sun Valley tonight.

(13:29):
I'm Darshah Phillips NBC for News.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
All right, got that one. Let's see the popo shoot
and kill a guy who was Oh so.

Speaker 11 (13:39):
This happened on Hampton Woods Court and Brent Mills is
joining us now with the latest information.

Speaker 16 (13:44):
Brent, Yeah, that's.

Speaker 13 (13:48):
Right, Monica and Matt. Officers are still here working the scene.
We've seen Columbus police cars go in and out of
the area. I'm going to step aside just so you
can see what I'm seeing we have one cruiser that
city behind me, and just in front of it you
see the mobile substations that police officers can work out of.
And then we have some caution tape here all along

(14:09):
going up this road. And then at the very end
you can see another police cruiser blocking off.

Speaker 16 (14:14):
That side of the road.

Speaker 13 (14:16):
So it's still very active scene here. But according to
Columbus Police, the original call came in at around nine
forty pm last night about a possible domestic violent situation.

Speaker 8 (14:26):
When officers arrived.

Speaker 13 (14:27):
They say a man was shooting at them from inside
the apartment and a woman was being held hostage. That's
when SWAT officers were called, and they say eventually they
were able to make contact with that man over the
phone and they spoke with him for more than an
hour trying to end the situation peacefully. But roughly two
hours after that first call to nine one one, Columbus

(14:48):
Police Sergeant Joe Albert says the situation then escalated. Just
after eleven forty five, the man opened the door to
the apartment with the woman and a gun in his hand.
Police say that the mail then raised the gun, at
which point multiple SWAT personnel discharged their firearms and shot him.
The woman then ran to the officers. She was later
taken to a hospital and the man was pronounced dead

(15:10):
at the scene.

Speaker 21 (15:12):
The smell was very violent, had no regard for the
police that scene here, was obviously attempting.

Speaker 8 (15:19):
To harm multiple police officers here at scene.

Speaker 22 (15:21):
At some point that individual fired out the SWAT officers
again and at least one SWAT officer had no choice
but to return fire. Our members are going home tonight,
and that is the most important thing now.

Speaker 13 (15:38):
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating this shooting,
as they do all police involved shootings, and Columbus Police
also say that they will not identify the suspects in
this shooting until they notify next to Ken, he will
continue to follow this story and bring you more updates
and information once it's made available to us, both on

(15:59):
air and online at NBC four I dot com. Look
for you. I'm Brett Mills, NBC four Frett.

Speaker 8 (16:05):
Thank you, and if you or someone you love is
dealing with the.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Domestic violence, help is available.

Speaker 23 (16:09):
Numbers for the National Domestic Violence Hotline and LSS choices
here in Franklin.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
County are on your screen. Right now.

Speaker 8 (16:15):
We also have those resources on our website.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
And let's see. Let's go to the athletic club, see
what happens there.

Speaker 21 (16:23):
Urge continues on a deadly match shooting at the Las
Vegas Athletic Club on North Rainbow for people shot by
the gunman, one of them.

Speaker 8 (16:32):
Killed, three others being treated at UMC.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
The gunman is dead now.

Speaker 6 (16:36):
Our Dana Wagner is still at the Sane Forest.

Speaker 8 (16:38):
Dana, what's the lightest? Well, we're gonna bring you a
dramatic interview live on TV. This is Hobby or Sanchez.
He was inside the Las Vegas Athletic Club and he
just walked out moments ago. And I know it's still
very raw. I know it's still very emotional for you.
So I just wanted to say thank you for giving

(16:59):
us some time. You saw the gunman come in with
some sort of a rifle and just started opening fire.

Speaker 24 (17:05):
Yes, I heard the first shot and after that I
was like at least three shots the fire.

Speaker 8 (17:11):
Yeah, wait, you've heard twenty to thirty shots from this gunman.

Speaker 24 (17:14):
Correct, Yes, that was a lot of the shots in fire.

Speaker 8 (17:18):
And you say you were what ten fifteen feet away
from him?

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yes?

