screwdrivers. He was able to fixthe podcast then, and then Stephanie stopped
by with their duct tape and thetwo of them boom, we're back.
Good, we're up. We're runningback. We start every weekday morning with
Apple and Onion's just the best andworst of maybe whatever happened over the last
few hours, last few hours, last twenty four hours. But since it's
(00:44):
Monday morning, how was the weekend? Take Ah, The weekend was great.
It was so chill, so relaxed. We got outside a little bit
because it was still kind of likechill on the Chillier sign. But it
was fun. We got outside.Did our thing had a great week?
Is that your apple? Just goodweekend? My apple? Yeah? That
was a part of my apple.Sure, yeah you got an onion?
(01:07):
Not really, No, tomorrow,I have a follow up doctor's for that's
my uh bad, my apple andonion over the weekend. What you got?
Uh? I'm doing this uh corvettefor this buddy of mine in order
to breaks. And the brakes camein and they're gigantic, and so I
posted the video on our If you'venever seen hot rod parts like this,
(01:30):
they're giant corvette breaks. They're justgigantic and it's really funny. I put
my hand by I mean, you'venever seen anything like that. So go
to the cavet website and the Instagramcheck it out. It's actually pretty funny.
No, onion, just that. That's it. Man. I didn't
have anything bad happened. Life's prettygood. We should just get too hard
working partners that work like dogs. And I just kind of realized, yeah,
(01:53):
no, it's definitely. It's definitelynot taking a toll. I'll tell
you my apple is it's fine.I really am enjoying myself. It's gonna
be I will tell you over theweekend. I when I don't get a
lot of downtime, so when Ido, it's like I don't know what
(02:15):
to do with myself. And overthe weekend, for the first time in
a while, like I unplugged,and I wasn't like, what should I
be doing? I should be doingsomething? What should I be doing?
And I should be doing There's gotto be something that's gotta be doing,
you know what I mean. Andfor the first time it actually happened yesterday,
probably morning in the early afternoon.I was just like chilled, wasn't
worried about nothing. It's fantastic foryou. I got whatever I did.
(02:36):
Did you forget to do? Then? Yeah you didn't. No, I
learned that if you have Jack Daniel'sfirst thing Sunday morning, the rest of
the day goes by great little eyeOpener ninety eight one Cavett is Brad Paisley,
Wayne Dtay and Bama On ninety eightone Cavett. This is all since
all time country favorites and Bama's firstthought this morning, what you got?
(02:57):
I'm not sure what city this happenedin. Nathan Owens was in his Jaguar
Eyepace car going down a highway.Uh, he accelerated. It was a
four lane type deal, you know, so he's got guardrail between deals.
He's and he accelerates kind of goaround a car, and he has it
(03:20):
on you know, he's driving it, but he has it on automatic drive.
He's got that self driving deal.Yeah. He pushes the gas just
a little bit to move over, and the car accelerates to one hundred miles
per hour, will not decelerate. He shoves the brakes, breaks won't function.
(03:42):
And for thirty five minutes he isat one hundred miles an hour going
down the highway. He's on thephone with nine to one one. They
cleared traffic ahead of him. Theyhad no he had, he was nothing
he could do. The car hadtaken over, and uh, Jaguar range
Rover said, we don't know. We're going to take the car of course
and look at it. See whathappened. But they got the police got
(04:06):
everybody out of the way, sohe was able to you know, safely.
And then all of a sudden inthirty five minutes, now this guy
is just facing death. Then allof a sudden it slows down and on
its own and just quits his mintstops. What in the world that's the
looks on your face. I knew, but I'm thinking, like I immediately
(04:29):
start thinking what would I do?What would you do? It would not
shift into neutral, it would notIt had taken over the car, so
it had the self driving. Ittakes over everything, and he could not
get it to disengage. He wastrying everything. Well, he did the
right thing by calling the police rightaway, because I don't even think I
would be so terrified. I don'teven think that would be the first time.
(04:54):
I don't think I would have thoughtof that. Think about it this
way too. At one hundred milesper hour, there's no way you're going
to run off the road and runinto something and slow it down. That's
that's you already get killed. Hermind, I don't care what you're in.
