(00:00):
It is another episode will just agree? No, no, no, If
only I could just say what youliterally just said before this mic turn on?
What did I say? That wasthe will just agree to whatever?
Disagree podcast? Okay, I'm Beyonce. Fine, Beyonce. What why can't

(00:20):
you do lunch with me today here? Because Gucci is having a sale?
I do do that's anyway, that'san event? Are you serious? And
you're going for real? Ryan?Okay, ask me this. You're going
to a Gucci sale two weeks beforeChristmas? Do you have all your Christmas
shopping done? What's shopping? Idon't shop for Christmas. I shop for

(00:46):
Beyonce. Fine. You don't getpeople Christmas gifts? No, my family
does not do that. Okay, doesn't have to be your family. You
don't get your significant other Christmas gift? No, you don't get your close
friends a Christmas give? No,ask why not? I just I'm not
a gift giver. I like Icelebrate. Gosh, I guess I celebrate

(01:07):
on the daily. Like you're gonnaget a random gift from me like in
July. I understand that I'm notgoing to wait for Christmas to do it.
I say that, but there's somethingabout Christmas change gifts. No,
I haven't done that in years.Wow. For the children maybe, but
not no, no, no,adults. We share experiences in life.

(01:27):
So yeah, I love something newabout you every I'm just saying single day.
Yeah. Yeah, I'm not abig you know. The whole Christmas
thing is just so. It's so. It's so because this is actually one
of my topics that I was goingto bring up because I did not realize
Christmas is literally like in less thantwo weeks and I don't have a single

(01:49):
gift, and I'm like, youknow, I get gifts for like every
one of my family, from myparents to my brother, to my sister
in law, to my nieces orniece to my nephews, everybody. And
I realized that I started started.Oh, but you know, online is
nowhere you can stay in your bedroomand get the Number one, don't like
online shopping. Number two. Iabsolutely will not do online shopping around this

(02:13):
time because what's coming in on timeat this point? Oh exactly because I
just ordered something off of Amazon andthey're like, that thing you ordered was
supposed to be here today, it'snot coming to me. You know,
Amazon tells you that it's because ofChristmas, which I understand, so I
have to Actually, I still likethe idea of going to a mall getting
gifts, rapping gifts, like Istill want to wrap everything. Oh yeah,

(02:36):
no sir, no sir, anyway, don't get a hug and a
kiss and then I love it.That was actually literally one of my topics
of discussing Christmas, because it isI realized today and I said this on
kiss, like I don't have agift yet, and who I just feel
like Christmas came out of nowhere. It did. It's just boom, it's
here, like it's literally here. But yeah, my family, we have

(03:00):
stopped exchanging gifts. Oh many yearsago. We come together, we you
know, show love, spend timewith each other, reflect all of that.
But there's really yeah, there's reallyno gift exchange. I mean I
do get as you get older, like even with our family, as we
get older, the kids get moreof the gifts versus. But we still

(03:20):
may give like a gift card ofmoney or something. Yeah, but I
still have friends that I gotta getgifts for, just like close people.
I know you ain't getting one thisyear now because I just realize I ain't
getting no gift back, so weain't got to worry about doing a gift
exchange over here. No, no, yeah, no, I just admit
it. You've probably wanted somebody whatwait what? Somebody will probably give you

(03:46):
a gift and of course, atthe moment you're like, oh my god,
thank you so much, you probablyget in the car and you're like,
what am I going to do withthis? I have done that.
I'm not gonna even lie because I'mvery unique in getting and what I receive.
Like I tell people, oh,please, don't get me anything,
please, and they do it anyway. So then I'm like, what do

(04:08):
you do at that point? BecauseI know me, my taste, I
know my flavor, I know mystyle, and most times nine out of
ten they miss the mark. SoI'm just like, oh why Yeah,
but I love it, and I'mvery grateful for people who do gift me.
But I'll put it out there. You know a TJ Max gift card

(04:30):
that will do the trick. Ohyes. It makes it so much easier
because in that way I can goget what I like or what I see.
I'm personally actually not a fan ofgift card giving. Wow, because
I actually feel like, I althoughthat's probably what's going to be done this
year. To be honest, Isometimes think it's a cop out for our

(04:53):
generation, for our people everybody.I just feel like, although you know
that person's going to love the giftcard and use it, I sometimes feel
like, no, how thoughtful isit to just where if I went in
and say, what's the store andit used to be an oil the mall?
No where you can get things andbread and things, remember things?

