Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you missed it, American Idol was on on Sunday
night and we had one of our very own Alabama
Springville Onniana area, Isaiah Moore jump on there and blew
everybody away, did a rendition of Luke Comb's It was really, really,
really good. But one of the things that I learned
about you and I really appreciated is the fact that
you're a worship leader at a church in Springville or
(00:22):
is it it's an ONIONO, Okay, great, So I grew
up singing and playing music in the church. So for me,
I was like, I love to see that. And I
was so excited that you weren't scared to talk about
your faith and kind of where that life brought you
because so many people would get put on TV, and
I doubt anybody an American Idol told you like, don't
(00:44):
don't talk about the God stuff or anything. But I
just want to say thank you, because that's that's awesome
to see somebody profess their faith as much as you did.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
You know, honestly, that was the biggest surprise to me
as well. I'm not afraid to share my faith on
any any platform, but a lot of people did the
exact same thing. I mean, the majority of people that
were there in Hollywood too. It's great to sing and
and like you said, yeah, the show itself and the
producers they're all for it. They're they're not scared to
(01:12):
hear the word God being used on their show. And
even Carrie Underwood said something about it in my edition.
If you go back and listen to it, she said,
Praise the Lord.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
How tough was that to sit down in front of Lionel,
Ritchie Luke, Bryan, Carrie Underwood and then sing and play
the guitar?
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Man, I'll tell you you know, that was a big
debate on my audition that day whether or not I
was going to play guitar. As you know, I'm in
a band with another buddy. He came out there with
me prepared to play, but everybody on the show that
day was telling me I need to play my own guitar.
I really was doing it out of respect for him,
so but I ended up playing myself. But that was
the most nerve working day I was there. We got
(01:49):
there at nine am and my audition was second to
last at nine pm, so twelve hours of just sitting
there thinking about it. But I don't think that the
nerves were really because, like, I don't know, I can't
worry about singing. It was just meeting them. You know,
three celebrity judges that are pretty big right now, I
mean some of the biggest people that are that are known.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Yeah, some of the biggest names in country music. One
of them got their start on American Idol. You've seen
how well her life is gone exactly.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
So now I am kind of obsessed with the behind
the scenes of everything. So once you do have your
audition and you get the yes's, you're headed to Hollywood.
What happened after that was it immediately like okay, we'll
see you soon, like go get on a plane, we'll
be in touch, or what happened next?
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yeah, So that was November fourth with mandition date. We
literally we were celebrating. We went and got some good
Hattiees chicken nearby, and then we drove straight back home
four hours.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Could you tell anybody when you came back to Aniana
that you got through on American Idol. So that's a
hard secret to keep.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
I'm not supposed to tell anybody that I make it.
Of course, I've got family, and I consider my church
my family, so they know, and it was important for
me to tell them for obvious reasons for work and
all that short things, and so that was the only
people that I really could tell. And even in that,
it's hard because a lot of people they want to post,
they want to say this, you know, you've always They've
(03:15):
got that, You've always got that grandmother that that doesn't
think about that stuff. So she's gonna post anyways, come
on gram So that's the hardest. That's the hardest part
about it, not getting to tell anybody.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Well, I know you have your guitar with you. Yeah,
I would love to hear you know, whatever song you
want to break out, you know, if that's a gospel song,
if that's the way it moves, Yeah, I would really
love to hear something like that, just because I know
that's that's truly your wheelhouse. I thought the song you
did was great, you know, country version, the whole deal.
I like that. But I know your your pride and
(03:47):
joy and your love is is Jesus and what you
do for your church family.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Absolutely, so this is greater still. It's by Brandon Lake.
I actually great artist I had he is I had
to do this one in my second audition that was
before Nashville, because they had kind of threw a curveball
on me and they're like, yeah, we want to hear
something you do at church. Okay, cool. So this is
called greater steel You and to me I snaked, you
(04:25):
clone me. You're right snake, and you pull me from
the dead darkness. And two you a lot again?
Speaker 4 (04:40):
How in to you a lot again?