So why did he not hit anybody? Like any other cars? I
mean, if if there's room onthe highway, you'd hop on the shoulder
and stuff like that. I'm sure. I mean you could think about most
(05:16):
long highways, you could probably youknow, you can go twenty thirty miles
you know without really just kind ofin and out. But they said that
the police got on it very quickand got way ahead and was like moving
people over and moving them over, and they were trying to figure out where
he was, where they were gonna. They were hoping he was either going
to run out of fuel or they'regoing to try to direct him into a
(05:38):
field, you know where maybe itwould slow down. You know, that
was their plan. They were tryingto find someplace way ahead and they had
thirty five minutes, which doesn't Imean, that's a long time. Not
maybe if you're trying to search fora spot, a soft spot. But
they were trying to they were wayahead of it and then it stopped on
its own and everybody was like,oh, thank god, but that's terrifying.
(06:00):
Wow, it's naughty. Eight oneCavet, Wayne Deta and Bama.
Thanks so let us be part ofyour Monday. Wayne Dtay and Bama naety
eight one Cavet proud to be Austin'sall time country favorites. Hey, Austin,
here's what's trending in the at Xwith Tay So after almost a decade,
displays of art are being built alongthe Anne and Roy Butler Hike and
Bike Trail. There's eight different artiststhat are crafting and creating artwork, and
(06:24):
that it's all going to be displayedand temporarily placed at various locations along the
trail. So if you're headed thatway, be on the lookout because they're
going to start popping up soon. That's great, that's very cool. I
love anything that we can improve whatwe got. I big. I agree.
Well, when you're on the trailand then you look back with the
city and the background and the art, it really it really looks pretty cool.
So pretty. And next, RoosterTeth they're an Austin based production company.
(06:48):
You've probably heard of them. Theywere found in two thousand and three.
They are officially shutting down. Theymade a post on Instagram about it.
They sent a message to people RoosterTeeth, their general manager, Jordan
wrote a shutdown was The shutdown wasdue to quote unquote challenges facing digital media
(07:10):
resulting from fundamental shifts. So I'mguessing that's like, right, money,
they were stealing money? No,I don't know, money is tight.
Yeah, social media replaced a lotof what they did. Yeah yeah.
And last this fall, Austinate's aregoing to have the chance to see seven
time Olympic medalists Simone Biles. She'sactually going on her own tour. How
(07:36):
cool is that Gold Over America Tour. It's going to be stopping at the
Moody Center on a Friday, Octobereighteenth. That's pretty awesome. She's going
to be visiting thirty arenas. That'ssick. What an amazing athlete. What
a great story. We just comeoff at International Women's Day on Friday.
But what a powerful young woman wholiterally grabbed a sport by the throat and
(07:57):
made it their own. Yeah.Pretty cool. Yeah, absolutely, that's
what's trending in the ATX. Onninety eight one Cavet excited to get into
open Mic Monday. Get you laughinga little later this hour on ninety eight
one Cavet. It's Wayne Dtay andBama. I thought this was cool,
and I feel like everybody right nowis talking about like, oh, I
just want to live life to thefullest, right. Yeah. So,
(08:18):
York University just came out with thisnew survey. They did it with like
about twelve thousand different participants, butthey all took this survey asking what the
key factors would be to contribute tobe like the most satisfied life. Yeah,
and you've got being married, you'vegot a woman, you've got happy
(08:41):
with personal appearance, good family andcommunity support, excellent health. And they
consider themselves upper class. Oh Iknow. I think there was one that
was butt load of cash also partI think that's what they mean when they
say upper class. But I feltlike this was so so superficial, right,
(09:01):
I mean honestly, that's and ifyou think about the happiest people in
the world are not the people withthe most money. I'll tell you that
right now. Yeah, No,I'm gonna This guy said something to me
the other day. I thought itwas pretty good. He goes the naked
man does not fear of the pickpocket. You think about that. If you
don't have anything to get, youdon't have a lot of stuff, you're
(09:22):
not worried about somebody taking. Butwhy is he naked? I don't know.
I didn't go that far into theconversation. Austin's All time country Favorites
ninety eight one k BAT with WayneDtay and Bama. Now it's open mic
Monday. This is where we stepup. We got sixty seconds until you
got the clock right of rock.I'm getting it now, So sixty seconds
on the clock, and essentially weeach take turns taking a joke. Whoever
(09:45):
time runs out on loses and hopefullyit gives you an opportunity to laugh along
with us. So I don't rememberwho lost last week. I think bam
Oh yeah, bamam out in themiddle of this joke. So Bama gets
to go first, and then allright, I'll go second in tagoes last.
All right, sixty seconds on theclock. Bama's first, three,
(10:05):
two one, it's open mic Monday. Oh go, what do you call
a snowman with a six pack? What? An abdominal snowman? I like
that? Uh? When when doesa joke become a dad joke? When?