Speaker 24 (17:22):
I was about ten fifteen feet away, and I decided
to hide myself in a column. And one of the
guys that he shot, which since it was one of
the managers, he was keep shotting at him. And when
I went down on the column, he was shot about
six seven times.

Speaker 8 (17:37):
So we understand that three other people were also hit.
I know you were hiding at the time, but did
you see other people get hit by gunfire as well?

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Correct?

Speaker 24 (17:45):
I saw another guy that was hit on the back
on the left. I saw him on the floor because
actually I tried to help him out to get out
and run out.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Of the building.

Speaker 8 (17:55):
Okay, so you're hearing an indiscriminated gun fire. Then eventually,
and I know this is hard for you, so thank you.
And then eventually the gunman runs outside. Did you see
him run outside of the building?

Speaker 14 (18:06):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Just because I love this so much and we have
the no Kings protests going on, let me just remind
you so you can remind all your thug friends.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna break it down for you,
all right. And if somebody wants to know what I
mean by turn violin, all right, this is what I mean.
If you resist loft lorders you're going to jail. Let
me be very clear about that. If you block an
intersection or a roadway in Brevard County, you are going
to jail. If you flee arrest, you're going to go

(18:39):
to jail tired, because we are going to run you
down and put you in jail. If you try to
mob rule a car in Brevard County, gathering around it
refusing to let the driver leave in our county, you're
most likely going to get run over and dragged across
the street. If you spit on us, you're going to
the hospital and in jail. If you hit one of us,

(19:03):
you're going to the hospital and jail and most likely
get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs that
we have here. If throw a brick, a fire bomb,
or point a gun at one of our deputies, we
will be notifying your family where to collect your remains
at because we will kill you graveyard dead. We're not
going to play. This has got to stop. You're watching

(19:25):
what's taken place out there. You're seeing police officers that
are being attacked, being spit on, being put in harm's
way just for doing their jobs. You're seeing ice agents
that are being targeted for doing their jobs, and you're
seeing obstructionists.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
All of this standing in the way of law and order. Yeah,
so stop it. I want to go back to the
one we were doing just before the break where the
guy starts describing what's happening, because I want you to
think about you being in that position. What would you do.

Speaker 8 (20:02):
That was a lot of the shots in fire, And
you said you were what ten fifteen feet away from him?

Speaker 24 (20:08):
Yes, I was about ten fifteen feet away, and I
decided to hide myself in a column and one of
the guys that he shot, which since it was one
of the managers, he was keep shotting at him. And
when I went down on the column, he was shot
about six seven times.

Speaker 8 (20:24):
So we understand that three other people were also hit.
I know you were hiding at the time, but did
you see other people get hit by gunfire as well?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Correct?

Speaker 24 (20:31):
I saw another guy that was hit on the back
on the leg. I saw him on the floor because
actually I tried to help him out to get up
and run out of the building.

Speaker 8 (20:41):
Okay, so you're hearing an indiscriminated gun fire. Then eventually,
and I know this is hard for you, so thank you.
And then eventually the gunman runs outside. Did you see
him run outside of the building.

Speaker 24 (20:53):
He ran outside after a couple of minutes. It took
a few minutes in the inside, so when I ran out, sigh.
You know, obviously I don't know what happened after that
in the inside. But after a few minutes, I seen
you know, police come in. Then the guy runs outside
and being he was being taken down by the police
officer right on the parking lott.

Speaker 8 (21:13):
Had you ever seen this canmon before? No, sir, never
seen there, Okay. And were any words spoken before he
started opening fire? Did you hear any argument?

Speaker 24 (21:22):
No, no arguments at Oh, It's just came and I
started shooting like no no reason, Alissa, I didn't heart
any anything, any confrontations.

Speaker 8 (21:30):
Listen, thank you. I appreciate you giving us your time.
I know it's a brutal day for you and and
you're brave to be able to tell your story to us,
and I thank you for that. You're Pavir Sanches. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Okay, Wow, amazing story. Let's see Popo shoot and kills.
Suspect tried to do something stupid.

