Everything. So I got on stage. The joke was supposed
to be.

First of all, I got nervous, got drunk before the
show and said I need new jokes and try to
write new jokes, brand new jokes an hour before the show.

Then I get on stage and the joke was supposed
to be man, I expected more black stuff. The premise
was more black stuff should have happened while Obama is president.

I wanted him to.

Have It was just like some stereotypical stuff, a barbecue,
you know, his dog chained to the yard. That's that's
where I thought the joke was going. But for some reason,
the first thing I said was f Obama. That was
the first thing out of my mouth. And that wasn't
what I was trying to say. What I was trying
to say was man like I was. They didn't let
me When I tell you, that was the first two

words I said out in my set and a crowd
full of black folk looked at me like ah, and
I was stuck and I was drunk.

Heard was boo. So then I heard the boot from
now I'm like, what you say? Now, mind you, I
don't know who I'm talking to. I ain't get nothing.
It was like, man, that ain't funny, and I'm like,
I just died, and I said, all hate y'all, that's
my time, got off stage and cried. That was my
second time doing stand up. The first time I did,

I killed and it was funny. Second time I did
that and got off stage, got booed, went off stage.
One of the veteran comics pulled me to the side
and he was like, hey, hey, man, if you say
a strong statement like that, you gotta have a hell
of a punchline. Like what are you doing? He was like,
all right, You'll be all right. And I went home.
I never forget I left that show, went home, cried

that night, literally cried, like cried in my bed that night.

It was like it's over.

And then I went back and I was like, now
I'm gonna get him back, and I started doing it.

So what At what point in your life did you
wake up and was like, I am funny and I
need to do stand up.

It's been funny my whole life. But what was the
most I'm always scared to do stand up to end
up scared the hell out of me. I was like,
I'm talking for all these people and try to do it.

just can do it.

know how how they I could see just from even
doing radio, Like how we know we can watch somebody
have a conversation and we know how they what they're doing.
You know exactly where they going, how they going. Why

they asked that question it's the same thing with comedy.
I'm like, okay, I got a chance to kind of learn.

When you hear comics actually break down sets, and I've
heard it a bunch of times, then you start understanding it.
I just want to try it just because, yeah, I've
been the funny dude or be able to tell funny stories.
I just want to see if it works. If it

I cannot believe if I fly economy. Plus, I'm never

You know, I started having panic attacks on the plane.
