when we talk about Kirk Cousins,but did you ever have a moment in
your career with the teams that youwere playing with, especially with the Vikings,
where you had just a massive playerat somebody that was a huge leader,

always important, to my opinion anyway, you got to pretty much have two

you know, he may not beas good as the guy there, but
he's a guy that can get youover the hump until he gets back.
And so the Vikings, you know, when Kurt went down, I know,
well, when he went down.Of course, that's all that was
the big question. What's going tohappen from that point on? Right?

is really predicated on the pass firstand then they run. But why can
we not get things going? Inyour opinion, given the fact that your
stats when you were playing, youknow, hey, ep, that was
a different time. Five and fiftyyards, but you fifty three touchdowns in
your career. You see in mytime, if you got a thousand yards,

just a thousand that was a big, big, big, big big
deal, right because it was rundominant the elephanses and then you know you
were thinking about burning clock and thingslike that. As far as the Vikings
go, you know, you gotto build from the inside out that running
game. You know, it's gotto get better. But it's been good

enough the last few games for themto be to open up their passing game
and the and the other thing aboutit is, you know, no justin
Jefferson, but Addison's come in anddone a great job. So and then

to do what they need to do. Defense is playing great, but as
far as scoring the you know,running the running game goes, I think
the more you do it, thebetter you're gonna be at it. But
as you said, it's more ofa pass first, run second type offense.

opens up. Now that this meand maybe I'm a old school but you
know, here's the thing about that. I knew you were going to say
that the old school part of it, because okay, first off offensive line,
defensive line when you were playing unbelievablewith the Minnesota Vikings. But also
you were an innovator as far aslike Jerry Burns, let's throw the ball

to our running back, let's let'smove around. I mean, you were
not just a north and South kindof guy. No, not at all.
But then when I was in college, you know, I played wide
receiver, I played running back,I played cornerback. When I got here.
That was really the first time.Well actually, when I got into
the college All Star games and theyfocused on me playing running back. And

then of course, you know,I don't know whether you knew it,
but I was the MVP and everyoneI played in And then when I got
drafted by the Vikings and Jim Finksbrings me into the office and then he
says, well, where do youwant to play corner? You want to
play wide receiver, play running back? I'm like, wow, I just
made all these all star teams,and I was all these great guys that

were supposed to be the top guys. You know, Greg prud otis Armstrong.
I keep going, and I waslike getting the MVPs, and so
I said, why aren't you justgonna let me play running back? Then
they say you're gonna play running backand then they turned me into a full
bay. And I was really upsetwhen they did that. But once they
explained to me why, then Iunderstood it. Before we get into more

I did is receiver. That's outthe door right until like what forty some
years later. Now they're trying tosay that the all purpose back is that
was a way to go. Yeah, but I'm trying to say, well,
I did that long ago. Soyou know, when they talk about

these guys, it started no no, no, no no, But that's
my thing. Still they're light andthe Vikings country. We got going out
here, Chuck Foreman, ladies andgentleman, the legend here for the Minnesota
Vikings, number forty four. Nowyou had you had the luxury to play
with one of the greatest and thegreatest quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, Kirk

Cousins. He gets injured injured there. He's got the torn achilles. He's
going to be out for the restof the season, maybe the last time
he's actually played for the Vikings.We just don't know at this point,
But would you place him for howmany quarterbacks we've had here with the Minnesota
Vikings, would you place him atnumber two right behind Fran As far as
a franchise quarterback. Given the factthat he's played here how long and what

he's actually done as a quarterback,I would say, yeah, yeah,
yeah, I think And then,you know, the only other guy I
was thinking about was Tommy Kramer.Oh yeah, because he came, because
you know, I don't want toleave him out of the mix and not
buy any stretch of the imagination.But then and that's a close you know,

I'm almost like a tie. I'mjust saying, Kurt is uh in
my opinion, especially this year,he was in the top three. He
was one of the top three quarterbacksin the game. There's easily twenty eight
teams that didn't have a quarterback betterthan nothing like that. And so,
like, I know, the contractthing and all that stuff is always in

the picture, But this is whatI'm saying about Kirk. You know what
kind of quarterback he is. Youknow what he can do when he has
the time. So you got togive him the things that he needs to
showcase his skill set and when hehas the time, there's not a quarterback
in the league that can put theball where it needs to be better than
maybe one or two, but hehe can do the job. And so

the last three, especially this yearKirk gets the time, the offensive line
has been playing better, his statsare better. You know, they winning
games and the games that they lost, games that they should have won.
Yeah, you know. So asyou're watching this twenty twenty three Minnesota Vikings,
if you were gonna do, youknow, crystal ball this thing a

little bit, if you're gonna magicateball this thing and check it up and
ask what's gonna happen. What doyou think is going to be the end
result for the Minnesota Vikings. Ithink they'll be a playoff team. I
think the defense, of course,is if they continue to get better and
played like they're playing for defenses numberone. And then I think from the
offensive standpoint, if they get well, First of all, I don't know

who to get. We got ahaul to go this week, and then
they just you know, sign JoshDopps Jostobs and I watched him play this
year and he's a pretty darn goodquarterback and he might be the right guy
at the right time for our teambecause I think if he gets up and
he gets here, I think hecan steer the ship and keep it going.

So I'm not saying he's gonna beKirk cousins. But I'm saying,
if the defense plays well, wegot you know, severs, we got
all that happening. I think theycan. They can, you know,