I don't know? When it becomesa parent? Oh? Okay,
(10:26):
this is a timely one. Howdoes the moon cut his hair? Oh?
He bamly you're up? What stateis for you? Wayne? What
state is known for small drinks?Mini? So yeah, I've definitely heard
(10:46):
that before. Hey, where whatdo you get from a pampered cow?
What spoiled milk? Oh? Mygod? What did one? I'll say
to the other? What I'll meetyou at the corner? Oh god,

(11:11):

we take one more joke, anduh we're ready to rock you.
Ready, yep, all right,I gotta make sure there's like three.
I'm looking at who's going first, and I know it'll be Bama me and
(11:33):
then tell you, okay, I'mnot ready. Okay, Bama, go
ahead. What does the nosy pepperdo? Oh? Boy? What no
clue? It gets all happing yourbusiness? That was? That was one
of mine? Oh okay, I'mglad I didn't get it. Here we
go. I stayed up all nighttrying to figure out where the sun was.
(11:58):
Then it dawned on me. OhI'm my girl. I like it.
I like it all right? Mine? Is? What did the zero
say to the eight? Hey?That belt looks good on you? Get
it? Hey? Wait, hangon, hang on, I know Bama's
(12:18):

all? Completely? Really? Thezero and the eight like like the eight
cinches in his way like a belt. Yeah, yeah, I really did
get it, but I wanted tomake Wayne feel good. It's ninety one
cat here's col Swindell, Wayne DTAand Bama ninety eight one Cavet, thanks
for waking up with Austin's all timecountry favorites and now Bama's bonehead. Okay,
(12:46):
uh no, good deed goes unpunished. Loreene Ferraarlo and Karen be Cause
Bonham have learned this the hard way. They live in Ohio. They gave
their Douglas Layman, he's eighty yearsold. They gave Douglas a ride to
the bank so Douglas could withdraw ninehundred dollars from his account and so he
(13:11):
you know, they drove over therein the drive through. Who got the
nine hundred dollars out? Giving Douglasa ride over there, and then they
dropped Douglas off at the hospital.Isn't that nice? Now? What's strange
about it is Douglas was dead whatweekend at Bernie's for real, in the
(13:35):
car dead, They get the moneyout of the bank and then they drop
him at the hospital. Now theyhave been charged with gross abuse of a
corpse. Yeah, that's a felony. I don't even know how much time
you get. That. That's sogross. I just and why only nine
(13:58):
hundred bucks? Was he broker?Well that wasn't your weight up right there?
That was my question. Why ninehundred if you're gonna if it looks
like you know, if you cleanedit out, you maybe get suspicious.
But just helping an old guy getnine and they're talking to him, you
just need not Okay, yeah,he just needs nine hundred. So had
his card and all this stuff, and the teller sure he Oh that is
(14:24):
so crazy boneheads. Yea, it'sninety ate one cavete cavet. It's wade
deep tan VMA getting you in thefields. So in Denver, Colorado,
a donation based program called the MileHigh Welcome Initiative bridging communities with newcomers,
was all initiated by these two momswho met through social media. They had
(14:46):
no idea who they were. Theywere just randomly you know, like,
oh, I think they live inmy neighborhood. Yeah, they lived in
mine. You know. They becamefriends all of a sudden, but then
they wanted to do something to giveback, so they decided to start this
donation based program, which provides transitionalwork for migrants who are like in the
process of obtaining stable employment. Yeah, which is pretty cool. That's yeah.
(15:11):
They're offering like the commission is liketwenty dollars per hour and then like
up to a maximum of six hundreddollars. So that's not bad. That's
huge. That's good money for thesetwo to just start something like this.
That's pretty awesome. Yep, that'syou're in the fields on ninety eight one
cavet already after nine in Austin. Thanks for waking up with Wayne Dtay and
Bamatt. So. Eric Church hasa fan club like a lot of artists
(15:33):

about to open in downtown Nashville.I mean, i'd imagine it's within the
next couple of months. This thingis taken forever to put together. But
if you're in his is Church Choir, his fan club. He they put
they made these, like you know, nice card stock documents and it's a
ceremonial official deed that you have abrick in your name on his building.
(15:58):
Well also now it's just brick. It doesn't have your name on it doesn't
have a number on. It's kindof just like a right tongue in cheek
thing, but it is pretty cool. So you're in the you're in the
church choir, so that's awesome. You're part of your building. Man,