(05:13):
Remember why didn't you guys come back? What if I went there and got
you a keychain that said BFx onit, I'd be learning. He wouldn't
like that. Actually I would likethat. Yeah. I would not even
key change something that had BFx onit. That would be dope. Something
that's you, and it's you withthe BFx, it's branding. I feel

(05:34):
like that's more thoughtful than just mewant to give you a TJ max gift
card that I could go to Walgreensand grab that in two seconds. That's
true. That is true. That'sa good point. It depends on what
the gift is. You're absolutely rightbecause you thought it out, like,
oh, I always see her wearingBFx stuff. Yes, this would be

(05:54):
dope. So that's totally on thesame side. I'm going to say two
things. Number one, give cardsare convenient and easy. Yeah, and
number two, we're all going touse them. You know. If you
get that, you're gonna use it. Yes, eventually, there's always gonna
be a reason for me to runa TJ Max and get something. So
yeah. But speaking of which, while we're on this gift card subject,

(06:15):
be real careful this holiday season becausethere's a huge scam where these people go
in, they grab gift cards bythe droves, they take them home,
they take down the barcode information, they repackage them, and then they come
back to the store where they stolethem, and they discreetly hang them back
up. So when you go toactivate a gift card that you just purchased,

(06:40):
they've already taken the money off ofit. I don't know how they
can do that. Yes, ohno, they show them on surveillance camera
doing it, taking them and thenactually walking back into the store a day
later. Even no, I getthat part. I'm the scamming of a
card. Good luck on that.I don't know how to do that part,
but I will say back when Iworked there phone in retail. I

(07:00):
used to also just be very carefulbecause the worst thing that you want is
to give a gift card to somebody. They go and use it and the
people the cash here is like, there's nothing, nothing on it, right,
So I always tell people like, when you're getting a gift card,
make sure you get that activation receiptYEP that shows the amount you paid for
that you put on it, becausethat's the worst feeling, like ooh,

(07:21):
I think Beyonce got me a cardthat ain't got no money on it,
Like, but how do you knowthat that person's not lying? How do
you know like I didn't need aTJ Max and buy a bag and then
now I'm like, there's nothing onthis card. Well, sometimes there used
to be an alert that could showus like there was a mistake done on
our end, basics like hey, there's nothing on this card because we actually

(07:44):
never registered this card correctly with thatamount. So then you're looking like,
okay, well I was just aboutto buy this pair of shoes with this
gift card that I thought I had. You don't want to call your friend
like, hey, can you comesend me the money? Oh, you
don't think I wouldn't. You wouldcall that person, the person who gave
me the gift card. I wouldlet them know like, hey, there's
nothing on I wouldn't because they technicallywould never charged probably for that gift card

(08:05):
purchase. Oh so it's the retailersfall. It's the retailer's fault. And
then it's us thinking, you knowwhat I'm saying like they don't know,
and I will never make that awkward. But that's I'm not shocked that these
are now the new ways that peopleare trying to steal off of stores.
Oh that's a scam for you.I mean, can you imagine you're getting
all this barcode information from hundreds ofgift cards. No, you really would

(08:31):
be set. And I think weall can agree that majority of retail stores,
the gift cards are literally right infront of the store. No sir,
no, no, no. WhenI walk in, I see gift
cards in the middle of the store, in the middle mile of the store.
I mean everywhere. But you're gonnasee them. What you say when
you lost here? Yeah, forthe most everywhere. And that's what they

(08:52):
were saying on this news story thatthey need to start or they were encouraging
customers not to buy gift card carsthat are just out by the ones that
are back behind and locked. Haveyou ever seen those when they're locked in
a case behind the register. I'veseen those. I start doing that now,
I do agree. I think furtherthan that, I would put it

(09:15):
on the the retail store too.You have to ask the cashier for a
gift card, a maybe even justtake them off the floor and put it
out there. You got to cometo the register, Hey can I get
a gift card? I got you. Yeah, those gift cards. That
scam is no joke. That isno joke. So now I'm like,
oh, I'm not buying a giftcard for anyone. I'm not because it's

(09:39):
too common. It's happening everywhere. Now what else is going on? B
A whole lot of stuff. Sowe were both kind of talking about Fantasia.
Yeah, you know, she starsin the Color Purple, which is
in theaters on Christmas Day. Yes, I just you know we both love
fashion. When I tell you,her stylist tens across the board because Mss