Speaker 11 (21:54):
I suspect that police on a chase to the ham
on the Place Mall area earlier tonight, Please were patrolling
the area and notice the suspect acting subspecially suspiciously and
attempted a traffic stop. That's when police say a chase started.
The person reached speeds of more than one hundred miles
per hour as they led police around the mall's parking lot.

Speaker 25 (22:14):
New show Lines.

Speaker 11 (22:14):
Raycreato was at the scene at the crash and joined
us now explain exactly what happened, Ray Kim.

Speaker 25 (22:21):
Policely, a suspect who led them on a chase was
shot and killed by an officer near Hamilton Place Mall. Now,
this came after the suspect attempted to run over police
officers with a car. Now in this video you could
see the end result of that police chase. Police say
the suspect started ramming.

Speaker 8 (22:36):
Vehicles to get past them, only.

Speaker 25 (22:38):
To get caught on that curve When officers approached.

Speaker 8 (22:41):
Police say that's when he attempted to.

Speaker 25 (22:43):
Run them over, causing at least one officer to draw
their weapon and fired the suspect at killian.

Speaker 16 (22:49):
When they attempted to.

Speaker 26 (22:50):
Stop this individual, he quickly got inside a vehicle and fled,
driving over one hundred miles an hour in Hamilton Place
parking lot as well as the perimeter. I'm very thankful
that none of our officers were injured. It's tragic that
a member of our community had to pass, but this
top of behavior is not going to be.

Speaker 16 (23:08):
Acceptable in the city of chat Ore.

Speaker 25 (23:10):
In Hanlton count Now, police tell us there were two
other people in the car, both of them suffered very
minor injuries.

Speaker 18 (23:17):
Kim, great, thank you.

Speaker 11 (23:19):
This incident is now being investigated by the TBI. Of course,
this is a developing story. Depend on us to keep
you updated as we learn more.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Stop trying to run over cops with cars, dummies, okay,
some award winners. Chicago, Chicago.

Speaker 27 (23:36):
Chicago police say a man with a concealed carry license
shot and killed a man who was trying to rob him.
And this happened just before eleven last night in the
fourteen hundred block of North Artesian. Police say the concealed
carry holder was getting something out of his car when
a man with a gun walked up and tried to
rob him. A victim pulled out his own gun and

(23:56):
opened fire, shooting and killing that suspect. Police say this
Uspeck was eighteen years old, but have not released his identity.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Now I'm not certain of what what affiliate did that
story in Chicago, but with Chicago being like a war zone,
you would think that the local affiliate would spend more
than twenty eight point five seconds on the story of
self defense, you know, kind of leading the community to

(24:25):
understand that you can defend yourself yourselves against all these thugs,
particularly on the South Side, they are just continuing to
destroy your neighborhoods. Then maybe you ought to be like
this guy and oh, I don't know, get a concealed
carry permit.

Speaker 27 (24:39):
Chicago police say a man with a concealed carry license, shoot.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
There, you got it? Uh, And the other guy had
a gun too.

Speaker 27 (24:48):
And killed a man who was trying to rob him.
That this happened just before eleven last night in the
fourteen hundred block of North Artesian. Police say the concealed
carry holder was getting something out of his car when
I'm and with a gun walked up and tried to
rob him. A victim pulled out his own gun and
opened fire, shooting and killing that suspect. Police say the

(25:08):
suspect was eighteen years old, but have not released his identity.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Clike played it twice, fifty six seconds fifty seven of
us technically probably double what they played it in Chicago.
Let's see another award winner Conway, South Carolina.

Speaker 20 (25:26):
A homeowner also new for you at noon. A homeowner
who killed a seventy year old man during a home
invasion back in May will not be facing charges. Conway
police were called to a home along sun Meadow Drive
where they learned about shots being fired during that invasion.
Officers say the homeowner return fire, killing Michael Dean. Conway
police say, after thorough investigation, they believe that homeowner acted

(25:49):
in self defense, citing South Carolina stained your ground law.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Yew Chicago take a lesson from that one. Let's see Richmond, Virginia,
oh a restaurant employee. This is a good one.