(10:01):
Fantasia has been doing her thing onthis press run promoting the movie and just
in general, I mean she's beenhere in the Chicagoland area a few times.
I've posted her show, and I'mjust like Tanjia, her body is
amazing and she just looked perfect.I'm just happy for this season that she's
in, Like I was telling youoff Mike, like, we have seen

(10:24):
Fantasia go through highs and lows ofthis career that she's been in since American
Idol. I love that. Iwanted her to win American Idol back when
she was on it. Against honestlyloved Jennifer Hudson when she was on that
season that I mean, that's whatAmerican Idol was. American Idol. Yeah,
I loved Fantasia with being of coursefrom North Carolina, sheets from High
Point, I'm from Charlotte. That'sfam. It feels like, you know

(10:46):
what I'm saying. But to seeher now in this light, to already
see her getting nominated for awards forthis role, I'm excited. And I
think Fantasia is just one of themost humble realist you can get so cool,
like she is so cool, likeliterally when you meet her and hang
out with her, she feels itfeels like she's your bestie. Yeah,

(11:09):
that's why I's that fail down toearth. But she touches on you,
she kisses you. I'm like,oh my god, this is like a
sister. Yeah, yeah, socool. I mean, I'm excited.
My family has a tradition that wego to the movies on the Christmas Day
around like that trip while I'm downthere, okay, so I'm guessing this
will probably be the one that weall go see. I heard the movie

(11:31):
is over two hours, so I'mpraying on it. Yeah, I'm praying
on that. Yeah. I sayyou need prayer, Yeah I do.
You can't you need? You needprayer? Over two hours something is good
and you get into it. That'sa lot time. I say you need

(11:56):
prayer for real. Gee, that'snot that long. Over two and a
half. Put your phone down. The only movie that I was like,
oh yo, y'all gotta wrap thisup was Avatar. The first Avatar,
it felt like, I think I'mgonna find out how long that was.
But that first one probably was likethree hours. That's when we were like,
there's so many when I feel likea movie has multiple endings and you

(12:18):
keep going yep, but Avatar wastoo long. I felt that way with
Black Panther, the second one Inever saw, not after y'all came back
dogging it. Dude, I didn'tdog it. I'm just saying that was
way too long. And then Itold you I have Beehive friends who said
even Miss Beehives Renaissance was too long. Avatar, the first one, which

(12:41):
I thought was longer than this, was two hours and forty two minutes.
That's almost three hours. It literallyfelt long. But and if a movie
is good, I will still belike, all right, it was good,
though, but you know it's gotto come to prime on Amazon something
color purple. I gotta go seethat in theaters. Man, I probably
will too, but you know I'mgonna have to. Just there's something deeper

(13:05):
inside of you. No, it'scalled hyper like, can't sit still for
longer than you know. I doit everywhere I go, even when I
go to the musicals and the concerts. So what do you get up and
go and walk walk when you're ina concert. It's a little different than
sitting in a movie theater. Ata concert, you can get up,

(13:26):
you can dance, you can movearound. In a movie theater, you
can't. Really, you probably sitthereat all fidgety and study every time.
But it's cool. I thought itwould get better as I got older.
It's actually going the other way. It's like, girl, can you please
be still? But no, Ireally I'm happy for in the whole cast,

(13:46):
not even just for the whole cast. I mean, look at miss
Oprah, how she's looking with theweight loss, the silver silver a magazine.
God, they were all in allblack and she had the silver.
Yeah, they all win it.And I just love seeing this black stylist.
Hello, fantasious stylist? Is ita male or female? Male?

(14:07):
Sir? I wish I had timeright off the bat, but I was
on his page the other day andhe's been just when I tell you,
sir, it's perfection. Congratulations,he's amazing. And what of a full
circum moment that the full cast wason Jennifer Hudson Show, but specifically,
how much of a full circle momentof Jennifer and fantas Yeah I love that?

(14:30):
Oh yeah, yeah, I loveit too. All right, are
you going for the holidays? Ofcourse I am no, Like, is
this our last episode? Oh?I don't think so not. I'll be
here this time next week. Ithink yes, today yeah, I should
be. I should be. Youguys know Beyonce. So if this is
not, if you don't see anotherepisode after this, you know why.
No, I should be. Ishould be. I think, okay,
And you are going for the holidays. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I am.

(14:54):
Like Christmas Day, Yeah, wellI'll be here. I don't know.
I'm gone every year all my life, just about all of my adult
life. Put it that way.Yeah, not when I was a kid.
Of course. When I was akid, I was with my mom
and dad and my whole family. But now out, Wow, I will

(15:16):