Speaker 28 (26:06):
The thing about debt, we living in crazy TAZ right now?

Speaker 2 (26:11):
That reaction from me, Did you get that? Did you
know that? We living in crazy times right now?

Speaker 28 (26:20):
The thing about debt, we living in crazy TAZ right now.

Speaker 29 (26:24):
That reaction from Earl Reid Friday after a deadly gunfight
took place at the business next door, Sugars crab Shack
at Chamberlain and Wickham.

Speaker 28 (26:32):
We have a good relationship. You know we you know
it at just about every week.

Speaker 29 (26:37):
Surveillance video from Reed's Military Retirees Club and other nearby
businesses shows the immediate aftermath of what police say started
as an attempted robbery.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Around nine to thirty Thursday night.

Speaker 21 (26:48):
An individual came in armed with a firearm and masked.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
There was an.

Speaker 21 (26:52):
Employee who engaged that suspect and shot him. There were
shots exchange. The robbery. Suspect died on scene.

Speaker 29 (27:00):
That suspect has been identified as thirty seven year old
Dominique Epps of Henraiko. Police Chief Rick Edwards says the
employee stayed unseen and cooperated with investigators. It's police and
prosecutors to sertitude not bring charges against the employee.

Speaker 21 (27:14):
That doesn't mean that that won't change later, but at
this point we are still conducting our investigation. But it
seems to be a use of self class you know
on side if somebody lost his life and it had
to be that way, but you also got a particular sale.

Speaker 29 (27:29):
Employees at the restaurant on Friday told CBS six no
comment when I asked about what happened. This all unfolded
across the street from the fourth Precinct, which Edward says
shows a lack of impulse control on the part.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Of the suspect.

Speaker 29 (27:42):
Well Reid says it's indicative to the issues that this
area has been facing and wants to see more of
a presence from police.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Riding up and down the street.

Speaker 28 (27:51):
I'd like to see him park in the park a lot,
you know, that will help maybe diserve people for coming
with different ideas.

Speaker 29 (27:58):
Edward says he agrees with three, noting two police hotspots
are only a few blocks up on Chamberlain and would
like to have more of a presence, but says staffing
is an issue.

Speaker 21 (28:08):
I would love to have more officers walking. I'd love
to have more officers on horseback, on bike. The challenge
we're facing right now is twenty two percent down in staffing,
So let's put the word out we're hiring that.

Speaker 29 (28:19):
Chief Edward says they have not determined whether any of
the firearms used in this were obtained legally or not.
They are asking anyone with information about this case to
contact them through crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at seven
eight oh one thousand in Richmond, kebra Thompson CBS six needs.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Wouldn't why they're short and staffing if they're misappropriate, not misappropriating,
but misusing the tax dollars that they do get, you know,
spending it on bike lanes or bike pads. Another award winner,
Tampa Bay, an elderly woman two details in the deadly
overnight shooting in the Forest Hills area of Hillsborough County.
This is ten Tampa Bay at five. I'm Frank Quiety and.

Speaker 17 (28:57):
I'm Cotney Robinson.

Speaker 7 (28:58):
Sheriff Chad Cronister says an elderly woman was trying to
evict a handyman who.

Speaker 17 (29:02):
Overstayed his welcome Tendampabzaduria Chumba joins us now with what
we've learned to Durey.

Speaker 23 (29:08):
Investigators say that argument turned violent when the elderly woman
asked her handyman tenant to leave the home multiple times.
Deputy say the situation escalated and that's when the elderly
woman pulled out a gun.

Speaker 8 (29:20):
I was in bed.

Speaker 6 (29:21):
I heard three what I thought was gunshots, and pretty
quick succession just pop pop.

Speaker 23 (29:28):
Pop, startled by gunshots from across the street on General Place.
Gerald Schwaz says he spotted his neighbor in distress around
twelve thirty am.

Speaker 6 (29:37):
Come outside and start screaming, screaming and crying.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
I couldn't really understand.

Speaker 8 (29:41):
The only thing I can understand her saying was my leg,
my leg.

Speaker 23 (29:44):
Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Cronister says, just moments before, the elderly
woman got into an argument with her handyman tenant.

Speaker 30 (29:52):
And the elderly female resident who lives there said, I've
never seen him this violent.

Speaker 23 (29:56):
Telling investigators the man threw things around and was moved
aggressively toward her.

Speaker 30 (30:01):
She waited so long that when she fired that firearm,
there was actual blowback because he was that close. As
they both fell to the ground, that's when she became
injured and required medical attention.

Speaker 23 (30:12):
Authorities see, the homeowner had been trying to evict the
man after they let him move in about a year ago.

Speaker 30 (30:18):
She kept telling him, just leave, just leave. He continues
to move forward. She waited to the last possible minute
to have to use that firearm because she thought that
she was again that she'd be in fear of her life.

Speaker 23 (30:31):
Tonight, neighbors telling us the elderly couple were nice and
friendly folks.

Speaker 6 (30:35):
It really seemed like they were trying to give him
a place to stay, otherwise he might not have had
a place to stay.

Speaker 8 (30:39):
Oh, they're super sweet. They're older.

Speaker 16 (30:43):
One of the I'm pretty sure he's a Vietnam Vet.

Speaker 10 (30:45):
But he's a great guy, like helped us with stuff
on our house.

Speaker 23 (30:50):
And right now no charges have been filed, as investigators
were to determine if it was self defense or premeditated.
Now the state Attorney's office will decide once the evidence
is fully reviewed. In studio Aduria Chumba Tan Tampa.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Bay, what say you, I say self defense? And this
ends the taxpayer release shots for today, So we'll figure
out what to do when we get back. Of course,
that's all over cable news today, but CNN in particular
had Christian on Apour on and she said something that
you're going to get bombarded with because again they're going

(31:23):
to try to convince you that either this is World
War III or Trump just completely capitulated to the Iranians.
She says.

Speaker 14 (31:32):
The next question is and if it matters, whether in
fact Iran's nuclear program can in fact be destroyed, and
whether Israel or with the United States, can get to
the very deeply and highly penetrated and hardened facilities underground,
especially at four dough And what does Donald Trump think
about all of this? Remember, he pulled out of the

(31:54):
only arms control agreement that had been struck when he
was in office the first time. That caused Iran to
continue enriching at pace and to hire degrees. Iran has
always said it does not want a nuclear weapon.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Oh so the RANI has always said they don't want
a nuclear weapon, so we should just take them at
their at face value. Which if that were true, then
why when negotiations broke down with Obama did they restart
their nuclear weapons program? This is the insanity of CNN.

Speaker 14 (32:28):
And as yet, the IAEA has not said that it
has found any evidence that it is on the way
to a nuclear weapon. And whether there is going to
be an effort to try to resolve this diplomatically. President
Trump has said that I gave Iran sixty days. Now
it's day sixty one. This is his latest post, and
maybe it'll have a second chance. But whether there really

(32:48):
will be negotiations on a new nuclear deal or to
resolve the current situation is it's hard to tell.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
You know, what fascinates me about all of this, whether
negotiations are going on or not. Do you sincerely believe
that the Iranians are not held bent on developing a
nuclear weapon Kim Jong UN's father, No, I don't want
a nuclear weapon. Look at North Korea right now. They

(33:17):
all want nuclear weapons. Nobody in the world save me.
I'm not even sure that Putin wants around to have
nuclear weapons. But CNN is just going to continue to
be a mouthpiece as long as they can for the Iranians. Oh,
they've always said they don't want a nuclear weapons, so

(33:38):
we just should just take them at face value. That's
precisely how stupid CNN, in particular Christian, I'm a poor,
truly are.

Speaker 8 (33:58):
That's pretty much all I got.

Speaker 16 (34:01):
Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis and up the building.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
Have a good weekend.
